Ed Whalen: Hello, Atlantic Canada, and welcome to Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling on ASN! I’m Ed Whalen and this is Jeremy Borash. Fans, we’re in for a big show, tonight, primarily because the “Macho Man” Randy Savage will be in wrestle in his first singles match on Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling!
Jeremy Borash: That’s going to be something that you won’t want to miss! But, not only that, I’ve also been told that Yvon “Le Lion” Robert will be in action against Tyson Kidd and Johnny Devine is schedule to face one of his long-time Team Canada partners, the very strange fan favourite, Eric Young.
Ed Whalen: Plus Emile Duprée is in the building and rumour has it that he has a big announcement to make. What could it be?
Jeremy Borash: Maybe it has something to do with a new television deal, which he alluded to last week in conversation with his Chief of Staff, Sean Morley.
Ed Whalen: Speaking of Chief Morley, what will he have to say about being scheduled for a No Disqualification match against Test at PRIMETIME LIVE? Surely that must come as a shock to him.
Jeremy Borash: You’re probably right, Ed. He probably never expected that he would have to enter the ring to compete in a match.
Ed Whalen: Fans, there’s so much that we could talk about from last week’s show, but there isn’t enough time right now. We have to go to the ring for our first match of the evening!
Except it would appear as though our first match won’t be happening just yet. Frenchy Martin and the North American Tag Team Champions, Dino Bravo and Mad Dog Vachon, have interrupted tonight’s show. They are delaying the first contest because they believe that they have more important matters to address, namely the gross injustices of one Leo Burke, which led to Mad Dog Vachon being denied the International Heavyweight Championship. They rip into the #1 contender and the International Heavyweight Champion, Dean Malenko, alike, and claim that Mad Dog Vachon should be the true International Heavyweight Champion. Mad Dog Vachon has some very pointed comments for Leo Burke for putting his nose where it doesn’t belong. He wants Leo Burke in the ring, tonight! And he promises Burke that he’s going to rip all of his limbs off.
Leo Burke has heard enough of it. He comes out and stops short of the ring. He tells Vachon that he doesn’t deserve to be the International Heavyweight Champion because the title is supposed to be won in a one-on-one match, not three-on-one. The entire Mafia takes great exception to his comments, but Burke refuses to retract his statement. He then accepts Vachon’s challenge. Right after he agrees to the match, he’s shoved from behind into the ringpost.
It’s Tajiri! He continues the assault by putting the boots to Burke. Then, he picks up Burke and tosses him into the ring, where Martin, Bravo and Vachon stomp away on him, until…
… “The Iceman” Dean Malenko storms the ring with a chair in hand. Martin and Vachon scatter, but Bravo takes a shot to the face! Nothing more comes of it, as Tajiri grabs Bravo, by the foot and pulls him out of the ring to safety! Malenko looks at Martin, points at Bravo, points at the belt he’s wearing and tells him that tonight is Bravo’s turn to lose! And so, later tonight, we’ll see Leo Burke versus Mad Dog Vachon and Dean Malenko defend his title against Dino Bravo!

Chief Morley arrives outside of a room with the name “Emile Duprée” on it. He goes to open it, but a staffer stops him and tells him that he cannot go in. Morley reminds the staffer than he is Duprée’s Chief of Staff and he can meet with him anytime he pleases. The staffer apologizes, but tells him that Duprée insisted upon no visitors. Morley shoves the staffer aside and opens the door. Inside we find Duprée signing his name on what appears to be a contract and then shaking another man’s hand. Duprée greets Morley, who looks at the other man and asks him, “Who are you?”
The man looks at Morley and tells him, “My name is Cyrus and I’m from The Network. It looks like we’re going to be working very closely together starting in November. I look forward to it.” Then, Cyrus and Duprée exchange pleasantries and Cyrus leaves. Morley asks Duprée what all of that was about and he tells him that he’ll find out later. In the meantime, he guesses that he knows why Morley is there – to talk about the surprise announcement of his match with Test at PRIMETIME LIVE. Morley sits down and they begin to talk about it as we cut back to ringside for our first match of the evening.
VS.
Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch vs. Cuban Assassins
Our first match of the night sees Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch in tag team action against the Cuban Assassins. Cade and Murdoch appear to be reluctant tag team partners at this point. There has been a lot of tension and in-fighting between them lately, but they insist that everything is alright and that they will continue on as a team, despite the fractures in the foundation of their partnership growing bigger by the week. The Cuban Assassins are, well, the Cuban Assassins. They are brawlers that just don’t seem to give a crap about anything other than fighting. It’s an interesting match to begin the evening. Cade and Murdoch appear to be cold towards one another, but work together well in the early going. A miscue on a double team attempt sees Murdoch hit Cade with a jumping shoulderblock, which in turn leads to the Cuban Assassins gaining the upper hand in the match. They try to put the match away, Murdoch breaks up pin attempts on Cade, despite his partner having given him an earful for taking him down earlier in the match. The end of the match comes after Cade makes the hot tag to Murdoch, who has been increasingly receiving cheers as of late. He goes to town on both Assassins and eventually pulls off the Ace of Spades on CA Jr. The pinfall is broken up by CA Sr. Cade comes in to tangle with him. Cade sizes him up for a superkick, but he moves and Cade hits Murdoch! CA Sr. tries to attack, but Cade gives him a spinebuster. CA Jr. comes towards him and Cade knocks him out with a superkick. He grabs his fallen teammate and lays him down on top of CA Jr. to get the pinfall victory. After having his hand raised, Cade leaves the ring on his own, with Murdoch still unconscious on top of CA Jr.
Official Decision: Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch win by pinfall

Marc Blondin is standing by with Lance Storm. He asks Storm for his reaction to being the victim of another attack by the Blue Blazer. He also asks Storm about the accusation that he is continuously committing crimes. Storm isn’t pleased about constantly getting jumped from behind and he takes great offence to the unfounded claims that his is a criminal. He doesn’t understand what any of that is about because he considers himself to be a fine upstanding individual who obeys the letter of the law. He promises that when he gets his hands on the Blue Blazer, he’ll force him to quit speaking in riddles about these so-called crimes and he’ll rip the mask off of him so that the entire world can get a good look at what the face of a coward looks like.

Eric Young vs. Johnny Devine
Two weeks ago, Johnny Devine attacked his former Team Canada partners, Petey Williams and Eric Young. Driven by jealousy, he explained that he tired of standing in their shadows and that his star should shine brighter than either of theirs. Young is looking for a measure of revenge by defeating Devine in this one-on-one contest. It’s a fairly typical 6-minute cruiserweight match that ends with Eric Young fanning on a flying leg drop attempt and then Devine capitalizing on the mistaking by executing the Devine Intervention double-underhook piledriver to pick up the win. After the match, Devine grabs a microphone and says that defeating Young was a cakewalk and that what he really wants is a match against Petey Williams, who everyone thinks was the star of Team Canada. Devine claims that Williams is nothing compared to him and that he was the real star of Team Canada and he’ll prove it by beating him in the middle of this very ring.

Leo Burke vs. Mad Dog Vachon w/ Frenchy Martin
This match is the fallout from last week’s main event, where Leo Burke stopped Mad Dog Vachon from winning (or stealing) the International Heavyweight Championship from Dean Malenko. Vachon is itching to get some payback on Burke, who may be at a disadvantage going into this match as a result of being attacked by Tajiri and then stomped on by the entire Montréal Mafia, earlier in the evening. After the opening bell, they brawl to begin. However, Burke quickly tries to transition things into a slower, technical mat-based match, which significantly favours him. He succeeds at grounding Vachon and works to cut off the airflow to head with a variety of head and chinlocks. However, Vachon eventually makes it to his feet and breaks free of a headlock by shoving Burke away after backing into the ropes. Vachon sets up for a back body drop, but Burke stops short and gives him a knee-to-face facebuster. Burke sees Frenchy Martin up on the ring apron and tries to strike him, but Martin hops down. The referee warns Martin about his behaviour. While that’s happening, Burke goes back to pin Vachon, but ends up receiving a low blow and then gets pulled into a small package. The referee turns and counts a close 2-count. They get up and Vachone levels Burke with a stiff clothesline. After that, Vachon takes control. He chips away at Burke with his brawler style, which includes some illegal moves such as chokeholds, hair pulls, eye gauges and back rakes. After a while, Vachon decides that it is time to finish him off. He sets up for a piledriver and tries to lift him, but Burke counters it with a back body drop. Burke runs to the ropes and knocks him down again with a hard clothesline. Vachon gets up and Burke takes him back off of his feet with a missile dropkick from the second turnbuckle. Burke goes for the cover, but Vachon kicks out. Burke picks him up and gets a thumb to the eye. Vachon then shoulder tackles him and drives him into the corner. Vachon gives him a few shoulderblocks to the abdomen and then places Burke on the top turnbuckle. He climbs up and prepares for the superplex, but Burke holds onto the ropes and manages to shove Vachon to the canvass. He then decides to go for a diving elbow drop (Bret Hart style), but Vachon rolls away. Martin gets back up on the ring apron and gets the referee’s attention. Vachon gets up and spots his tag title belt sitting on the ring apron. He picks it up and as soon as Leo Burke gets to his feet, he runs over and hits him in the head with the belt. He tosses his belt to the floor as Martin gets down from the apron. Vachon grabs Burke and sets him up for the piledriver, but then he is hit in the back of the head with a title belt by Dean Malenko.
Dino Bravo and Tajiri rush to the ring, but Malenko leaves the ring. Tajiri follows him into the crowd, while Bravo stops at the ring to aid his fallen tag team partner.
Official Decision: Mad Dog Vachon wins by disqualification
We get a backstage shot of “Macho Man” Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth and they’re walking! What is this, the WWF Attitude Era? Anyhow, what that means is the Macho Man’s match is next!

Marc Blondin is with Petey Williams, who responds to Johnny Devine’s challenge with a resounding “yes!” Williams says he still finds it a little hard to believe that Devine would turn around and stab Eric Young and him in the back after they’ve been together for so long. Williams says that he looks forward to showing Devine that his sudden ego trip is completely unwarranted and that the reason he feels that he was always standing in Williams’ shadow is because he was always too lazy to live up to his true potential – more concerned with his looks and image than getting the job done in the ring. He senses that nothing has changed; that Devine is still the lazy unachiever that will fail to defeat him in a straight up one-on-one match. And so it is settled – Petey Williams will face Johnny Devine at PRIMETIME LIVE.

Shannon Moore vs. “Macho Man” Randy Savage w/ Miss Elizabeth
Shannon Moore attacks the Macho Man before the sound of the bell to start this one. He has something to prove here as a big win over Savage would move him far up the card after months of languishing at the bottom of the AGPW power ranks due to a prolonged losing streak. Moore looks good for about half a minute, but the Macho Man quickly turns the table back on him with a whip reversal and a dropkick. The Macho Man uses his speed and intensity to build momentum, as he runs at Moore and drives his elbow into Moore’s forehead, takes him down with arm drags and high knee lifts, and chokes him out with a hair-pull hangman over the top rope. Macho Man pretty much cruises straight to victory after a finishing sequence consisting of an atomic drop, clothesline, bodyslam and flying elbow drop.

SoCal Val is with “Marvelous” Marc Mero and Candice Michelle. She asks them for their opinion on “Macho Man” Randy Savage’s singles debut. Both Mero and Candice Michelle are less than impressed with his performance. Mero doesn’t feel like he’s done anything in that match to make him feel worried about defeating him at PRIMETIME LIVE. In fact, he thinks that Savage is a merely a shell of his former self. He thinks he’s lost a lot of the sizzle that made him what he once was and that makes himself the most marvelous wrestler on the planet. Candice Michelle also has a few choice words for Miss Elizabeth. “Marvelous” Marc Mero faces “Macho Man” Randy Savage at PRIMETIME LIVE, two weeks from tonight!
Yvon “Le Lion” Robert vs. Tyson Kidd
Tyson Kidd gets a tough assignment this week. He hasn’t been seen in a few weeks and his return to television puts him in the ring against the legendary Yvon “Le Lion” Robert. Kidd does surprisingly well for himself in this match. Having been trained in the Hart Family Dungeon, Kidd is no stranger to pain and he knows a thing or two about catch wrestling. Early on, keeps pace with Le Lion. However, the legendary catch grappler senses that Kidd is no slouch, so he really starts to pour it on. He focuses his holds, shoulder and elbow strikes on Kidd’s upper body. His game plan is to knock the wind out of him. Kidd, takes a beating, but eventually fights back and uses his speed to his advantage. Kidd is not only a good technician, but he uses the ropes to perfection, too. He runs into them well and springboards off of them to hit Robert with some offensive maneuvers that he fails to block. However, Kidd goes to the air one too many times. After a near fall, he decides to go for a running springboard moonsault, but Robert gets his knees up to block it. They both get up and Robert lays into with some stiff chops and applies an arm bar that he transitions into a short-arm clothesline. He scoops up Kidd and gives his a shoulderbreaker and then locks him into his rolling arm trap headscissors, forcing Kidd to tap out and take the loss. He may only have two matches under his belt, but Le Lion already looks like he’s on the fast track to the top of the AGPW power rankings.
Official Decision: Yvon “Le Lion” Robert wins by submission
SoCal Val is with Taylor Wilde. She wants to get a few comments from her regarding her match with Sensational Sherri, last week. The match ended in a double countout as both women fought into the crowd and failed to return to the ring. Wilde is not satisfied with the ending of the match and feels that she could have won the match if only she could have brought the action back into the ring.
Just then, Sensational Sherri appears and, wouldn’t you know it, she disagrees with Taylor Wilde. She rips into Wilde and goes on a tangent that ends with her claiming that there is no one in the world who can beat her. Wilde tells her that she hasn’t proven that she can beat anyone, let alone her, because she failed to do it last week. Then, she says that if they were to have a rematch, she’d only end up failing again. Sherri takes offence to that comment and shoves Wilde, who returns the favour and then they start grappling and pulling at each other’s hair. This tussle is soon broken up by backstage officials as we cut to commercial.

Marc Blondin gets a moment with Emile Duprée, who wishes to make a very important announcement. Duprée tells Blondin and the television audience at home that he is pleased to announce that Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling will continue to be seen in the Atlantic Canadian region on ASN, but that it will now move to a more favourable timeslot at 10 :00 pm AST. However, what’s even more exciting, he says, is that Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling will begin to be seen across the country from Québec to British Columbia on the CityTV television network. Furthermore, Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling’s brand new national weekly broadcast will be known as Dynamite Saturday Night and it will debut on Saturday, November 9, with a special 3-hour live broadcast. Exciting times are ahead for Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling!
“Killer” Karl Krupp and “The Acadian Giant” Kurrgan come to the ring. Krupp begins by talking about how the last challenger of his Iron Claw Challenge, Biff Wellington, could barely handle two seconds in the Iron Claw before begging for mercy. That’s what you are up against when you enter the ring with him. He says that no one can withstand the pressure of the claw. However, he’s not the only one with a deadly claw hold in his offensive arsenal. No, The Acadian Giant also has a claw hold that should be feared by all.
Kurrgan raises his hand in a claw grip and the fans begin to jeer him. Krupp hands the microphone over to Kurrgan, who starts telling the fans that they are ungrateful and a disgrace for booing one of their own. For he is the Acadian Giant, a local hero, movie star and legend from the nearby Acadian shores. He says that the people of Moncton and all of New Brunswick should be thanking him for raising the profile of the province and for finally putting the province on the map. The jeers rain down hard on him and he begins to show that vicious streak of anger that he is so well known for.
Krupp takes the microphone back and tells him that they are jealous of his success, of his fame and of his fortunes. They are jealous that they could never amount to anything in their lives. They are not blessed with the same talents, riches and fame as the mighty monster from Mannheim, Germany, or the gentle giant from Shediac, New Brunswick. He tells Kurrgan that the reaction of the people from where he calls home is proof that he made the right decision by joining forces with Krupp upon his return to AGPW.
And now, Krupp says, that Kurrgan should show his kindness and willingness to give back to the community by giving a lucky member of the audience a chance to become famous. He tells him that it is his turn to host the Kurrgan Claw Challenge for a chance to win $50 000! Kurrgan’s eyes light up and he walks over to the ropes, but stops at the sound of “Another One Bites the Dust”.
The Junkyard Dog comes out and he has a microphone in his hand and says that they have unfinished business. JYD says that Krupp and Kurrgan need to take a look at some footage from a few weeks ago. On the arena big screens, we see Krupp put JYD in the Iron Claw and as he does, JYD counts into the microphone 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 – Krupp starts shouting and demanding that the tape be cut off. JYD continues to count to 25 before the video footage ends. He looks to the ring and tells Krupp that he thinks he owes him $50 000 dollars. Krupp is incensed! Both he and Kurrgan exit the ring and start moving up the aisle towards JYD. Then, Bo Dallas comes out and together JYD and Dallas rush Krupp and Kurrgan. It’s a nasty brawl in the entrance aisle that continues towards the exit. A slew of AGPW officials show up to try to break it up, but they don’t have any luck. The brawling wrestlers disappear into the backstage area as we go to our final commercial break.

International Heavyweight Championship Title Match
“The Iceman” Dean Malenko vs. Dino Bravo w/ Frenchy Martin
“The Iceman” Dean Malenko vs. Dino Bravo w/ Frenchy Martin
There is a lot of tension in the air and the crowd is hot for this one. Animosity is now running high between the Montréal Mafia and Dean Malenko after Malenko nearly won, then nearly lost his match to Dino Bravo’s tag team partner, Mad Dog Vachon, last week. Also, Dean Malenko has twice gotten the better of the Mafia tonight. In the early goings of this match, it’s all Bravo, as he uses his power to win the initial grapple to start the match and just goes to town with power moves to hurt Malenko. Bravo shows why he is a champion and why it is no stretch of the imagination to think that Canada’s Strongest Man could become the International Heavyweight Champion, tonight. However, Malenko is resilient. The Iceman is a steely fighter who refuses to give up. He becomes the victim of a few pinfall attempts, but always kick out of them. He shows why he is the champion by capitalizing on a mistake by Bravo. Malenko gets whipped into the corner. Bravo flexes his big arms for the audience before charging in and slamming his shoulder on the ring post. The pause to show off gave the IHC the opening he needed to collect himself enough to be able to get out of harm’s way. Malenko, then focuses his offense on Bravo’s shoulder. The Man of 1000 Holds is no doubt preparing to give him a devastating submission hold of some kind that put so much pain and pressure on the shoulder that Bravo will have to give up. As Malenko continues to soften up that arm, we see Bravo’s backup emerge from the backstage area.
Mad Dog Vachon and Tajiri slowly make their way out to ringside. Malenko doesn’t notice this as his focus remains solely on his challenger. Martin directs Vachon around the ring to the opposite side of Tajiri. After giving Bravo a shoulderbreaker, Malenko covers for a 2-count. When he gets up from the pinfall attempt, he notices Vachon at ringside. He looks around to see that the Mafia surround the ring on three sides. The referee notices this two and starts ordering Tajiri and Vachon to get away from ringside. This gets Martin to blow up at the referee. With the referee now distracted by Martin, Tajiri and Vachon start climbing onto the ring apron. Malenko gets into a defensive position and waits for the first move.
Leo Burke helps him with his decision as he pulls Tajiri from the ring apron and punches away at him. Malenko attacks Vachon as he tries to enter the ring. Bravo gets up and attacks him from behind. He picks up Malenko and gives him a long airplane spin before finishing it off with a Samoan drop. Meanwhile, Burke gives Tajiri an overhead belly-to-belly suplex on the floor! Bravo goes for the pin. 1…2.. Burke gives him a double axehandle smash to the back of the head. The ref calls for the bell. Burke kicks at Bravo. Vachon charges at him and Burke turns to give him a Greco-Roman throw across the ring. Burke kicks at Vachon until he has fallen out of the ring. Bravo hits Burke from behind with some lumbering forearms to the back. However, he doesn’t get too far before Malenko gets involved. It’s two-on-one and they finish Bravo off by double clotheslining him over the top rope and out of the ring! Martin regroups his troops and decides to retreat. Meanwhile, in the ring, Burke and Malenko lock eyes and nod to each other in a sign of mutual respect.
Official Decision: Dino Bravo wins by disqualification
