Cue the music! Cue the pyro! Another episode of Ring of Honor Wrestling is live on the air!
BURN IT DOWN!
Seth Rollins starts off tonight’s show as he makes his way down to the ring to a loud ovation from the RoH crowd.
Rollins starts off by saying everyone knows what he’s out here for. Rollins brings up the events over the past 5 weeks and how these two masked superstars have been getting involved in his matches, before promising that this ends tonight! Rollins mentions that the constant interference has caused him to make enemies in the back, specifically naming Ken Kennedy who he believes didn’t get a fair shot in the tournament due to their interference. Rollins takes a second to assure the crowd, he has no idea who is behind the masks, or what their motive is before he calls them both out here to reveal themselves. There’s a long pause, no music and no sign of the masked men. Annoyed, Rollins tells the crowd that “If they don’t want to come to me, I guess I’ll just have to go find them!” Rollins drops the mic as the crowd cheers, but before Rollins can leave the ring, out from the back come Sanity.
Sanity slowly enter the ring as Eric Young picks up the microphone that Rollins has dropped. Young tells Rollins he’s wasting time chasing ghosts, because he’s never going to find the two masked men who have been guiding him through all his victories in Ring of Honor. Young tell Rollins that if he really wants to find them, all he needs to do is wrestle a match because they always seem to show up just in time to save Rollins from getting his ass kicked! Rollins takes offence to Young’s comments and steps towards him, but Killian Dain and Alexander Wolfe step forwards as well, backing Rollins off slightly. Young offers Sanity’s services to helping Rollins find the two masked men by offering to beat down Rollins until they come save him, but Rollins laughs it off, reminding Sanity they haven’t beaten anyone in Ring of Honor. This angers Young, who charges at Rollins, but Seth is quick to sidestep him and send him crashing over the top rope before being pounced on by Killian Dain and Alexander Wolfe.
EY rolls backs in to the ring, and the three members of Sanity continue to work over Seth Rollins until Ken Kennedy comes running down to the ring with a steel chair in his hands! Kennedy slides in to the ring and smashes Alexander Wolfe over the head with the chair! He then hits Young with the chair, before hitting Killian Dain with one shot to the stomach and two to the back, causing him to roll out of the ring. Kennedy then checks on Rollins in the corner as Sanity retreat to the back and we head to our first commercial break of the night.

{We return to the news that over the break, Ring of Honor Owner Eric Bischoff announced tonight’s main event will see Sanity’s Killian Dain and Alexander Wolfe taking on Seth Rollins and Ken Kennedy!
Also, next week, The World’s Greatest Tag Team of Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin will return to RoH and look to get their revenge on The Kingdom for that beat down 3 weeks ago!}
Match #1: Singles Match – 10-Minute Time Limit
Austin Aries w/ Scarlett Bordeaux vs. Mike Bennett ©
Ring of Honor Television Championship
Last week, Austin Aries promised 2020 was going to be his year, and he looks to start things off strong tonight by looking to become the new Television Champion. Both superstars took turns working over the other as this match was built as an incredibly even bout. Aries worked more of the face role in this match, but it didn’t matter much as both stars are so despised by the RoH crowd, that the in ring work needed to be what carried this one in terms of crowd reaction. Scarlett gets involved in this one hopping up on the apron, but appears to do more harm than good, distracting her boyfriend more than his opponent. The finish to this ones comes after Mike Bennett hits the Power of Love on Aries for the pin just after the 9-minute mark in this match to retain his Championship yet again.
Winner & STILLLLLLL RoH Televsion Champion: Mike Bennett by pinfall @ 9:14
{We head backstage to Tom Phillips who is standing outside the locker room of Michael Elgin.}
{We head backstage to Tom Phillips who is standing outside the locker room of Michael Elgin.}
Phillips reminds the audience of Elgin’s hard fought loss to Bobby Lashley last week in the final first round match of the tournament, before knocking of the locker room door, hoping to get a comment from Elgin on the loss. Phillips knocks, but there is no answer. He waits a minute before knocking again, but is surprised when the door opens to see Jay Lethal standing there looking unimpressed. Phillips tries to question Lethal on what he’s doing in Michael Elgin’s locker room, but Lethal simply tells him now is not a good time and slams the door shut as Phillips stands around looking confused.
Match #2: Singles Match
Brian Kendrick vs. Rob Van Dam
Ring of Honor World Heavyweight Championship Tournament: Quarter Finals
If it wasn’t for having Kurt Angle and Apollo Crews still scheduled for later on, this match would have easily won the early honors for match of the night! Brian Kendrick has completely rejuvenated himself since coming to Ring of Honor, and RVD is looking as good as ever, even after being off television for almost 5 weeks! Both men work a fast paced and hard hitting style both in the air and on the mat in this one. RVD takes Kendrick down with an enziguiri and goes up top for the 5-Star Frog Splash, but Kendrick manages to roll out of the way, and catches RVD as he gets back to his feet with the Bully Choke!
RVD is stuck in the middle of the ring and his fading fast as Kendrick keeps the submission hold locked tight. The crowd roar, really getting behind Kendrick who was the clear underdog in this match. Just then, Scarlett Bordeaux comes running back down the ramp and hops on the apron, distracting the referee just moments before RVD begins to tap out! Seeing his opponent tap out, Kendrick releases the hold and goes to try and get the attention of the referee who is still very distracted by the beautiful Scarlett Bordeaux. Just then, Austin Aries comes sliding in the ring and attacks Brian Kendrick, nailing him with a Brainbuster!
Aries grabs the dazed RVD and nails him with a Brainbuster as well before laying RVD on top of Kendrick and sliding out of the ring. Seeing her boyfriend leaving the ring, Scarlett leans forward and kisses the referee on the cheek before hopping off the apron and joining Aries on his way to the back. The referee turns around to see RVD on top of Brian Kendrick and counts the 3 in favour of Van Dam while the crowd let out a loud chorus of boo’s.
Winner: Rob Van Dam by pinfall @ 18:37
{We quickly cut backstage where Tom Phillips has caught up to Austin Aries and Scarlett Bordeaux. Phillips asks Aries why he just cost Brian Kendrick his match against Rob Van Dam, but Aries just laughs and walks off. Scarlett sticks around to simply say “loose ends” before walking off as we slowly fade to commercial.}

Match #3: Singles Match
Kurt Angle vs. Apollo Crews
Ring of Honor World Heavyweight Championship Tournament: Quarter Finals
If there was ever a match that could make a star out of someone, it was this one. Kurt Angle took Apollo Crews to his limit in this one, but Crews hung in there the entire time, not missing a beat. Apollo manages to get a near fall after managing to hit Angle with The Chariot, but Angle kicks out at two and almost blows the roof off the building! Eventually this match needed a winner, and it was the veteran who was the highly favoured opponent to begin with, ending this match with an Angle Slam for the victory and advancement to the semi-finals!
Winner: Kurt Angle by pinfall @ 21:12
Angle helps Crews up to his feet after the match and offer him his hand as a show of respect for the match. Crews happily shakes Angle’s hand and the two men embrace in the centre of the ring as Apollo Crews raises Angle’s hand in victory.
{We head backstage to Ring of Honor Owner Eric Bischoff who is standing in his office with a big smile on his face.}
Bischoff announces that on Saturday January 25th Ring of Honor presents it’s PPV debut “Best in the World!” Bischoff announces that Best in the World will feature the tournament finals for the RoH World Heavyweight Championship in the Main Event, as well as a match that will pit the two semi-final losers against each other for a future shot at the championship. Bischoff smiles again, before announcing that there will be more information provided by him next week along with some additional matches he’s working on filling the card with, but promises it will be one hell of a show! We quickly head back to ringside to ready for tonight’ main event.
Main Event: Tag Team Match
Sanity (Killian Dain & Alexander Wolfe) w/ Eric Young vs. Ken Kennedy & Seth Rollins
Though they may view each other as rivals at this point in their careers, Kennedy and Rollins are working together tonight thanks to Kennedy’s decision to aid Rollins at the start of the broadcast. Dain and Alexander both get their fair share of action in this match as well, as Sanity gets their first chance in RoH to work a match as more than just enhancement talent, which may help save them in the eyes of the fans as credible opponents down the road. Around the 15-minute point of the match, Ken Kennedy who had been taking quite the amount of punishment from Wolfe, manages to land and STO on Wolfe then sends both men down to the mat. Kennedy crawls to Rollins to make the hot tag, but before he can tag in, the two masked men hop over the barricade and pull Rollins off the apron! Rollins is furious and shoves the shorter of the two masked men as he begins to scream at them while Kennedy slowly begins to pull himself to his feet. Rollins shoves the shorter man again and goes after his mask, but is restrained by the taller masked man while the shorter one whispers something in his ear that makes Rollins’ jaw drop. The two men let go of Rollins and begin motioning to the back while Kennedy looks on confused from inside the ring. Looking confused and defeated, Rollins apologies to Kennedy and reluctantly makes his way up the ramp towards the back with the two masked men as the crowd boo’s. Kennedy, knowing he is now alone, turns around only to be flattened with a running crossbody by Killian Dain who was tagged in to the match during the commotion on the outside.
Dain begins to beat the hell out of Ken Kennedy, who struggles to put forth much offence himself. After another tag to Alexander Wolfe who gets to have his turn laying the boots to the defenceless Ken Kennedy, Killian Dain is tagged back in to the match once more, before finally hitting Kennedy with the Ulster Plantation for the pin.
Winners: Sanity by pinfall @ 17:46
Sanity stand tall over the fallen body of their opponent while commentary team question what was said to Rollins in order to convince him to leave with the two masked men as we slowly fade to out to the end of another episode of Ring of Honor Wrestling.
