24-Man (12-Team) Battle Royal
Featuring: Bad Influence (Christopher Daniels &Kazarian); Cuban Assassins; “Dastardly” Danny Doring&Roadkill; The Hurricane &Rosey; The Jersey Shore (Robbie E & Robbie T); Junkyard Dog & Bo Dallas; Kaientai (Taka Michinoku &Sho Funaki); The Killer Bees (Brian Blair & Jim Brunzell); “Killer” Karl Krupp & “The Acadian Giant” Kurrgan; Lance Cade & Trevor Murdock; Magnus & Antonio Cesaro; Petey Williams & Eric Young
The prize for winning this battle royal is a title shot against the North American Tag Team Champions at MAYHEM IN MONTRÉAL on December 29. This will be like any traditional battle royal – single elimination. In order for your team to be eliminated from contention, both members of your team must be throw over the top rope to the arena floor. The last man or men – provided the final two participants are teammates – will win the match and earn a chance to win tag team gold in 3-weeks’ time.
Order of Elimination
1) Taka Michinoku – in the opening seconds of the match, about half of the ring attacks The Acadian Giant, backing him into the ropes and attempting to take the big man out. It is a sound strategy, as the taller and bigger you are, the easier it is to pick someone up and toss them over the top rope. However, Kurrgan puts up a solid defense and manages to pitch Taka over his shoulder and onto the floor.
2) Eric Young – Young suffers the same fate as Taka, as mere seconds later, he leaps up to strike Kurrgan in the head, but gets caught and dropped to the floor.
3) Kurrgan – It takes eight men to work together to eliminate the Acadian Giant. However, their efforts are rewarded when they finally force the big man to the floor and eliminate the biggest threat to their survival in this match, and only 20 seconds into the contest!
4) Robbie T – the muscular Welshman was eliminated after charging at Bo Dallas, who dropped down and pulled the top rope down with him, causing the big man to miss his lariat attempt and fall clear out of the ring.
5) “Dastardly” Danny Doring – Doring was trying to eliminate Sho Funaki, when both men were sent over the ropes by the pair of Christopher Daniels and Kazarian. Funaki managed to hold on and avoid elimination, while Doring did not.
6) Roadkill – The Angry Amish Warrior was clotheslines over the top rope and onto the floor by Rosey, the only man in the ring who was bigger than him. This was after Rosey saved his partner, The Hurricane, from being tosses over the top by him.
7) Robbie E – Jersey’s coolest bro tries to flind Funaki from the ring. He holds on, then sets up for the crane kick and connects after Robbie is spun around by a hard right hand from Trevor Murdoch. Funaki and Murdoch pick up the knocked out superstar from the Jersey Shore and send him packing.
8) Cuban Assassin Sr. – Fidel Castro’s right hand man at the Bay of Pigs has his night ended by The Junkyard Dog, who gives him a backbody drop that sends him over the top rope and onto the arena floor.
9) PeteyWilliams – Maple Leaf Muscle suffers an unfortunately exist after he attempts to dump Antonio Cesaro, but fails. Cesaro, who is on the ring apron, gets up, grabs Williams and gives him a vertical suplex over the ropes and onto the floor.
10) Cuban Assassin Jr. – the second generation hitman is sent over the top rope when both Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch grab him and give him a running hip toss out of the ring.
11) Brian Blair – Blair falls victim to a long Cesaro swing from Antonio Cesaro. He gets up, still dizzy from the 20-revolution spin and becomes easy cannon fodder for Christopher Daniels.
12) Jumpin’ Jim Brunzell – Brunzell gets 17-revolutions, immediately following his tag partner. He suffers the same fate, as he gets flung from the ring by Magnus.
13) “Killer” Karl Krupp – Krupp falls victim to the triple team efforts of Lance Cade, Trevor Murdoch and Kung Funaki! Following a crane kick and a double powerbomb, the three men collaborate to send Krupp out of the ring.
14) Rosey – the biggest superhero in professional wrestling has his night ended thanks to the group efforts of Magnus, Antonio Cesaro, Christopher Daniels and Kazarian. They all work together to force the big man over the top rope.
15) ShoFunaki – lasting much longer than anyone might have expected, Funaki finally has his night ended when he attempt to give Antonio Cesaro a crane kick. Cesaro blocks it and then nearly takes his head off with a running European uppercut. Christopher Daniels is right there to capitalize, picking up Funaki and throwing him over the top rope.
16) Magnus – A ringside distraction ends up costing Magnus, severely. Magnus pummels Trevor Murdoch down to the mat, in the corner, where Maryse grabs a turnbuckle string and chokes him from behind. This brings out ODB. Maryse runs off and ODB gives chase. Magnus turns his attention to the chase, worrying about his manager, which causes him to be grabbed from behind and pitched over the top rope by Lance Cade.
17) Trevor Murdoch – The beer-swilling, long haul truck driver has his night come to an end when he attempts to whip Christopher Daniels from one corner to the other. It’s reversed and he ends up running into a Very European Uppercut from Antonio Cesaro, who struggles to get him over the top rope, but succeeds to toss him after Daniels and Bo Dallas lend a helping hand.
18) Lance Cade – The Texan cowboy’s night comes to an end when tries to toss Kazarian out of the ring. He lands on the apron and pulls at Cade’s hair. He turns around to face Kazarian, who trash talks him and distracts him long enough for Antonio Cesaro to dropkick Cade in behind. Kazarian drops down to the canvas to allow Cade to go over the top rope and out to the floor.
*Commercial Break 1*
There were no eliminations during the commercial break, as the final six – Antonio Cesaro, Bo Dallas, Christopher Daniels, The Hurricane, Junkyard Dog and Kazarian – bunkered down to avoid elimination at all costs. The action continues without any further eliminations for a few more minutes, until:
19) The Junkyard Dog –JYD’s night comes to an end when he puts Christopher Daniels on his shoulder and takes him over to the ropes. Kazarian grabs his partner’s foot to save him. JYD turns around and together, Bad Influence sends him over the top rope with a double clothesline.
20) The Hurricane – The lone remaining superhero in the match has his team’s hopes dashed after giving Bo Dallas the shining wizard! When he gets up, Antonio Cesaro gives him a release German suplex and then Christopher Daniels lands the Best Moonsault Ever! Daniels and Kazarian both throw him to the floor.
21) Kazarian – Down to the final four and things were looking favourable for Bad Influence, but then Bo Dallas comes up with a late match rally. Kazarian tries to monkey flip him out of the corner, but he lands on his feet. Then, Dallas ducks a running clothesline attempt by Christopher Daniels, who ends up taking out his partner. Dallas takes Daniels out of the equation with a springboard spinning bulldog and then grabs Kazarian as he tries to get back to his feet and tosses him from the ring.
22) Antonio Cesaro – Cesaro immediately attacks Dallas after he eliminates Kazarian. He starts to force Dallas over the top rope, but he hooks a leg around the middle rope, gets Cesaro into a head lock and pulls him over the top with him. Cesaro falls to the floor and we’re now down to the final two!
23) Christopher Daniels – Bo Dallas won’t be denied. Daniels is right there on the attack, but a whip attempt is reversed and Dallas catches Daniels and gives him a side belly-to-belly suplex. He brings Daniels to his feet and runs him over to the ropes to send him flying over the top, but Daniels lands on the apron. Dallas charges at Daniels and hits him with a hard enough shoulderblock, between the ropes, that Daniels can’t hold onto the top rope and he falls to the floor!
Official Decision: Junkyard Dog & Bo Dallas win the battle royal when Bo Dallas is the lone survivor.
The late match rally and heroics of Bo Dallas seem to go unappreciated by the crowd. The babyface competitor celebrates the victory he achieved for his team, but the fans are largely unresponsive and there is a smattering of audible boos until Junkyard Dog comes out to join in the celebration, at which point the fans liven up again. Bo Dallas asks JYD to do us a special treat and show the fans his fantastic dance moves. Then, he invites some kids into the ring and they break dance the night away!
Marc Blondin is standing by with “Classy” Freddie Blassie and the Mash-Up Wrestling World Heavyweight Champion, Hollywood Hulk Hogan. He starts off by asking for Blassie’s reaction to the results of the battle royal. Blassie expresses shock and dismay that someone as talentless as Bo Dallas could win the match, but says that he’s proud of his men for being the only team with two of its members as the final four participants. He calls this result a temporary setback and remains confident that Bad Influence will rise to the top of the tag team ranks in short order. Moving on, Blondin asks Hollywood Hulk Hogan if he is at all worried about not being able to prepare for his title defence, tonight, as it will be against a mystery opponent. Hogan says – ”Well you know something, Marc Blondin,” – that he’s not worried about defending his title because the quality of the competition in AGPW is less than stellar. There’s no one here that stands a reasonable chance of even putting up a challenge against the greatest wrestler of all-time. Blondin goes on to ask both men about the comments Blassie made last week, stating that Hogan would not fulfill the rest of his obligations to AGPW. Blassie tells Blondin that he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Hogan says that he doesn’t have to be here and he doesn’t even feel like it’s worth his time. He’s here simply out of the goodness of his heart – and because he has an important business matter to attend. Blondin asks if that has anything to do with Christian Cage, to which both Blassie and Hogan ask, “Christian who?”
*Commercial Break 2*
We return to a backstage segment inside of a locker room where Tyson Kidd, Lance Storm, and Rowdy Roddy Piper are discussing the campaign to get Blue Blazer added to the AGPW roster. Sitting on a chair in the room is a large stack of papers. It seems that this document might be a hard copy of the online petition to ask AGPW to sign Blue Blazer to a contract. Storm believes that now is the time to file the petition. Piper agrees. Kidd picks up the large document and they all leave the room. Moments later, Suicide and Manik emerge from the locker room showers and exit the room.
VS.
Samoa Joe vs. Shannon Moore
Samoa Joe pretty much decimates Shannon Moore in this one. This is a showcase for Joe to show the AGPW fans what he’s all about. Moore gets a few moves in, but really stands no chance, as Joe make quick work on him. Joe even holds back a little. He does not show his full arsenal of suplexes. He performes a few signature moves, such as the CCS enzigurri kick (kick to the back of the head of a cornered opponent, from the ring apron), then enters the ring and nearly takes Moore’s face off with a running boot to the side of face, while he’s seated in the corner. Joe picks him up out of the corner and gives him the Muscle Buster for the pinfall and the victory.
Official Decision: Samoa Joe wins by pinfall
As Joe has his hand raised, he gets clubbed from behind by “The Acadian Giant” Kurrgan. Kurrgan hammers away at him with hard blows, but Joe still gets back up to his feet and throws some wicked chops at him. Kurrgan gives him a knee lift and then whips him. He tries for the big boot, but Joe ducks it. Kurrgan turns around and Joe takes him down with a running cross body block. Kurrgan starts to get up, but Joe slaps on the Coquina Clutch.
Just as he gets the big man down and locks his legs around Kurrgan’s waist, “Killer” Karl Krupp enters the ring and breaks it up by whipping Joe’s head with his riding crop! He’s just lashing away at Joe, who tries to cover up, but has no way to get away from the lashings. Krupp locks on the Iron Claw and keeps the hold locked in until several officials arrive and manage to break it up and get Krupp and Kurrgan to leave the ring.
The Blue Blazer enters “Marvelous” Marc Mero’s dressing room. Mero wants to know what he wants. The Blue Blazer reminds him of their agreement last week and tells him that, now, he has something he needs Mero to do for him. Mero wants to know why he should bother since he didn’t win the title last week. The Blue Blazer reminds him that he didn’t promise him the title. He promised to protect him and he fulfilled his obligations. He goes on to say that if Mero doesn’t fulfill his half of the agreement, he’ll bring him to justice for violating their verbal contract. And, besides, he’s sure that Mero will find his task mutually beneficial. Mero asks him what he has to do. What will Mero have to do? I suppose we’ll find out later. Oh, the suspense~!
*Commercial Break 3*
We switch to a scene backstage where Frenchy Martin is meeting with Cyrus. Martin wants to know if he can give him an answer as to why the tag team champions have to defend their titles against Dean Malenko and Leo Burke, tonight, inside of the Lethal Lockdown cage. Martin is opposed to allowing Dino Bravo and Mad Dog Vachon to compete in such a match, especially when there is so much on the line. Cyrus tells him that there are a number of reasons why the match was booked. Those reasons include: Emile Duprée told him that the North American Tag Team Titles had to be defended tonight, otherwise the champions would be stripped of the titles because there is a 30-day time limit on title defenses and they last defended their titles on November 9; Dean Malenko and Leo Burke are not good box office draws on their own, but are alright as a team; giving them a title shot ought to appease them enough to get them to forget about their aspirations for the International Heavyweight Championship; and the Lethal Lockdown is a match that ought to spike the ratings. He goes on to tell Martin that putting Canada’s Strongest Man and the Mad Dog inside of a cage full of weapons should work in their favour. They are Mafia men and, he says, mafia men have killer instincts. They were born for the brutish nature of the cold steel structure. Malenko and Burke, on the other hand, aren’t woven from the same cloth. They won’t be able to withstand the hellacious environment of Lethal Lockdown, the environment that was made for the rabid and powerful of men – men like the Montréal Mafia. Martin’s mind has been put at ease and he goes on his way.
VS.
Canadian Ninjas vs. Taylor Wilde & Mighty Molly
Because tag team wrestling is taking center stage tonight – between the 24-man tag team battle royal and tonight’s Lethal Lockdown main event for the North American Tag Team Championship Titles – tonight’s women’s division match is also a tag team bout, featuring Canada’s premiere female tag team and the team of Taylor Wilde and Mighty Molly, who have come together to battle against common foes. The match starts out great for the fan favourites, Wilde & Molly. They put a pounding into Portia Perez and prevent her from doing anything of note for the first few minutes. However, Perez finds an out when she counters a Taylor Wilde back body drop set up into a sunset flip powerbomb. After that, she manages to tag out and Nicole Matthews begins to dominate Wilde. Wilde takes over Perez’s role of getting the snot beat out of her by both members of the opposite team. The Ninjas make some pinfall attempts that fail to secure the victory. After making it to the ropes to break up a half crab applied by Perez, Wilde mounts a short comeback and makes the hot tag to Molly, who begins to dominate the Ninjas.
Sensing that perhaps the match may be slipping away from them, Sensational Sherri Martel comes out and pushes Mighty Molly off of the top turnbuckle, causing to fall into a seated position on the top rope! Taylor Wilde leaves the ring apron to give chase to Sherri and follows as far as the entrance set. However, back in the ring, the Canadian Ninjas have just given Molly their finisher, the Funky Cold Medina, which gives them the win!
Official Decision: The Canadian Ninjas win by pinfall
Marc Blondin is standing by with Chris Hero, who comments on Chris Candido and the attack he made on him two weeks ago. Hero is surprised that Candido chose to come after him again, after he was soundly defeated at the last PRIMETIME LIVE. Blondin mentions that Candido lost by disqualification after hitting Hero with a chair, a weapon that Hero himself introduced into the match and which backfired on him. Hero takes offense and claims that his victory was without controversy and entirely due to the fact that he concussed Candido with his kicks and gave him the KO with his elbows! He says that Candido is nothing but a bitter loser who can’t stand the taste of defeat, but promises that he’ll have to experience that unpleasant taste again soon.
Or maybe Chris Hero will get another beating courtesy of Chris Candido! He runs right onto the scene lifting Hero and tackling into the interview set backdrop. Candido continues to pummels away at him. He gets up and powerbombs Hero onto the pile of rubble that once was the interview set. Candido asks for Blondin to come over. Blondin extends the microphone. Candido says that he told us that all Hero had to do to become famous was say his name. Now, he’s going to make sure that it happens. This was only the beginning. The ending comes at MAYHEM IN MONTRÉAL, that is, if Hero isn’t afraid of getting what we wants fame – to the extreme!
*Commercial Break 4*
Emile Duprée makes an unannounced appearance on Dynamite Saturday Night. He comes to the ring and thanks the fans for the warm welcome. Before he can even speak, here comes Cyrus. He enters the ring and welcomes the principal owner of Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling to Chicoutimi and Dynamite Saturday Night and mentions that he is surprised to see Duprée because he didn’t let him know that he was here. Duprée apologizes for the ‘small’ oversight. Cyrus asks him why he’s come out here on TV. Duprée rarely makes appearance on AGPW television, so when he does, you know that it is for a reason. Duprée says that he is here to announce that AGPW has finally found the right man to work with him as its new Commissioner. Cyrus is taken aback by this announcement. He says that he thought that he would work together with Duprée to hire a General Manager to make decisions in the best interest of Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling and The Network. Duprée responds that it became clear that allowing Cyrus to have a say in the hiring of his authority figure would have turn the company upside down all for the sake of ratings. Cyrus tells Duprée not to speak disparagingly of the ratings. They are what keeps his company on the air. Duprée says that at the heart of the television show is wrestling company and it needs a man who respects wrestling for what it is, who will respect the people who do the wrestling, and who will command the respect of those very same people for making fair and unbiased wrestling decisions. Governance of the product is very important and when that person is making decisions with that in mind and ‘’not how can spike the ratings this week,’’ The Network will get the ratings and advertising revenue it is looking for. Now, without further ado, Emile Duprée introduces us to the new Commissioner of Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling.
Billy Two Rivers! He may not be a household name to most wrestling fans, however Billy Two Rivers is a well-known Canadian professional wrestler in Québec and might very well be a household name in the United Kingdom and Ireland, where it was said that he was ‘‘treated like a God’’ (Paul Leduc), so much so that racehorses were named after him, poems were written about him (read My Father and I and Billy Two Rivers by the multi-award winning Irish poet, Paul Muldoon), and songs were named after him (hear Billy Two Rivers by the 1980s British glam/hair rock band, The Dogs D’Amour). He became a Chief of the Mohawk nation after retiring from wrestling, returning to his band, located on the southern shores of the Saint-Laurent (opposite of Montréal Island) and enters local politics. He’s a well-respected man who has fought for peace and social justice and is not afraid of confrontation with government when his peoples are shown a lack of respect (see the Oka Crisis).
Two Rivers enters the ring to a warm response from the fans. Cyrus is dumbfounded. He has no clue who the new commissioner is or why the fans are cheering him on. Two Rivers tells Cyrus he promises that his wrestling decisions will give him good ratings because he make the kinds of important decisions that the fans want.
Suddenly, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Lance Storm and Tyson Kidd come to the ring. Piper announces that they are here as the official welcoming committee for the new commissioner. In typical Rowdy Roddy Piper style, he introduces his friends, shakes hands with the new commissioner and owner all in rapid order, while snubbing Cyrus, and rushes along to a matter of business – the group masked vigilantes parading around AGPW, led by The Blue Blazer. They want something done about this man. He’s not on the roster and yet He’s been wreaking havoc on AGPW television for months and he’s not even under contract. They either want him signed to a contract and added to the roster or arrested for trespassing whenever he steps foot into an arena where there is an AGPW event. Lance Storm points out the giant document that Tyson Kidd is holding. He claims it is a lengthy petition of fans and other wrestling personalities who want to see The Blue Blazer signed to a contract so that The Blue Blazer can be brought to justice inside of a wrestling ring. Cyrus speaks up and says that they are insane and that Two Rivers and Duprée shouldn’t listen to these morons because The Blue Blazer is the kind of compelling character that people like to see on television. He needs to operate outside of the normal rules of wrestling because it makes for exciting television and he draws big ratings for The Network! Piper responds to those comments by threatening to rearrange Cyrus’ face. Commissioner Two Rivers and Duprée agree that he’s a good, compelling character for the company, but they thing he needs his actions need to be reined in. So, Duprée says that he will seek to sign The Blue Blazer to a contract.
It’s the Blue Blazer, Suicide and Manik! They stop short of the ring. The Blue Blazer has a microphone in hand. He says that he’s come out here because he sees that the writing is on the wall, that he can no longer go on protecting the law in AGPW without becoming a full-fledged AGPW wrestler. He has in his hand a letter of intent to sign a contract for Emile Duprée, as well as a contract to compete in his debut match at MAYHEM IN MONTRÉAL versus anyone of three of them. The Blue Blazer cautiously enters the ring to give the documents to Emile Duprée. He even goes ahead and signs his name on the match contract to show his sincerity. Rowdy Roddy Piper is anxious to get his hands on the match contract and grabs it from Duprée after he says that everything looks legitimate. The Blue Blazer tells him to use his pen and then stabs Piper in the forehead with it! A brawl begins, with Suicide and Manik hoping into the ring. Cyrus, Duprée and Two Rivers bail out of the ring. Suicide and Manik gets tosses from the ring, then Storm and Kidd attack The Blue Blazer. Piper’s forehead is busted open. Storm and Kidd take turns beating on The Blue Blazer and, now with him vulnerable, they decide to unmask him.
It’s “Marvelous” Marc Mero!
The real Blue Blazer suddenly appears behind Kidd and Storm and lays them both out with a steel chair! He has Suicide and Manik help him get Mero out of the ring and they get out of dodge.
*Commercial Break 5*
SoCal Val is with Gail Kim. Val asks Kim for her thoughts about Trish Stratus resurfacing south of the border. Kim tells Val that it has become clear that Trish was insincere about her desire to come home and figures that her call to all Canadian women to return to Canada and form an amazing women’s division was just a ploy to keep the best women in the world away from her. She says that Trish is afraid of real competition. It’s why she won’t show her face in Canada and it’s also why she won’t show her face to Mildred Burke, unless she does it with an even scarier face standing behind hers. Gail Kim has Trish Stratus all figured out. Moving on, Val asks for her comments reguarding the action made on her last week by Fabulous Moolah. Kim says that she’s not surprised that Moolah chose not to look her in the face before sending her a message that she’s the old badger on the block. She says that Moolah knows that if she chose to come face-to-face with Kim, she’d have failed miserably in her attempt to bully her around. Kim finishes with a message for Moolah. She says that if Moolah wants to prove she’s the best there is, then she’ll have to do in the ring, against Gail Kim at MAYHEM IN MONTRÉAL.

Mash-Up Wrestling World Heavyweight Champion
Hollywood Hulk Hogan w/ “Classy” Freddie Blassie vs. Al Snow
Hollywood Hulk Hogan w/ “Classy” Freddie Blassie vs. Al Snow
And the mystery opponent is: Al Snow! A greater let down couldn’t have happened. While Snow is over with the crowd and most people want Head, being realistic about it, the guy does not have a hope in hell of defeating Hollywood Hulk Hogan. Oh sure, he rallies after Hogan’s early heel tactics and makes things interesting with a few near falls, but Hogan still manages to avoid receiving the Snowplow and pulls out his late match magic, which culminates in a whip to the ropes, big boot to Snow’s face and the Hogan running leg drop for the 1-2-3, and all without the help of his Illuminati brethren.
Official Decision: Hollywood Hulk Hogan wins by pinfall
Following the match, “Classy” Freddie Blassie asks for the music to be cut because the World Champion has something to say. He hands the microphone to Hogan, who says that he heard that some unknown Canadian kid came out here last week and told the world that he’s coming after Hollywood Hulk Hogan and the World Heavyweight Championship. He asks Blassie what that kid’s name is and Blassie says he thinks it was Christian Cage (the name drop receives pops). Hogan claims not to know who Christian Cage is, but he says that he as a news flash for him – everyone is gunning for his title. So, he says that the nobody from the north can take a number and get in line with the rest of world of professional wrestling and, if he’s lucky, maybe his number will get called someday.
And just as it appears as though Hogan is finished, Christian Cage comes out onto the entrance set and tells Hogan that he’s looking at Christian Cage and if he thinks he’s still looking at nobody then maybe he should get his eyes checked because there is no mistaking Captain Charisma when you see him! Blassie starts riffing some lines about showing respect to the World’s Heavyweight Champion, but Christian fires back that respect is something that is earned and that a man who wins the World Heavyweight Championship through shady backroom deals is going to have a hard time finding respect from anyone in this arena, least of all him. Hogan says that Christian needs to watch his mouth because what he says now can very easily come back to haunt him. Christian says that whatever threats he has for him will not scare him off. Christian says that Hogan’s been complaining about the lack of competition, but now he’s got a challenger standing right in front of him, and this challenger promises that, if given the chance, he’ll win the World Heavyweight Championship in a match that will be a certifiable instance classic. Hogan finishes the exchange by telling Christian that, because he has no clue who he is, he needs to find out if he’s worthy of consideration for a title bout. In order to figure that out, Christian will have to prove that he is a superstar and to do that, he’ll have to defeat the “Superstar” Billy Graham in a match, next week. Christian accepts the challenge. Next week, we’ll see Christian Cage versus “Superstar” Billy Graham!
*Commercial Break 6*
Marc Blondin is with “The Iceman” Dean Malenko and Leo Burke to get their thoughts as they get ready to step inside of the Lethal Lockdown cage a few minutes from now. Malenko and Burke tell us that they are happy for any opportunity to strike at the heart of the Montréal Mafia and take some of their hardware away from them. However, they emphasize the fact that their partnership isn’t about going after the North American Tag Team Titles, rather it is a partnership of two men with the same individual goals who have joined together to fight an organization much larger than them. Tonight, they will put a giant dent into the Montréal Mafia, but tag team gold won’t be enough. They still both have their eyes on the larger prize, the one that sits around Yvon “Le Lion” Robert’s waist. They both want the International Heavyweight Championship. Lethal Lockdown is next!

Lethal Lockdown
North American Tag Team Title Match
Montréal Mafia w/ Frenchy Martin vs. “The Iceman” Dean Malenko & Leo Burke
North American Tag Team Title Match
Montréal Mafia w/ Frenchy Martin vs. “The Iceman” Dean Malenko & Leo Burke
The rules are similar to the TNA Lethal Lockdown. However, here, everyone starts in the ring at the same time and the top of the cage, with weapons dangling from it, will be lowered into place at the 10-minute mark of the match. After two quick commercial breaks, we’re pleased to bring you this match in its entirety. This has a big match feel to it. It’s inside of a steel cage and there are weapons hanging from the top of it. As soon as the referee is in place, the bell is rung, and the match begins with a full on brawl. Leo Burke and Dino Bravo exchange thunderous right hands. Mad Dog Vachon and Dean Malenko do the same. Burke and Malenko are not the fan favourite here. The home province side of Bravo and Vachon and getting all of the love from the fans. As one could expect, Vachon is keen on using the cage to its maximum affect. He continuous throws Malenko into the side of the chain-link fence and grinds his face into the metal sides of the cage. Bravo pounds away at Burke for a while, but he fights back with a flurry of chops and fists to back him into the ropes. A dropkick sends Bravo falling between the ropes onto the ring apron. When he gets up, Burke charges at him and drives him back into the cage with a shoulder tackle. Burke sees Vachon on the ring apron, taking it to his partner, and decides to give him the size treatment. However, the Mad Dog sees him coming at the last second and avoids it. Burke slams his own face into the chain-link cage. Vachon steps back through the ropes and brings Burke into the center of the ring, where he goes to work on him. Eventually, Malenko gets back in business and saves his partner from receiving a piledriver with a missile dropkick! Bravo tries to attack, but Malenko takes him over with a hurricanrana. Malenko and Burke build momentum and get into the driver seat for the next few minutes. Malenko even manages to get Bravo into the Texas Cloverleaf. Burke hoists Vachon up onto his shoulder and runs towards the ropes, but Vachon scoots out the back before his face can meet the cage and then takes Burke down with a side belly-to-belly suplex. Meanwhile, Bravo begins to power out of the cloverleaf. Canada’s Strongest Man shows us why he’s billed as such, as he pushes himself up into a plank position and crawls towards the ropes. He reaches the ropes, but Malenko won’t let go, so Vachon runs over and boots him to the side of the head. Vachon grabs Malenko and tosses him through the ropes and into the side of the cage. He sees Burke get up and charges at him. Burke sees him coming and nails him with a dropkick. Burke charges at Bravo after he gets to his feet. Bravo goes for a back body drop, but Burke grabs the top rope and lands on the apron. He punches Bravo in the back of the head, turns him around and suplexes him over the rope and into the side of the cage! Vachon and Malenko meet up in the center of the ring for an all-out knife-edge chop war! Malenko eventually wins the battle and takes Vachon down with a gutwrench backbreaker!
With Malenko and Burke starting to look like they’re in control and the match hitting the 9-minute mark, Yvon “Le Lion” Robert and Yoshihiro Tajiri arrive on the scene. Robert hands his title off to Frenchy Martin and the two men start scaling the side of the cage. Ed Whalen and Jeremy Borash, on commentary, are less than enthused, however the fans are quite alright with it. The top of the cage comes down, but both Robert and Tajiri make it inside just in time. Burke and Malenko see them and refocus their attention. Burke greets Robert with his fists, however he blocks and starts giving it to Burke. Malenko sends Tajiri towards the ropes. He performs a double forward handspring into the ropes, using them to slingshot him back at Malenko with a back elbow. Tajiri sizes him up for the buzzsaw kick, but Malenko ducks it and then gives Tajiri a low blow! Tajiri bends over. Malenko grabs him by the pants to try to pull himself up. He comes face-to-face with Tajiri, who is bent down looking at him, and sprays green mist at him! Meanwhile, Robert is putting the beating Burke in the corner. Meanwhile, Mad Dog and Bravo climbs different turnbuckles and start pulling down whatever weapons they can get their hands on. Some trashcans and lids come down, as well as a broomstick and an acoustic guitar. And, in a crowd pleasing spot, Mad Dog grabs the acoustic guitar and begins to strum it as Robert yells out, “Mad Dog, c’est lui notre champion!” and Bravo and Tajiri scream “Number one, number one, number one!” Then, Vachon takes the guitar and breaks it over Leo Burke’s head!
While the Mafia are busy having a laugh at the expense of Malenko and Burke, the Junkyard Dog and Bo Dallas rush down to the ring. Dallas has bolt cutters in hand and he snaps the lock on the cage door. Frenchy Martin is screaming at the men inside of the cage to pay attention. They notice JYD jumping into the ring, but one by one they get taking down with the JYD’s dog chains as he whips them around! Now, it’s a true Lethal Lockdown 4-on-4 affair! Bo Dallas is slamming away at Tajiri’s head with a trashcan lid and getting booed. JYD gets a mixed reaction, as his popularity seems to overcome the fact that he’s attacking the home province favourites. With JYD and Bo Dallas taking the fight to the Mafia, Burke recovers and joins in, while Malenko is still trying to tend to his eyes. The Montréal Mafia seem doomed to lose the titles now. However, Tajiri is left alone just long enough to load up on another dose of mist. He gets to his feet and Leo Burke sees him, so he charges at him and gets sprayed! Dallas charges towards him, and the Japanese Buzzsaw takes him over with a hurricanrana! Tajiri and JYD go to battle. One-by-one the other Mafia members come around and join in the fight. As the Mafia complete their rebound, it all culminates with Mad Dog Vachon grabbing Leo Burke and giving him a piledriver onto a trashcan! He covers Burke for the 3-count and the victory! The Montréal Mafia retain the North American Tag Team Titles and are now set for a date with Junkyard Dog and Bo Dallas at MAYHEM IN MONTRÉAL.
Official Decision: The Montréal Mafia wins by pinfall
The Mafia’s celebration is cut short as Commissioner Billy Two Rivers comes out onto the entrance set and orders the music be stopped. Two Rivers looks into the cage and says that he’s watched the last month of AGPW as Yvon Robert has done everything he could to avoid defending getting into a title match with either of Dean Malenko and Leo Burke, but then tonight, he couldn’t wait to get into this title match with them. Since he appears to have had a change of heart, Two Rivers’ first decree as the Commission of AGPW is to announce that Yvon “Le Lion” Robert will defend the International Heavyweight Championship against “The Iceman” Dean Malenko and Leo Burke in a Triple Threat Match at MAYHEM IN MONTRÉAL! We close the show with a shot of a seriously pissed off Yvon Robert losing his cool inside of the ring.
