Tajiri vs. Dean Malenko
Yoshihiro Tajiri and Dean Malenko meet for an excellent show opener that sees Tyler Breeze come out a few minutes into the match and slowly make his way down to ringside, all the while looking at himself using the mirror app on his phone, which is holds at a distance with a selfie stick. He walks up the ring steps to the ring apron and attempts to hit Tajiri with his selfie stick, as payback for getting a face full of green mist at CANADA DAY CARNAGE 2015. Unfortunately for him, Tajiri ducks the swing and he hits Malenko in the forehead. When Tajiri pops back upright, he spits green mist into Breeze’s face, causing him fall off of the ring apron.
Official Decision: Dean Malenko wins by disqualification at 6:37
*Commercial Break 1*
Gail Kim vs. Ivelisse Vélez
Gail Kim makes her return follow a lengthy absence due to injury. She gets quite a pop from the crowd. These two put on an excellent show, featuring a great deal of lucha libre styled offense, including quite a few kick variations, hurricanranas, headscissor takedowns and springboard maneuvers. The match comes to an end when Kim goes for a diving crossbody, but Ivelisse counters with an arm drag. Then, she goes for a superkick, but Kim ducks it and executes her Eat Defeat kick and pins for the win.
Official Decision: Gail Kim wins by pinfall at 7:22
*Commercial Break 2*
The first appearance of Rey Mysterio Jr. on the Titans of Grand Prix sees him come to the ring to cut a typical face promo about how excited he is to come to Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling and how he has his sight set on winning championship gold. Then, he calls out Alberto El Patron for deliberately sabotaging their team’s chances of advancing through to the semi-finals of the Canada Cup tournament when he superkicked him to spare Ted DiBiase from getting the 619. Alberto El Patron comes out with his North American Tag Team Championship tag team partner, “Million Dollar” Ted DiBiase and the winner of the Canada Cup Championship tournament, Rusev (as well as Prince Nana and Virgil). El Patron says that he won’t back down from a fight, but cautions Mysterio against asking for a match against him because his organization is very powerful and they can make sure that Mysterio’s time in AGPW comes to an end, tonight. This prompts Samoa Joe and the International Heavyweight Champion, Bret “The Hitman” Hart both to come out to support Mysterio. In the end, the situation, which starts to get heated, is defused temporarily by an announcement from Commissioner Billy Two Rivers that all of the men in the ring will compete in tonight’s main event in a 6-man tag team match. Bret Hart, Samoa Joe & Rey Mysterio Jr. will take on Alberto El Patron, Ted DiBiase and Rusev!
*Commercial Break 3*
Kurrgan vs. “Killer” Karl Krupp
At CANADA DAY CARNAGE 2015, “Killer” Karl Krupp turned on his long-time partner, Kurrgan, after he was on the losing side of the pinfall that eliminated their team from the Canada Cup tournament, which led to this match being booked. It is a rare occasion when Krupp is smaller than his opponent. Nonetheless, at the end of this big man brawl, Krupp emerges victorious with the use of his inescapable Iron Claw.
Official Decision: “Killer” Karl Krupp wins by pinfall at 6:08
*Commercial Break 4*
Petey Williams & Rhino vs. The Fabulous Rougeau Brothers
The Fabulous Rougeau Brothers come to the ring and cut a promo talking about how much of a dump the city of Windsor is. They also take the time to say that you can hardly tell the different between it and its American sister city, just across the Ambassador Bridge, as they’re both festering with pollution and their citizens can’t abandon them fast enough. This prompts Windsor native Petey Williams and Detroit native Rhino to come out to defend their hometowns and challenge the Rougeaus to a match. After a spirited contest, the hometown team emerges victorious as Rhino strikes Jacques Rougeau with a GORE! GORE! GORE! and Williams executes the Canadian Destroyer on Raymond Rougeau to get the pinfall victory.
Official Decision: Petey Williams & Rhino win by pinfall at 8:53
*Commercial Break 5*
Dynamite Kid vs. Justin Gabriel
Justin Gabriel has his singles match debut with a tough opponent in the Dynamite Kid. This match has a quick pace. Both competitors are daredevils and take to the air without hesitation, with Dynamite Kid executing a diving knee drop from the top rope, missile front dropkick and a moonsault, while Gabriel executes a springboard moonsault, springboard crossbody and a suicide senton bomb on Dynamite Kid to the outside of the ring. The match comes to an end when Dynamite Kid goes for a release German suplex and Gabriel flips over and lands on his feet. When Dynamite Kid gets to his feet, Gabriel gives him a blue thunder bomb, then heads to the top rope and executes a 450 Splash to pick up the victory.
Official Decision: Justin Gabriel wins by pinfall at 8:41
*Commercial Break 6*
Jeremy Borash is in the ring to greet the new AGPW Women’s Champion, Charlotte Flair. This second generation superstar talks about her triumphant victory and talks about how we can expect a new era of excellence in women’s wrestling with her as the champion because she is professional wrestling’s Natural Selection and the new gold standard of women’s wrestling. Awesome Kong takes exception to this and comes out to tell Flair that she wants her title back and when she gets her rematch, she’ll make good on her opportunity. Flair disputes her claim, but then Kong tells her that the only reason she is no longer the champion is because it took five other women to beat her and that no one has ever pinned or made her submit. No one can. So, when she exercises her rematch clause, Flair’s lucky, short-lived title reign to come an end.
*Commercial Break 7*
6-Man Tag Team Match
Bret Hart, Samoa Joe & Rey Mysterio Jr. vs. The IMF: Rusev, Alberto El Patron & Ted DiBiase
Bret Hart, Samoa Joe & Rey Mysterio Jr. vs. The IMF: Rusev, Alberto El Patron & Ted DiBiase
Our excited, star-studded 6-man tag team main event was the result of an earlier confrontation between Rey Mysterio Jr. and Alberto El Patron that ballooned into a 6-man standoff. The match nearly ends when Mysterio gets El Patron lined up for the 619 and hits it. Then, he executes a springboard hurricanrana and hooks both legs. 1…2… DiBiase saves it with a double axehandle to the back of the head. Samoa Joe and then Rusev run in to get involved. During the melee, Mysterio tags out to Hart and Rusev tags himself into the match. As bodies fall or fly out to the floor, Hart knocks Rusev off of his feet with a Hart Attack clothesline. He grabs Rusev by the feet and tries to apply the Sharpshooter. As he is trying to get his legs wrapped up, on a referee distraction from Prince Nana, Edge makes a run-in and spears The Hitman! Rusev takes advantage by giving him the swinging side slam and then putting him in the Accolade. The champion is unresponsive and the referee gives the win to the IMF.
Official Decision: Rusev, Alberto El Patron & Ted DiBiase win by submission at 13:22
