The End
From The AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas.
Saturday, December 31st
Promoter: Paul Boesch
General Manager: William Regal
Announce Team: The Professional Brian Myers & Pat McAfee
Backstage Interviewer: Kayla Braxton
Myers welcomes us to San Antonio for The End. Pat is shouting over the crowd noise that tonight will be the End for so many WCCW superstars. The End of the Best of Seven Series, we will have a WCCW Heavyweight Champion tonight! The End for Strike Force for good as Tito Santana and Rick Martel finally collide in a Strap Match. For four tag teams, tonight, their World Class Tag Team Title hopes will also be coming to The End.
Brian says there is that and so much more tonight, a Street Fight for the Texas Heavyweight Title, a Six Man Tag Team War inside a Steel Cage, plus two other title matches tonight. He throws it to the ring for the first match introductions.
The Russian Nightmare Nikita Koloff w/ Ivan Koloff vs. Buddy Murphy
Brian reminds us of Black Friday, where these two met with a spot in the Double Title Ladder Match on the line. The Dynamic Duo came out of nowhere to interfere and give Murphy the win. Uncle Ivan is at ringside tonight, wielding his trademark steel chain. Nikita is even more intense than usual and take full command of the match from the bell. He biels Buddy across the ring and runs his head into the turnbuckles repeatedly as the crowd counts along. Murphy takes a vertical suplex and catches some serious air out of a backdrop before rolling to the floor to catch his breath.
Ivan closes in on Murphy and he seeks shelter back inside the ring... where Nikita is waiting to charge for a SICKLE! Buddy ducks and connects with a dropkick to take the Russian Nightmare to the canvas. Murphy with a knee strike and a sling blade. He drops a couple of elbows and tries for a cover, but Koloff kicks out. Another knee strike to the head as Murphy is trying to keep Nikita off his feet here. Nikita counters another knee with a snap powerslam. Both men are slow to their feet.
The camera cuts to where the Dynamic Duo are running down the ramp, but they are greeted by a chain-swinging Ivan Koloff. The Russian Bear was ready for them this time, and he keeps them away from the ring. Murphy is complaining about Ivan's chain and turns around into a SICKLE as Nikita gets a bit of payback here 1...2...3.
Your Winner, via Pinfall (8:12) Nikita Koloff!
Brian says that must have been very satisfying for Nikita. Pat thinks he could be dangerous with Uncle Ivan carrying that chain around.
Pat welcomes the newest member of the broadcast team as he send it backstage to where Kayla Braxton has The Nature Boy Ric Flair.
Flair gives us a Wooooo! and tells San Antonio to get ready for The End of the road for The American Dream. And once it is over, The Omni Hotel on The Riverwalk will be Stylin' and Profilin' as only Slick Ric can do it. Dusty, you've put up a good fight, but tonight is The End for you. As for the Nature Boy, He's Only just begun. Flair gives Kayla a room key and tells her to wear something special later tonight. Kayla stammers and sends us back to the ring.
Bo & Duke Rotunda w/ Iron Mike DiBiase vs The Natural Dustin Rhodes & Wahoo McDaniel - World Class Tag Team Tournament First Round Match
The odd couple of World Class take charge early. Wahoo traps Bo in a headlock and just will not let go. He cranks and twists on it, all the while DiBiase is yelling instructions at Rotunda from the floor. Dustin tags in and they double shot Bo before tossing him across the ring. The Natural beckons his brother to tag in.
Iron Mike asks him what he is waiting for. Duke and Dustin lock up, and Duke drops Rhodes with a shoulder before Dustin pops up and levels him with a clothesline. He backs Duke into the corner and chops his chest raw. Wahoo smiles and appreciates the offense. McDaniel in and he delivers a belly to back suplex and drops a big elbow. Duke kicks out and tries to crawl to the corner. DiBiase again is screaming orders at his charge, but Dustin cuts him off and hits the Final Cut. Wahoo in the ring to keep Bo neutralized and we get a quick 1...2...3
Your Winners, via Pinfall (4:56) Wahoo McDaniel & The Natural Dustin Rhodes
Brian says the more he sees Rhodes & Wahoo together, the more he thinks they could go far in this tournament. Pat sees some respect developing between the two and agrees they will be a force to be reckoned with.
The AWA representatives are limping up the ramp, with Iron Mike berating them verbally the entire way. The cameras follow as the head behind the curtain. His yelling and cursing only stops when Mike bumps into Andre The Giant waiting at the Gorilla position. Andre doesn't say a word but wags a big finger at DiBiase as Bo and Duke scurry away.
Andre The Giant vs. The World's Strongest Man Mark Henry w/ Miss Tessmacher
Tessmacher leads her charge to the ring. He and Andre go chest to chest. The referee wedges himself in between and gives them a specific instruction... to try and keep this one in the ring. Henry SLAPS Andre right in the mush as the bell sounds. The blows start coming hard and fast. Andre tries for a slam, but Henry grabs the top rope and Andre tumbles to the canvas. Mark stomps and kicks at Andre, but the Giant seems to not feel any of it as he gets back to his feet. He shoves Henry into the corner and delivers some hugs open hand slaps to the chest, the crowd ooh-ing and ahh-ing along with every shot.
Tessmacher is screaming about a hair pull and illegal tactics, but the referee manages to ignore her. An Irish whip by Andre causes a collision in the center of the ring that makes the ring shake. Pat swears he saw the entire ring shift 4 inches. Andre grabs Henry from behind for a head butt, but a mule kick puts a stop to that. Mark works on wearing down the giant and manages to tie him up in the ring ropes after a big kick to the gut. Henry peppers him with punches, ignoring the referee's count as Andre is helpless to retaliate. Tessmacher laughs and points out to Brian how her TessMonster is dominating
Finally freed, Andre starts a comeback, but Henry short circuits it with a clothesline. Andre doesn't go down, but staggers around before Henry scoops him up. World's Strongest Slam! 1....2...NO! Andre rolls a shoulder at the last minute. Tessmacher is livid and jumps on the apron to vocalize her displeasure. The referee orders her down, but the action in the ring continues. Andre swats at Tessmacher, and Henry responds with a Big Scoop Slam! hits the ropes for the Splash 1...2...3! Andre rolls the shoulder too late He got him!
Your Winner, via Pinfall (9:21) The World's Strongest Man Mark Henry!
Pat has no doubt, this is the biggest upset of the year so far. Brian is speechless, and Andre thinks he had the shoulder up in time. Tessmacher squeals in delight in Myers' ear before making her way up the ramp. Pat send us back to Kayla Braxton
Kayla has The American Dream beside her. Dusty is very subdued. He knows he has come a long way to get here, but he also knows there is a long way to go. You don't just beat a Ric Flair four times in a row, and he is focusing all his energy and thoughts to the match tonight. As Kayla sends us back to the ring, Dusty interrupts to congratulate his boy and Wahoo on their win.
Pat comments how somber The Dream sounds. He thinks Dusty gave everything he had in Waco two weeks ago to get to this point, and that Rhodes may not have anything left in the tank. He brings up that everyone remembers Carlton Fisk waving the ball fair in the 1975 World Series, but that was game 6, and the Red Sox lost Game 7.
Music Plays and the ring announcer takes over.
Demolition v War Machine - World Class Tag Team Tournament First Round Match
Not a lot of finesse in this one. Demolition take the fight to War Machine from the get-go and this quickly devolves into a four way brawl. The referee has lost control, watching Smash clobber Rowe on the floor with vicious fists while Hanson and Ax are taking turns running each other into ring posts. Rowe takes out everyone with a dive form the apron and the referee threatens to DQ both teams if they don't get this back in the ring.
Hanson and Smash trade German Suplexes as we begin the match proper. Demolition hit a version of the Hart Attack, while Hanson and Rowe shock the crowd with a Rocker-Plex. A back and forth, hard hitting fight that goes for almost 20 minutes. Hanson misses a swanton dive, and Demolition hits the Decapitation for the win.
Your Winners, via Pinfall (19:02) Demolition!
War Machine get a nice ovation as they head up the ramp. Pat wants to sign up for more of that! Brian agrees, that was probably the best match of the tournament so far, and it is a shame someone had to lose.
Kayla is backstage with the Southwest Heavyweight Champion, Pac. He complains that here he is about to walk through that curtain and defend his title for a second time, while Mustafa Ali hasn't put his on the line even once. Kayla points out that he too will defend his title tonight and Pac cuts her off, that doesn't even matter. He was the first one to pull a title down in the ladder match, meaning Ali is just clinging to his scraps. His title is a second-rate belt and he isn't a real champion. He doesn't even remember who he is facing tonight, but the result will be the same. Brutality.
Pac (C) vs. Ultimo Dragon vs Yuta Wheeler - Southwest Heavyweight Championship Match
Pac is out last and sits on the turnbuckle as the bell rings. Yuta and Dragon eye him suspiciously, but they lock up as the champion isn't stirring from his perch. As they begin some chain wrestling, Pac slowly stands up, feet on the top buckle and he flies off, dropkicking Ultimo in the face and careening into Yuta. Pac unleashes a flurry of kicks and spinning strikes on Wheeler. Ultimo dives back in, but Pac catches him and snap suplexes him into Wheeler. The champion keeps both men off balance for quite a stretch, before Wheeler catches him with a European uppercut seemingly out of nowhere, and Pac turns into a Dragon moonsault. Yuta breaks up the resulting pin, and he and Dragon end up nose to nose.
Pac rolls to the floor, and Yuta somersaults over the ropes to send him into the barricade. Ultimo follows up, and Yuta catches him for a fall away slam into the barricades. Yuta rolls Pac back in and traps him in a kneebar. wrenching the knee back and forth to do as much damage as possible. Pac reaches the ropes for the break, but Yuta pulls him back and locks it back in the middle of the ring. Ultimo in with a kick and he hits Yuta with a back handspring elbow. Pac has to break up the pin. He mounts Dragon and pummels him with fists until Yuta is back to his feet and comes in with a running knee. Dragon has to break up this cover Ultimo drags Yuta to the turnbuckles, and looks for a tope rope hurricanrana, but Pac with a huge superkick to his face as he starts to flip. Yuta hits the mat awkwardly, and Pac instantly has the Brutalizer on. Ultimo tumbles to the floor, and Wheeler realizes he has no choice.
Your Winner, via submission (14:24) and STILL Southwest Heavyweight Champion, Pac!
Brian is thoroughly impressed with Pac in that match. Pat states he will likely be Southwest Champion for a long time. Speaking of Champions, we go right back to the ring for another Tag Team Tournament Match.
reDRagon v The Fantastics - World Class Tag Team Tournament First Round Match
Bobby Fish and Tommy Rogers start out with some chain wrestling, Fish ends up with an Fujiwara armbar that has Rogers in serious trouble. He makes the tag to Bobby Fulton, who vaults in and drops a leg drop right onto Fish's face. Fish rolls to his corner and tags in Kyle O'Reilly. Fish falls to the floor and is constantly checking his eye.
O'Reilly grounds Fulton and tries to trap him in a kneebar. Rogers rallies the fans and gets the hot tag. The Fantastics go to town on O'Reilly, all the while Fish is still on the floor, pacing about patting his eye. Brian says he doesn't see anything wrong with Fish's eye, but Pat tells him there could be possible unseen damage like a cracked orbital socket. Brian thinks there'd be some swelling, but he's no doctor.
Meanwhile, Fulton and Rogers are rocking now, and have O'Reilly ready to put the WCW imports away. Fulton has Kyle held up in a Full Nelson. Rogers hits the ropes, but Fish is there and sweeps the leg to trip Tommy up. He stumbles forward, O'Reilly kicks him square in the face. Fulton spins him around, but Kyle hits a jumping knee strike to the jaw and then grabs Rogers and delivers a German Suplex. He Bridges and gets the 1...2...3
Your Winners, via Pinfall (11:47) reDRagon!
Rogers swears to the referee he had his shoulder up before 3, but the official is not swayed by the argument. O'Reilly rolls to the floor to check on his partner, only to find Fish halfway up the ramp by now, still clutching at his eye.
Pat hopes Fish's eye is all right, as the team now has a date in the second round in just two weeks. Brian reminds us that the second round commences at the next Lone Star Live on January 13th in Lubbock, Texas.
We go backstage to Kayla Braxton, who has the Von Erich Brothers with her. Kerry says he hasn't spoken to his daughter yet, but has been assured by WCCW officials that she is safe inside the arena. David doesn't trust a word Akbar and Devastation, Incorporated say and plans on beating the truth out of them tonight. Kevin puts it plain and simple. Akbar messed with the Von Erich Family, and the Family is going to make them pay.
Tito Santana vs. Rick Martel - Strap Match
Brian explains the rules of a Strap Match. The two men are bound by the wrist to a 15-foot-long leather strap that is legal to use in any way imaginable. You must drag your opponent around the ring to touch all four top turnbuckles in succession. If you opponent tags one before you get all four, we start all over again. Pat says he doesn't really understand, but as long as these two get to whip each other's hides off, he's ok with it.
The referee takes his time securing the wrists, and Santana takes the chance to trash talk to Martel, who is standing stoically, staring right at Tito. The bell rings, and Santana jerks the strap, but Martel does not move. Tito doubles the strap around his arm for leverage and jerks on it again, and again, nothing from Rick. Tito winds up for a third attempt, but Martel charges, screaming out like a wild man, and leaps at Santana in a Thesz Press and begins to just pound the face of his former partner over and over and over. The referee starts to intervene, but Martel shoots him a deranged look, and goes back to beating on Santana.
Tito manages to roll free eventually and to the floor. Rick drags him back in and uses the strap to clothesline Santana. We get some normal-ish wrestling for a bit, and Martel suplexes Tito and locks in an abdominal stretch. Tito hip tosses out and connects with some forearm shots to the face. He tries to run the ropes for the Big Forearm shot, but Martel trips him up. scoop slam and one, two and three rolling elbow drops. Martel goes to a corner and slaps the turnbuckle, but Tito stops him from getting to the next corner with a dropkick.
Santana rolls to the floor and then under the ropes again, putting a dazed Rick on a different side of the ringpost. Before Martel can stop it, Tito is gathering up slack and jerks the strap forward, pulling Martel HARD into the steep post. Tito gives him some slack, then does it again even harder, and Martel is busted wide open. Tito slides under the ropes and wraps the strap around Rick's neck. Tito to the apron and over the ropes, He's trying to hang Rick Martel! Pat can't believe his eyes here! The referee can't officially stop Santana here, but decides to get involved, pulling Rick to the apron to lessen the effects. Tito brings him all the way back in and then DDTs Rick into the mat. Santana is screaming at the official then rolls out to the floor and grabs a steel chair. He sets the chair up and hangs Martel up on the top turnbuckle. Tito steps up on the ropes... MIDDLE ROPE PILEDRIVER INTO THE CHAIR! Myers is screaming that Martel might be dead! Tito pulls Rick to his feet and whips him hard into the opposite corner. Martel crashes in sideways, trying to catch himself on the pad.
Tito kicks Martel in the gut and lifts him for a brainbuster. Martel crumbles to the mat and Tito takes the strap and begins to wail away on Martel's back with it. Over and over, he whips Rick's back, causing the skin to become an uncomfortable shade of red. Loud cracks of leather on skin echo in the suddenly silent arena. Rick somehow crawls to the corner and painstakingly drags himself to his feet, pulling up on the buckles, but leaving his back exposed to his adversary. Tito relishes this and does not relent as Martel makes his way along the ropes to the next corner. Suddenly, Brian Myers notices. Rick touches the turnbuckle in the corner when Tito set up the piledriver, he touched another on the awkward whip into the corner before the brainbuster, and now a third as he struggled his way to his feet. Santana is too focused on blistering Martel's now bleeding back to notice right away. Martel is inches away when Santana pulls him back and wraps the strap around his neck again. Tito drags Rick to the middle of the ring now and starts to lean in on the choke. Martel out of desperation grabs Santana's head and drops down in a jaw-jacker. Tito stumbles a bit, but connects with a kick to the gut and a piledriver setup. Martel backdrops Tito and stumbles forward, diving at the final turnbuckle and slapping it nanoseconds before crashing to the mat with Santana lunging and landing on top him,
Your Winner (26:41) Rick Martel!
The announcement is made, and Tito goes into a next-level rage. He drags Rick away for the referee trying to unbind him, and over to the announce table. He blasts Martel with a chair and climbs up, looking to piledrive him through the table. Suddenly, Rey Mysterio Jr dives in from the crowd, taking Tito to the floor and extracting a measure of revenge. Brian and Pat are screaming for security to come down, and they finally do, unstrapping the competitors and clearing ringside of combatants.
Brian isn't sure what to say after that one. Pat calls it absolute insanity. Martel won the battle, but we're not sure he won the war. And Mysterio clearly has a score to settle with Tito Santana down the line.
Backstage, Kayla Braxton has Seth Freakin' Rollins in advance of his street fight. He isn't worried about Curt's cronies getting involved in the match even though a Street Fight is an anything goes type of match. He's the Architect, the Visionary, the Revolutionary and he always has a Plan B.
The Japanese Invasion w/ Miss Tessmacher vs. The Rock & Roll Express - World Class Tag Team Tournament First Round Match
Tessmacher leads her charges to the ring, stopping to yell at Myers that there better not be any funny business tonight. McAfee asks him what that is about, and Brian has no idea. The crowd gets electric when Ricky & Robert head to the ring. Tsuruta and Tenryu stand and watch as they circle ringside high fiving fans and kissing babies. Tessmacher gets in Robert's face and starts screaming at him, so Ricky spins her around and kisses her! Tessmacher lingers for a moment, then pulls away and slaps the taste out of his mouth. That's the cue for the Invasion to pounce and they lay the boots to the Express. Jumbo rosses Ricky into the ring and we get a bell.
The TessMonsters do a good job of cornering Morton, using frequent tags and lots of hard-hitting strikes and power moves. Slams, chops, knees and suplexes have this one looking like a squash for the first part of the bout. Morton escapes a Double Brainbuster attempt and runs Genichiro into the ropes for an O'Connor Roll for a 2 count. Tenryu kicks out, and that sends Ricky into his corner for the hot tag!
Gibson in and does his best Oprah Winfrey impression. YOU get a right hand, and YOU get a right hand, The Japanese take a powder and try to regroup, but Robert is having none of it. He vaults over the ropes and crashes into both men, wiping them out and knocking Tessmacher to the ground in the aftermath. Gibson runs Jumbo into the barricade and arranges a meeting of the minds. He rolls Tenryu in and tries to cover. Tsuruta in to break it up and that draws Ricky back in the match. Things break down quickly and it looks like we're about to see a double DQ, when Tessmacher is on the apron screaming at the referee. Tsuruta gets whipped into her direction, she takes the bump to the floor, and Jumbo turns around into a Double Dropkick! Gibson cuts off Tenryu as Morton covers 1...2...3!
Your Winners, via Pinfall (13:43) The Rock & Roll Express!
The Express celebrate, as The Invasion tend to Tessmacher. She is furious and screaming about the wrong man being pinned and the referee being an idiot. Pat think she might have a case, but it is what it is and the Rock & Roll Express are moving on to the next round.
There isn't too much time to speculate, as music is playing, and we get our next match heading to the ring.
Mustafa Ali vs. Bam Bam Bigelow w/ Sensational Sherri - Western States Heavyweight Championship Match
Fast open between these two. You'd expect a typical David vs Goliath matchup, but Bigelow has the agility and speed to move with Ali. Bam Bam counters Mustafa with a dropkick to send Ali across the ring. Bigelow with a big cross body, and Ali rolls through for a quick 2 count. He comes back with a nice Tornado DDT and tries for a shotgun kick. Bigelow catches him in a Black Hole Slam for 2.
Collar and Elbow in the center of the ring now. Bigelow with a headlock. Ali shoots him off. Bam Bam LEAPFROGS Ali to the crowds amazement, then comes back to lariat Mustafa's head nearly clean off his shoulders. Bam Bam with a Michinoku Driver and he goes up top. Diving headbutt, NO ONE IS HOME! Ali with a springboard moonsault and a surprise 1...2...3
Your Winner, Pinfall (6:41) and STILL Western States Champion Mustafa Ali!
Ali offers a handshake after the match, but Sherri refuses to let Bigelow accept and drags him up the ramp. Brian is impressed with Ali and Pat thinks he got lucky there. Brian doesn't think there is a handshake waiting at the end of our next Title Match either.
Seth Freakin' Rollins vs. Curt Hennig - Texas Heavyweight Championship Street Fight
Curt comes down in full West Texas Redneck regalia: blue jeans, boots, Waylon Jennings t-shirt, carrying a branding iron, and wearing a Stetson hat. Seth makes his way down in one of his wilder suits. They charge each other in the middle of the ring and the referee signals for the bell. Fisticuffs fly back and forth instantly. Seth knocks off Curt's hat and stomps on it, flattening the crown and drawing a dramatic 'Ooooh' from the crowd. Hennig responds with a gum spit and swat into Seth's face. Seth responds with a Superkick and tosses Curt to the floor.
Rollins leaps over the top rope and lays his foe out. Seth grabs Curt and hurls him into the ring steps. He taunts him for a moment, then swipes the Texas Title off the timekeeper's table and swings it at Henning. Curt kicks him in the gut and tosses Seth into and then over the barricade! Curt follows Seth into the stands, where they resume their assaults on each other.
Seth has a chair and blasts Henning in the back. Seth raises the chair up for another blow, when two men in hoods swarm in and level Rollins. Chris Adams and Gino Hernandez pull Curt to his feet and the three of them begin to kick and stomp on Seth. Myers exclaims he just knew something like this would happen. Pat wonders where their fourth associate might be hiding.
As if on cue, Buddy Murphy is seen running down the steps towards the assault. Security is having their hands full keeping the fans apart from the action. As Murphy gets close, someone bolts from their seat and blocks his path. Murphy stops dead in his tracks and goes nose to nose with the person. The cameraman closes is and zooms in on the intruder's face.
Pat exclaims "That... that's Wesley Blake!"
And indeed, it is. Murphy's former partner continues to stare Buddy down. Without a word, Blake turns and joins Murphy down the aisle. Seth has now been thrown into the barricade and busted open. Blake and Murphy arrive just as Henning and Her is holding Seth up for Adams to Superkick. Curt calls for Adams to back off and let Murphy and Blake get in their shots. They do, but strike Adams and Hernandez instead! Curt charges in and Murphy backdrops him over the barricade and onto the announce table! Blake and Murphy lay out the Dynamic Duo, which gives Rollins some time to crawl over the barricade and roll into the ring. Hennig follows suit and security has pretty much
Seth recovers enough to have picked up the branding iron and blast Henning with it. Curt struggles to his feet, but Seth pounces and hits the Stomp! He covers, and is immediately dragged out of the ring but a towering man... Dominik Dijakovic! What is HE doing here! Dijakovic runs Seth head-first into the ringpost, the drags him into the ring. Dominik delivers a Feast Your Eyes to Rollins and gives Curt an assist in making the cover 1...2...3
Your Winner, via Pinfall (17:34) and NEW Texas Heavyweight Champion, Curt Hennig!
Dijakovic pulls Curt to his feet and grabs the belt to strap around his waist. Adams and Hernandez have snuck back to ringside and the four of them stand over a defeated Rollins. Gino calls for a Mic and tells Rollins, he might have had Plan B in Wesley Blake, but Perfection trumped that with Plan D! The crowd jeers them enthusiastically.
Brian says that was disgusting. Pat thinks it was brilliant, and the master strategist just got outdone by Perfection. Brian guesses that's what they're calling themselves and Pat asks what else they should be known by, as their plan to get Henning the Texas Title was Perfect!
We head backstage where Kayla has General Skandor Akbar near the Gorilla Position. The General predicts Devastation Inc.'s victory, and that tonight will be the last of the Von Erichs as we know them. He blows past her as his music plays
Devastation Incorporated (The Mercenaries & Vader) w/ General Skandor Akbar vs Kevin, Kerry & David Von Erich - Six Man War
Pat tells us there won't be much wrestling in this one, folks. The mercenaries and Vader step inside the cage first. The Von Erichs are out next to a raucous ovation. Akbar retreats around the cage and Kevin has to restrain David from chasing him. Kerry is yelling "Where's Lacey?" to Akbar, who just laughs. As soon as the brothers step into the cage, the fight erupts. The referee closes the cage door and stands guard on the step. His only job is to count to ten. one all three members of one team are down.
David is wailing away on Vader Kerry has one Mercenaries tied up in the ropes, while the other works over Kevin in the corner. It doesn't take long for Kerry to have his face ground into the cage wall and begin to gush blood. Akbar pushes a couple of Kendo Sticks through the chain link and the Mercenaries are using them to bash Kevin and David. The Brothers all fight back and we get the expected triple claw spot, with all three Von Erichs holding on long enough to force their opposition first to their knees and them to the mat. The Von Erichs release the holds and back into a corner together, calling for the count to begin. The official gets to about 6 before one of the Mercenaries pulls himself up in the opposite corner.
All six men charge and collide in the center of the ring again, and suddenly, Akbar is seen running up the ramp, but no on inside the ring notices. Brian points it out and says this cannot be good news for the Von Erichs. The battle continues, David laying out Vader with a Piledriver, then doing to help Kevin neutralize one of the Mercenaries. They work on the mask for a moment before the second masked man comes to make the save. Kerry powerslams one and them hits a discus punch to the other, and once again, all three heels are on the mat. The referee only gets to 3 this time before Vader is to his feet. Kevin dropkicks him through the ropes and into the cage wall. The Mercenaries catch David with a superkick into a Release German Suplex combo. Vader and Kerry are using what is left of the Kendo Sticks to beat each other down.
The crowd pops when Akbar emerges on the ramp, this time leading Lacey Von Erich forcefully by the elbow. She has her hands tied behind her back and is gagged. Her appearance at ringside catches Kerry's attention and he is clawing at the door to get to his daughter. Vader catches Kevin with a Vader Bomb, and The Mercenaries hit a Total Elimination on Kevin. Akbar pulls the gag from Lacey's mouth, and she cries out, pleading for Akbar's army to not hurt her family. Akbar yanks the referee off the steps and leads Lacey up and opens the cage door.
She reluctantly ducks through the ropes, and Kerry pulls her in close. Vader and The Mercenaries have Kevin and David in bad shape, and there is a stare-down as Kerry realizes the situation. Lacey pulls her dad back towards the cage door. He turns and is met but a swift kick to the groin! Lacey watches her father Kerry crumble with a blank stare, then reaches in her pants and produces three sets of brass knuckles. She throws them to The Mercenaries and Vader and they put them to good use. All three brothers are quickly bloodied and beaten. Each one gets a Total Elimination from the Mercenaires and then a Vader Bomb to complete the devastation. As the referee begins his count, Lacey stands between the Mercenaries and they slowly pull the masks off their heads.
Your Winners (13:22) Devastation, Incorporated.
Brian screams out "Oh No! It can't be." Pat echoes his shock. "MARSHALL AND ROSS VON ERICH!
The crowd sits in stunned silence at first, as the realization of the moment sinks in. Akbar's crew resume the beating after the bell. The referee calls for the cage to be lifted and security heads down the ramp to separate everyone. Lacey gets in some kicks to her father and uncles before being led away by her cousins and Vader.
Brian is aghast. He never thought that the younger Von Erich boys could be the men behind all the attacks and violence against Kerry, Kevin & David. Pat thinks Akbar was the man behind it all but found willing vessels for the violence in Ross and Marshall. Brian has no idea how the Von Erich family goes on from here.
Backstage, Kayla has caught up with the Victorious Devastation Inc. They are laughing and celebrating their big moment. Lacey says that the plan was in place all along and that her cousins had worked everyone in WCCW for months on end. Kayla asks if they think the war is over, and Lacey respond of course it is, Devastation Inc has just ripped out the hearts of the Von Erich Family.
Quick video package recapping the Best of seven series to this point. We see a split screen of Ric and Dusty in their locker rooms in the final moments before this final encounter.
The Nature Boy Ric Flair vs. The American Dream Dusty Rhodes - World Class Heavyweight Championship Best of Seven Series - Match Seven
Series Tied 3-3
As the entrances and ring introductions are made, we get some picture in picture shots of various wrestlers in the stands or in the back watching on a monitor... Curt Hennig and Perfection in a sky box. Mustafa Ali in the stands sitting with his wife and kids. Pac sitting on a crate backstage. Apollo Crews in the midst of the crowd. Nikita Koloff in the Gorilla position. Mark Henry standing by a monitor with Miss Tessmacher. The shots come back to two men sitting at ringside. Brian Myers immediately recognizes Kazuchika Okada and Tomohiro Ishii. He asks if Pat know who those men are, and McAfee responds, "A couple of guys who can create a lot of Chaos if they so choose."
The bell rings and Dusty propels forward like he was shot out of a cannon, quickly taking Flair down with a double leg takedown and starting to connect with hard left and right hands. Flair thumbs him in the eye and rolls out of the ring to try and catch his breath, but Rhodes quickly recovers and steps onto the apron and leaps off with a clothesline. Rhodes scoops him up in a suplex position and drops him sternum first onto the metal barricade. Dusty rolls back in the ring to break the count and then rolls back out and hits a quick snap suplex on the floor. He rolls Flair back in and drops and elbow on Flair's injured ribs. He picks Flair up and drops him on the ropes before pulling him in and completing the Slingshot Suplex.
Rhodes floats over for the first cover of the match and gets 2. He whips Flair into the corner and nails a hard chop before backing up and hitting a running knee to the ribs. Rhodes hits a side suplex and then hooks in an abdominal stretch, grabbing the ropes for additional leverage. The official knocks Dusty's hand off the ropes, allowing Flair to hiptoss him and escape the hold. Dusty's up quickly and complains loudly. This distraction allows Flair to chop block Rhodes's ankle and then slowly struggle to his feet.
Flair starts slowly working on Dusty's knee and ankle, stomping on his leg before dropping several elbows. He drags Rhodes over to the corner and then slides out of the ring and slams his leg hard into the ringpost and then into the ring apron. Flair slides back into the ring, ties Rhodes's leg in the ropes and winces a bit as he picks up some momentum and drops his knee onto Rhodes's knee. Flair with a dragon screw leg whip before locking on a figure four. Flair grabs the rope for additional leverage before the referee pulls his arms off, allowing Dusty to reverse the hold. Flair releases the hold and waits for Rhodes to get to his feet before nailing a lariat. Flair grimaces in pain but manages to get Rhodes up and hit a DDT. He covers and Rhodes barely kicks out at 2 3/4.
Ric nails Rhodes right in the back of the head with a forearm shot and then locks in a sleeper. Dusty's face is a mask of pain as he struggles and tries to reach the ropes. Flair leans back and locks it in tighter, Rhodes struggles but eventually uses every inch of his frame to reach out and barely graze the bottom rope, drawing a break. Dusty can barely make it back to his feet and Flair smirks as he scoops him up for a body slam. Ric covers and puts his feet on the middle ropes just to be an asshole. And that arrogance costs him as the official again shoves his feet off the ropes, breaking the count at 2. Ric turns and starts jawing with him, allowing Rhodes time enough to recover and roll him up from behind for a close 2 count.

Rhodes slams the mat in frustration before picking Flair up and hitting a vertical suplex. This time however, Ric's legs inadvertently connect with the referee on the way down, knocking him out. Rhodes locks on his own sleeper hold. falling back and applying a body scissors along with it. Flair is screaming and tapping but there's no referee.
Dusty releases and goes to revive the referee. Ric chop bocks Dusty’s knee and he collapses to the mat. Flair works the leg viciously again, trapping Dust yin the Figure four in the middle of the ring. Both men are exhausted, and Dusty doesn’t have the strength to reverse the hold, no matter how hard he tries. Finally, Dusty falls back on the mat and the referee is able to count 1…2…3
