Ed Whalen: Ladies and gentlemen, and fans of all ages, welcome to Dynamite Saturday Night! I’m Ed Whalen and with me as always is Jeremy Borash. Fans, we’re not really sure what we have in store for you because no card has been released for tonight’s show.
Jeremy Borash: That’s right. We haven’t even been given any insight as to what’s been planned for tonight’s event. There hasn’t even been one match announced for this evening!
Ed Whalen: If ever there was any doubt that the planning and organizing of a wrestling show was being done by a television guy with no knowledge of the business, this is it!
Jeremy Borash: Be careful, Ed! I don’t want you to say something that could get you in trouble with The Network.
Ed Whalen: Look, I’m just calling it as I see it, Jeremy. Why say anything contrary to the truth?
Jeremy Borash: That’s a valid point. Anyhow, despite that we have no card to hype up for you, I suppose we can expect there to be some fallout from the events of last week’s show. A lot of things happened last week.
Ed Whalen: And how! We had the debut of Gail Kim, which was upstaged by the surprise appearance of Trish Stratus, who is not a contracted employee of AGPW. They had a confrontation with The Fabulous Moolah, which ended with Stratus attacking Kim and putting down Moolah as being beneath her.
Jeremy Borash: That was big. However, the debut of Gail Kim was upstaged by the announcement that the Illuminati has officially arrived in AGPW and that its forces will be led by “Superstar” Billy Graham and “Classy” Freddie Blassie!
Ed Whalen: And with the Mash-Up World Heavyweight Champion, Hollywood Hulk Hogan still lurking around, the Illuminati already looks like a major threat to establish a foothold in AGPW, which cannot or will not be displaced easily.
Jeremy Borash: Plus, let’s not forget that Leo Burke and “The Iceman” Dean Malenko have made a pact to focus all of their energy towards disrupting the dominance of the Montréal Mafia, which currently holds all of the gold in AGPW.
Ed Whalen: And, hopefully, we’ll get an update on the medical condition of Lance Storm, who was taken out on a stretcher after being attacked by the Blue Blazer’s masked henchmen, Suicide & Manik. Will we see the Blue Blazer, tonight? And how will Rowdy Roddy Piper and Tyson Kidd respond?
Jeremy Borash: I don’t know the answers to those questions, but I think… oh, great! Here comes Cyrus from The Network!
Ed Whalen: This is just what we need to start off Dynamite Saturday Night! At least maybe we’ll learn something about what matches we’ll be seeing tonight.
Cyrus enters the ring and takes a microphone. He welcomes the fans to Dynamite Saturday Night and then opens by telling us the obvious – that he isn’t a wrestling guy, he’s a television guy. And now, he’s a television guy with his hands deep inside of the inner works of an industry in which he has no prior work experience. Despite all of that, he is no longer only managing the television production side of Dynamite Saturday Night with the best interests of The Network at heart. He is now also temporarily managing the day-to-day wrestling operations of Dynamite Saturday Night. However, since he doesn’t truly grasp how best to book a “wrestling card” to please the fans in the arena or home, but knows what would make for good television, he tells us that he has decided that he isn’t even going to try to book a “wrestling card.” Instead, he’s going to let the wrestlers decide what matches we get. He figures they’ll do a better job at giving the fans matches that they want to see and he knows that this idea – born out of the idea of posing the questions, “who will challenge whom?” – is very good for television. Everyone wins. Think of it a sort of “open fight night,” if you will. Back on commentary, Ed Whalen and Jeremy Borash give Cyrus credit for making a decent idea for a change, as they suspect that the fans will be treated to some matches that they will definitely want to see. And with that, Cyrus opens the floor (or ring) to whomever wants to come out and make a challenge. Oh, and by the way, he has one last thing to add, to make it a little more interesting: no challenge may be denied or else the challenged combatants will be suspended! What exciting action or chaos will this announcement lead to? It looks like we won’t have to wait long to find out.
It’s Leo Burke and “The Iceman” Dean Malenko! They come to the ring before Cyrus even has the chance to step outside of it. They enter the ring and thank Cyrus for making this announcement and for making it a whole lot easier for them to get what they’ve wanted since the conclusion of PRIMETIME LIVE, four weeks ago. Cyrus looks like he just realizes that his open fight night idea might bring about unintended consequences – such as this – a challenge by Burke and Malenko to face Yvon “Le Lion” Robert, tonight, for the International Heavyweight Championship in a match with no time limit! Scrambling to find a way around this – to protect the interests of The Network – and AGPW – mere days before AGPW embarks on its first major tour throughout Québec, Cyrus tells them that there may only be one challenger per opponent. No triple threat matches are allowed. It would be unfair to the challenged combatants, he says. Therefore, they’ll have to decide amongst themselves which one of them will get his shot at the championship, tonight.
Suddenly, the pact between Burke and Malenko appears to be in jeopardy as they stare at each other and begin to talk it over. Clearly, neither man wants to lose out on this opportunity. While that’s happening, the Montréal Mafia storm the ring and commence a 4-on-2 beat down of Burke and Malenko, which culminates in Japanese buzzsaw kicks and spiked piledrivers for each man. Frenchy Martin grabs a microphone and says that it is too bad they couldn’t make up their minds quick enough because the Mafia has a challenge of its own: Yvon “Le Lion” Robert & Yoshihiro Tajiri versus “The Iceman” Dean Malenko & Leo Burke in tag team action. Problem solved. The Mafia beat Burke and Malenko to the punch and ensure that Robert doesn’t have to defend his title all in one fell swoop.

Maryse Ouellet leads her team of Magnus & Antonio Cesaro to the ring, where she begins to rip into the local fans for supporting a the pair of rowdy and rough rednecks, Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch, over a team of classy and cultured European superstars, such as Magnus & Antonio Cesaro. She rails against them for being the kind of southern backwoods morons that Canadian fans everywhere should despise. She even accuses of them of being Republicans – trying to play to Canada’s deep-seated dislike towards the United States’ small ‘c’ conservative political party. Still, the jeers rain down hard on her and her men. She hands the microphone over to Magnus, who cries foul of Cade & Murdoch for costing them the victory in their last two matches. He passes the mic over to Cesaro, who continues to berate Cade & Murdoch before finally calling them out for an open fight night challenge.
w/ VS.
Magnus & Antonio Cesaro w/ Maryse Ouellet vs. Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch
The fan favourites, Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch, answer the challenge and bring the fight to Magnus & Antonio Cesaro. In the early going, it looks like Magnus and Cesaro made a mistake by calling out Cade and Murdoch, who take quick control of the match and punish Cesaro quite a bit. However, Cesaro gets turns things around after his opponents prematurely set up for the Sweet ‘n Sour. Cesaro avoids the attempt and gives Cade a bicycle kick, followed by a dropkick to Murdoch, and then a delayed vertical suplex for Cade and a delayed gutwrench suplex for Murdoch. He tags out. Magnus comes in and starts working over Murdoch, who becomes the face in peril. Magnus and Cesaro make several quick tags to maximize their double-team opportunities and wear him down faster. Murdoch eventually turns things around after ducking a clothesline, coming off of the ropes and taking Magnus down with a leaping shoulderblock tackle. He manages to make the hot tag to Cade, who goes to town on both of his opponents. However, their strength in numbers eventually overcomes Cade’s momentum until Murdoch jumps back into the picture. The fighting spills to the outside, where Murdoch and Magnus brawl around ringside. Murdoch has the upper hand and finally sends Magnus crashing into the nearby ringsteps. He grabs Magnus by the head to bring him back up, but gets turned around, slapped in the face and kicked in the crotch by Maryse. She berates him en français until a crazed fan carrying a flask in one hand hops over the guardrail and jumps on her with a Lou Thesz Press. After pummeling Maryse and then getting up, we get a good look at her face.
It’s ODB! She plays to the crowd, with the ringside fans going particularly crazy. However, it’s all put to an end when Cesaro grabs her by the hair, from behind, and threatens her. However, she breaks free by hitting him in the side of the face with her flask. Cesaro gets turned around by the flask hit and takes a superkick from Cade to the same jaw! Magnus charges at Cade, who sidesteps him and directs him into the guardrail. The referee calls for the double countout. Meanwhile, Maryse is busy fleeing the scene, as Murdoch helps ODB take Cesaro into the ring, where they stick him in the corner and she gives him the Bronco Muncher! Cade, Murdoch and ODB celebrate as we head to commercial.
Official Decision: Double Countout
*Commercial Break 2*
Taylor Wilde comes out to the ring. She addresses the post-match attack on her after she defeated Nicole Matthews, two weeks ago. She was attacked by Matthews’ partner, Portia Perez, and Sensational Sherri Martel. Wilde says that she’s still got a beef with Sherri after cheating to beat her at PRIMETIME LIVE and then assisting the Canadian Ninjas in their attack on her, two weeks ago. However, she’s defeated one Ninja, so tonight, she’s using the open fight night stipulation to call out the other Canadian Ninja to show us all that she can beat either one of them. So, we get…
VS.
Taylor Wilde vs. Portia Perez
In this match, Wilde starts out hot, but Perez goes on an extended run on offense after she dropkicks Wilde in mid-air after diving off of the top turnbuckle. Perez is in the driver’s seat until she sets up for School’s Out. Wilde gives her several elbows to the side of the face to break it up. She kicks Perez in the abdomen and gives her a northern lights suplex. Wilde covers for a 2-count. She gets up and runs to the ropes, but gets tripped up by Nicole Matthews. Wilde gets up and tells the referee about the intereference. Together, they argue with Matthews from inside of the ring. Wilde turns around and just manages to duck a superkick attempt. Then, she takes Perez down with tilt-a-whirl headscissors. Wilde waits for Perez to get up and gives her the Wilde Ride. She gets the 3-count and the victory.
Official Decision: Taylor Wilde wins by pinfall
Taylor Wilde can’t celebrate her victory, as Nicole Matthews is right there to attack her before she can even get up. Sensational Sherri, who was doing guest commentary for the match, also jumps into the ring and gets involved. It looks like we’re going to get a repeat situation from two weeks ago, until Mighty Molly arrives, climbs the turnbuckle and takes out Sensational Sherri with the Molly-Go-Round! She fights off both Canadian Ninjas, clearing them of the ring. The superhero saves the day!
*Commercial Break 3*
Rowdy Roddy Piper and Tyson Kidd come to the ring and take the microphone. Piper begins by telling us that Lance Storm is not here, tonight. He says that Storm was injured as a result of last week’s attack on him by Suicide and Manik. Knowing that they work for the Blue Blazer, he says that they want to rip his head off. However, Piper realizes that the Blue Blazer is also not an official member of the AGPW roster, so that can’t call him out for tonight’s fight night. He hands the microphone over to Kidd, who tells us that they’ve devised a plan to rectify this problem so that they will one day be able to get a measure of justice against this faux caped crusader inside of the ring. Piper, Kidd and Storm have started a petition addressed to Emile Duprée and Slade to sign the Blue Blazer to a wrestling contract and, Kidd says, they are urging every single AGPW fan to sign the petition, as well as to flood the AGPW website, Twitter feeds, and other social media outlets with demands to add the Blue Blazer to the roster. Piper takes the microphone back and says that while they can’t out the Blue Blazer, tonight, it doesn’t mean they can’t challenge the Blue Blazer’s disciples, who just so happen to be on the roster. So, for open fight night, Piper and Kidd challenge Suicide and Manik to a tag team match, now!
VS.
Rowdy Roddy Piper & Tyson Kidd vs. Suicide & Manik
This is a very good cruiserweight TNA X-division styled matchup with 3 of the 4 participants fitting that mold. Piper is the only man in the match doesn’t have the high flyer chops. However, he still has a fair of speed. In this bout, he has two speeds: slow and technical; and fast brawler. And he does them well! The others are all about speed and excitement. The match is very much a back and forth affair with neither team gaining a clear advantage or extended run on offense. Piper and Kidd are intent on destroying the Blue Blazer’s henchmen, but they too are relentless in the sense that they refuse to give up, kicking out at every pinfall attempt. One keeps expecting the Blue Blazer to appear, but he doesn’t. The match heads into its end game when Piper catches a springboard cross body block attempt by Manik and counters it with a backbreaker. He decides to flip him over into a Boston crab, but Suicide breaks it by running over and flipping Piper out of the hold with some swinging headscissors. Suicide waits for Piper to get back to his feet, but Kidd comes up from behind and takes him down with a Russian legsweep. He pins, but Manik breaks it up. Piper strikes Manik and takes both him and himself over the top rope with a running clothesline. Back in the ring, Kidd goes for a double jump moonsault. Suicide rolls out of the way. However, Kidd lands on his feet. Suicide charges towards him and Kidd takes him over with a hurricanrana and a clutch pin, but Suicide just kicks out! Kidd runs to the ropes and tries for some tilt-a-whirl headscissors, but Suicide counters it into a tilt-a-whirl gutbuster. He lifts Kidd up onto his shoulders and gives him a rolling fireman’s carry slam. He covers for a 2-count, which Piper breaks up by grabbing his foot and pulling him away. Piper turns him over and slingshots him into the turnbuckle. Then, he runs to the ropes and gives Suicide a bulldog. Piper sees Manik climbing onto the ring apron and he charges at him to knock him off. Meanwhile, Suicide gets up and charges at Kidd, who stops him in his tracks with a kick and then gives him the Code Blue! He pins. 1…2…3!
Official Decision: Rowdy Roddy Piper & Tyson Kidd win by pinfall
*Commercial Break 4*
It’s the “Macho Man” Randy Savage and the lovely Miss Elizabeth! They come down to the ring and the Macho Man grabs the microphone to address the elephant in the room – the Illuminati. Savage says that the needle on the Richter scale is growing more and more frantic by the week. He eludes to the notion of Macho Madness increasing with the big reveal of a partnership between Hollywood Hulk Hogan, “Superstar” Billy Graham and “Classy” Freddie Blassie, last week. Macho Man heard that Graham wants to come after him and that’s fine. He won’t back down from that fight. The Macho Man has his eyes on the Superstar. However, he hasn’t come out here to challenge him. That match will have to wait for another night. Instead, since we have an open fight night, the Macho Man sees the opportunity to avenge his loss to Hollywood Hulk Hogan, two weeks ago. The Macho Man lays out the challenge to a rematch for the Mash-Up World Heavyweight Championship!
Here comes the Illuminati. “Classy” Freddie Blassie takes a few moments to rip into Savage for even suggesting that he’s worthy of a rematch against Hollywood Hulk Hogan. Blassie calls him a poor loser who cannot accept that he’s never been able to get the better of Hollywood Hulk Hogan and, furthermore, he’ll never get the better of “Superstar” Billy Graham.
He hands the microphone over to Hogan, who continues by saying that, while he’d love to add another notch to his belt by beating Savage, yet again, he feels like he doesn’t want to waste his time. Besides, he says, his belt already has too many notches on it from the many times he’s already beaten Savage. So he’s going to decline the open fight night challenge and tells Savage to consider it his lucky day. The Macho Man responds by reminding Hogan that no one can refuse a challenge, tonight, as stipulated by Cyrus. Hogan replies that the rules don’t apply to him because he’s the Mash-Up World Heavyweight Champion. He’s here as a special attraction to pop the ratings and get paid handsomely for it. He’s not a member of the AGPW roster, so he doesn’t have to do anything he doesn’t want to do.
Then, he hands the microphone over to “Superstar” Billy Graham, who tells Savage that if he’s looking for a fight against the Illuminati, he’d better refocus his bifocals and take a good look at “Superstar” Billy Graham. Then, he says that he didn’t come all of the way from California with “Classy” Freddie Blassie not to get his hands on Savage. Graham tells him that he’s gunning for a showdown against AGPW’s most dangerous man and that when he’s through with him, he’ll send Savage packing to a retirement community back in his home state of Florida. Savage gives Graham a long hard look and then tells him that since he can’t get another match against the yellow-bellied Hulkster, he might as well as get his revenge upon the “Superstar,” now! Savage calls his bluff by challenging him to a match, right now! Graham can’t turn it down or else he faces a suspension. Savage reminds Graham of this while he confers with Hogan and Blassie about what to do. Finally, Graham accepts the challenge ad he begins to march towards the ring flanked by Hogan and Blassie. Just as Graham reaches the ring apron, he makes a long pause before entering the ring. Savage is focuses and waiting for him to entered, when he gets attacked from behind!
It’s Bad Influence – Christopher Daniels and François Kazarian! Another pair of men from “Classy” Freddie Blassie’s backyard. Graham and Hogan enter the ring to join in on the fun. It’s now a 4-on-1 flogging of Savage. While this is going on, Blassie looks at a helpless Miss Elizabeth and brings her to tears as he harasses her and urges her to look on at her man. Inside the ring, Graham gives Savage a bearhug, Kazarian gives him the Fade to Black piledriver, Daniels lands the Best Moonsault Ever and Hogan finishes it off with the leg drop. Blassie hands Hogan a can of spray paint, but then he hands it off to Graham and he spray paints a yellow streak down Savage’s spine.

Chris Hero is out. He comes to the ring with one goal in mind. He’s looking to gain fame, fortune and notoriety. However, he hasn’t found any of those things yet. He’s been racking up wins on the AGPW undercard for a few months now, but not getting noticed for being the most dangerous competitor in professional wrestling. Afterall, he concusses with his kicks and KOs with his elbows. However, to date, nothing he has done, no one he has faced has been notable or noteworthy enough for him to get noticed for defeating those opponents. However, with tonight’s open fight night stipulation in full effect, this will finally give him the chance to make a name for himself. Now, he can challenge one the big behemoths of professional wrestling and prove to the world that Chris Hero cannot be stopped from making it to the top. However, before he can issue his challenge, he’s interrupted!
In what is bound to win AGPW the weekly highlight awards for Mash-Up Wrestling Play of the Week and Ratings Pop of the Week - notorious bad guy, “No Class” Bobby Bass comes to the ring for the first time in about two months. Bass grabs a microphone and starts out by saying that the happiest day he’s had in quite some time was the day Chief Morley was fired. The man was holding him down. He was keeping “No Class” Bobby Bass off TV. For what reason, no one will ever know. Bass says that he thought things might change around here, now that Morley’s gone. However, in the two weeks since his firing, Bass is still not getting booked. He knows that everyone cowers in fear at the prospect of having to face him. However, as Bass says, he’s a ratings machine and The Network needs to realize that the people want to see “No Class” Bobby Bass rip somebody’s head off, week in and week out. And with that idea in mind, Bass is here to challenge Chris Hero to a match, so that he can give Hero what he wants – fame – or better yet, infamy, after Bass is through decapitating Hero!
VS.
“No Class” Bobby Bass vs. Chris Hero
They lock up. Bass gets Hero into a side headlock. Hero backs into the ropes and shoves him off, sending him running across the ring. Hero moves out the center of the ring and ducks a clothesline attempt. Bass puts on the breaks and turns around. Hero knocks him out cold with a Hangman’s Elbow! He pins for the win. The match lasts about 20-seconds from bell-to-bell.
Official Decision: Chris Hero wins by pinfall
As Hero is having his hand raised by the referee, he takes a kendo stick shot to the back! And another! And another! It’s Chris Candido! Candido has him down and puts the boots to him. Then, he waits for Hero to get up and whacks him in the face, breaking the kendo stick! Candido sits down on him and pounds away at his forehead. He gets up and asks for a microphone. Hero’s been busted open. Candido talks. He says that the reason Chris Hero isn’t famous for beating him is because he scammed his way to victory without even registering a pinfall on him. Candido calls Hero a gutless, pathetic excuse for a wrestler. Finally, Candido tells him that if he ever wakes up one morning and tells himself that he actually, truly wants to become famous, he should show up to work, walk down to the ring and say, “Chris Candido,” and he’ll get exactly what he’s looking for.
SoCal Val is backstage with Gail Kim. She asks Kim to comment on what happened to her last week, when she was blindsided by her fellow Torontonian, “Top Shelf” Trish Stratus. Kim tells us that Stratus’ actions were the opening salvo to a war that cannot be fought because Stratus is employed by another company and she just chooses to crash the party whenever it best suits her. She says there is very little she can do about it since she suspects that The Network has no incentive to keep her off TV when she does appear – because it helps uptick the ratings (proof that Kim is smart enough to have already realized what the AGPW landscape looks like). However, she says that she won’t forget what happened and she’ll be watching and waiting to see if Stratus ever does return. If she does, she’ll make sure that Stratus gets what she deserves. As for the Fabulous Moolah, Kim says that while Moolah is a legendary figure in our sport, her feeling of entitlement to the spotlight is unwarranted. Kim says that no one is entitled to anything and that if Moolah wants to try to get in her face about it, she’ll quickly learn that it is mistake.
*Commercial Break 6*
Tonight’s open fight night theme brings back a familiar open challenge of a different sort. The Iron/Kurrgan Claw Challenge! “Killer” Karl Krupp has the microphone and throws out the open challenge to anyone and everyone in the arena, right now. He dares some foolish brave souls to try to earn themselves a big pay day by going at least 10 seconds in his Iron claw or The Acadian Giant’s Kurrgan Claw. When it becomes clear that nobody is interesting in playing their crooked game, both big men decide to force some ‘lucky contestant’ from the audience. As they both leave the ring and look for a pair of unfortunate souls to pick out of the front row, the front row fans are spared the pair and suffering when The Hurricane and Rosey appear!
They come to act every bit the pair of superheroes that The Blue Blazer and company are not. They are here on the side of the people and come to rescue by halting Krupp and Kurrgan in their tracks with an open fight night challenge to a tag team match, right now!
w/ VS.
The Hurricane & Rosey w/ Mighty Molly vs. “Killer” Karl Krupp & “The Acadian Giant” Kurrgan
The fight is on as soon as the challenge is made. The Hurricane and Rosey run down to ringside, and Krupp and Kurrgan greet them there for a brawl. The Hurricane gives up a lot of size in this match as Krupp is the next smallest man in the match and he weighs in at nearly 300 lbs. However, the size disadvantage doesn’t hurt him, as he makes up for it with his superior speed and explosive offense. Granted, while brawling at ringside, Krupp seems to put a severe beating into him. However, when they enter the ring and Krupp goes for a running avalanche splash, The Hurricane quickly gets out of the corner and follows up with an enzigurri kick to put the big man down. He tags out and Rosey comes in to do some damage, but Krupp eventually fights back and tags out to The Acadian Giant. The two biggest men in AGPW lock up. Kurrgan enters the ring with the advantage, but it whittles away as Rosey fights his way back into the contest. Rosey tags out and The Hurricane takes Kurrgan off of his feet with a big missile dropkick! He keeps the big man grounded with a standing senton splash and then knocks him silly with a shining wizard! The Hurricane goes out to climb the turnbuckle, but then gets distracted by the melee happening at ringside as Sensational Sherri, Portia Perez and Nikki Matthews have come out to seek revenge against Might Molly. Shortly thereafter, Taylor Wilde enters the fray.
The referee and Rosey get into the middle of it to try to restore order. Rosey is intent on protecting Molly. Meanwhile, Krupp drags Kurrgan to his corner and fakes the tag. He grabs a distracted Hurricane and slingshots him into the ring by yanking on the top rope. After an eye gauge through The Hurricane’s mask, he buries a knee into his abdomen and executes a big powerbomb! Then, he locks on the Iron Claw. As the referee turns his attention back to the match, The Hurricane taps out, ending the match.
Official Decision: “Killer” Karl Krupp & “The Acadian Giant” Kurrgan win by submission
After the match, Krupp won’t let go of the hold. Rosey tries to come to his aid, but gets cut off by Kurrgan. Krupp gets up and joins in the fight. They take him to the outside and double team the big superhero. They are fixing to systematically destroy the 400+ pounder when…
… Samoa Joe runs out! Joe slides into the ring, runs across it and takes out the bad guys with a Samoan sized suicide dive! He continues to dismantle the duo of Krupp and Kurrgan with some stiff chair shots and he rips the ring steps apart and drops a portion of them onto each man, incapacitating the dangerous duo. Samoa Joe is finally here!
*Commercial Break 7*
VS. w/
Leo Burke & “The Iceman” Dean Malenko vs. Yvon “Le Lion” Robert & Yoshihiro Tajiri w/ Frenchy Martin
Leo Burke and Dean Malenko go into this match somewhat slower due to the early attack, which of course featured the Montréal Mafia’s signature spiked piledrivers. It is their preferred way of taking their enemies out. The match is largely one-sided after the opening bell, with the healthier duo of Yvon “Le Lion” Robert and Yoshihiro Tajiri doing plenty of damage and exploiting their challenger’s weaken state. The earlier spiked piledrivers sets things up nicely for Robert, who likes to finish his matches by getting his opponents to submit to his rolling arm trap headscissors, and for Tajiri, who likes to kick his opponents’ heads off with shining wizards and his lethal buzzsaw kick. Although hurting from the attack in this evening’s opening segment, Burke and Malenko do a good job of ensuring that they stay in this match. They have an important goal in mind – to beat the International Heavyweight Champion and use that as leverage to get a title shot against him. A major turning point in the match occurs when Tajiri tries to whip Burke into the corner, but it is reversed. Burke charges in and Tajiri lifts up onto the turnbuckle to avoid contract. Burke hits the turnbuckle and then gets pulled into the tarantula. However, using the ropes on the same side of the ring where Malenko is standing on the apron and he runs over and delivers a mean diving dropkick to Tajiri’s head! It breaks the hold and frees up Burke for a rest. However, it causes all hell to break loose. Robert hops off the apron and circles the ring, while Frenchy Martin puts up a major stink over the move. Tajiri is laying on the floor, seemingly out of it. Robert and Malenko start throwing heavy blows at one another, and Dino Bravo and Mad Dog Vachon run out from the back. The referee hops out of the ring to try to break things up. A large number of officials rush down to ringside to try to prevent the North American Tag Team Champions from getting involved. The extra officials manage to hold Bravo and Vachon at bay and force them away from ringside. However, the actual referee officiating his match steps in between Robert and Malenko and gets shoves away into the guardrail by Robert, who then takes an enzigurri kick from Malenko! Meanwhile, Burke has just grabbed Tajiri and brought him into the ring. He covers him, but there is no referee. Malenko shouts at the extra referees to get one down to the ring. One of the referees runs back and counts the fall, but Tajiri gets a shoulder up on a long 2-count. Bravo and and Vachon break free from the officials and come back down to ringside. Bravo clubs Malenko with a running clothesline. Vachon climbs onto the ring apron, but gets dropkicked away by Burke. Robert trips him up, pulls him out of the ring and gives him a snap suplex on the floor! Meanwhile, Malenko has managed to fend off Bravo and then takes Robert down with a running clothesline. But then he gets taken out by Tajiri, who performs an Asai moonsault on him! Everyone is laying in a pile on the floor. Meanwhile, more officials come down to get rid of Bravo, Vachon, and even Frenchy Martin! The replacement referee is counting everyone out. Malenko and Tajiri are the first men to get up. They trade a couple of blows and fight with each other to try to get into the ring. Tajiri rolls in first, but Malenko follows and just beats the 10-count. Tajiri goes for the shining wizard, but Malenko avoids it. As Tajiri is getting up, Malenko grabs him and executes a gutwrench powerbomb! He locks on the Texas Cloverleaf. Tajiri tries to crawl to the ropes, but Malenko pulls him back. Tajiri looks like he is on the verge of tapping out when Robert whacks Malenko in the back of the head with the International Heavyweight Championship title belt! The referee immediately calls for the DQ finish. Robert sees Burke climbing into the ring with a steal chair in his hands. He grabs Tajiri by the arm and pulls him along as he bails out of the ring to avoid Burke.
Official Decision: “The Iceman” Dean Malenko & Leo Burke win by disqualification
Jeremy Borash: Wow! What an incredible night of action we’ve just had, fans! Tonight’s open fight night resulted in a wrestling heavy, action packed evening!
Ed Whalen: I would say it was a big success. However, the lawlessness and directionless of match bookings can’t possibly go on forever? Will AGPW finally get its new General Manager next week?
Jeremy Borash: Maybe! And where was The Blue Blazer, tonight? How will he respond to seeing a pair of ‘criminals’ defeat his justice league brethren?
Ed Whalen: Can anybody stop the Illuminati? It is growing in strength by the week!
Jeremy Borash: Maybe the better questions are: does anyone want to try to stand up to the Illuminati? And can “Macho Man” Randy Savage find any allies in his war with it!
Ed Whalen: And Samoa Joe is finally here! What will he do next week?
Jeremy Borash: And, finally, where do Dean Malenko and Leo Burke go from here in their war with the Montréal Mafia? Things aren’t going to get any easier for them when we are in Québec City next week for our first ever television taping in the province of Québec!
Ed Whalen: Fans, we have so many questions to ask, after tonight’s show. All we can do is urge you to tune in next week to see if we can find out any of the answers. Until then, this is Ed Whalen saying, in the meantime and in between time, have a wonderful week and bon adieu!
