The show opens with a video package for "Downfall 2019", before heading to the announcer's table, where we meet our commentary team for the evening,
Mauro Ranallo and
Nigel McGuinness!
Mauro introduces himself and his partner and they go over the major points of the evening before sending things to the ring, where we see Ring Announcer and Interviewer,
Jeremy Borash, ready to introduce our first combatants of the evening.
And with that, it's time to begin "Downfall 2019"!
Singles Match
Dakota Kai vs. EmmaEmma was very arrogant in this match, and had to work to get her home country crowd to turn against her. Kai was very helpful in that aspect, as she has great offense and charisma, and would eventually win the match, avoiding the Spotlight Kick and delivering a Scorpion Kick, followed by the Kairopractor to get the pinfall!
Winner by Pinfall: Dakota Kai
Singles Match
Apollo Crews vs. "Prince Pretty" Tyler BreezeThese two have faced off multiple times in tag team action, but this was their first singles match showdown. Crews is one of the most impressive specimens on the roster, and his power and agility never cease to amaze the audience. Breeze has a lot of charisma and was selling Crews offense brilliantly, while also getting over with heel tactics, using eye pokes and cheap shots to try to gain advantages, and mocking Crews whenever he could, calling him "ugly" and "pathetic". Crews would eventually shut Breeze up for good, catching him in the middle of a Spinning Wheel Kick attempt and hoisting him up, planting him with a version of his Crews Control to take Breeze down for the three count.
Winner by Pinfall: Apollo Crews
Singles Match
"The Alpha Female" Jazzy Gabert vs. Toni StormThe Australian wrestling star Toni Storm was making her debut here after challenging "The Alpha Female" in Perth, a match made after Gabert's previously scheduled opponent, Lacey Evans, left the company into a blockbuster trade that landed Storm here in PPW. The crowd was very hot, backing Storm against the Goliath of a woman in the German Gabert, but "The Alpha Female" didn't seem to care. Storm would throw everything she had at Gabert, and seemed to have her reeling near the end. Storm would attempt to hit Gabert on the outside a Suicide Dive through the ropes, but Gabert would show her amazing strength, catching her mid-move and hoisting her up, before tossing her head and shoulder first into the turnpost! Gabert would send Toni back into the ring, who would try to get her hands up and showed she still wanted a fight, but Gabert would run and plant a boot across her face, taking her down, before deadlifting her back up and onto her shoulder, before planting her with a Dominator, crushing her face and abdomen first into the mat! "The Alpha Female" would make the cover there, and gain an impressive victory, despite a gutsy performance from Toni Storm.
Winner by Pinfall: "The Alpha Female" Jazzy Gabert
Next out we had
Jay White, who gets on the microphone and berates PPW and the front office, saying that once again he has been overlooked for a match on a major show and he will not have it! He says he wants a fight right now against man in the back, and he will prove that he belongs in the spotlight here in PPW as the best fucking professional wrestler alive today! This brings out new PPW signee
Matt Sydal to a decent pop from the crowd. Sydal gets a microphone and says he knows all about being overlooked, as he's sat on the sidelines waiting for a call, and now that he's gotten that call and been given this opportunity, he's going to take it to the absolute limit! He says if it's a fight Jay White wants, he's going to get more than he can handle, as Matt Sydal is REBORN and ready for anything!
Singles Match
"Switchblade" Jay White vs. Matt SydalThis was the best match of the night so far, as these two had a fire lit under them and definitely had something to prove. The fans took a minute to really warm up to this, but once these guys took the fight to the outside and started laying into each other with reckless abandon, fighting into the crowd and laying it all on the line, the energy picked up and was absolutely electric by the end. Sydal would eventually see an opening late in the match to hit a Shooting Star Press to hopefully end this contest, but Jay White would get his knees up and then roll-up Sydal, but Sydal would kick out! White would try to quickly make use of his Blade Runner finisher, but Sydal broke free and delivered an Enzuigiri, and then attempted to lift White into a Gory Special, only to have White reverse with a Sunset Flip, which Sydal broke free from and delivered a dropkick to the face, followed by a big Standing Moonsault, but only for a two count! Sydal picks up White and tries to Pumphandle him, but White breaks free and delivers a back elbow, attempting to pull Sydal into the Blade Runner again, but Sydal breaks free of that and hits Poison Rana! Sydal is up and runs off the ropes, but White is up and delivers a desperation Lariat, and both men are down! They regain their footing as these fans are on their feet. Sydal tries for a Roundhouse Kick, but White ducks it and delivers a Spinning Back Chop, staggering Sydal, before taking him down into a Crucifix Pin... no, wait, White adjusts, and now he's just BLASTING Sydal with downward elbows, hitting him with the Sharp Sensations! After about ten seconds of this, the referee has seen enough and calls for the bell! Jay White has won this hard fought match in brutal fashion, but nobody can deny the skill and heart of Matt Sydal here tonight!
Winner by TKO: "Switchblade" Jay White
We cut to a pre-taped interview, where we have
Jeremy Borash standing in with
Natalya, who is about to compete in our next contest. Borash asks why Natalya felt the need to attack Kairi Sane after their recent tag team contest, and what she is hoping to prove tonight? Natalya says that she feels she is being overlooked, while the front office darling Kairi Sane is presented as some great hero for the company, and these fans just eat it up like sheep! She says she has paid her dues, and deserves to be recognized for her talents, and Kairi Sane is poor soul who has been caught in her cross hairs.
We then cut to a pre-taped promo featuring
Kairi Sane, who can be seen standing on a beach, hand cupping her brow as she surveys the horizon. Sane says that Natalya aims to steal her place in PPW, but she should know a pirate is far too familiar with these tactics, and if it's rough and tumble she wants, then that's what she will get! Sane says she will show no mercy and hold no quarter for the coward Natalya, the jealous and conniving beast she is, and she will be little more than fish food by the time Kairi Sane drops the elbow onto her! She gives a little "arrrggghhhh", and we head to the ring.
Singles Match
"The Pirate Princess" Kairi Sane vs. "The Dungeon Diva" NatalyaNatalya was very intense and completely vicious throughout this match. She would try to rip Sane's eyes out of her sockets, she would fish hook her mouth multiple times, and tried to ground and pound her through the mat! Sane would manage to rally, landing a big Spear on Natalya to get a two count, causing Natalya to retreat from the ring. Sane would dive off the top rope, though, and wipe Natalya out on the outside to cheer from the crowd! Natalya would regain some control on the outside and deliver a Snap Suplex into the guardrail to "The Pirate Princess", trying to snap her spine! Back in the ring, Natalya would get a two count with a Discus Clothesline, before attempting a Sharpshooter, but Sane would reverse it with an Inside Cradle for a two count! Nattie is livid and tackles Sane, landing multiple punches, but Sane reverses it and mounts Natalya, landing inside punches and elbows, before getting up and running off the ropes, delivering the Sliding D to a seated Natalya, but only gets a two count on the pin attempt! Sane goes to the apron and looks to deliver a Phenomenal Forearm, but much like Asuka caught her mid-move at "Destiny", Nattie managed to grab her out of mid-air and take her down with a Spinebuster, followed right into a Sharpshooter! Sane is hurting and look like she might tap out! The fans are chanting, "KAI-RI! KAI-RI!" as she tries to fight towards the ropes, but Kairi actually manages to roll to her side and grab Nattie's leg, and show her technical prowess is countering the hold, causing Natalya to fall to the mat! Both women scramble up to their feet, and they are trading blows, back and forth, until Natalya ducks and hoists up Sane from behind and plants her with a Reverse Powerbomb! Natalya goes for the cover, hooking the leg deep, but Sane still kicks out! Nattie gets to her feet, pulling at her hair and telling the fans to shut up! She grabs the referee by the collar, but he pushes back and tells her to back off! Sane manages to grab Nattie from behind and pull her down with a School Girl, only for a two count, but Sane transitions it into her Ikari (Cross Leg Boston Crab) submission! Sane bridges deep, but Nattie manages to power her way out, rolling around, and the hold is released. Back up to their feet, Natalya once again tries for the Discus Lariat, but Sane ducks it, kicking her in the mid-section and then to the back with an Axe Kick that sends Nattie stumbling into the corner. Kairi rushes into the corner, delivering a Spear to the abdomen, before running to the opposite corner and then back again with a Forearm Smash to the now seated Nattie in the corner! Nattie rolls from the corner as Sane heads up to the top rope. Natalya shows her grit, though, and is back up and she manages to dive towards the buckles and grabs Kairi by the leg, stopping her from leaping from the top. Kairi rains down on her with fists, but Nattie answers back with a big slap that wobbles Sane up top. Nattie heads up top and grabs her, underhooking her arms and proceeds to deliver a BUTTERFLY SUPERPLEX! SANE HIT HARD! Nattie goes for the cover again, but Sane still kicks out! Nattie, looking winded and in a lot of pain, desperately grabs Sane's legs and goes looking for the Sharpshooter again, but Sane grabs her by the head and begins to blast her with forearms, causing Nattie to stagger away. Sane gets to her feet and kicks Nattie, grabbing her, but Nattie reverses quickly and tries to pull Sane over with a Belly-to-Back Suplex, but Sane reverses it, landing on her feet and blasting her with an elbow to the back of the head! Sane grabs Nattie and bends her over, proceeding to deliver a Spinning Headlock Elbowdrop, taking Natalya down in the center of the ring! Sane rolls towards the buckles and heads up top. Nattie stirs on the mat, but she doesn't seem to have the ability to pull herself back up. And she doesn't have time to, as Sane swings her arms in preparation and then flies off the top, crashing down on Nattie below with the InSane Elbowdrop, and it's all over! One, two, three, as the fans chant out, and what a match! Mama Mia, these two ladies left it all in the ring!
Winner by Pinfall: "The Pirate Princess" Kairi Sane
We see a highlight video building up the following match, as we see the history between Adam Page and WALTER, from Page slamming WALTER off the stage and through a table in Indonesia, and WALTER delivering an Austrian Death Driver onto a chair in Perth. We go to the commentary team, who are ready to call this next fight.
No Disqualification Match
"Hangman" Adam Page vs. "The Ring General" WALTER w/ Stokely HathawayPage would come out hot against WALTER, trying to catch him off guard with big shots to the head early to take him out of the ring. Stokely would get involved or try to get involved multiple times, as these two fought all over the crowd and ringside area, using whatever wasn't nailed down to inflict punishment on one another. Page would try to Powerslam WALTER on the floor at one point, but WALTER would actually take the move on his forehead in a very grisly and cringy spot. WALTER would show his toughness, battling back with a big knot growing on his head, and would punish "Hangman" severely with chops and kicks, until these two made it back into the ring. Page would manage to catch WALTER with a boot in the corner, followed by a chairshot from the second turnbuckle to take him down. Stokely would get into the ring with a chair and try to attack Page from behind, but "Hangman" would turn and see him coming, and stop him, grabbing him as Stokely begged for mercy and the crowd went ravenous. Page would grab up Stokely and pick him up into position, drilling him in the middle of the ring with the Rite of Passage as the fans cheered him on! Page would get hit with a Lariat from WALTER, however, and it seemed WALTER would get the win, as he picked up Page, looking for the Austrian Death Driver, but Page would escape and catch WALTER with a German Suplex, followed by a Piledriver onto a chair! Page would make the cover, but WALTER would kick out, "The Ring General" showing inhuman tolerance for punishment! Page would go to the outside and bring in a table, setting it up in the ring. Page would try to lay WALTER across the table, but WALTER would fight back, chopping Page repeatedly before kicking him across the face and then grabbing him, getting him into position... and then delivering a POWERBOMB TO THE OUTSIDE OF THE RING, TRYING TO KILL "HANGMAN"! Page looked to be in a bad way, as WALTER rolled him into the ring and proceeded to pull Page to the buckles. WALTER would scale the ropes and then grab "Hangman" by the head and pull him up the front of buckles. Page would fight back, blasting WALTER blazing fists, before grabbing him and trying to pull the mammoth Austrian over, but "The Ring General" would fight back, slapping Page across the face and then headbutting him! Page is out on his feet, and WALTER gets him into position, hoisting him up... SUPER POWERBOMB THROUGH THE TABLE! PAGE HAS BEEN OBLITERATED! WALTER manages to toss away the debris and makes an exhausted cover of "Hangman", earning him the three count to end what was truly a war.
Winner by Pinfall: "The Ring General" WALTERStokely Hathaway gets on the microphone afterwards, celebrating WALTER's win and saying he is truly the unstoppable force here in PPW! He says that it's been coming now for some time, but now, WALTER has proven he is the man who should be the World Heavyweight champion! He says Jay White is complaining about not getting big matches on the big cards, but he says Jay White has something they want, and that's a World Heavyweight title shot when PPW goes to New Zealand! Stokely says that WALTER challenges Jay White next week in Melbourne, and if WALTER wins, he wants that title shot! This brings out
"Switchblade" Jay White, to cheers from the crowd. Jay White takes a microphone and says that it has been a long time coming, and if he wants any respect around here, he knows what he has to do... and that's KILL WALTER! He says he WILL put up his title shot, he WILL get his respect, and he WILL end WALTER in Melbourne on the way to becoming the World Heavyweight champion!
Mauro Ranallo can't believe what he just heard on commentary is selling it big time, as Nigel McGuinness says that might be the biggest mistake of Jay White's career. He says Jay White has all of the upside in the world, but after what we just saw WALTER do to Adam Page, it's hard to bet against "The Ring General". Mauro says that you have to hand it to Stokely, he really has put WALTER into a pretty good position here to get ahead, despite him being a generally sleazy human being.
We take a look back at the history between these two, showing Mia Yim seemingly saving Shirai from an attack from Ruby Riott at "Destiny", only to attack her herself! We go backstage, where we see
Io Shirai standing in. Shirai says that Mia Yim has tried to take a short cut to glory, but she will be cut down short of her goals, as Io Shirai continues her quest for greatness in PPW!
We then cut to a pre-taped interview, where
Mia Yim is standing in with
Jeremy Borash. Jeremy asks Mia how she is feeling about her match tonight with Io Shirai, which Mia proceeds to answer Borash by saying it's a stupid question. She says she feels great, as she always does when stepping in that ring, because she owns that ring every single night. She owns the ring, she owns the crowd, and most of all, "The Head Bitch in Charge" is going to prove she owns Io Shirai and the rest of this women's division! She says she should be getting that shot at Mayu's belt tonight, not that poseur Riott, but she has no problem taking apart Io tonight to prove her point. She says Io insists she something great, but she hasn't done anything to prove it. She says tonight Io thinks it's her moment to get to the top and earn her shot, but the only shot coming to her is the one that puts her down at the hands of Mia Yim.
We head to the ring for this next contest.

We get a pre-taped promo from

He says he's had a dust up or two with that tosser Juice Robinson now, and he knows all he needs to know about him. He says he looks down here and sees a great fall below, and that's what pride will get you, mate, according to him, a great, big fall and a bitter end. He says Juice Robinson thinks he is God's gift, but he says tonight, the devil takes his pound for flesh, as Pete Dunne breaks Juice's bloody fingers, contorts his body, takes the piss out him with blow after blow, and makes him realize he should have never thought he had a chance against "The Bruiserweight".

He says Australia, you're welcome, and let the fun begin!

We then see the string of wins that Mayu Iwatani has put together, winning the title over Hiroyo Matsumoto, defending it against Natalya, winning a six woman tag team match recently in Indonesia. We head to the announcer's table, where Mauro says these two have no love loss and are ready to bring a fight to these fans here in Brisbane, and those watching all around world, as "Downfall" continues with the International Women's championship match! Nigel says the key for Ruby Riott here is to not let Mayu get momentum and start hitting big maneuvers, while Mayu needs to avoid getting grounded and getting the snot kicked out of her. We head to the ring, and get ready for action!
PPW International Women's Title
Singles Match
Mayu Iwatani (c) vs. Ruby RiottThis contest was a very quick jaunt that lasted less than 10 minutes, as these two didn't waste any time dropping bombs on one another and getting busy. There was no feeling out process, as Mayu went straight after Ruby, trying to get revenge over the attack that happened in Indonesia. Mayu would land big kicks, trying to take Ruby's head off. Ruby was trying for takedowns, but Mayu would stuff them and reverse her attempts. Ruby would manage to land some big forearms to the head and kicks to the leg and body before getting backed up into the buckles. Mayu would land a flurry of kicks to her arm and ribs before grabbing her out and delivering a Northern Lights Suplex transitioned into a Standing Double Stomp, which Mayu tried to cover after, but only earned a two count. Mayu would whip Ruby off the ropes, looking for the Sky High perhaps but got overzealous and Ruby caught her with a kick, followed by a Superkick and then an Enzuigiri in quick succession. Riott would proceed to hit a Back Senton and go for the cover, but just a two, but then she's mounting and blasting Mayu with repeated punches! Mayu is stunned and Riott runs off the ropes, attempting a Lariat, but Mayu catches her and delivers a lightning speed German Suplex! She's not done, though, as she hangs on, lifting Riott back up and trying for a Dragon Suplex, but Riott breaks free again, only to have Mayu grab her by the head and pull her over with a SLEEPER SUPLEX! Mayu is back up and Riott is on her knees, her eyes practically crossed, and Mayu rushes in with a BOMA YE KNEESTRIKE! Mayu sits on Riott's chest and hooks the leg hard! ONE, TWO, THREE! SHE'S DONE IT! MAYU RETAINS!
Winner by Pinfall, and STILL PPW International Women's Champion: Mayu Iwatani
We get a vignette for each of the six men here vying for a shot at the MUW World Heavyweight championship in Melbourne next month at "Era of Excellence". First, we have
Drew Gulak, who says he is the last true throwback, a renaissance man, and his story and rise to greatness takes a huge leap tonight, as he stretches and chokes his way to victory! We then see
Andrade "Cien" Almas standing with
Zelina Vega, who says he will prove that he is the new idol of professional wrestling, an icon worth worshipping, and he deserves the Heavyweight title! We then get
Buddy Murphy, who says he's gone from invisible to unstoppable since coming to PPW, and his path of destruction doesn't end here, because he wants that big gold and that recognition, and to go from unknown to world renowned... and if that means he has to go through five other men to do it, then it's their unlucky day, because after tonight, everybody is going to know his name! We then go to
"The Golden Star" Kota Ibushi, who says he has come up short lately, but he just can't stop. He won't stop until he has championship gold. After all, what is the "Golden Star" if he can't achieve championship success? He says he won't allow himself to fail tonight. Next up,
Zack Sabre, Jr. is doing some squats and talking about stamina, and says tonight he's ready to go the extra mile to make sure it'll be his name on the marquee come Melbourne! Lastly, we see
"Reckless Genius" Tetsuya Naito laying back on a lounge chair on the beach, wearing sunglasses and looking confident. Naito says he is the International champion for a reason, and that's because when the time comes, he gets the job done... so he's just going to relax and let this all play out, because in the end, the best man is going to win. He raises his glasses and does the tranquillo taunt with his eyeball, and then we head back to the announcer's table, as we prepare for the main event!
#1 Contender to the MUW World Heavyweight Title
Six Man Elimination Match
Andrade "Cien" Almas vs. Buddy Murphy vs. Drew Gulak vs. "The Golden Star" Kota Ibushi vs. "Reckless Genius" Tetsuya Naito vs. Zack Sabre Jr.All men start in the ring, as we have no tags or anything like that going on here. This is chaos, and it's for a chance at the richest prize in all of professional wrestling. The match starts off with Almas and Gulak going after Naito and taking him out of the ring, knowing that the International champion may be the greatest threat to either of them ending this match with their hand raised in victory. We see some great back and forth inside of the ring from Ibushi, Murphy, and ZSJ, who all are very quick and multi-skilled, but after a minute or so, Ibushi ended up getting whipped towards the buckles, leading him to rush up the buckles and fly to the outside, wiping out Gulak, Andrade, and Naito on the outside with a Corkscrew Plancha! Still in the ring, Murphy and Sabre are exchanging holds, with Sabre grabbing Murphy's arm and trying to lock him into a Cross Armbar. Murphy manages to show his brute strength, lifting Sabre high and delivering a Revolution Bomb! Sabre kicks out, but Murphy grabs his arms and delivers a knee to the face! Murphy tries for another pin, but Sabre kicks out, only to lock Murphy into a Kimura Hold as he does, turning the tides quickly! Murphy lifts him again as Sabre holds him in a Body Scissors! Andrade is back into the ring and grabs Murphy, drilling him to the mat with a DDT as Sabre holds him into the Kimura, delivering a sort of La Sombra! ZSJ attempts to deliver a Penalty Kick to Andrade, but Andrade dodges it and is back to his feet. Andrade runs off the ropes and delivers a Headscissors to Sabre, taking him out of the ring, only to have Naito fly in and catch him with a Missile Dropkick that sends him out of the ring! Ibushi is back in and catches Naito with a Lariat that flips him inside out. Buddy Murphy is back and delivers a Bicycle Knee Strike to Ibushi, followed by a Canadian Rack lift into a DDT! Murphy attempts to cover, but only a two count! Nigel notes that Murphy has been tenacious in trying to get pinfalls so far, more so than his opponents. Drew Gulak has picked his spot and is back in, rolling up Naito, but only getting a two count! Sabre is back in and grabs Gulak from behind, looking for a Tiger Suplex, but Gulak stomps on his foot and rolls around him, lifting and taking him over with an Inverted Northern Lights Suplex! Kota Ibushi comes off the top rope with a 450 Splash, smashing Sabre into the mat further and makes the pinfall, getting the three count!
Zack Sabre, Jr. has been eliminated.Sabre is pulled from the ring, but the melee continues. Murphy rushes and blasts Ibushi with a front dropkick, sending him into the buckles. Andrade catches Gulak with a quick spinning back elbow, knocking him loopy, leading Andrade to run off the ropes, only to get caught from the opposite side by an on coming Naito, who catches Andrade and slams him down with Destino out of nowhere! Naito hooks the leg and the International champion manages to pin Andrade for the one, two, three, eliminating him from the contest!
Andrade "Cien" Almas has been eliminated.Gulak immediately begins to lay the boots to Naito as they remove Andrade from the ring. Gulak whips Naito and tries to catch him with a Sleeper, but Naito reverses it and hammerlocks his arm back, taking him down with Gloria! Naito goes for the pinfall, but only a two count! Meanwhile, on the outside, Murphy and Ibushi are laying into each other with big strikes, with Ibushi catching Murphy with a back kick from the apron, sending him into the announcer's table, followed by an Asai Moonsault! Naito delivers a Slingshot Corner Dropkick to Gulak on the inside, followed by his Evolucion in the center of the ring, but Gulak still manages to kick out, showing his desire and toughness on this, as grand a stage as he's ever been on. Ibushi makes it back into the ring and he lays into Naito with kicks and open hand strikes. Ibushi runs off the ropes, but Naito is quickly running behind him, coming off the ropes half a second after him and smashing him with Flying Forearm! Buddy Murphy is back up and springboards himself in, catching Naito with a Blockbuster to take him down! Gulak rushes Murphy, delivering headbutt to his sternum and then delivering a Snap Suplex into the Turnbuckles! Kota Ibushi delivers a Dropsault to Gulak, sending him out of the ring and delivering a Standing Moonsault to the back of Naito simultaneously! Murphy stumbles up and Ibushi rushes up and jumps, catching him with a Poison Rana, making Murphy pretty much do a Moonsault to Naito's back, further driving the International champion down! With that, Ibushi runs around Naito and leaps up with no hands, springboarding off the top rope and delivering an AMAZING PHOENIX SPLASH VARIATION, CRUSHING BUDDY MURPHY! Ibushi hooks the leg hard, and everybody counts as Murphy loses here in front of his home country's crowd! One, two, three, Murphy has been eliminated and we are down to Naito, Ibushi, and Gulak!
Buddy Murphy has been eliminated.Ibushi goes and grabs Naito, trying to whip him, but Gulak grabs Naito's leg from the outside, stopping this from happening. Ibushi sees this and the "Golden Star" blasts Naito with a kick before grabbing the top rope and flying out onto Gulak with a Corkscrew Pescado! Naito sees these two down on the floor and the "Reckless Genius" decides to go ahead and do his worst, running off the ropes and leaping, twisting and flying to the outside a Corkscrew Flipping Suicida, taking Gulak and Ibushi out and spilling things onto the ramp! All three men get back up and Naito tries to rush Gulak, but Gulak delivers a Back Drop, sending Naito back first into the apron!
Ibushi catches Gulak with a kick across the chest, and then proceeds to grab him and deliver a THREE QUARTER NELSON SUPLEX ONTO THE RAMP, making everyone stand and cheer, as it looks like Gulak might be dead after that one! Naito crawls up the ringsteps and rolls back into the ring. "The Golden Star" gets on the apron and measures up Naito. Ibushi then springboards, but Naito catches him with a Rolling Wheel Kick, nailing Ibushi in the chest mid-move! Both men are down, as the fans cheer and chant both of their names. These two just had a war at "Destiny" for the International title and know each other all too well, and this match is about perhaps even more than that. Neither wants to flinch. They battle from their knees, slapping each other back and forth, before getting back to their feet. Ibushi unloads a kick, and Naito answers back with a chop. Ibushi grabs his head and blasts him with multiple punches before winding back and trying for a Lariat, but Naito ducks it and delivers a Basement Dropkick! Naito then runs off the ropes and hits a Somersault Senton to the back of Ibushi, smashing him now face first into the mat. Naito calls for Destino, motioning to the crowd and giving them the tranqullio taunt. Ibushi slowly makes his way to his feet and Naito rushes in, looking to hit it, but Ibushi blocks it and tries for another Lariat, but Naito ducks it and grabs him, delivering a Release Dragon Suplex! Ibushi lands on his head and is up to his feet, wobbling and staggering and Naito is back up and rushes him... DESTINOOOOOO!!! Naito makes the pin attempt. Drew Gulak rolls in the ring behind him. catches Naito with a series of back and forth cross face punches, and then he cinches it in... BEAST CHOKER! THE GU-LOCK IS ON! GULAK HAS FULL EXTENSION ON IT! Naito has nowhere to go, desperately reaching for anything, trying to get to the ropes, but he can't. He can't go anywhere, as Gulak screams out, choking the very life from his body! Naito's arm goes limp and the referee calls it and dives in, breaking up the hold! DREW GULAK HAS CHOKED OUT TETSUYA NAITO!
Tetsuya Naito has been eliminated.Nobody can believe it, the crowd is going crazy and the commentary team is near speechless.
Winner, and #1 Contender to the MUW World Heavyweight Title: Drew GulakDrew Gulak has broken down emotionally in the ring, as his hand is being raised. This is by far the biggest moment of his career thus far. Naito is brought back and is trying to fight the refs and officials, as he doesn't know where he is or what is going on. Once he is back to his senses and he is informed what happened, he gets up and limps over to Gulak, giving him a short embrace before raising his hand, and then bowing.
Drew Gulak, panting and sweating, his eyebrow busted and looking determined and full of adrenaline, takes the microphone, "Brisbane, this is the greatest night of the my life, and I am honored you all could share it with me, but my story STILL isn't done..." he takes a breath, "because I'M GOING TO MELBOURNE, AND AT 'ERA OF EXCELLENCE'"... another breath... "I'M WINNING THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE!" Drew Gulak throws down the microphone and drops to his knees before rolling to the outside and slapping everyone's hands around the ring, and Nigel says the grappler from Philadelphia is living a real life "Rocky" dream come true here, as he gets the chance of a life time to become the World Heavyweight champion.
And with that, the show comes to an end.
