Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa of #DIY retained the WWE Men’s Tag Team Championships when they defeated AJ Styles and CM Punk by pinfall at 17:35 when Gargano pinned Punk. Gargano and Ciampa executed a Meeting in the Middle on Punk moments after Punk had Gargano on the verge of tapping out to the Anaconda Vise. The hold was broken up when Styles missed a Phenomenal Forearm on Ciampa, who then threw Styles onto Punk’s back with a release German suplex. Ciampa executed a running knee strike to the side of Punk’s head, setting him up for the Meeting in the Middle.
After the match, Styles helped Punk up. Punk looked frustrated, but he shook hands with Styles. Then, when Styles turned away from Punk, the Best in the World attacked him from behind. He finished his attack with a Go to Sleep, leaving the Phenomenal One laid out in the center of the ring.

Mean Gene interviewed WWE Intercontinental Champion Adam Cole and his manager Bobby “The Brain” Heenan about Cole’s title defense against Eddie Guerrero, coming up in tonight’s main event. Cole and Heenan were confident that Cole would win, after all, he beat Guerrero for the title all the way back at WrestleMania II. Triple H showed up and asked for a word with Mean Gene. He had something to say about getting robbed on Friday in the steel cage match. Cole took issue with Triple H trying to hijack his screen time. Triple H accused Cole of not being a team player, and asked him where he was on Friday (because he saw the rest of the Heenan Family, but Cole was the only one who was nowhere to be seen). Cole said that he had to prepare for his title defense under short notice. Triple H appeared to have something else to say, but reconsidered, and just told Cole that he has his back tonight because that’s what you do when you’re family.

Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky of Damage CTRL defeated Nikki Bella and Brie Bella of the Bella Twins by pinfall at 7:16 when Sky pinned Brie after landing a top-rope moonsault on her.

Mean Gene Okerlund spoke to the A-Lister The Miz and his beautiful wife Maryse Ouellet, who said that The Miz has put his Brock Lesnar problem behind him thanks to Maryse. Now, on Friday, The Miz will show the world why Ricky Steamboat is a chump and The Miz deserves a second crack at Chris Jericho and the UWA Men’s Universal Championship.

Shawn Michaels defeated Adam Page by pinfall at 12:55 after he blocked a Buckshot Lariat attempt with Sweet Chin Music. After the match, Michaels took a microphone and said that he had aspirations of becoming a champion, but so far the opportunities have been far and few between. It was time for him to create his own opportunities.

Mean Gene spoke to Bianca Belair, who challenged Dr. Britt Baker to a match next week to see who should get a shot at the UWA Women’s Universal Championship. She promised her fans that the EST would beat the DMD. Suddenly, Awesome Kong attacked Belair from behind. They brawled away from the interview set. A camera stuck with the action until Awesome Kong powerbombed Belair through a catering table.

Mr. McMahon came to the ring to talk about how pissed off he was at Sting. No matter what he does, whether it suspend him, fire him, ban him, or get a restraining order on him, the man keeps finding ways back into WWE events and causing havoc. He has ruined multiple premium live events, and does whatever Mr. McMahon doesn’t want him to do. Mr. McMahon had to admit that he admired Sting’s tenacity and his willingness to pester the most powerful man in sports entertainment regardless of what the consequences may be. Mr. McMahon is big enough to admit that everything he has tried to keep Sting from messing in his company’s affairs hasn’t worked. But he also knows that Sting can’t keep this up forever. Eventually, Sting, power triumphs over will. Mr. McMahon said that he has all the power and he is not afraid to use it. Let this be a warning to Sting that the next time he shows his face at a WWE event there will be grave consequences.
The Bloodline and Paul Heyman came to the ring. Roman Reigns said that Mr. McMahon’s family has always been good to his family and as the Head of the Table of his family, he wanted to let Mr. McMahon know that whatever he needed, his family was ready to return the favour. Just talk to the Wise Man and he’ll see to it that it is done. Mr. McMahon wore an evil smile. Then, he said that this was a warning to Sting that the next time he shows his face at a WWE event, there will be grave consequences.

Mean Gene spoke to Randy Orton, who said that Shawn Michaels needs to get to the back of the line because he didn’t just have aspirations of becoming a champion – it was his destiny to become a WWE champion! Rowdy Roddy Piper appeared and said that Orton needed to shut up and go away. He said he wasn’t destined for anything as he had an opportunity last week and he blew it. In fact, Orton has been handled so many opportunities over the last year that he can’t keep count. And what happens every time he gets a golden opportunity? He fails. Piper said that Orton is ruining his family’s legacy. Piper has a ton of respect for his father, Cowboy Bob Orton. They’re good friends, even. But his friend Cowboy Bob’s son has been nothing but a disappointment since the moment he stepped foot in this company. Orton said he had heard enough and said he would prove Piper wrong. He challenged Piper to a match any time, any place. Piper told him to meet him in Philadelphia next Monday.

Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso of The Usos defeated Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins of the Street Profits Twins by pinfall at 9:03 when Jimmy Uso pinned Dawkins after he and his brother Jey executed 1D on him. At the end of the match, the Usos said that #DIY was in need of a couple of challengers for WrestleMania. Well, you’re looking at them.
Tell me they did not just say that! Harlem Heat came out and said they were the most deserving team. The Usos suggested Booker T and Stevie Ray lacked credentials, but Booker said they were the longest serving WWE Tag Team Champions in the history of the company. Stevie Ray said they would prove it by beating their little fruit booties all over Philly next week!

Mean Gene Okerlund spoke to Eddie Guerrero, who was just moments away from challenging Adam Cole for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Guerrero said that Cole thought he was the smartest man in the company when he and Bobby Heenan took the title from him at WrestleMania II. It may have taken him 8 months to get revenge, but tonight he will do just that. Guerrero will show that he is smarter than Cole. He outsmarted him to get Cole to put his title on the line, and he will outsmart him to take the title from him. Tonight, Latino Heat will lie, cheat, and steal his way in the record books by becoming the first 2-time WWE Intercontinental Champion. Viva la raza!

Eddie Guerrero defeated Adam Cole by pinfall at 21:18 to become the new WWE Intercontinental Champion. Guerrero had a lot to contend with as Bobby “The Brain” Heenan distracted the referee, took a shot at Guerrero when he ended up on the floor, and choked him out on the bottom rope. He was still more than up to the challenge. A late rally saw Guerrero execute the Three Amigos and then head up to the top rope. Heenan climbed onto the ring apron and grabbed Guerrero’s foot to keep him from getting to the top. The referee warned Heenan, but the tactic worked, as the delay was enough to allow Cole to move out of the way of Guerrero’s attempted frog splash. After executing an ushigoroshi, Cole lowered his knee pad and lined up the Latino Heat for the Boom!
“Excuse me! I SAID EXCUSE ME!” It was Vickie Guerrero! She was on the ring apron, shouting into Howard Finkel’s microphone. The distraction worked to allow Eddie enough time to sneak over and roll up Cole with a handful of tights. Unfortunately, the referee didn’t count it as he was distracted by Bobby Heenan jumping onto the ring apron and starting a tug of war over the mic with Vickie. Heenan won the tug of war, but in the process, plunked the ref in the face with the mic. As Eddie gave Cole a brainbuster, Triple H entered the ring and glared at Guerrero. Their standoff lasted long enough for Cole to sneak up from behind and deliver a low blow to the challenger. After getting to his feet, Cole gave Guerrero the Boom! Triple H hugged Cole, but when wouldn’t let go when Cole tried to separate from him. Triple H gave him an inverted atomic drop, a knee-to-face, and a short-arm clothesline. He picked up Cole and gave him the Pedigree. Triple H looked at Heenan and pointed at the ref. Heenan seemed hesitant, but revived the referee as Triple H dragged Guerrero onto Cole. The ref counted the pinfall, securing the win and the championship for the Latino Heat.
