CCW Superstar Saturday on SCA, episode 12
The camera pans the Andy Kaufman Studios in Dothan, Alabama, and then comes upon the commentary team of Gorilla Monsoon and the Honky Tonk Man.
GM: Welcome to what promises to be a monumental episode of Superstar Saturday here on Sports Channel America. We’ve been informed that the big WarGames Gauntlet match set for Halloween night has been expanded from eight teams to 10.
HTM: So many people wanted in on it, Gorilla. It will be one of the most brutal matches in wrestling history, but it also has one of the greatest rewards. The winning team will have guaranteed shots at whatever titles they want, including the MUW Men’s title.
GM: We’ve got two new stables debuting this week who will be entering the WarGames Gauntlet and we have the first coming out here now, led by Nick Aldis.
Nick Aldis walks out with Dean Malenko, Kamille and the Good Brothers. He takes the microphone.
NA: Continental Championship Wrestling appears to be the new place to be in the Mash-Up Wrestling Universe. During the last draft I had every promoter blowing up my phone, but when Ron Fuller told me I could come here and call my own shots, I couldn’t resist that. And when I was told I needed a team, I knew who to call. The lovely Kamille was already in my corner, but now I have the “Iceman” Dean Malenko and the Good Brothers of Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows.
DM: I had people ask me if I was upset that Ric Flair didn’t ask me to reform the Four Horsemen with him last week. I’m not, because Nick Aldis is everything Ric Flair used to be and then some. And who’s to say he didn’t call me and I turned him down, because I had a much better option.
KA: Luke and I are here in CCW for two reasons. One is to watch the National Treasure’s back. The other is to take those Southeastern Tag Team Titles from the Steiner Brothers. Steiners, you better hope you two aren’t in the cage at WarGames the same time as us, because if you are, you’ll be leaving it in body bags.
NA: When we take over this promotion and have all the gold around our waists, I just want all the boys in the back to know it’s not personal. It’s Strictly Business.

“The National Treasure” Nick Aldis vs. “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka
Referee: Aubrey Edwards
“The National Treasure” Nick Aldis vs. “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka
Referee: Aubrey Edwards
The two lockup to start. They jockey about before Snuka goes to a headlock. Aldis pushes out of it and they do a crisscross sequence that ends with Aldis getting a scoop slam for a two count. Aldis stands and gloats, telling Snuka to get up. Nick reaches down to pull him up and Snuka comes back with chops to the midsection. Snuka fires Aldis into the ropes and hits him with a chop in the gut as he bounces off that flips Nick over and to is back. Snuka poses. Aldis stands and they lock up again.
Aldis goes behind for a waistlock and pushes Jimmy into the ropes for an O’Connor Roll, but he grabs the strands to block. Aldis rolls back and up to his feet. He charges and Snuka pulls the top rope down. Aldis goes over, but lands on the apron. He stands while grabbing the rope and Snuka slingshots him back in. He follows with several headbutts. A body slam and Snuka goes up top for the Superfly Splash. Aldis was playing opossum and pops up. He takes Snuka off the top with a belly to belly superplex. He signals that’s it and finishes with the Mag Daddy Driver.
Winner: Nick Aldis by pinfall

Big Show vs. Super Patriot Mark III
Referee: Joey Marella
Big Show vs. Super Patriot Mark III
Referee: Joey Marella
Super Patriot is debuting and wears a mask. He seems in good shape, but doesn’t compare in size to the Big Show. Gorilla Monsoon on commentary mentions how Big Show is mad about his loss to Sheamus at Maximum Carnage and his lack of use by the CCW bookers.
Show lunges at Super Patriot at the bell, but he rolls to the left and behind Show. Super Patriot clips the knee to put Big Show down on his face. He grabs an ankle lock with grapevine. Big Show has nowhere to go and taps out after about a minute.
Winner: Super Patriot Mark III by submission
Super Patriot rolls to the floor immediately and takes off after the match. Show is enraged and wants to take that out on someone. The only one in the ring is announcer Brandi Rhodes. She looks scared as Show stares her down. He comes over and grabs her around the throat. The fans boo. Then out of nowhere, Kane appears and slides into the ring. Show stops and looks at Kane. Kane comes over and puts his hand across Show’s throat. Show lets go of Brandi and puts his hand on Kane’s throat. Kane nods slowly, Show nods back and they break off. Today will not be the day for them to fight.
The camera cuts back to the desk.
GM: We saw the unstoppable force vs. the immovable object there and I know we will get more from them in the future. But, right now, we have the pleasure and, I use that term loosely, of “Stunning” Steve Austin and the Midnight Express.
SA: We weren’t here last week, because we were still recovering from the Scaffold Match at Maximum Carnage. That crazy sumbitch Randy Savage dropped the elbow on me from 200-feet in the air, or whatever it was. And, now, I’m told we have to go through another insanely brutal match to get the title shots we so richly deserve.
HTM: I count three men. You need one more for the WarGames Gauntlet.
SA: Oh, you better believe I’ve got one more. In fact, I’ve got two more. And their just as stunning as me and the Midnight Express. Let me introduce to you, Chris Candido and Tammy Lynn Sytch.
The pair walk out and Sytch takes the microphone.
TLS: I am stunning, aren’t I? And I’ve surround myself with Stunners. Nick Aldis was out here earlier talking about how all of this was strictly business and nothing personal. Well, I like combining my business with pleasure and it will be my pleasure to be the premiere manager and premiere woman here in CCW.
Before Sytch can continue, she’s interrupted by Randy Savage, Jim Duggan and Strike Force coming out. The crowd pops. Savage has a microphone.
RS: Oh yeah! Old School Madness is in the house. Gorilla Monsoon said at the start of the show the teams for the WarGames Gauntlet went from eight teams to 10. Well, you’re looking at one of those new teams right here.
SA: No! I don’t want you anywhere near us in that cage!
RS: Is that fear I hear in your voice? Is “Stunning” Steve a little yellow dog running home while wagging his tail behind him. Oh yeah! I fear no scaffolding, I fear no steel cage and I fear no man.
TLS: This is our moment. Not yours. Get out of here, Savage.
RS: Tammy Lynn Sytch rhymes with something I can’t say on basic cable. Oh yeah! Let’s say next week your new man Chris Candido faces our new man Jim Duggan.
JD: I’ll snap into Candido like I snap into Clark Bars, sponsor of the WarGames Gauntlet. And there is a word I can say for Tammy Sytch. Everyone yell it with me. Ho!
The crowd yells ‘ho’ back. Santana and Martel then throw Clark Bars in the air and Duggan uses his 2x4 like a baseball bat to smack them at the Stunners. They cry and run out of the way as we fade to break.
Commercial
Sheamus is out and looks around at all the Clark Bars lying around. He opens one and starts eating it.
GM: Gulf Coast Champion Sheamus, out here enjoying a Clark Bar and to address the challenge made last week by Eli Drake.
Sheamus: I’m so concerned about Eli Drake, I’d rather enjoy this delicious Clark Bar packed full of chocolate and peanut butter crunch. I do want to correct something he said last week. I never said give me somebody. They said I want Sheamus and I want that Gulf Coast Title. I just never run from a challenge. You want me on Halloween night Drake, you got it, and it won’t be a treat for you.
We cut to the back. Brandi Rhodes finds “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert just loitering in a hallway.
BR: I wanted to find Kane and thank him for saving me.
EG: I have nothing to do with him anymore. Hot Stuff Incorporated has been liquidated. Wrath and Mortis have been dumped and Kane…well, I guess you can say I released him back into the wild. He’s his own man now.
BR: But where might he be?
EG: I don’t know and I don’t care. My problem was I was worrying about him, trying to run a stable, who my ex-wife was banging. No more. Eddie Gilbert’s only concern anymore is Eddie Gilbert.
A dejected Brandi Rhodes hangs her head and leaves. Gilbert feels a pair of eyes on him and he turns to see who it is. The camera cuts to reveal a silent Super Patriot Mark III.
EG: What are you looking at?
Super Patriot says nothing and walks off. Gilbert scoffs.
EG: Yeah, that’s what I thought.
We go back out to the commentary table.
GM: We just heard from the Old School Savages and the Stunners. Two sort of existing stables here in CCW. But, we promised you two brand new stables that would be entering the WarGames Gauntlet. We’ve met Strictly Business and now we have SoCal Uncensored of Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky.
The trio walk out.
HTM: I’m guessing math isn’t your strong points. You’re a man short.
CD: Are you volunteering, Honky?
HTM: Uh…I have to call the show with Monsoon.
GM: I think I could make do alone.
CD: We wouldn’t want you holding us back, Honky. We have a fourth man and he’s the perfect partner for SoCal Uncensored. He’s the Rated R Superstar right here on Superstar Saturday, Edge.
Edge comes out to a huge pop. He takes the microphone.
Edge: What Continental Championship Wrestling has lacked are loose cannon wild cards who are uncensored and rated R. We’re not here to play nice or kotow to Ron Fuller or Andy Kaufman. We’re here to win championships and run this place like a boss. That starts Halloween Night at the WarGames Gauntlet.
Commercial
GM: Even though we haven’t heard from them, we know that Missy’s Men will be part of the WarGames Gauntlet and that leaves us with one more team to officially join to give us 10.
HTM: Oh, geez, Monsoon don’t tell me they’re letting these clowns in.
Shawn Michaels, Marty Jannetty, Bobby Fulton and Tommy Rogers enter to a lot of a screaming women.
MJ: Shawn and I might already be the Gulf Coast Tag Team Champions, but there’s a lot more gold out there to get. And plenty to share with our friends the Fantastics.
BF: We had a great triple threat match at Maximum Carnage with Badd Company. We respect the Midnight Rockers and they respect us. We know we’re the underdogs heading into the WarGames Gauntlet, but Cinderella stories do happen and we’re going to make it happen on Halloween Night in Kansas City, Missouri at Kemper Arena.
They exit and Monsoon throws it to the ring.
CCW Wild Card Title Match – Must Win by Finisher
“The Man with the Hands of Stone” Ronnie Garvin (c) vs. “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig
Referee: Joey Marella
They lockup and Hennig pushes Garvin into the corner. As Marella calls for the break, Hennig shoves Garvin in the chest. They lockup again, Garvin is pushed back again and Hennig shoves Ronnie in the chest on the break. This time Garvin shoves back and he blazes out of the corner with his dukes up. Hennig backs off to the far corner and yells at Marella to keep him back. Garvin motions for Curt to come at him. They lock up and more aggressively go into the corner. Hennig lays in three chops. Ronnie reverses positions and lays in three chops. He pulls Hennig out of the corner by his hair with a snap mare. Curt slides across the ring and under the bottom rope to the floor.
Hennig tries to walk it off, but Garvin climbs to the apron and stomps Curt from behind. That gets his attention. Back in the ring, Hennig puts his fists up and wants to box. Ronnie laughs and obliges him. Curt lands a couple of shots, but Garvin comes back with his Hands of Stone and has Hennig rocked. A woozy Curt is lined up for the Stone Cutter reverse stunner, but Hennig drops to the mat and rolls out of the ring again. Garvin doesn’t waste time and follows him. Hennig sees this and runs around the ring with Garvin chasing. He slides into the ring first and catches Garvin coming back in with a knee lift.
Hennig knocks Garvin about the ring. He hooks a front facelock for the Perfect-Plex, but Ronnie makes himself dead weight and falls to the mat. Curt stomps him in frustration. He leans over to pick Garvin up, who suckers him with a small package. Marella doesn’t count, because it must be win by finisher. They come out of it and Hennig tries for the Perfect-Plex again, but Garvin blocks by grabbing Curt around the waist and sitting him on the top turnbuckle. A haymaker sends Hennig flipping over to the apron. Garvin clotheslines him to the outside. Garvin slides out and they exchange chops on the floor. Hennig reverses a whip and sends Ronnie into the ring post. He bounces back into a backdrop suplex. Hennig slides back into the ring, but there’s no count out.
Garvin makes the apron and Hennig catches him, trying from the Perfect-Plex to the inside. Garvin fights it off and tries for the Stone Cutter from the apron and Hennig fights out. Garvin surprises with a sunset flip back in, but again there’s no count. Ronnie gets a camel clutch. Curt powers up and slams Garvin on his back. Hennig pulls Garvin up with a whip to the corner, but gets reversed. Curt pops out and straight into a massive right hand. Normally that would be it. Ronnie pulls Curt up into the Stone Cutter, but he hooks him around the waist for an overhead belly to belly suplex. Hennig pulls him up for the Perfect-Plex, but Garvin reverses for his own suplex. He pulls Curt up for the Stone Cutter, but Hennig ducks under Garvin’s other shoulder while grabbing his head for his own Stone Cutter. Before Garvin can drop, Hennig hooks a front facelock and nails the Perfect-Plex.
Winner and NEW Wild Card Champion: “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig

CCW Gulf Coast Six Man Tag Team Titles Match
Powers of Fear (Haku, Barbarian and Warlord) vs. Ultimate Blade Runners (Sting, Ultimate Warrior and Kerry Von Erich)
Referee: Tommy Young
Davey Boy Smith is outside for the Blade Runners and Kaufman and Yokozuna are outside for the Powers of Fear.
Von Erich starts off with the Warlord. He wants a test of strength and Kerry is happy to oblige, but he gets kicked in the gut and thrown in the heel corner. The heels use quick tags to pummel Von Erich. Haku grinds him on the mat with a nerve pinch. Kerry fights his way up, but Haku puts him in a Samoan Drop. Tag to Barbarian who comes in off the top with a knee drop. He hits a neckbreaker and covers for two. Big boot off the ropes and he goes for a showy, high jump elbow drop, but Von Erich rolls out of the way and tags Warrior.
Warrior is a house of fire. He punches Barbarian down and then knocks Haku and Warlord off the apron. Warrior hits a flying shoulder tackle on Barbarian. He pops up to take a second. He tags Sting. He slings Barbarian into the near corner and follows with a Stinger Splash. Haku and Warlord then run into the ring to attack Sting. Kerry and Warrior make the save. Everyone is fighting. Kaufman orders Yokozuna into the ring. He enters and starts headbutting everyone. Tommy Young calls for the bell.
Winners: The Ultimate Blade Runners by disqualification.
Davey Boy Smith runs in and brawls with Yokozuna. He dropkicks Yokozuna through the ropes to the floor. The other heels bail and the Blade Runners hold the ring as we fade.
