NWA Championship Wrestling taped on Tuesday, Jan 2, 2023, from St. Louis, Mo. & airs Saturday, Jan. 7 on ESPN.
Today's show kicks off with action highlights from NWA champions as World's Heavyweight Champion Greg 'the Hammer' Valentine, World's Tag Team Champions Gary Hart's Asian Assassins Kenta Kobashi & Mitsuharu Misawa, World's Junior Heavyweight Champion Finn Balor, Women's World's Champion Mandy Rose before going to the desk with the announcing team of Gordon Solie & Rick Stewart. Joining them is ring announcer/interviewer Charly Caruso. Solie announces that NWA Championship Wrestling is expanding to two hours, allowing the fans to see more of their favorites.
Commissioner Jim Barnett is out to announce three of the matches on the next PPV Mattmania, live from the PNC Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina on Saturday, January 21. The NWA is adding three more championships-- the United States Heavyweight Belt, the United States Tag Team Belts & the United States Women's Belt. Here is the card:

Gordon comments on some of the big moments from the recent Pay-Per-View before bringing out the new NWA World's Heavyweight Champion Greg 'the Hammer' Valentine with manager James J. Dillon accompanied by the tag team of 'Dirty' DIck Slater & 'Ace' Bob Orton Jr. and Bob Roop. JJ says Mr. Valentine was a man of his word & beat Ken Shamrock for the title. Solie questions Dillon about his involvement outside of the ring & JJ denies the accusations. Valentine says he is going to be the next UWA World's Heavyweight Champion when he whips that snot-nosed punk Chris Jericho for the title in February. Now, they are going to enjoy his title reign. After the Dynasty leaves, Solie presents the highlights from that match before going to our first commercial break of the day.
