“Hype Man” by Cadence Weapon (of Edmonton, Alberta), from the album Hope in Dirt City (2012)
This is Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling. We’re the real deal. We don’t need no fucking hype men.
Ed Whalen: Good evening, Atlantic Canada! Welcome to PRIMETIME LIVE! It’s I’m Ed Whalen and alongside me as always is Jeremy Borash! What an incredible night of wrestling action we have in store for you. We’re live in St. John, New Brunswick and we have 8 big wrestling matches in store for you over these next three hours.
Jeremy Borash: That’s not all. I had the chance to speak to AGPW Chief of Staff, Sean Morley, who has promised a few suprises along the way. What could be? I guess we’ll have to wait to find out.
Ed Whalen: I, for one, am very intrigued.
Jeremy Borash: I am, too. Morley is being tight lipped about what might be in store for us above and beyond the 8 matches that have already been announced.
Ed Whalen: And what a lineup of matches it is. First of all, you have the main event of “The Iceman” Dean Malenko defending his International Heavyweight Title against “Marvelous” Marc Mero. Most would say that Mero doesn’t stand a chance, but he has shown that between Candice Michelle and a lot of luck, he has all of the right ladies in his corner.
Jeremy Borash: In our other title bout, it is an all-Canadian affair, as the Montréal Mafia defend the North American Tag Team Titles against Petey Williams and Eric Young of Team Canada.
Ed Whalen: I’m really looking forward to that one. An associate member of Frenchy Martin’s Montréal Mafia, the “Japanese Buzzsaw,” Yoshihiro Tajiri will face off with the pride of Glasgow, Scotland, Rowdy Roddy Piper in a No Disqualification match! It might get very violent down here at ringside, Jeremy.
Jeremy Borash: I would bet on it. Not only in that match, but I would expect things could very easily get out of hand in some of our other matches, too. Especially with the Cuban Assassins in action against Chris Candido and Chris Hero; or when the Junkyard Dog battles “Killer” Karl Krupp.
Ed Whalen: And it might also get out of hand when New Brunswick’s own Leo Burke squares off with his former student, Test, in a 2 out of 3 Falls match!
Jeremy Borash: Whatever happens, I suspect that we might get caught in the middle of things, Ed.
Ed Whalen: Yes, fans, as you can see Jeremy and I will be calling tonight’s show from ringside for the very first time.
Jeremy Borash: Being this close to the action is only going to add to the excitement of tonight’s show!
Ed Whalen: Isn’t that the truth!
For our first surprise of the night, “Macho Man” Randy Savage enters the arena! After entering the ring and receiving a huge standing ovation, he joins Ed Whalen and Jeremy Borash at the broadcast table to add little bit of colour to tonight’s festivities.
We then shift over to the backstage area where SoCal Val is with Chris Candido, Sunny and Chris Hero. She wants to get a last word from each of them before they go into battle against the Cuban Assassins. Sunny wants Candido and Hero to destroy the Cubans and says that is what they will do. She wants to see them put out of commission for terrorizing her as of late. Candido says that he will defend Sunny with honour and they the Cubans will fail in both their ridiculous plot to try to steal her away from him and they will fail to win tonight’s match. The Young Knockout Kid, Chris Hero, is ready to show these big men why doing the wrong thing doesn’t pay in the end. Also, in the middle of his spiel against the Cuban Assassins, he wonders aloud whether it bothers Candido that he went from being in the main event at the last PRIMETIME LIVE to being the show opener of the second PRIMETIME LIVE in company history. This gets dirty looks from Sunny and gives Candido a moment of pause. They’re on their way to the ring and their match versus the Cuban Assassins is coming up right away after the commercial break.
The holder of professional wrestling’s longest title reign ever – The Fabulous Moolah is here! We spot her in a press box with Emile Duprée, Slade, and Chief of Staff, Sean Morley. Our play-by-play team, Whalen, Borash and Savage, speculate about her presence at tonight’s event. Is she simply a guest for the evening or will we be seeing more of her in the future?
We switch over to Marc Blondin, the newest member of the AGPW broadcast team, who is backstage with Frenchy Martin. He wants to get a few words from him concerning tonight’s tag team title bout. Martin refuses to respond. Blondin repeats the question and Martin responds by saying, “je t’ai entendu la première fois! Vous venez de la province de Québec et vous parlez la langue française, alors pourquoi vous me posez vos questions dans cette esti d’une langue?” (I heard you the first time! You are a French speaker from Québec, so why are you asking me questions in that foul language?). Blondin responds that this is an English language broadcast and Martin cuts him off – speaking only in French – stating that he doesn’t give a crap and that he refuses to placate anglos by doing an interview in their language when both he and the interviewer are francophones. He won’t stoop to Blondin’s level of selling out his heritage to get ahead in the ‘rest of Canada.’ He goes on to say that he doesn’t need to embarrass himself or forget where he’s from to get ahead outside of Québec because he was already ahead before he even stepped foot outside of Québec. Then, he says that he’s still ahead of the rest of the country because he represents the North American Tag Team Champions – both of whom are honest to God good men from La Belle Province! He promises that they will rise triumphantly over the brigade of losers who parade around AGPW calling themselves “Team Canada.” Moreover, he promises that the Mafia’s associate Japanese member, Yoshihiro Tajiri, will decimate Rowdy Roddy Piper. When he leaves, Blondin gives us a summary of Martin’s rant in English.

VS. w/
Cuban Assassins vs. Chris Hero & Chris Candido w/ Sunny
The opening match of the evening pits the deranged Cuban brawlers versus a pair of Chris’. We get started with Candido showing a bit of anger. He sees CAJr with his eyes locked on Sunny, who is outside of the ring. Sunny looks disturbed by his stare. Candido storms at him and the match gets underway. Candido is all over CAJr in the early going. He eventually goes for a pinfall, but he kicks out. Candido finally tags Hero into the match and he continues to bring the fight to him, but using a different style of offensive. Whereas Candido is showed us his technical finesse, Hero shows off his excellent striking abilities. The Assassins finally turn the tide on their opponents when, from the ring apron, CASr gives Hero a shot to the lower back with his knee as he is bouncing off of the ropes. The knee shot leads him right into an elevated 180 degree spinebuster. CAJr tags out and now CASr begins to beat down with his fists and feet. He throws in a few power moves for good measure. The Assassins make quick tags as they work on wearing Hero down. Hero eventually finds an opening to make the hot tag, which brings Candido back in do damage to both of his opponents. We come into the end game when Candido tries to send CAJr into the corner, only to have him reverse Candido back into the corner they came from, and sandwiching the referee between Candido and the turnbuckle. A full on brawl ensues from all 4-men. Sunny is cheering on both Chris’. Hero and CASr and trading blows. CASr sends Hero bouncing back into the ropes, but he comes back with a Hangman’s Elbow strike, only CASr ducks it and he hits Candido in the back of the head! CAJr tries to hit him, but Hero gives him an elbow strike, then several fast kicks before clotheslining him over the ropes and onto the floor. He turns around and sees CASr setting Candido up for the piledriver. CASr pauses and locks eyes with Hero. However, he doesn’t interfere. Hero turns his back to them and exits the ring. Sunny starts screaming at him to help Candido, and runs over to meet him. He shouts at her to back off. Back in the ring, CASr gives Candido the piledriver. He covers as the referee comes to and counts the pinfall.
After the match, the Assassins make plans to get at Sunny. They back her into a corner with no escape. Candido gets up and hears Sunny screaming her lungs off. He jumps out of the ring to come to her rescue, but gets nailed from behind with a steel chair by Hero! Hero continues to kick him while he’s down and the Assassins grab Sunny and carry her away, presumably to head to the airport to catch a flight to Havana!
Official Decision: The Cuban Assassins win by pinfall
*Commercial Break 2*
Returning from the commercial break, we see the Cuban Assassins make a break for a backstage exit. Cuban Assassin Sr. has a bunch of luggage and Cuban Assassin Jr. has Sunny under his arm. She’s kicking and screaming for help, but to no avail. They exit the arena and call on a town car (the kind with tinted windows) for a ride. It pulls up and stops. The trunk is popped and Cuban Assassin starts loading the luggage. Cuban Assassin Jr. opens the car door and out jumps a huge man in costume, who attacks him. The front passenger side door opens and a second man in costume joins the attack and tells Sunny to run to safety. She runs back into the building. Cuban Assassin Sr. finishes with the luggage when he sees his son getting dumped into a dumpster. He goes and attacks the smaller man, but then a woman in costume jumps out of the driver’s seat of the car, runs up from behind and knocks Cuban Assassin Sr. out with a shot to the back of the head from a large candle stick.
“Stand back! There’s a hurricane coming through!”
VS. w/
Al Snow & Chavo Guerrero vs. Magnus & Antonio Cesaro w/ Maryse Ouellet
This match begins with Al Snow and Chavo Guerrero coming out first and attacking Magnus and Antonio Cesaro during their entrance. They brawl around for a bit before coming back to the ring, where Snow is taking it to Magnus as the bell sounds. Snow and Guerrero do a good job of taking the fight to Magnus and turning him into the rarely seen heel-in-peril. However, turns the tables on Guerrero, when he manages to get to his feet while Guerrero is climbing the turnbuckle. Guerrero flies off but gets dropkicked in mid-flight! Magnus tags out and Cesaro comes in and just dominates Guerrero. Snow tries stop the onslaught, but he only ends up getting nailed with a Swissblade! Cesaro looks like he’s in cruise control and sets up for the Neutralizer on Guerrero. However, when he lifts him into position, he gets swatted with a heel kick to the nose. When both men get up, Guerrero starts up the Three Amigos suplexes. He gets through two snaps. He tries for the last one, but they are too close to the ropes, and Cesaro hooks his legs around the bottom rope. After failing with the move, Cesaro shoves him away and then gives him a running European uppercut. He gives Guerrero a giant swing for about 15 seconds before throwing him. However, when he finishes it, Snow dropkicks him, sending him through the ropes and to the floor. Magnus comes into the ring and fights with Snow. He takes him out to the floor. Snow follows him out. Meanwhile, as Cesaro is getting up next to the ring apron, Maryse hands him Head. Guerrero leans through the ropes and bends over to grab Cesaro, but gets a taste of Head to his head! Cesaro enters the ring and gives Guerrero the Neutralizer. He covers for a 3-count and the victory!
Official Decision: Magnus and Antonio Cesaro win by pinfall
*Commercial Break 3*
Marc Blondin is backstage with the “Hot Rod,” Rowdy Roddy Piper, who has a look of extreme intensity on his face. Blondin asks him about his match, tonight. Piper starts out calmly for all of 10 seconds before exploding into a giant rant about the entire Montréal Mafia and talks about how he plans on burying every last one of them tonight. You see, the “Hot Rod” ain’t no dummy. He knows that when you’re out there to fight one of them, there’s already a second one at ringside and before too long all of them are going to be there. And he knows that the other two are going to show their ugly faces much sooner than usual because this is a no disqualification match. Well, Rowdy Roddy Piper and no disqualifications are a match made in heaven and there’s no room in heaven for the likes of Frenchy Martin and his merry band of nitwits. Piper invites them all to come down to ringside and he promises to rip into every last one of them and to walk out of Harbour Station standing tall.
Lance Storm comes to the ring. He doesn’t have any time for niceties. He needs to be serious for a moment. He’s here to call out the Blue Blazer because now is the time allotted to him by Chief Morley for his unsanctioned match versus the Blue Blazer. One more thing, he promises that as soon as he’s defeated the Blue Blazer, Storm will unmask him to reveal his identity to the world. Now, he tells the Blue Blazer not to act like a coward and come out to the ring. However, we don’t see anyone come out. Storm repeats himself. He says that he’ll go out to the back, find him, and personally drag him out here himself if he has to.
“No Class” Bobby Bass emerges from the entrance arena. He comes down to the ring. Storm tells Bass to get lost because he has important business to take care of. Bass rips the microphone from his hands and tells Storm that he’s here for a fight. He tells Storm that he’s the man behind the mask – he’s the Blue Blazer! Storm doesn’t take him seriously. Bass says that it would be unwise not to take seriously because he’s punked out Storm before and now he’s going to beat him the center of the ring, which is exactly what Storm wanted.
Bass hits him across the forehead with the microphone. Then, he walks Storm into the corner and drives his head into the turnbuckle. He turns him around, climbs to the second turnbuckle and starts wailing away on him with the fists. Bass whips Storm to the far corner and then charges in, but Storm comes out of the corner, catching Bass in the face with a spinning heel kick. Bass gets up and Storm takes him down with a clothesline. Storm waits for him to get up again, and gives him another clothesline. Storm brings Bass to his feet and gives him a fisherman’s suplex. Bass kicks out just before the count of three! Storm brings Bass to his feet, but his eyes gauged. Bass then goes for a whip, but Storm reverses it and Bass hits the turnbuckle. He comes out of the corner upon impact and walks right into a back bodydrop. Storm goes out to the ring apron and waits for Bass to get up. When he does, he performs a springboard dropkick. He pins, but Bass gets a shoulder up right at the last moment. Storm is ready to finish him off. He grabs the legs to go for the sharpshooter, but Bass manages to kick a foot loose and then kick Storm in the face. Bass crawls out of the ring and under the ring. Storm goes to the outside and starts looking under the ring for him, when suddenly out from the other side of the ring emerges the Blue Blazer!
He slides into the ring, runs across the ring and hits Storm with a baseball slide that sends him crashing into the guardrail. The Blazer gets up on the apron, times his spot, and takes Storm down with an Asai moonsault! After he gets up, the Blue Blazer sends Storm crashing into the ring steps. He picks up Storm and rolls him into the ring, then he climbs the turnbuckle and delivers a missile dropkick to him. The Blue Blazer pins him, but Storm kicks out. He picks up Storm and whips him into the corner. He runs in and tries to give Storm a monkey flip, but he lands on his feet. The Blue Blaer gets up and walks right into a superkick! Storm gets down and instead of pinning him, goes straight for the mask to try to pull it off. However, he gets a chair shot to the back from “No Class” Bobby Bass! Storm crumples over and receives another shot to the chest. The referee calls on more officials to come down to the ring. It is at this time that the Blue Blazer makes his escape, out of the ring, over the guardrail and out through the crowd.
*Commercial Break 4*
VS.
Junkyard Dog vs. “Killer” Karl Krupp
The crowd is really hot for this one. The fans are at their loudest of the evening, so far, as this one gets underway. All of Harbour Station is rooting for the Junkyard Dog. J-Y-D *clap, clap, clap-clap-clap!* Krupp is annoyed by all of the love for JYD and lets the fans get an earful. However, he’s drowned out by the chanting and clapping. They don’t stop to boo, they keep chanting. The bell rings and Krupp comes at JYD. He blocks a punch attempt and then lays into Krupp with several right hands. He has Krupp reeling and backs him into the ropes. JYD whips him and goes for a running clothesline, but Krupp just absorbs the blow. He’s still reeling on his feet. JYD goes into the ropes and comes back, but take a big boot to the face, dropping him to the mat. Krupp now goes right for the throat and applies the chokehold. He breaks it just in time to avoid a DQ, but locks it back on. He breaks it again and the referee tries to warn him, but Krupp gives him a stern warning by raising his fist into the air. Krupp picks up JYD and runs to the corner to drive his head into the turnbuckle, but JYD’s head skull is made of metal or something like that because he takes three heads to the turnbuckle and doesn’t care. He drives his own head into the turnbuckle two more times to get the crowd pumped and starts turning the tables on Krupp with several punches and chops. JYD whips Krupp across the ring, into the turnbuckle. He hits it hard enough to come out of the corner upon impact. JYD gets down into the three point stance and charges to take big German down with a running shoulderblock tackle. JYD gets down on all fours and gives Krupp a series of headbutts. Krupp rolls around on the mat until he finds his way under the ropes and onto the floor for an escape. The crowd is loving it and JYD acknowledges them for even more pops. He exits the ring to grab Krupp, who was playing possum, and he sends JYD crashing into the ringsteps. Now, Krupp builds some momentum while brawling around ringside. Krupp takes the match back to the inside. He goes for the first pinfall attempt of the match. JYD easily kicks out of it. Krupp picks him up and gives him a bodyslam. He goes for another pinfall, but JYD kicks out at two. Krupp locks in the rear chinlock. He gets JYD to fade, but he starts to hulk up and gets to his feet. He starts to break the lock with some elbows to Krupp’s sternum. He tries to run free, but Krupp yanks him down to the mat with a hair pull and then drops the elbow on him and hooks the leg for another 2-count. Krupp picks up JYD and gives him a sidewalk slam. Then, he gets up, salutes and prepares to give JYD the Iron Claw. JYD gets to his feet. Krupp comes at him with the claw, but JYD sees it and grabs his forearm with both hands. Krupp thumbs his eye with his free hand and then tries for a suplex, but he can’t lift JYD, and he reverses it. Both men are down. They get up and trade blows. Krupp gets the better of the exchange and goes for a whip. It’s reversed and JYD gives him a big powerslam! He pins, but Krupp kicks out. JYD brings Krupp to his feet and gives him a headbutt. Krupp struggles to get up. JYD grabs him for another headbutt, but Krupp kicks him in the crotch. JYD crumbles over and the crowd is really giving it to Krupp. The referee warns Krupp, but he doesn’t care. Krupp points behind him. The ref turns his back and Krupp drops with stiff clothesline to the back of the head and neck. Krupp tries to grab JYD as he’s getting up, but he ends up getting a bodyslam and another and another! JYD says it’s all over. He picks up Krupp and gives him the Thump! He pins. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8… this match should be over. JYD finds the referee and tries to revive him. Meanwhile, Krupp leaves the ring and grabs a steal chair. He comes back into the ring and raises it up to hit JYD, but gets the chair pulled out of his hands by Bo Dallas!
Dallas threatens Krupp with the chair and JYD gets up to see what’s going on. Now, it’s 2-on-1 and Krupp starts backing away and pleading for mercy when, suddenly, Dallas is struck from behind by a giant!
It’s “The Acadian Giant” Kurrgan!
JYD tries to attack, but the giant actually drops him with a vicious headbutt! Kurrgan grabs Dallas and takes him out to the ring apron, then lifts him high up and chokeslams him down to the floor! He put his massive hand on Dallas’ face and locks on the Kurrgan Claw! He keeps the claw hold locked on as he drags Dallas away from ringside. Back in the ring, Krupp has locked the Iron Claw onto JYD! He tries to reach out for the ropes, but Krupp drags him away. JYD refuses to quit, but he can’t hold out forever. The referee is alive again and sees what’s going down. He watches as JYD starts to tap out. The referee orders Krupp to release the hold and yanks his arm until he lets go. Krupp threatens to strike him, but then gets up and has his hand raised in victory.
Official Decision: “Killer” Karl Krupp wins by submission

North American Tag Team Title Match
Montréal Mafia w/ Frenchy Martin vs. Team Canada
Montréal Mafia w/ Frenchy Martin vs. Team Canada
This match is showcase battle of power versus speed. The champions, Dino Bravo and Mad Dog Vachon, are two big powerful men. Bravo is the bodybuilder with pure power and brute strength. Vachon is a powerful, scrappy, dirty brawler who is madly in love with illegal holds and maneuvers. The challengers, Petey Williams and Eric Young, are the younger, faster and exciting cruiserweight duo. Frenchy Martin and the Montréal Mafia have been urging the challengers to forfeit their title shot for a few weeks now. The champions believe it would be in their best interest. However, the challengers want gold. And so it goes that the match begins with the speedier team getting the bulk of the offense with their speed. However, after the initial barrage of moves and we end up with only two men in the ring, the champions are able to take control on an Eric Young hurricanrana attempt counter into a powerbomb by Vachon. He tags out and lets Bravo toss him around the ring and smother him with chinlocks and bearhugs. The match eventually enters the hot tag phase when Young manages to punch his way out of a delayed side belly-to-back suplex attempt and then follow it up with a stiff kick to the back of Bravo’s head. He makes the hot tag and Williams hits everything in sight. The pace of the match picks up in the closing minutes as things go back-and-forth, but with the challengers building momentum with more offense. Williams finally signals for the end of the match. He sets up to give Vachon the Canadian Destroyer, but he ends up eating a clothesline from Bravo. Young slingshots from the ring apron over the top rope to hit Bravo with a flying forearm. Meanwhile, Vachon hooked the legs and rolled over into a clutch pin after Williams was clotheslined down. He gets a close 2-count, but Young stomps on Vachon’s chest to break it. He lays into Vachon with some chops and then sends him into the corner. Young charges at him and Vachon steps forward and lifts him up into the air as if to give him the flapjack and lets Young fall with his face slamming into the top turnbuckle. Williams grabs Vachon from behind and rolls him up. He gets a 2-count before getting punted in the face by Bravo to break it up. Bravo picks up Young into a body press and drops him over the ropes and onto the floor. Then, Vachon and and Bravo give Williams a spiked piledriver. Vachon covers for the 3-count! The champions retain their titles.
Official Decision: Montréal Mafia wins by pinfall
*Commercial Break 6*
We return from the commercial break to find SoCal Val with Test. She wants a work about his match coming up later tonight. Test repeats what he said last week: he is of the belief that he can beat Leo Burke 2-0 with both hands tied behind his back. He thinks that tonight’s match will be a very short and easy one. Then, he says that after he defeats Burke by a score of 2-0 and in less time than it would take most men to get one fall on Burke, he’ll have once again proven to everyone why he is the most outstanding wrestler in Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling.
We cut over to Marc Blondin, who is with Leo Burke. He asks him if he feels prepared for tonight’s match. He responds affirmatively. Burke says that tonight’s match will be so academic that Test will feel like he’s back in wrestling school. And even if they’re not back in that setting, he says it still feels like he’s veteran and Test is the cocky know-nothing who thinks he knows everything. However, he says that he’s glad they’re not back in wrestling school because back in those days there was no one there to watch him school Test. But tonight, there will be 7000 fans strong in the arena that will get to watch Test fail his wrestling exam.

No Disqualifications Match
Rowdy Roddy Piper vs. Yoshihiro Tajiri w/ Frenchy Martin
Rowdy Roddy Piper vs. Yoshihiro Tajiri w/ Frenchy Martin
Rowdy Roddy Piper waits in the ring as Tajiri comes to the ring with Frenchy Martin and the Montréal Mafia in tow. The referee immediately signals for the North American Tag Team Champions to leave ringside. They get into an argument. Meanwhile, Piper is unwilling to wait for the match to get started. He exits the ring and attacks Tajiri with his back turned. Now, Martin gets on the referee’s case about Piper attacking his man before the match has begun. Dino Bravo and Mad Dog Vachon try to pull Piper away from Tajiri, but they both get stiff shots to the side of the head and then they’re surrounded by officials who force them away from ringside. Back to the attack, Piper controls the brawl. He punches, kicks and whips Tajiri into guardrails and ring steps. Piper makes a mistake by charging at Tajiri while he’s against a guardrail. Tajiri bodydrops him over the guardrail. After taking a brief breather, Tajiri hops over the rail and drills Piper in the back of the head with one of his martial arts kicks. Tajiri continues to inflict damage on Piper while guiding him around the arena floor for a while before returning to ringside. Back at ringside, Tajiri leaps off of the guardrail and takes Piper down with a hurricanrana. He picks up Piper and tosses him into the ring. Tajiri grabs a chair and enters the ring with it. He gets ready to nail Piper with it, but Piper gets to his knees and delivers a low blow. He serves up a couple of fists to the face, then gets up, takes the chair and whacks Tajiri with it several times. Piper stays on him with a bunch more offense, finishing off his rally with a piledriver! He goes for the cover, but Frenchy Martin pulls the referee out of position before he can reach a 3-count.
The referee is verbally sparing with Martin until Piper decides to leave the ring. He starts chasing Martin around ringside. Martin decides to flee via the entrance aisle. Piper stays in hot pursuit, but when he gives up and turns around to return to the ring, he gets a chairshot to the face from Tajiri! Tajiri picks him and serves him some chops before walk him back towards the ring and then whipping him into the ring apron. Piper’s back hits the side of the ring hard. While he’s holding his lower back, Tajiri grabs him and plants him into the floor with a DDT! He picks up Piper and rolls him into the ring. Tajiri gives him a slingshot senton bomb and then pins. Piper gets a shoulder up just before the count of three! Tajiri picks up Piper and goes for a whip. Piper manages to reverse it. He runs in, but Tajiri kicks him in the face, then pulls him into the corner and locks on the tarantula! Tajiri keeps the illegal hold locked in, as there are no disqualifications. Piper is reeling from the hold. Tajiri won’t let go until the referee forces him to break it by pulling the two men apart. Tajiri enters the ring and picks up Piper, who thumbs him the eye and starts to fight back with some punches and chops. However, he tries to whip Tajiri across the ring, but it is reversed. Tajiri goes for a running handspring back elbow, but Piper picks up his foot and kicks Tajiri in the spine as he tries to finish the move! Tajiri gets up and Piper gives him a Russian legsweep. Piper applies a figure four leg lock! Tajiri is reeling, but won’t quit. He drags himself towards the ropes, but Piper manages to drag him back to the center of the ring. Right before it looks like Tajiri is going to submit, Frenchy Martin breaks things up by whacking Piper in the head and chest a few times with his flag stick! He picks up Piper and hooks his arms to fold him for Tajiri, who points at Piper and then spits the green mist – but Piper breaks free and ducks! Martin takes the full brunt of the mist to the face! Tajiri turns to face Piper and gets a few hard jabs to head and then Piper winds up and connects with a big haymaker that drags Tajiri. Piper reacts to the crowd while waiting for Tajiri to get back up, then he grabs him and executes a brainbuster! He covers for the 3-count and the victory!
Official Decision: Rowdy Roddy Piper wins by pinfall

SoCal Val is with “Marvelous” Marc Mero and Candice Michelle to get their final thoughts before going into tonight’s match where Mero might walk out the AGPW International Heavyweight Champion. Candice Michelle is supremely confident that her personal training has helped Mero be everything he needs to be – and more – so that he can walk out of PRIMETIME LIVE as the International Heavyweight Champion! Mero says that he knows that odds makers in Las Vegas don’t favour him, but he says that’s incredibly stupid for two reasons: 1) he’s going to win the International Heavyweight Championship; and 2) he’s going to win a lot of money for betting on himself and he thinks that any half-way intelligent person should really think about doing the same.
Marc Blondin is with “The Iceman” Dean Malenko. The International Heavyweight Champion doesn’t have much to say, so he keeps it straight and to the point: he’s going to walk into the arena tonight as the International Heavyweight Champion; he’s going to apply the Texas Cloverleaf to Marc Mero and make him tap out; and, last, he’s going to walk out of the arena tonight as the International Heavyweight Champion.

Leo Burke vs. Test
This match begins with Test looking to attack right away, but receiving a drop hold and getting put in the ankle lock! Test tries to crawl to the ropes, but Burke stops him and drags him back to the middle of the ring. Test pushes up and uses his incredible leg strength to turn himself over and send Burke flying. When they both get up, they lock up and Test throws Burke to the mat. He gets up and Test buries a knee deep into his abdomen, then takes him to the mat with a headlock takedown. Test works him over with the headlock for a bit. Burke finds ways to break free a couple of times, but Test keeps going back to it to show his old teacher that he can keep up with him on mat game. However, truthfully, Burke is far better at the mat game and he proves it when he again breaks free from a headlock and, after sending Test running to the ropes, takes him down with a few quick arm drags and starts working over Test with some of his ground game moves. Test eventually gets a rope break and begins to fight back after that. He and Burke go back and forth for a bit. Test eventually gets on a bit of a role and decides to go big in an effort to score the first fall. He climbs the turnbuckle and goes for a flying elbow drop, but Burke avoids it, then quickly pounces on him and locks on a crossface crippler! Test is writhing in pain and nearly taps, but then summons enough strength to flip over onto Burke, with the hold still synched in and get Burke’s shoulders on the mat for a 3-count and the first fall. Burke keeps the hold locked in but the referee forces a break. Then, he hears the announcement that the winner of the first fall is Test. Burke can’t believe and questions the referee. Test just gets up and smirks.
With Burke in a 1-0 hole, he has to do everything that he can if he is to truly embarrass Test, as he has said he would. Test, on the other hand, is just one pinfall away from proving that the pupil has surpassed his teacher by shutting out the man who taught him to wrestle. We get a lock up and a chain wrestling sequence. Test surprises us with his ability to keep up with Burke for a little bit, but he eventually looks ground and Burke takes control. However, he can’t get the big man to quit. Burke brings Test to his feet and gives him a backbreaker. He goes to the corner and gives Test a diving elbow drop from the second rope. He pins, but only gets a 2-count. Burke picks up Test and tries to send him into the corner, but he reverses it. Test runs in to give a big boot to the face, but Test ducks and sidesteps him and Test ends up doing the splits on the top rope. Burke flips him over into a single-leg tree of woe and just starts kicking the crap out of Test’s chest. Burke picks him up by the head and performs a leaping neckbreaker on him. He covers, but Test just gets a shoulder up. Burke considers what to do next and as Test is getting up he slaps his sleeperhold onto him. Test struggles with the hold, but he makes the comeback after having his arm dropped twice, and breaks it up with some elbows Test runs to the ropes and tries to nail Burke with a clothesline, but he ducks it. Test turns around and receives a standing dropkick. Burke flips Test over into a Boston crab. It takes him a while, but Test eventually gets to the ropes to break it. Burke charges at him and Test lifts him over the top rope. However, Burke lands on the apron. He climbs back into the ring, sneaks up behind Test and gives him a bulldog takedown. He slaps on the crossface cripple again and again Test tries to reverse it, but Burke just rolls through and keeps it locked in and Test eventually taps to break it. The match is even at 1 fall a piece.
Now it is sudden death. Both guys try some high impact moves. There are a few counters and some quick advantage switches. Both men get some near falls out of it. After being on the bad end of another close pinfall and just getting his shoulder up, Test rolls out of the ring to regroup. Burke doesn’t want to let up and he tries for a through the ropes suicide dive. Test sees him coming and moves at the last moment. Burke ends up crashing into the guardrail. This is a total game changer, as Test starts to inflict even damage by smashing Burke’s face off the ringsteps, the ring apron and the play-by-play table. Test trades a few choice words with the “Macho Man,” but he maintains his cool and remains seated. However, this momentary distraction gives Burke a chance to fight back. He grabs a jug of water from the table and throws the contents of it into Test’s face and then hits him over the head with the jug. The referee gives him a warning, but Burke isn’t hearing any of it. He shoves Test backwards into the ringsteps, then runs at him and drives his knee into Test’s face. Burke picks up Test and tries to whip him into the guardrail, but the big man won’t move. He holds firm and then reverses the whip by sending Burke in the other directions causing him to collide with the referee. Seeing a new opportunity and fully intending to seize it, Test grabs a chair from the timekeeper. He goes to use it, but Burke connects with a fist to the stomach. Burke gives him two more to the face, reaches his feet and takes the chair from him. He starts to swing, but Test kicks him below the belt. Then he gets the chair and cracks him over the head with it. Test picks up Burke and places him onto the play-by-play table and then goes up the ring steps and climbs the turnbuckles.
As he climbs up, he sees Chief Morley who has run down to ringside. He orders Test to stop. He tells him that he has to follow the rules of the match or he’ll never get a shot at AGPW gold. Test doesn’t care. He tells Morley off, finishes his ascent and turns to face Burke. Test mocks the “Macho Man” by pointing to the sky with both of his index fingers to signal that he is preparing for the elbow drop. However, Burke slides off of the table before Test can get airborne. Seeing Burke slide off of the table, Morley quickly hops onto the apron and half-way up the turnbuckle post and pushes Test, causing him to go flying through the table anyhow! Morley gets down, adjusts his tie and tries to revive the referee. Meanwhile, Burke returns to the ring. The referee is up, climbs into the ring and starts the count out on Test. He reaches the count of eight before Test climbs onto the apron. Burke goes over to get him, but gets a shoulderblock to the mid-section and Test goes over the top rope like a cruiserweight and brings Burke down into a sunset flip. Burke rolls through immediately and tries to apply an anklelock, but Test kicks him in the face. Test gets up and both men clothesline each other to the mat. Test gets up to beat the referee’s TKO count. He decides to climb the turnbuckle. Just as he reaches the top, Burke gets to his feet, runs up the turnbuckles and sends Test flying off of the top rope with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex! The move seems to have taken as much out of Burke as it did Test, as they both get up at the same time. Test goes for the running big boot. Burke ducks it and quickly locks on his sleeperhold before Test is able to turn around to face him. Test tries to fight it, but he can’t and this time his is dropped three times to end the match in Leo Burke’s favour, 2-to-1.
Official Decision: Leo Burke wins 2-1

We get a surprise appearance from Trish Stratus! She comes to the ring and receives a huge pop from the 7000 strong AGPW fans who’ve packed in the Harbour Station. Trish thanks the fans for the warm ovation. She mentions how when she was last since on television, somewhere down south, she wasn’t too popular. She blames it on the fact that there are too many people who can’t handle the truth – that she’s the top draw in women’s wrestling today and that she’s always been the top draw in women’s wrestling since the day she first entered a ring. She says that cold hard truth will follow her wherever she goes and that she’s always be #1 draw in women’s wrestling regardless of whether she holds a championship for a single day or three decades. Then, she looks up to the sky box where the Fabulous Moolah, Emile Duprée and Slade are seated. Moolah clearly looks unimpressed. Finally, Trish says that she’s ready to come home to Canada and she’s urging all of the Canadian female wrestlers to come home and help AGPW build a female wrestling division that will be the envy of the entire Mash-Up Wrestling Universe. Now, there is still one little problem and that is that she is still under contract to another company, somewhere down south, but promises to fix that problem and to return to the true north strong and free very soon!

International Heavyweight Championship Match
“The Iceman” Dean Malenko vs. “Marvelous” Marc Mero w/ Candice Michelle
“The Iceman” Dean Malenko vs. “Marvelous” Marc Mero w/ Candice Michelle
Finally, we have reached the main event. Dean Malenko is the no nonsense fighting champion who will take on all challengers. “Marvelous” Marc Mero is his challenger who no one believes deserves a shot at the gold, but who always seems to collect the victory despite looking like he’s on the verge of losing. Mero tries to stall in the early going. Malenko takes his time and gets the better of Mero every time he gets a chance to lock up with him. Malenko works over Mero with a long sequence of holds that Mero can’t break free from. When he eventually makes it to the ropes for a break, Mero decides to exit the ring for a long breather. The referee steadily counts, but Mero wants him to take it slower. He reaches the count of nine before Mero rolls into the ring and back out again. He gets to the count of nine again, when Mero tries the same trick, but Malenko is right there to stomp on him and prevent him from leaving the ring again. Malenko sends him to the ropes and gives him a dropkick. He picks up the pace with his offense, which includes a series of suplexes. Malenko starts to go for some pinfalls, but Mero kicks out of all of them. When Malenko finally decides to go for the Texas Cloverleaf, Candice Michelle gets on the ring apron to distract the referee. Malenko is trying to get Mero’s legs set up for the hold, but Mero grabs a handful of hair and starts to dig his fingers into Malenko’s eyes. Then, he kicks Malenko in the crotch! And after those three illegal moves, Mero starts to mount his comeback. Mero stays in the driver’s seat and tries to get the pinfall victory over and over again. Malenko even kicks out of each of Mero’s biggest moves. Mero gives him a moonsault and pins him to no avail. Mero gives him the Marvelocity and pins him, again to no avail! Malenko can’t be beat. Mero picks him up to go for the TKO, but Malenko drops out of it and then takes Mero down with a hurricanrana!
They both get up and exchange blows. Malenko starts to get the better of him and goes for a whip, but Mero reverses it and dropkicks him. He goes for a pin, but Malenko gets his shoulder up, rolls out of it locks on a reverse Indian deathlock! Candice Michelle distracts the referee again as Mero taps. Malenko breaks the hold and goes to get the referee to stop paying attention to Candice Michelle. She hauls off and slaps him in the face. Then, Mero rolls him up and gets his feet on the middle rope for extra leverage. 1…2… Malenko still kicks out! Mero connects with a big haymaker, then picks up Malenko to go for the TKO, but he counters with a crucifix pin! 1…2… kick out! Malenko goes for a hurricanrana, but Mero counters it with a powerbomb. He hooks for legs, but Malenko kicks out just in time! Mero picks up Malenko for the TKO, but again, he wiggles free and gets to his feet. Mero turns around and Malenko kicks him, then lifts him up and gives him the TKO! While he does it, Mero’s feet catch the referee and knock him down. Malenko pins. 1…2…3…4….5…6… this one should be over. Malenko goes to check on the referee. While he’s doing that, Candice Michelle enters the ring with a chair and approaches to hit him, but he sees her just in time and she freezes. She tries to tell him that she wasn’t going to do anything, but he doesn’t believe it. He grabs the chair from her hands and throws it aside, then tells her to leave the ring. Mero crawls over from behind and gives him a low blow! Mero gets up, grabs Malenko, brings him over to where the chair is and gives him a DDT onto the chair! He pins while Candice Michelle frantically tries to move the referee. She drags him into position to count the fall. But Malenko still gets a shoulder up! Mero can’t believe it. He slides out of the ring and pushes the timekeeper aside to go for the ring bell.
However, “Macho Man” Randy Savage gets up from the play-by-play table and grabs the bell to stop him. The tussle over it until Savage successfully pulls it away. Mero strikes to strike him, but Savage blocks and lays into him with a few fists before tossing him back into the ring. Mero gets up and shouts at Savage about getting involved. Savage just tells him to turn his attention to Malenko. Mero turns around and takes a kick to abdomen and then receives a gutwrench powerbomb! Malenko locks on the Texas Cloverleaf. Mero starts tapping immediately. Candice Michelle tries to enter the ring, but Savage pulls her back. The referee regains consciousness and calls for the match to end. Malenko retains the title and celebrates his victory as we go off the air.
Official Decision: “The Iceman” Dean Malenko wins by submission
