CCW Superstar Saturday on SCA, episode 28: The Return
Taped at the Andy Kaufman Studios in Dothan, Alabama
Commentators: Bob Caudle and Dutch Mantel
Ring Announcer: SoCal Val
The camera comes up on Bob Caudle and Dutch Mantel standing at the commentary set. They explain about how things are different from recent weeks, but much like they were before the brand split. They’ve got new champions, new talent and a new attitude. They’re about finding the stars of tomorrow, not recycling the ones from yesterday. A prime example of that is “Mega Man” Tom Magee.
Magee comes out and is very soft spoken and polite, saying Mr. Caudle and Mr. Mantel. He knows the sky is the limit for him in CCW. However, he’s interrupted by Chris Jericho, who proudly boasts “Le Champion” is here to save CCW. Caudle tells Jericho this is Magee’s interview time and he scoffs. He tells Magee to go get him a Diet Coke. Magee said he’s rather go get victory in the ring.

Magee makes short work of the wildman jobber and finishes with the Mega Driver, which is a spinning power slam. Jericho sits in on commentary and berates Magee, calling him all body and no brains. Mantel says that’s reverse from Jericho, who’s all brains and no body. Jericho threatens to shave Dutch’s back and weave an area rug. He then plugs the U.S.A. Steak Buffet on Route 10, because Saturday is prime rib night.
Winner: Tom Magee by pinfall at 5:12COMMERCIAL
Caudle welcomes one of the few holdovers from the previous era of CCW, the York Foundation. This includes Nicholas Aldis, Thomas Rich, Martin Jannetty, Nicholas Nemeth and Kamille York. Aldis says they didn’t stay, everyone else ran off because they were scared of the rising power they saw in the York Foundation. They’re not a leftover regime, they’re the foundation for a new era. The York Foundation lives by the golden rule in that who has the gold makes the rule and that’s them. Andy Kaufman will present them with all the title belts at the end of the program. Caudle asks about the ppv challenge from Eddie Kingston. Aldis said Edward Kingston is an insignificant fly speck in the history of professional wrestling. If he winds up in the record books, it will only be mentioning how he was the first man Aldis defeated as CCW World Champion.

Jock Samson vs. The Patriot
Referee: Joey Marella
Samson is already in the ring and Patriot gets introduced by Val. The Patriot comes out to the entrance stage and plays to the crowd. A few moments later another Patriot takes the stage. They look virtually identical. They turn their heads so each is looking at the other. They slowly walk around each other, looking the other up and down. Then the two Patriots start trading punches and they fight off to the back. Samson, excitedly, tells Marella to ring the bell and start a count out. Joey shrugs, calls for the bell and counts the Patriot out. Jock celebrates like he just beat Andre Giant at Wrestlemania III.
Winner: Jock Samson by count out at 10 seconds COMMERCIAL
Tessa Blanchard comes out with the CCW Women’s Title. By virtue of the men’s slate being wiped clean, she’s now the longest reigning champ in CCW history. And while a lot is different, the women’s division is still mostly the same with everyone chasing her for a title shot. That includes Lita, who is pretending to nurse her back injury from all the way back at the women’s title tournament show. Caudle mentions Lita and Taya Valkyrie, who injured Lita’s back, will have a match later today with the winner facing Tessa at the ppv for the title.

“Superstar” Billy Graham vs. “Junkyard Sheik” Rok Wyler
Referee: Joey Marella
Graham flexes to start and the fans cheer. Wyler does it, with his chubby body, and the fans boo. Graham poses again to cheers, which allows Wyler to attack him from behind. Wyler clubs him down and poses again to boos. He whips Graham into the corner and charges into a big boot. Atomic elbow off the second rope. Axe Bomber. Wyler pops up into a second, then a third. Wyler roles to the floor. He acts like he’s going to walk off, but Billy takes the floor, grabs Wyler from behind and throws him back into the ring. Wyler backs off. He tries a low blow, but Graham closes his legs, so Rok doesn’t connect. Billy shakes his finger, ‘no.’ He beats Wyler around the ring. Body slam, leg drop. Rok gets the shoulder up on the pin. Graham calls for the bear hug and gets it. Wyler quickly submits.
Winner: Billy Graham by submission at 6:47
Graham goes over to the commentary position and talks about how the new direction of CCW doesn’t change his direction. Since day one, he has been focused on the top title in the company and he’s already had run-ins with the York Foundation and Nick Aldis. He respects that Eddie Kingston is penciled in for the title shot on the ppv, but he’s not the only York Foundation member out there with a title belt. “Backstabber” Thomas Rich, the Superstar is coming for you.

Lita comes out and says her back isn’t quite 100 percent, but it’s close. She’s not nursing anything. She’s working hard. She wants the match with Blanchard she should have had at the women’s title tournament show. If she has to be go through Valkyrie again to do it, she will. She’s not afraid of Taya. Taya comes out and gets in Lita’s face telling her not to overlook the Queen of Valhalla. They shove each other and start fighting.

Lita slides to the floor and Valkyrie is livid in the ring. Lita’s celebration on the floor is short-lived as Tessa runs in from behind and nails Lita in the back of the head with the Women’s Title. Tessa holds the belt up and stands over Lita as the show fades to break.

The Honky Tonk Man introduces his new interview segment, Honky’s Chateau. His first guest is Eddie Kingston, who comes from nowhere and weasels his way into a world title match. Kingston reiterates what he said to Andy Kaufman and Col. Robert Fuller. He doesn’t ask to be given things, he asks for opportunities to earn things. He questions HTM, not being upset about Aldis just being handed the world title later in the night. HTM said Aldis has been in CCW and proven himself. Kingston came in on the last train. Eddie says how he has proven himself time and time again all around the world. He always comes in the on the bottom and leaves on top. Kingston is tired of being a journeyman, he wants a permanent home. Continental can be it. They want to do less with more. That’s been Eddie his whole life. Aldis will be served the world title on a silver platter. Kingston will take that belt and shove that silver platter up Nick’s entitled ass.

Andy Kaufman is in the ring with the York Foundation. He announces how the next pay per view will be the one year anniversary of him coming into Continental Championship Wrestling. The first show was Phoenix Rising and this will be Phoenix Re-Rising. He then presents the new CCW Television Title to Thomas Rich, the tag titles to Jannetty and Nemeth and the CCW World Title to Aldis. The Machines stand on the entranceway and watch the whole thing. Aldis challenges the Machines to come get them if they have a problem. Counting the jacked Kamille, it’s five-on-three and he likes those odds. However, Billy Graham comes out and stands with the Machines. Then Kingston comes out. They charge the ring and everybody brawls as the show fades. Kaufman dives to the floor and hides under the ring to be out of the way.
