WCW Thursday Thunder episode 14 for 02.16.23
Taped from the El Paso County Coliseum in El Paso, Texas
Commentary: Gorilla Monsoon and Don Callis
Ring Announcer: Gary Michael Cappetta
Interviewer: SoCal Val
Referees: Tommy Young, Joey Marella and Aubrey Edwards
“Wild Card” Bob Holly is in the ring to defend the WCW Wild Card Title against Red Tyler. Holly says it will be a kick your opponent in the balls match. Tyler is caught off guard and Holly punts him in the nuts and finishes with the Alabama Slam in 28 seconds. After the match, Holly crows about how Ronnie Garvin will be out for at least three months with a herniated disc in his back from taking the Alabama Slam through a table at Starrcade. He’d like to say Garvin was a perfect opponent, but he was just another victim.
Pre-taped promo from Dolph Ziggler. “Macho Man” Randy Savage should have never been in the Money in the Bank ladder match at Starrcade. If it wasn’t for him, Ziggler would have won and everybody knows it. Knowing he’s getting Savage and one-on-one, Macho Man wouldn’t have a chance in hell of beating the Showoff. Ziggler challenges Savage to a match on the next Nitro.
Jake “The Snake” Roberts defeated “Gentleman” Jim Clontz by pinfall via DDT at 3:01. Clontz is draped with Damien afterwards.

“Soulman” Rocky Johnson with Dr. of Style, Slick defeated Pez Whately at 7:10 by submission via Boston Crab.
We then get a pre-taped promo from Slick where he admits to having recorded this before Johnson’s match, because he knew he was winning. Johnson lost the Money in the Bank ladder match at Starrcade, but that’s not the Soulman’s style. And Power Station defeated Santana and Ortiz who tucked their tales between their legs and ran off. There are a lot of stables in WCW growing, but the Jive Soul Bros are the longest intact stable in the promotion right now and they are on their way back to the top.

“Mega Man” Tom Magee with Col. Robert Fuller defeated Jim Parks by pinfall via Mega Driver at 4:44.
The Starrcade highlights recap package runs again.
The All-Sister Squadron (Gigi Dolin and Nikkita Lyons) defeated Karina Enriquez and Linda Gonzalez by pinfall at 6:10 via tandem top rope butt splashes with Dolin and Lyons landing on both opponents together.

We get a pre-taped promo from Hulk Hogan. “Owen Kevins, you challenge me to a six-man tag team match for the coming Nitro. You don’t think I can find two men to stand with me. Well, I’ve got a surprise coming for you, brother. They say blood is thicker than water and thicker still is the juice of Hulkamania running through my veins and the veins of the 43.6 million Hulkamaniacs across the stratosphere and into Middle Earth, jack. So, you bring Eli Bennett and Mike Drake and that problem Maria to Nitro and I’ll bring the 24-inch pythons and one question, what are you all going to do when Hulkamania runs wild on you.”
The Funk Brothers (Terry and Dory Jr.) defeated The Smith Family Legacy (Harry Smith and Tyson Kidd) by pinfall of Dory on Smith via spiked piledriver at 10:49. Davey Boy Smith came down during the match and pulled Kidd off the apron, telling him that Smith needs to learn. Kidd didn’t want to go, but Smith pushed him to the back, leaving Harry alone.
We get a promo for the next edition of Nitro.
