Édouard Carpentier vs. Goldust w/ “Classy” Freddie Blassie
We begin tonight’s show with the singles wrestling debut of a former NWA World Champion, who also held half a dozen other World Championships during his career. Owing to his background in gymnastics, the Flying Frenchman is a pioneer of the high-flying and acrobatic wrestling style that has become so popular today. Here, he faces Californiacation member, the Bizarre One, Goldust, who enters the arena first. At the conclusion of his spectacular entrance, he makes some movie references from popular World War II movies to disparage Carpentier, insinuating that the French are inherently weak. A little bit of chain wrestling opens the contest before Goldust starts off on the offensive. Carpentier quickly turns the tables by blocking a hip toss and countering it with one of his own. Carpentier strikes next with some quick arm drags and a dropkick, then settles in with a headlock takedown. He really works over Goldust with the hold. Even when he gets to his feet and tries to break it, he seemingly cannot shake Carpentier, who brings him back to the mat with the hold firmly locked in place. This happens one more time before Goldust tries a different tactic. He breaks the hold by getting his feet on the bottom rope. When Carpentier goes to lock up again, he gets a firm slap across the face. Goldust does his classic pose in which he runs his hands up his body from his waist to his shoulder, but the taunting only results in him getting a series of European uppercuts and then a whip. Carpentier sets up for the back body drop, but Goldust stops short and uppercuts him! Now, Goldust builds momentum with some of his signature moves, such as a leaping bulldog, powerslam, 10-punches with theatrics in the corner and a springboard cross-body from out of the corner! Carpentier stays in the game, but just barely. Next, Goldust whips him and goes for a clothesline. Carpentier somersaults to avoid it. Carpentier eludes Goldust’s next few strike attempts with somersaults and cartwheels. Goldust finally catches up to him and whips him into the corner. He charges in, but Carpentier steps up on the middle turnbuckle and backflips over Goldust, then dropkicks him in the turnbuckle! Carpentier peppers his body with lefts and rights and connects with one last stiff European uppercut to the jaw before giving him a snapmare and a standing senton bomb! Carpentier goes outside and climbs the turnbuckle. Goldust gets up and Carpentier dives off of the turnbuckle, taking him down with a flying headscissors! He pins, but “Classy” Freddie Blassie distracts the referee. Carpentier gets up and goes over to confront him. Blassie tries to take a shot at Carpentier, but he blocks him, then threatens to punch him before releasing him and moving out the way of a charging Goldust, who ends up knocking Blassie off of the aprong. Carpentier rolls him up in a school-boy. 1…2…3! Carpentier wins his debut singles bout!
Official Decision: Édouard Carpentier wins by pinfall

VS.
Shannon Moore vs. Kevin Steen
Shannon Moore is completely outmatched here. Unlike in his most recent match against Chris Jericho, Moore seems unable to put up much of a fight against “Mr. Wrestling” Kevin Steen. He still manages to get a short rally of high-flying moves on Steen, but Steen is just too powerful for Moore and his offense is too devastating for Moore to give him a run for his money here. After Steen blocks a 450-splash attempt with his knees, he gets up and gives Moore a superkick followed by a somersault leg drop. Next, he picks up Moore and gives him the Steenbreaker (pumphandle neckbreaker). When Moore manages to kick out of this move, Steen picks him up and executes a package piledriver on him to finally put him away for the win.
Official Decision: Kevin Steen wins by pinfall
After the match has ended, Owen Hart interrupts Kevin Steen’s victory celebration by attacking him from behind. Hart knocks Steen onto the mat with an enzigurri kick and then puts him in the sharpshooter. This brings out The Mounties. Jacques Rougeau and Pierre Ouellet come to Steen’s aid, but then “Killer” Karl Krupp and “The Acadian Giant” Kurrgan decide to come to the ring to even out the odds. The end result is Owen Hart getting away with his attack and Steen, Rougeau and Ouellet laid out at the feet of Hart, Krupp and Kurrgan!
SoCal Val is backstage to get a few words with the King of Swing, the Swiss Superman, Cesaro! He was put out of commission for weeks show due to a brutal attack he received from Maryse Ouellet’s Maximum Brute Force – Magnus & Rusev – two weeks ago. Cesaro calmly explains that he doesn’t like to get bent out of shape over things that have happened in the past. He can’t change what they did to him. He would prefer to look to the future and think about what he will do to them. Val asks him if he’s at all worried about the numbers game and he says that it doesn’t worry him that he’s outnumbered because neither Magnus nor Rusev stands a chance of coming out of this feud alive. That is a promise.

VS.
Sarita vs. Chyna
Two weeks ago, as an Extra Explosive match, Chyna defeated Rosita in one-on-one action. This week, Chyna faces the other half of the Mexican Canadians – the Canadian-born half of the duo – Sarita. Chyna uses her strength in the opening moments of the match to take early control of the action. However, she doesn’t do a lot of damage before a running clothesline to her cornered opponent fails to connect. Sarita moves out of the way and then executes a bridging German suplex to get a 2-count. Sarita builds some momentum with a variety of kicks, headscissors and hurricanranas. She caps off this offensive flurry with a somersault suicide dive to the outside! Chyna just barely beats the referee’s 10-count back into the ring. Sarita puts the boots to her and continues the attack. She gives Chyna a number of knife-edge chops before whipping her to the ropes. Her set up for a back body drop is a mistake, as Chyna counters it with a knee-to-face facebuster, then drops her with a wicked lariat. From there, Chyna begins her comeback. She executes a pair of vertical suplexes followed by a powerslam, handspring back elbow in the corner and a gorilla press slam. Chyna sets up for the pedigree, but sees Rosita jump onto the ring apron. Chyna goes over and takes a swing at her, but she hops off of the apron. When Chyna turns around, she’s taken down with a huricanrana and a cradle pin. 1…2… kick out! Sarita hops onto the top turnbuckle and goes for a diving crossbody, but Chyna catches her and turns it into a backbreaker. She gives Sarita three of them before actually dropping her. Rosita tries to stop a pin from happening by climbing the turnbuckle and going for a diving huricanrana, but Chyna counters it with a powerbomb! Then, she grabs Sarita and gives her the pedigree and rolls her over to collect the pinfall victory! At the end of the match, Chyna grabs a microphone and tells the fans that she’s excited to announce that Commissioner Billy Two Rivers has given her a title shot at TAKEOVER IN TORONTO. She promises to defeat the Hollywood transplant, Trish Stratus, in the champion’s hometown to dethrone her and become the AGPW Women’s Champion.
Official Decision: Chyna wins by pinfall
*Commercial Break 3*
When we come back from commercial, Kevin Steen and The Mounties are seen entering Commissioner Billy Two Rivers’ office. They have one thing on their minds. They all have the same goal, which is to get revenge on Owen Hart, “Killer” Karl Krupp and Kurrgan. The Commissioner grants their request by announcing that he’ll give them their opportunity at TAKEOVER IN TORONTO in a 6-man tag team street fight!
VS. w/
Cesaro vs. “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase w/ Virgil
The Million Dollar Man comes to the ring first and awaits his opponent. While Cesaro is making his entrance, he is attacked from behind in the entrance aisle by Maximum Brute Force – Magnus & Cesaro! Maryse Ouellet is with them and she is directing traffic. After receiving a severe beating from both men, they bring him to his knees and restain him while Maryse responds to his earlier interview, saying, “you won’t survive much longer if you don’t tuck your tail and run.” Then, she hauls off and slaps him in the face before instructing them to continue the beat down.
When Magnus and Rusev are finally forced away by security officials, the referee decides to call off the match. However, DiBiase disputes his decision and demands that he allows the match to go on. While this is going on, Virgil kicks Cesaro all of the way to ringside before picking him up and rolling him into the ring. The referee still won’t allow the match to go on, that is, until DiBiase tells Virgil to enter the ring and flash some cash his way. At first he refuses to take the bribe, but eventually DiBiase finds his price and the match is started. However, what was a promising match on paper, is nothing but a squash in favour of the Million Dollar Man, as he goes through the motions of executing most of his moveset at a relaxed pace before putting Cesaro in the Million Dollar Dream. DiBiase just bought his way to victory over the victim of a gang attack.
Official Decision: “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase wins by submission
Samoa Joe comes down to the ring to ask DiBiase and Virgil why they’ve been scounting all of his matches as of late. DiBiase tells Joe that he is very happy to see him. Then, he explains to him that he’s been watching him because he thinks that Samoa Joe is the most impressive wrestler in all of AGPW. He notes that his untarnished record is well earned and positive proof that he is an unbeatable force that is simply unmatched. So he has a business proposition for Joe. DiBiase will give him everything and anything that he could possibly want in exchange for the International Heavyweight Championship. Joe tells him to get his eyes checked because he doesn’t have the title, and adds that even if he did, he wouldn’t give it up for anything. The Million Dollar Man tells him not to rush to judgment. He tells him to think about what he has now, what the Million Dollar Man has (as Virgil counts a giant wad of cash), and then consider everything that he could have. And all he has to do to get everything he’s ever dreamed of is defeat Christian Cage for the International Heavyweight Championship and then hand the title over to him. Joe tells him that he’s not for sale and that the final answer is no. He drops the microphone and turns the other way. DiBiase then says that everybody has a price for the Million Dollar Man. Virgil looks like he’s going to attack Joe from behind, but DiBiase stops him and lets Joe go.

w/ VS. w/
Rowdy Roddy Piper w/ Leo Burke vs. Kazarian w/ Christopher Daniels & “Classy” Freddie Blassie
One half of the North American Tag Team Champions, Rowdy Roddy Piper, faces one half of the champions’ TAKEOVER IN TORONTO opponents, Kazarian of Californiacation’s Bad Influence. There are plenty of combustable elements at play here, one of which is the Hot Rod himself. However, Leo Burke, Christopher Daniels and “Classy” Freddie Blassie are all at ringside, which reduces the odds of the match ending without any interference. Piper and Kazarian start out slow as they trade various locks and holds. Piper tries to keep Kazarian grounded and uses his brawling prowess to knock Kazarian down. Kazarian, for his part, looks to counter and escapes Piper’s holds, then use his speed and quick acrobatic offensive maneuvers to put Piper down on the mat and then apply his own locks and holds to his opponent. As the match moves along, and Piper starts to build moment, Daniels looks to get involved in the match. Blassie creates a distraction and Daniels jumps into the ring. Burke slides into the ring, but Blassie points it out and the referee tries to hold him back and force him out of the ring. Daniels connects with a spinning heel kick to Piper’s face. He helps Kazarian up and together, they give Piper a double suplex before Daniels leaves the ring undetected by the referee. Kazarian goes for the pin, but Piper kicks out! Meanwhile, Burke isn’t willing to let Daniels get involved in the match again. He runs around the ring and attacks Daniels. They fight at ringside. Blassie screams at the referee to stop Burke. While he is occupied with them, Kazarian gives Piper a shining wizard! Then, he goes to the corner and unties a turnbuckle pad. He grabs Piper by the legs, drags him into position and goes for a catapult. Piper flies up and stops short of hitting the exposed turnbuckle by grabbing the top rope with both of his hands. When Kazarian gets up, he runs over him with a clothesline and another one and another one. Kazarian gets up ina daze and Piper spins him around and drives his forehead into the exposed turnbuckle one, two, three, four, five times! Meanwhile, the referee hasn’t been able to stop Burke’s assault on Daniels and they end up brawling into the audience. Piper calls on the referee to come back to the ring where he gives Kazarian a fisherman’s suplex. 1…2…3!
Official Decision: Rowdy Roddy Piper wins by pinfall
After the match, Blassie frantically signals to the back for reinforcements. “Superstar” Billy Graham and Goldust come down to attack Piper, but Christian Cage and Édouard Carpentier arrive right on their heels and make the save. They clear the ring of Graham, Goldust and Kazarian. Californiacation is in retreat and Blassie is livid. Later on in the evening, Ed Whalen reveals that Commissioner Two Rivers has signed Christian Cage and Édouard Carpentier to face “Superstar” Billy Graham and Goldust in a tag team match on next week’s show!
*Commercial Break 5*
Trish Stratus has Commissioner Billy Two Rivers cornered in his office and is acting like an A-list tyrant as she’s in the middle of a giant tirade about the lack of respect that AGPW shows for its one and only Women’s Champion of all-time! Stratus is airing out a laundry list of complaints and being forced to defend her title against Chyna in her hometown at TAKEOVER IN TORONTO is chief among them. Two Rivers is tired of dealing with her, so he tells her that he has an idea. He’ll let Trish hand pick her own opponent for her title defense at TAKEOVER IN TORONTO provided she can win her match next week by pinfall or submission. Stratus’ enormous ego leads her to say, “yeah, that should be easy enough.” Two Rivers asks her if she wants to know who her opponent will be and she nonchalantly replies, “Yeah, why not?” That’s when he taps the speakerphone button on the telephone sitting on his phone and we hear Fabulous Moolah speak up and remind Stratus that no one has ever pinned her or forced her to submit in AGPW. Can Trish Stratus change that? Find out next week when Trish Stratus faces Fabulous Moolah!

VS.
Bo Dallas vs. Trevor Murdoch
At the beginning of this match, Bo Dallas and Trevor Murdoch shake hands. Lord Alfred Hayes states that this handshake is symbolic of Dallas’ professionalism and sportsmanship. The total class act and inspirational Dallas is overwhelmed by Murdoch early offense, which is a mix of stiff punches, hard chops and punishing clotheslines. He is a rough and tumble brawler and he takes the fight to Dallas without letting up. After a while, Dallas backs into a corner, on his knees, and asks for a moment of reprieve, but Murdoch won’t give him a break. He rushes in to stay on the attack, but Dallas rolls out to the floor and trips him up. Then, he slams Murdoch’s right knee into the ring post a few times. From that moment on, Dallas employs a ground attack focused on Murdoch’s left knee. He wrenches it and gives him a series of elevated knee drops to the knee. He also applies a half-crab at one point, but Murdoch crawls to the ropes to force a break. Dallas grabs Murdoch and gives him multiple short-arm back elbow shots and then knocks him to the mat with a short-arm clothesline to for the pinfall, but Murdoch kicks out. More knee drops to the knee and then he applies the figure four. Murdoch eventually reverses it and does considerable damage to Dallas, as he was far from the ropes before he eventually made it to the ropes for a break. Murdoch begins a rally, executing a full nelson slam, a running big boot and a sitout spinebuster on Dallas. He picks up Dallas and prepares for the Ace of Spades, but Dallas counters with a desperation back body drop. As Murdoch is getting to his feet, Dallas grabs him in a headlock and executes the springboard Bo-Dog! He immediately turns Murdoch over and pins him to collect the 3-count and earn the win. After the match, Dallas does a victory lap around the ring and grabs a microphone to give us a reminder to Don’t Stop Bolievin’!
Official Decision: Bo Dallas wins by pinfall

VS.
Chris Jericho vs. Dean Malenko
Before this match begins, Chris Jericho makes his always spectacular entrance. However, when the lights come up, we see that it isn’t Y2J wearing his light up jacket. It’s a woman. When she turns around, we see…
… Miss Elizabeth! The first lady of professional wrestling joins Chris Jericho at ringside for his match. Jericho grabs a microphone before the match begins and announces that just like the “Macho Man” Randy Savage has a brand new manager, so too does he. However, before he can finish saying his piece, Dean Malenko attacks Jericho and to get out to a quick start and gain an early advantage. This match harkens back to their classic WCW battles. After some technical chain wrestling to open the bout, both men get their own extended runs with the advantage. However, neither man is able to pick up the victory through the 10-minute mark. This leads to the match gradually turning into a back-and-forth affair. Here are some highlights as the match builds towards a finish:
After Jericho grabbed a hold of the bottom rope on that pinfall attempt, he rolled out to the floor for a breather. Malenko doesn’t want to give an inch, so he follows him to the outside. Jericho runs around the corner and slides into the ring. Malenko is in hot pursuit. Jericho comes running off the ropes and hits a spinning heel kick. He runs to the ropes and goes for a lionsault, but Malenko puts his knees up! Malenko picks up Jericho and goes for a gutwrench powerbomb, but he blocks it with several punches to the head. Malenko drops him and Jericho attempts the Codebreaker, but Malenko blocks it and goes for the Texas cloverleaf again, but Jericho punches away at him and then pulls him into a small package in for 1…2… Malenko reverses it for 1…2… Jericho reverses it for 1…2… kick out! Both men get up at the same time and Malenko executes a leg lariat. He climbs the turnbuckle and executes a missile dropkick! Malenko covers him, but Jericho gets a shoulder up just in time! Malenko picks up Jericho and gives him a rolling fireman’s carry slam, then he goes back to the top turnbuckle and attempts a frog slash, but lands on Jericho’s knees! Jericho gets up and tries for another lionsault, but Malenko rolls inwards. However, Jericho lands on his feet and as soon as Malenko gets up, he executes the Codebreaker! Jericho pins him for 1…2…3!
Official Decision: Chris Jericho wins by pinfall
After the match, guess who shows up to spoil the victory celebration? “Macho King” Randy Savage and his new manager Sensation Sherri! Savage kills the music and speaks as he and Sherri head to the ring. He accuses Jericho of trying to make his jealous that he’s hired Miss Elizabeth, but denies it and claims that she is jealous of him for finding a new manager who is better and more gorgeous than she! And while he doesn’t care about Miss Elizabeth anymore, he’s still walking down to the ring to bash Jericho’s brains in because he has not yet retracted his claims that he is the king of the world. Because he’s not the king of the world. Savage is the only true king of wrestling and the entire world. He’s the “Macho King!” Having said his piece, Savage and Sherri hop into the ring. Elizabeth tries to flee to safety, but Sherri gets a hold of her and throws her into the corner. She gets huge heat for kicking Elizabeth down to the mat. Meanwhile, Savage and Jericho slug it out and end up rolling to the outside. It goes back and forth a little bit more, but Savage eventually takes control of the fight when he reverses a whip attempt, sending Jericho crashing into the ring post. He picks up a chair and takes a number of shots at Jericho. Meanwhile, Y2J’s new manager, Miss Elizabeth gets a bodyslam from Sherri, and then she climbs to the top turnbuckle and gives the first lady of wrestling a splash! Elizabeth is completely unconscious. The final moments of the show sees the Macho King drive the spine of the chair down across Jericho’s throat a few times, but only after already warping the seat by giving him a half a dozen shots to his body. Jericho is in a world of hurt and Elizabeth is completely motionless as the Macho King and Sherri leave the scene of their crime, taunting the fans all the way until they exit backstage.
