Aldis grabs a microphone before the match starts, and before he starts speaking, the fans are already booing.
“Ace Romero, you are most disgusting up close than I even imagined! And what in the hell am I smelling? I’m beginning to think you shat yourself walking your fat ass down that ramp. You are so-”
Romero doesn’t let Aldis finish as he grabs the National Treasure and throws him halfway across the ring! The microphone goes flying and the fans begin cheering “ACEY! ACEY!” Romero dares Aldis to get up. Aldis has a look of shock and disgust on his face and rolls out of the ring, motioning that he’s done with Romero.

Burke stands in the corner and hands over his National Championship. Adam Page removes his ring gear and begins warming up and stretching in the corner. The referee calls for the bell and we are underway! Both men lock up in the center of the ring…
Page gets a great wristlock on Burke and begins to work the hold, old school style. Burke cries out in agony and is finally able to break Page’s grip. He pushes Page off into the ropes and attempts a clothesline.
Page leaps over, and as he comes back off the ropes…
Sends Burke down onto the mat with a stiff shoulder block. Burke tries to roll out of the ring, but Page grabs him by the ankle and pulls him back into the center of the ring. Burke tries to escape again.
The resourceful Hangman Page instead begins to push his knee into the back of Burke’s neck, crushing his throat against the ropes. Page breaks at the 3 count from the referee and then pulls Burke onto the mat for a near fall. Page brings Burke back to his feet, but Burke turns the tide with a swift kick to the gut followed by a neckbreaker. Several minutes elapse and Burke continues to work over Page in what has been the most integral title defense yet from Burke. Burke pushes Page chest first into the corner. He begins to back up and taunt to the crowd, before he runs towards Page and hits the ELIJAH EXPRESS! Page crumbles to the mat and Burke pins him. 1...2...NO! Page is still alive in this match. Burke slaps his hands on the mat in frustration. He pulls Page up, but Page manages to shuffle to the side and go behind Burke for the roll up! 1! 2! NO! Burke kicks out! Both men stand up to a vertical base at the same time. Page goes for a discus lariat, but Burke ducks and manages to hit the Elijah Experience on Page! 1! 2! 3! “Switchblade” Jay White v. Daniel Bryan (c)
The time has come and the crowd is absolutely electric for this main event. The hungry “Switchblade” Jay White stands in his corner loosening up while the AEW World Champion Daniel Bryan does the same. The referee begins to give instructions to both men and also checks them for illegal and/or foreign objects. The referee clears both men and calls for the bell!
Bryan comes out of his corner like a house on fire with a big clothesline to the Switchblade! He begins pummeling White with fists straight to the forehead. The crowd is chanting “LET’S GO BRYAN!” as the champion continues his attack. He hits the ropes and drops the knee on the head of White, only for a one count. For the next minute or so, Bryan works over White in the corner with various punches and kicks.
The kicks in the corner are driven into the sternum of Jay White who begins gasping for air. However, it’s a quick rake to the eyes that causes Bryan to back off. The fans boo.
White hits a series of strikes on Bryan, rocking him into a daze. Bryan crawls into the corner of the ring, but this only allows Jay White to target him more precisely.
White begins hitting a series of knees to the face of Bryan, causing the fans to become even more upset seeing their hero Daniel Bryan being battered by the Switchblade. The referee finally has to pull White away from Bryan. As White creates some distance, it’s only for a moment as he runs at Bryan with one final knee nearly decapitating the AEW World Champion. White brings Bryan to his feet and begins to utilize his striking offense again, but Bryan attempts to fight back. Bryan swings for a wild clothesline, but White ducks…
DRAGON SUPLEX! 1...2….near fall! White urges the referee to count faster until he realizes he’s wasting time. White positions himself on top of Bryan…
And begins laying stiff elbows into the face and jaw of Bryan in an incredibly malicious fashion. Several more minutes elapse as the Switchblade continues to have his way with Daniel Bryan, much to the disdain of the crowd. Then, White begins to climb the top rope...but Bryan is able to get to his feet! He rushes to the corner and tries to knock Jay White off the rope, but White hits a nasty forearm to the head of Bryan. This only seems to infuriate Daniel Bryan who lets out a primal scream and bitch slap’s White, who falls to the outside of the ring from the impact!
As White begins to recover, Bryan leaps through the ropes and connects with a beautiful suicide dive! The fans are loving the action as Bryan wastes no time rolling White back into the corner. White slowly gets to his feet…
RUNNING KNEE STRIKE FROM BRYAN!
1!
2!
NOOOOO! White kicks out at the very last millisecond! The fans collectively gasp, thinking that this was the end of the match. The resiliency of Jay White is incredible. Bryan brings White back to a vertical basis and nails several forearms to the head rocking White dizzy. White shakes his head as his eyes begun to bug out. He slaps Bryan in the face, taking him off guard…
AND NAILS THE BLADE RUNNER! WHITE HITS THE BLADE RUNNER!
1!
2!
NO! BRYAN KICKS OUT! The fans are going WILD as White stands up and grabs the ref by the shirt. The referee begins to threaten disqualifiction to Jay White who continues to verbally abuse the referee. Suddenly…
BRYAN PULLS WHITE INTO THE YES LOCK! The fans are going wild, shaking the guardrails, chanting for White to tap out! White tries to inch closer to the bottom rope, but Bryan repositions him into the center of the ring! White feverishly tries to reach out for a rope, but realizes he’s too far away...JAY WHITE TAPS OUT!
Winner and STILL AEW World Champion: Daniel Bryan
The referee raises Bryan’s hand, who is exhausted from the battle he just had with Jay White. The fans are cheering and jumping up and down in the crowd as Bryan holds his championship high. Suddenly…
The lights go out.
Confusion begins to set in across the arena as Bryan’s celebration is cut short…
“Hello, Daniel Bryan. So nice to see you again. Wow, what an incredible performance. Congratulations on retaining my AEW World Championship. I can see you’re keeping it warm for me - how considerate of you. I wanted to let you know that, despite what you may have thought, I haven’t forgotten about my championship. I haven’t forgotten the feeling of what its like to grab your hair in my hand and tear it out by its root. I haven’t forgotten the feeling of maiming your head and neck in hopes of giving you one final, career ending concussion. Daniel Bryan, I am coming for you and I am coming for my championship. But, fear not. To the well-organized mind, death is but the next great adventure. But my next great adventure, Bryan...mine is destroying you once and for all. Don’t worry, I’ll take good care of your wife and child.”
Kross begins to laugh maniacally on the big screen as boos are reigning down. Bryan begins to pace back and forth in the ring, muttering and cursing, yelling for Kross to “get his ass out here.”
Kevin Kelly: We knew his suspension would end today, and Killer Kross has wasted NO time making his presence felt!
Don Callis: He looks scarier than ever, Kevin. This does not look good for Daniel Bryan.
Kevin Kelly: And Don, it’s a damn shame that Bryan can’t even enjoy this victory tonight with Kross saying such disgusting things to him!
And with that, this incredibly AEW pay-per-view comes to an unnerving end. Where will the next saga of the Kross/Bryan story go? How will Bryan respond to Killer Kross’s comments about his wife, and his little girl? Tune in to the next episode of AEW Dynamite to find out!
