Superstars don’t love, they play.
“Superstars Don’t Love” by Buck 65 (of Mount Uniacke, Nova Scotia), from the album 20 Odd Years (2011)
Ed Whalen: Ladies and gentlemen, and fans of all ages, welcome to Dynamite Saturday Night! We’re south of the border in Portland, Maine for this exciting for another exciting evening of professional wrestling. I’m Ed Whalen and my co-host is Jeremy Borash.
Jeremy Borash: Fans, our debut edition of Dynamite Saturday Nightwas was nothing incredible. Last week, we witnessed the first battle between Hollywood Hulk Hogan and “Macho Man” Randy Savage in over a decade!
Ed Whalen: Fans, if you missed it, I would implore you to log onto the official Mash-Up Wrestling Event Center website and stream it.
Jeremy Borash: Although it was a classic matchup for the ages, the match didn’t end without controversy.
Ed Whalen: That’s right. This ring-a-ding-dong-dandy of a match was ruined by the surprise appearance of “Superstar” Billy Graham!
Jeremy Borash: I’ve been told that “Superstar” Billy Graham and the Mash-Up Wrestling World Heavyweight Champion, Hollywood Hulk Hogan, are both expected to be here, tonight. What they might be up to is really anybody’s guess.
Ed Whalen: And in other big news, albeit maybe not all that unexpected, former International Heavyweight Champion, “The Iceman” Dean Malenko wants a re-match for the title that Yvon “Le Lion” Robert took from him a few short weeks ago. While it is customary for a defeated champion to get a chance to regain the title he lost, it doesn’t appear as though that custom will be respected in this case because of the fact that we no longer have a Chief of Staff on hand and The Network believes that Malenko is a ‘box office dud.’
Jeremy Borash: Speaking of the fact that Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling has lost its Chief of Staff, will a new Chief of Staff be appointed, tonight? And if not, will lawlessness reign supreme?
Ed Whalen: We will soon find out! Marc Blondin will get a word in with Cyrus, of The Network, following tonight’s opening match. Let’s get to tonight’s action!

Petey Williams vs. “Killer” Karl Krupp w/ “The Acadian Giant” Kurrgan
This match starts off with Petey Williams using his speed to nullify Karl Krupp’s weight and strength advantage. Williams inflicts a pile of damage early on simply by being too quick for Krupp to catch up to. However, the complexion of the match changes after a dropkick from Williams sends Krupp falling through the ropes and onto the floor. Williams runs to the far ropes and back to go for a between the ropes suicide dive, but Krupp moves and Williams slams into the guardrail. Krupp puts the boots to Williams and drops him across the guardrail before sending him back into the ring. Krupp uses his punch and kick offense to back Williams into a corner and beat him down into a mud hole. Krupp brings him out of the corner and gives him a bodyslam. After a pinfall gets only a 2-count, Krupp kicks Williams out of the ring and tries to follow, but the referee grabs him by the arm to hold him back. They get into a argument, which provides a good enough distraction for Kurrgan to attack Williams. Kurrgan lifts Williams into a two-handed chokehold, high up off of the ground. Eventually, Kurrgan roles Williams into the ring, where Krupp grabs him and applies the Iron Claw. Williams quickly taps out.
Official Decision: “Killer” Karl Krupp wins by submission
Marc Blondin is standing by with Cyrus and asks him for his comments regarding the replacement of Sean Morley as AGPW’s Chief of Staff. Cyrus tells us that we can rest assured that there are no plans of rehiring for the position of Chief of Staff. Blondin has a look of bewilderment on his face and asks him to clarify what arrangements will be made to the power structure of the company going forward. And who will the company’s new authority figure be? Cyrus says that the Chief of Staff role has been phased out since Sean Morley left the company. The position entailed managing the AGPW roster on behalf of Emile Duprée. However, now that AGPW is working in tandem with The Network to produce the best weekly sports entertainment show in all of Canada, a new General Manager will soon be appointment. That person will have a greater number of duties than the Chief of Staff because that person will have to serve the interests of The Network – and AGPW – and he or she will be chosen by The Network – and AGPW. Until the right person has been hired to fill the position, Cyrus will be calling the shots to ensure the best interests of the home viewer are served when they are watching Dynamite Saturday Night – just like he did last week by bringing the Mash-Up World Heavyweight Champion to our television screens. On that note, Blondin asks him what big things he has planned for tonight. Cyrus responds that one of the biggest female names in professional wrestling will be joining AGPW tonight. Blondin asks him who it is, but Cyrus would rather keep it a surprise. Which female superstar will make her debut tonight? Stay tuned to find out!

SoCal Val is backstage with Lance Storm, Rowdy Roddy Piper and Tyson Kidd. Storm wants to be serious for a moment. Piper also wants to be serious, but his serious face is supercharged with all kinds of Scottish rage. He is seriously raging at The Blue Blazer and his henchmen – Suicide & Manik. After he rattles off a litany of personal insults towards the masked maroons, Kidd wonders aloud what the roster of the Blue Blazer is. He has noticed that the Blue Blazer has yet to compete in a single wrestling match in AGPW. Lance Storm notes that Chief Morley once told him that the Blazer wasn’t a member of the roster, which is why he challenged the Blazer to an unsanctioned match, which he was too cowardly to compete in. Piper gets the crazy idea that maybe they should try to get the Blue Blazer officially added to the AGPW roster of active talent so that it would be easier for them to get their hands on him. Storm and Kidd don’t think it is such a bad idea, but wonder how they can do that. While they ponder over that thought, we go back to ringside for our next match of the evening. Lance Storm will be in action, later in the evening, when he faces “Marvelous” Marc Mero!
VS. w/
Junkyard Dog & Bo Dallas vs. Magnus & Antonio Cesaro w/ Maryse Ouellet
Despite that neither team has a history with one another, this has the feel of a big time match. This match pits two of the top teams in the tag team division against one another. Although, both teams are coming off of major losses at PRIMETIME LIVE, a few weeks ago, and are looking to get back on the right track with a win in this match. It’s a competitive match between two mostly evenly matched teams. After a few minutes of back and forth action, things eventually settle in with Bo Dallas playing the role of the face in peril. Magnus and Antonio Cesaro do a wonderful job of making quick tags and exploiting the 5-second count to work plenty of double team maneuvers into their offensive attack on Dallas. All that the Junkyard Dog can do, for his part, is get comfortable on the ring apron and urge the crowd to try to help Dallas rally back into the match. At one point, a miscalculation with a running clothesline attempt by Magnus creates an opening for Dallas, who goes for a dropkick, but Magnus clutches the ropes to avoid running into it. He waits for Dallas to get back up and tackles him to the mat. Several punches later and a shot at JYD makes the referee busy trying to keep JYD in his corner and allows Magnus and Cesaro to work some illegal moves into the match, since legal ones aren’t getting Dallas to stay down for a 3-count. Dallas is in a bad way. After Cesaro works him over with a few more moves, he tags Magnus. He climbs the turnbuckle while Cesaro gives Dallas a long Cesaro Swing. After tossing him out of the swing, Magnus comes flying off of the turnbuckle with an elbow drop. He pins, but JYD breaks up the count. Cesaro enters the ring and JYD goes on a tear, knocked down Cesaro and Magnus over and over again with everything he’s got. JYD removes Cesaro from the ring with clothesline over the top rope. He gets into a three point stance and tackles Magnus hard. JYD goes back to the ring apron and waits for the tag. Dallas makes the hot tag. JYD comes in and drops Magnus with a hard headbutt. He keeps giving him headbutts while he’s down on the mat.
Meanwhile, on the outside, behind the referee’s back. Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch are exacting their revenge on Cesaro for last week’s attack. They toss him into the guardrail and beat him around a bit. Murdoch gives him a suplex on the floor, then picks him up and holds him in place for a superkick from Cade! Back in the ring, JYD goes for the Thump too soon. Magnus slides out the back and shoves him into the turnbuckle. He hears Maryse screaming to forget about JYD and help his partner. He sees Murdoch and Cade standing over Cesaro, with the fans cheering on their attack. Magnus rushes over and slides out of the ring to check on his fallen teammate while Cade and Murdoch leave the area, pleased with their handiwork. Maryse comes over and tells Magnus to put his focus back on the match. He hops onto the ring apron and starts climbing the turnbuckle. JYD climbs it from the inside to meet him at the top and give him a big superplex! JYD picks him up and executes the Thump. He covers for the 3-count and the win.
Official Decision: Junkyard Dog & Bo Dallas win by pinfall

At this time, the Montréal Mafia, led by Yvon “Le Lion” Robert and his right-hand man and mouthpiece, Frenchy Martin, take to the ring. Last week, the entire group took to the ring to celebrate Le Lion’s first television appearance as the AGPW International Heavyweight Champion. This week, they’ve taken over the ring to celebrate Robert’s first television appearance on American soil as the International Heavyweight Champion. Mention is made of the fact that the name of the title makes Robert not only the champion reigning over Canada, but also to other states including those belonging to the United States of America. This draws jeers from the assembled crowd in the Cumberland County Civic Center. Robert and Martin continue to cut a bilingual promo, once again asserting that Le Lion is the king of the jungle we know as Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling. Not to be forgotten, the North American Tag Team Champions, Dino Bravo and Mad Dog Vachon, are in the ring and they stake their claim as the champions of the entire continent of North America, which demands that the crowd show them the respect they feel they deserve.
Their self-congratulatory speeches are finally put to an end by the appearance of Leo Burke, who comes out to state that the Mafia love-in is a sham. Burke raises challenges to the legitimacy of each champion’s claims to the gold by noting recent shenanigans used to prevent he and Malenko from becoming North American Tag Team Champions, as well as to steal the gold from Malenko and to keep Burke from winning the International Heavyweight Championship. He notes that Bravo and Vachon, both of whom forfeited the right to continue in the title match at PRIMETIME LIVE, took him out of the match with an illegal 2-on-1 assault. In light of that fact, Burke demands that Robert face him for the gold tonight. Robert claims to be a fighting champion – just as Malenko claimed when he was champion – but argues that Burke isn’t worthy of a title shot. The Mafia claim that Burke has been sniffing around at the top prize for several months now, constantly challenging for the title and never winning it. They say that it is pretty clear to them that Burke needs to accept that he isn’t a worthy challenger to the title and move on. Realizing that arguing the matter further isn’t likely to get him anywhere, Burke backs off from the argument. However, he gets the final word in, telling the Mafia that there is no quit in Leo Burke. In other words, he says, he’ll never give up and he promises that he will get what he wants one way or the other. Burke leaves the scene and the Montréal Mafia laugh at him as we go to commercial.
*Commercial Break 3*
Marc Blondin is with “Macho Man” Randy Savage, who starts by saying that he should be standing in front of this TV camera addressing all of the fans as the Mash-Up Universe’s new World’s Heavyweight Champion. However, he was denied the title. Not by Hollywood Hulk Hogan. No, you see, the Macho Man had him beat. He had him down for the count. No, the Macho Man was denied the title by another man: “Superstar” Billy Graham. Savage says that he doesn’t think that Billy Graham truly understands the magnitude of the mistake he made last week on Dynamite Saturday Night. Savage says that what Graham did last Saturday was akin to a tectonic plate shift. The earth shook that night and not for the better. As he explains it, whenever the earth shakes, the aftermath of that event is never pretty. It always creates madness. The Madness is rising! And when it reaches a fever pitched, “Superstar” Billy Graham will not be able escape it! The Superstar has been warned.
VS.
The Fabulous Moolah vs. Rosita
Moolah wrestles in her debut match against the very young, short, sultry Latina grappler, Rosita. This is effectly a squash match for Moolah. She dominates from the opening bell to final bell, with only a brief offensive rally for Rosita tucked into the middle of the match. The wily ring veteran is no match for Rosita. Moolah wins this match quite handily, finishing off Rosita with a vicious Moolah Whip followed by a nasty backbreaker.
Official Decision: The Fabulous Moolah wins by pinfall
Following the match, Moolah grabs a microphone and says that she heard the announcement made by Cyrus earlier about one of the biggest names in female pro wrestling appearing tonight. She says that whoever it is better not believe the hype because there is no bigger name in female pro wrestling than that of the Fabulous Moolah. She goes on to say that should whoever it is actually think she can steal her spotlight – Moolah’s spotlight – she’ll get her head knocked off by the real number one woman in professional wrestling, the Fabulous Moolah!

Marc Blondin is backstage with “Marvelous” Marc Mero and his personal trainer, Candice Michelle, who thinks it is an absolute travesty that no one’s been talking about Mero lately. Blondin suggests that it could be because he’s 0-2 at the last two big AGPW events and that the fans may believe that his stock is dropping, so to speak. Mero and Candice Michelle get offended. Candice Michelle says that Mero’s stock is not on the decline. He’s had bad luck recently, but that all ends tonight when Mero faces Lance Storm. Mero chimes in and tells us that we can expect him to be victorious. He says that Candice Michelle has been training him extra hard. They’ve refined his training routine and he feels better than ever. He will prove that tonight. The “Marvelous One” is not someone to be ignored.
w/ VS.
Robbie E w/ Robbie T vs. “Primetime” Elix Skipper
After being away from action for a long time due to an undisclosed injury, “Primetime” Elix Skipper makes his return to active competition in AGPW in a match against Robbie E. Skipper is clearly the better of the two, but Robbie E gets his fair share of offense in – given the overall shortness in its length – and controls portions of the match, thanks in large part to the helping hands of his bouncer, Robbie T. However, in the end, the showstopping, human highlight reel, wows the crowd with his incredible moves and overcomes the odds to pick up the victory after executing Sudden Death on Robbie E. Elix Skipper is back in “Primetime” in AGPW!
Official Decision: Elix Skipper wins by pinfall
“The Iceman” Dean Malenko finds Leo Burke in the backstage area and says he wants a word with him. He tells Burke that he realizes that they both have the same goal of becoming the International Heavyweight Champion, which should make them opponents. However, he proposes that they work together, just as they have done in the past when they’ve been thrown together as a tag team to compete against common enemies like Test & Marc Mero or Dino Bravo & Mad Dog Vachon. He thinks they should form a partnership that will last as long as it is necessary for them to take down the entire Montréal Mafia. He says that by working together, against whoever stands in their way, whether it be members of the Mafia or not, they can force their way into be recognized as the undisputed top contenders for the International Heavyweight Championship and force the suits to let either or both of them get at Yvon Robert and take the title away from him. Burke takes a moment, then responds that he likes The Iceman’s plan and agrees to form a bond with him to work together to make it to the top, dismantle the Montréal Mafia, one by one, until they get at the untouchable king of the jungle, Yvon Robert, and remove him from his golden throne. They shake hands to seal the deal.

The moment has finally arrived for the reveal of one of the biggest names in female professional wrestling. SoCal Val stands in the ring to announce the arrival of …
… Gail Kim to Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling! Kim enters the ring to a decent pop. Val welcomes her to AGPW and asks her what brings her to the company. Kim says that she was watching the night that Trish Stratus made a surprise appearance in AGPW and called on all of the Canadian professional wrestlers competing around the world to come home and help build the women’s wrestling division that would be the envy of the rest of the Mash-Up Universe. After some deliberation, she decided that she should come home and compete in front of the AGPW fans across its territory, including places like St. John’s, Charlottetown, Moncton, Halifax, Saint John and Portland, Maine (cheap heat gets the big pops)! Now that she’s arrived she intends on playing a key role in the rise of the women’s division and says that she has her sights set on winning AGPW gold as soon as a women’s championship is established.
Hold the phone! It’s “Top Shelf” Trish Stratus! She’s here making her second unsanctioned appearance in AGPW and she’s interrupting Gail Kim’s debut speech. Stratus enters the ring and asks for a microphone of her own. She welcomes Gail Kim to AGPW and thanks her for listening to her words of wisdom, from one proud Canadian to another. Stratus tells Kim that she’ll make a great addition to the women’s roster and that she’ll be the best Canadian female grappler in the company, that is, until AGPW finally installs the “Top Shelf”. Kim tells Stratus that she has a lot of respect for her, but says that she doesn’t understand what all of the bravado is for and thinks that it is pointless to argue over who the better wrestler is since she’s employed by the neighbouring territory – BCCW. Stratus tells Kim that she makes a valid point about it being pointless to argue who the better wrestler is when the irrefutable answer to the question is Trish Stratus! Kim has heard enough and tells Stratus to quit blowing hot air. She tells Trish that if she wants to prove she’s the best woman in the game, she should bring it – now! Stratus starts yelling, “You would love that, wouldn’t you? Wouldn’t you?” When…
… we get the Fabulous Moolah on the entrance set. Moolah tells both of them that they need to shut up and suggests that they both get out of dodge or else she’ll do to them what she did to Rosita earlier in the evening. Kim is watching Moolah with her back turned to Stratus, who takes the opportunity to strike her fellow Torontonian in the back. She pummels away at Kim for a few short seconds and then gives her the Stratusfaction! Stratus grabs a mic, looks at Moolah and tells her that she’s looking at professional wrestling’s “Top Shelf” and that she’s too high for Moolah to reach!

Lance Storm vs. “Marvelous”Marc Mero w/ Candice Michelle
Lance Storm and Marc Mero start things out with a bit of chain wrestling. Mero, although maybe not the kind of guy you would call a ring general, more than holds his own in the sequences. He follows Storm’s every move without a problem. However, after the first couple of minutes, Storm is starting to take charge of the mat based game and blocks all of Mero’s reversal attempts. When Mero finally finds a way to break free, by getting to the ropes, he changes the complexion of the match with a thumb to the eye and a back rake. After that, Mero gets a mini-rally going, but Storm eventually fights back. The match is very back and forth until it spills outside, where attempts to whip Storm into the guardrail, only to end up going into it off of a reversal. Storm charges at him, but Mero back bodydrops him to the floor. Mero hops over the guardrail keeps delivering punches. They get surrounded by member of the crowd on the arena floor. The referee tries to keep up with the brawling, but is continuously cut off from the action by the many spectators who are crowding around. As the brawl continues, Storm eventually sends Mero crashing into a row of seats with a superkick, after which he celebrates with several fans. When he finally asks them to move so that he can get at Mero, again, the sea of fans parts to find Manik waiting with a chair in his hands. He tosses it at Storm, who catches it, and then dropkicks it into his face! Storm spins around in a complete daze and gets speared into the backside of a row of seats by Suicide!
The referee calls off the rest of the match. Mero and Candice Michelle argue with the referee over the ruling of the match. Meanwhile, Rowdy Roddy Piper and Tyson Kidd run out from the back and into the crowd to come to the aid of Storm, but Suicide and Manik make a clean getaway before they arrive at the scene of the crime.
Official Decision: Lance Storm wins by disqualification
*Commercial Break 7*
When we come back from the commercial break, we’re treated to recaps of the footage of Storm getting a steel chair dropkicked into his face and then getting speared into the back side of a row of metal arena floor seats. Then, there is footage of Storm being attended to by EMTs and getting stretcher out of the arena, from the commercial break. As Storm is being led to the ambulance, Kidd walks along the side of the stretch with the EMTs, trying to get a response from Storm, while Piper follows behind them, vowing to get revenge and shouting out a dare to The Blue Blazer to magically appear so that he can serve up a heaping serving of Scottish styled justice!
*Eric Bischoff = “Classy” Freddie Blassie*
What is happening here? Hollywood Hulk Hogan is accompanied to the ring by “Classy” Freddie Blassie. Ed Whalen and Jeremy Borash speculate about what the appearance of the Mash-Up World Heavyweight Champion and “Classy” Freddie Blassie might signal. They note the two obvious connections between the men: 1) the Hollywood Connection (Hollywood is in the champ’s name; and Blassie settled there after being a fixture in Los Angeles for many years as WWA’s biggest draw); and 2) “Classy” Freddie Blassie is the man who first brought Hollywood Hulk Hogan into the WWF and managed him as a rookie. Hogan and Blassie signal to the broadcast position for Jeremy Borash to enter the ring with a microphone. He comes and they tell Borash that it is his lucky day because he is going to get an exclusing interview with Mash-Up’s World Heavyweight Champion, Hollywood Hulk Hogan!
Hogan begins by cutting a ruthless promo about how there is nobody in the world – and certainly not in AGPW – who can test his might. Hogan stands up next to mountains and chops them down with the edges of his hands – he is that good! He backs his claims by noting how the biggest name in AGPW challenged him to a match, last week, and lost. He says that he clearly has nothing more to prove in this territory, but due to his contractual obligations he will continue to appear here for the next few weeks, defending his title against a parade of nobodies like Taka Michinoku, Eric Young and Al Snow.
However, he continues, there is one other good reason for him to continue to appear in AGPW – and that is to oversee a shift in power in AGPW landscape; to lead the charge and pave the wave for the Illuminati to invade another territory in its quest for global domination, with the ultimate goal of creating a professional wrestling monopoly for Vince McMahon Jr and Toots Mondt to oversee. Yes, the Illuminati has crossed the border into Canada and it will spread like wildfire. Hogan says that is why “Classy” Freddie Blassie is here.
Blassie takes the microphone and cuts a promo explaining the ties that bind him to Hollywood Hulk Hogan and to the McMahon Family. He and the McMahons are long-time friends. The loyalty and mutual respect that they have for one another means he will go to bat for the McMahons anytime they need it and, now, they need it. Blassie explains that Vince McMahon Jr. and Hollywood Hulk Hogan called him at his home in Los Angeles to ask him to guide the Illuminati to achieve its ultimate goal of bringing AGPW under the influence of its growing empire. They asked him to accompany Hogan on his tour of AGPW and to bring with him a group of men that can be trusted to work with him to achieve this goal. Without hesitation, he agreed to do it. Blassie notes that he identified a group of men in his own backyard who he will guide to the top of AGPW. Then, he says that the first piece of the puzzle, the biggest square on the pegboard is a man that he promises will take AGPW by storm and help the Illuminati achieve its ultimate goal inside of the ring – “Superstar” Billy Graham!
Graham comes to the ring and introduces himself to AGPW. Along the way, he has a few choice words for “Macho Man” Randy Savage and urges the fans to pay close attention to him because there is nobody else in AGPW worth seeing.
*Vince McMahon = Jeremy Borash
The Grand Wizard = “Classy” Freddie Blassie
Bruno Sammartino = Randy Savage*
Ed Whalen: The evil empire has arrived in Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling in the form of a Hollywood blockbuster – the Illuminati, headed by Hollywood Hulk Hogan, “Classy” Freddie Blassie and “Superstar” Billy Graham. It looks like a match made in hell for the Macho Man! Fans, thank you for joining us this week on Dynamite Saturday Night. Don’t forget to tune in next weekend. Until then, this is Ed Whalen saying, in the meantime and between time, we wish you a bon adieu, Canada!
