WCCW The Ghost on the Coast
From The USS Lexington Museum, Corpus Christi, Texas Saturday, November 5th
Promoter: Paul Boesch
General Manager: William Regal
Announce Team: The Professional Brian Myers & Pat McAfee
Open with a video package highlighting the history of the Blue Ghost.
Brian welcomes up to The Ghost on the Coast, live from the flight deck of the legendary USS Lexington Museum here in Corpus Christi Texas. Pat runs down our abbreviated card. It might be low on quantity, but will more than make up for it in quality. We will see Mustafa Ali make his in ring debut, A Last Man Standing Match between Wahoo McDaniel and Dustin Rhodes, The Mercenaries in action, and Match three of the Best of Seven Series between Ric Flair and Dusty Rhodes.
Pat is excited to see the action tonight, and here we go!
The cameras cut to Gino Hernandez and Gentleman Chris Adams sitting in the crowd, watching highlights from Wrestling Star Wars on their phone. We see the scene where the Mercenaries attacked The Von Erichs backstage at the event. Gino assures Chris "The plan is still in place" and Adams thinks they need to get off this little dinghy before it sinks into the Gulf of Mexico.
The Russian Bear Ivan Koloff vs. Mustafa Ali
Nice wrestling opening and the Bear takes the early advantage, snaring a headlock and grounding the high flyer before he can get off the ground. Ivan grinds his face into the mat, then hits the ropes for a vicious kneelift. The Bear with a scoop slam and a clothesline. Ali is staggering, but blocks a hip toss and sends Koloff across the ring with one of his own. A dropkick, a step up Enziguri, and a Tornado DDT have the momentum clearly reversed. Ivan gets in a few punches and Ali chops him back. The exchange doesn't last long, and Ali connects with a superkick. Ali somersaults between the ropes and hits a neckbreaker. Then he goes up top for the 0-5-4 and gets 1-2-3.
Your Winner, Pinfall (8:14) Mustafa Ali
Brian goes through the highlights as Pat hits the ring to introduce Kerry, Kevin & David Von Erich along with Lacey Von Erich. Kevin talks first, saying they should have known that Skandor Akbar would be up to his old tricks. David interjects, telling us he knew Gino was up to know good before Destination Dallas 2, and they're going to make him pay for his betrayal. Kerry says they'll be keeping an eye on the Mercenaries tonight.
Pat leads us through a highlight from the insanity of the Lumberjack Steel Cage Match where Rey Mysterio Jr. and Ultimo Dragon executed their amazing stereo moonsaults off the top of the cage. He wonders if their arial assaults will have any effect on the Mercenaries tonight.
The Mercenaries w/ General Skandor Akbar vs. Ultimo Dragon & Rey Mysterio Jr.
Unfortunately, we will not find out the answer to Pat's question tonight. Akbar sends his charges right at Ultimo, as Akbar distracts Mysterio. They level the Dragon with a Total Elimination and Rey is faced with a handicap match. The Luchador won't back down, and holds his own for several minutes, using his speed and agility to avoid the ultra-aggressive masked men. Finally, one catches him with a fall away slam and they take over, grounding and kicking Rey until he cannot move. He gets rag dolled into his corner, where Ultimo has drug himself onto the apron and tags himself in the match.
That ends up being a huge mistake. A Double Brainbuster and a diving elbow drop later, the Mercenaries claim another win.
Your Winners (Pinfall 5:02) The Mercenaries
And, right on cue, the Mercs and Akbar begin to kick and stomp away at their foes. The Mercenaries hit both men with repeated cane shots and superkicks to the jaw. Suddenly, Kerry, Kevin and David Von Erich hit the ring and clean house! Lacey slaps Akbar and the heels retreat. McAfee compares their arrival to the Texas Rangers saving the day.
Kevin grabs a Mic and challenges them to a tag team match at Black Friday, and David insists that the brothers will rip those masks off their heads and ram them up Akbar's no good behind!
Kerry says the brothers know who the men behind the mask are, and Kevin announces they're going to expose heinous duo in front of the entire Lone Star State! He suspected ever since the build up to Destination Dallas that Gino Hernandez had something up his sleeve, he was missing workouts and blowing the brothers off. Why? Because Akbar was bringing him the World Class to wrestle under a mask!
David Screams out Chris Adams' and Gino Hernandez' names, insisting that they are the Mercenaries, and at Black Friday, they are going to prove it!
Brian and Pat are almost speechless at the demeanor the Von Erich Brothers are displaying. Pat can't wait to see that match and Brian wonders if the Von Erich's allegations could be true. Could Chris and Gino really be the Mercenaries? Pat tells him we'll have to wait until November 25th to find out.
General Manager William Regal makes his way to the ring to address the crowd before our next tilt. He issues a verbal warning to the fans in attendance. The next match is a Last Man Standing Match that is most likely going to leave the confines of the squared circle and the men may well end up bleeding on every square inch of this vessel. He implores them to be vigilant and to stay out of harms way. Security will be around the ship, but Rhodes and McDaniel have proven capable of doing things no one could anticipate.
Wahoo McDaniel vs The Natural Dustin Rhodes Last Man Standing Match
Prophetically, as soon as the bell rings, the men charge at one another and tumble right through the ropes and out of the ring. Wahoo bounces Dustin's face off the ring steps and blast him with a chair. Rhodes wrestles the chair away from Wahoo and returns serve, but the crafty Indian moves out of the way and pushes Dustin into the guardrail.
They battle over the guardrail and into the crowd. Security does an admirable job of clearing the crowd out of the way, letting Dustin suplex Wahoo into a row of empty chairs.
They walk, chop and punch their way out of the seating area and onto the main part of the ship. Dustin sends wahoo barreling into the large ship bell. Wahoo is drug across the ship and run head first into steel wall. Dustin finds a replica bomb and brandishes it over his head to throw at McDaniel, but he gets hit with a low blow, then Wahoo DDTs Rhodes onto the weapon.
The two scratch and claw their way to the other end of the flight deck, Seemingly taking turns bouncing one another off of airplane wings and display boards alike. Wahoo finds a length of chain that they had broken off of one of the artifacts and has it wrapped around Dustin's neck now, choking him down and dragging him to the edge of the ship. He whips Dustin into one of the tourist telescopes, almost knocking an older man to the ground.
Dustin puts the brakes on and hurls Wahoo into an airplane fuselage. the connects with a big boot. Wahoo comes back a s slams Dustin into the guardrail on the edge of the ship. He presses Dustin's neck into the railing, and we see drops of blood go from The Natural's forehead straight down into the ocean. Wahoo relents, only to grab a glass cockpit cover and come running at Dustin with it over his head. Rhodes ducks low, then backdrops Wahoo up and OVER THE RAILING INTO THE GULF OF MEXICO! Dustin drops to his knees and puts his head between the railings to see if he can see McDaniel. The referee following the chaos looks around and starts the ten count, which is academic.
Your Winner (22:12) The Natural Dustin Rhodes
Pat and Brian express their shock and concern for McDaniel. Dustin is seemingly frozen in place, staring at the spot he thinks Wahoo went into the water. Pat doesn't know how to transition from that to talking about the last match for the night. They show some of the bloody highlights of the match, clearly stalling for time. After nearly ten minutes, William Regal finally comes down and takes the house mic, asking the fans to return to their seats. He assures them that the Museum has Emergency personnel on stand by for such an accident, and they have deployed and rescued Wahoo McDaniel. He is breathing but unconscious. Follow World Class social media for further updates.
Miss Tessmacher strolls to ringside as the crowd slowly gets back the to their seats. She gets in Regal's face. He hasn't been giving her TessMonsters enough competition. Regal reminds her Mark Henry had a match with Vader at Wrestling Star Wars.... and he lost. Tessmacher insists that was a fluke because of a idiotic referee, and it could never happen again. Mark was dominating Vader before he got lucky and it should rightfully be The World's Strongest Man getting that UWA Title Match.
Regal reminds her that Nick Aldis made that choice, not anyone at World Class. But she has a point. He will make sure the Japanese Invasion has a tag team match at Lone Star Live next week at Fort Bliss. And furthermore, he will put Mark Henry on the card at Black Friday later in the month. The World's Strongest Man will go one on one against... The Eight Wonder of The World, Andre The Giant! Tessmacher looks pissed, then pleased and sashays her way back behind the curtain.
The Nature Boy Ric Flair vs. The American Dream Dusty Rhodes - World Class Heavyweight Championship Best of Seven Series Match Three
Flair Leads the Series 2-0
Brian reminds us how we got to this point as the men lock up. Pat points out the difference between the wild brawl and these two men having a technical wrestling match in the middle of the ring. Both are in top form, reversing hammerlocks and headlocks, giving armdrags and hip tosses. Dusty even gets a dropkick after a Flair clothesline.
Brian points out that Flair has yet to truly beat Dusty clean, Pointing out the low blow in Houston and the roll of quarters at Star Wars. Flair must have heard that, as he ramps up the pace dramatically. He suplexes Dusty and connects with a series of elbow drops for a 2 count. Dusty goes for a Thesz Press, but Ric lets the momentum carry them to the ropes, where Dusty gets Hot Shot-ed on the top rope across the throat. He snaps back and lands hard on the mat. Ric with a spinning toe hold and the rolling kneedrop. He locks in the Figure four and Dusty, struggling to breathe the entire time, desperately clutches at the referee. The official calls for the bell.
Your Winner (Submission 14:54) The Nature Boy Ric Flair
Pat is amazed. Brian recounts some of sports greatest 3-0 comebacks, noting Dusty will have to match those feats and then some all by himself to claim the World Class Heavyweight Title. The final images on screen before we fade to black are Flair taunting Dusty with three fingers in his face, while a couple of paramedics put an oxygen mask on the Dream to help him breathe.
