We start at the announcer's table, where we get a run down of the action and what's going down quickly before jumping right into the first match of the evening.
Koji Kanemoto defeats Shuji Kondo and Great Sasuke in a wild three way match that ends after Kanemoto hits a Tiger Suplex on Sasuke for the three count. This match saw all kinds of interference, and the questions were answered about Kanemoto's masked partners who had been interfering on his behalf the last few weeks. With Hayabusa and Jinsei Shinzaki out to help him, and Masaaki Mochizuki and CIMA out to help Kondo, the numbers were on the side of Kanemoto, who had three masked men there to overtake his opponents, leading one of them to enter the ring and deliver an STO to Sasuke. Kanemoto would manage to deliver the Tiger Suplex after that, and it was all over! Kanemoto stole one!
After the match, the masked men enter the ring and began taking off their masks... MINORU TANAKA... MINORU SUZUKI... AND MASAHIRO CHONO!! This is an absolutely huge revelation, as Kanemoto would take the microphone and announce that The Underworld has arrived to take ISPW down to the depths of despair! He would then had the microphone over to the "Under Lord", Masahiro Chono! Chono would go on to say that he has seen many dark days in this business, but none darker than what is to come. He says ISPW will fall and become nothing than a vehicle for The Underworld's dominance over the wrestling world as a whole. He says ISPW has suffered the affliction that has been Crazy MAX for as long as it's doors have been opened and could not deal with that. In it's weakened state, a truly malignant force has risen and they care not for anyone or anything but themselves, and everyone will pay. With his "Dark Messiah"... with his "Minister of Doom"... with his "Murderous Scourge"... "The Lord of the Underworld" will bring ISPW, and the world of wrestling as a whole, to its knees.
"Ace of Spades" hits, and out comes ATSUSHI ONITA, COMMISSIONER OF ISPW AND HE'S CARRYING A BASEBALL BAT WRAPPED IN BARBED WIRE! Onita stops on the middle of the ramp, and he points the bat towards the ring. Onita says that he has seen enough of this shit for a life time, and he's tired of hearing Chono drone on about a bunch of bullshit! He says these fans paid to see some fighting, and that's what they're going to get! Big pop for that. Onita says no more outside interference crap, or people are going to be getting fired, on the spot, zero tolerance, not just for this show, but for every single supershow from here on out. He wants untainted finishes on the big shows, where the money is made, and he's not going to have that messed up by anybody, or he'll make sure The Underworld, Crazy MAX, whoever the fuck else, will never wrestle in an ISPW ring again!
Chono kind of smiles now, and says it amuses him that Onita feels so powerful. He says that he and his group were brought in because they are the truly most powerful force in professional wrestling, and the higher ups at ISPW headquarters like to play with fire. They think they can contain The Underworld, just like Onita thinks he can carry a big stick and threaten everyone into submission. Chono says any one of them could win any fight they wanted fighting fair, and if that's what he wants, he'll be sadly disappointed when nothing changes and they are still on top here in ISPW. Onita answers back saying he couldn't give a damn less what they do, as long as they do whatever the Hell he tells them to, and if they get in his way... THEY'RE GONNA PAY!
"Ace of Spades" hits again as Onita takes a few swings with his bat and motions for anyone in the ring to try him as we head back to ringside.
Yuji Shindo, MEN's Teioh, and Toshie Uematsu all weigh in on these massive debuts for ISPW, and Onita's decision to bring a zero tolerance policy into effect for supershows. Teioh says he thinks the boss is awesome, and admires how he stood up to The Underworld. Uematsu says Onita has more balls than brains, and she feels like his hot temper is going to lead to somebody getting hurt in the not too distant future if things don't go his way.
Kyoko Inoue defeats Dynamite Kansai after delivering the Victoria Driver to get the win. These two had a score to settle, as they've been at each other for about a month and something had to give. This was a hard hitting match, which Kansai showed Inoue no respect in and no mercy, endearing Inoue to this crowd as they tried to cheer her on. Kansai looked like she might win the match with her Splash Mountain finisher, but Inoue managed to kick out. Kansai would try for her Die Hard Kansai, which is a Splash Mountain off the top rope, but Inoue would break free and hit a Flying Lariat from the top, which earned her a close two count. Kansai and Inoue would trade some back and forth strikes that sent shutters through the crowd, ending in Inoue blocking a high kick from Kansai and hitting a Lariat to nearly take her head off! From there, Inoue would get her up and put her down with her feared Victoria Driver, and it was all over! Inoue gets the pinfall victory!
We go backstage, where Mio Shirai is standing in with MUW World Heavyweight champion, SETH ROLLINS! Shirai asks the champion how he is feeling going into his match tonight with Katsuyori Shibata. Rollins says that Shibata is a tough talker, but he's out of his league tonight, plain and simple. He says that he came to tear down the house tonight for these fans and show them what the best wrestling in the world looks like. He says Shibata should consider himself lucky for the opportunity, and he wishes him the best of luck, but he's getting burned down like everybody else in the path of Seth Rollins.
Sumie Sakai, Hiroyo Matsumoto, Sonoko Kato, and Meiko Satomura defeat Ayumi Kurihara, Io Shirai, Mayu Iwatani, and Momo Watanabe after Matsumoto pins Shirai with a Revolution Bomb. This match was as chaotic as you would hope for, with order breaking down after the ten minute mark and we got a solid six to seven minutes of back and forth melee from both teams. After Sakai hit a dive tot he outside, Iwatani would hit a dive to the outside, followed by a dive from Kato. Shirai was looking to hit perhaps the most impressive dive onto the pile, only to get caught up top by Matsumoto, who pulled her down and delivered the Rotating Powerbomb to get the three count and the win for her team! Matsumoto would stomp and spit on Shirai after the fact, causing Shirai's teammates to run in and run off the villainess, but the damage was already done.
We go backstage, where Katsuyori Shibata has overturned a television and destroyed some other objects in what looks to be a fit of rage. Officials, as well as Commissioner Onita, approach the situation carefully. Onita speaks sternly and forcefully, keeping a distance, but tells Shibata to stop with all of this. Shibata says that he is done being looked down on as a joke! He says Seth Rollins has the audacity to come to his home and tell him that he is out of his league! Shibata says he has helped build this place, and has beaten every one put against him. He has proven time and again that he is one of the best, if not THE BEST, fighting in that ring today. He says Rollins and everyone else in the MUW Universe are counting him out because... why? He doesn't have the biggest name, he didn't sell out? Shibata says he's a hell of a lot better wrestler than Braun Strowman, even if he can't flip a car... he says he can go down the list and pick out the flaws of every man who has ever held that title, including Seth Rollins. Shibata says they already have Hiroshi Tanahashi wrestling on this show, they don't need the cheap knock off that is Seth Rollins here doing his gimmick but worse, stealing the Sling Blade, Frog Splash, Dragon Rocket, etc., and yet he comes here and dishonors Shibata... acting like they are having an exhibition match. Acting like he's doing a publicity tour. And Shibata says he is pissed off, and he is going to make Seth Rollins pay... by taking his title, and showing the world what true wrestling is all about. He says tonight, Seth fuckin' Rollins is going to get fuckin' humbled.
Hiroshi Tanahashi defeats Toshiaki Kawada by way of disqualification. Tanahashi would come at Kawada hot out of the gate, trying to take him down and out wrestle him, but Kawada would show his mat wrestling skills and managed to go hold for hold with Tanahashi to keep himself in the match. Tanahashi was enraged by the antics of Kawada leading up to this match, and it seemed like he was trying to punish Kawada and teach him a lesson, pushing the pace and showing a lot of fire after the opening exchanges, but Kawada seemed cool and collected and wanted to do some punishing of his own of the "Ace of the Universe". Tanahashi would manage to send Kawada to the outside after a dropkick and flew out onto him with the Dragon Rocket, followed by a barrage of punches. Tanahashi would go looking for a Dragon Suplex on the outside, only to get caught with a Mule Kick low by Kawada, followed by Kawada sending him into the ringpost, hard. Kawada would sit Tanahashi in a chair on the outside and send a thunderous shoot kick into his sternum, before running and delivering a high kick to his head, sending him into the crowd. Kawada would pull him back over the railing and hit an Axe Kick to bring him back over the railing and send him back into the ring. Kawada would lock on a Half Crab and stomp Tanahashi to the head, forcing him to crawl and get to the ropes to get the break. Kawada would try for another kick, but Tanahashi would reverse with a Dragon Screw, followed by a Dropkick, and then he would deliver the Sling Blade he invented, taking Kawada down for a two count! Tanahashi would grab Kawada's legs, looking for the Texas Cloverleaf, but Kawada reversed it and pulled him down and over into a mounted strikes! Punches, open hand shots, headbutts, knees, Tanahashi was in big trouble! Tanahashi would fire back with fists and turn it over, mounting Kawada himself! Tanahashi would take over Kawada's back and lift him up, delivering a Dead Lift German Suplex for a two count! Tanahashi would then hit another Sling Blade, and then head to the top rope. Tanahashi came off looking for the High Fly Flow, but Kawada got his knees up! Both men are down as Tanahashi holds his ribs in agony. Both men get up, and Tanahashi rushes in and blasts Kawada with forearms strikes, before hitting him back and forth with open hand shots, which Kawada would try to block, before answering back with a couple of open hand shots of his own, followed by a shoot kick to the right side of the midsection of Tanahashi. Tanahashi fights for another second or two, before doubling over and clutching his abdomen... MEN's Teioh yells out that it must have been a liver kick from Kawada, and Tanahashi's body is shut down! Kawada is quick to jump and drop a knee to the back of Tanahashi's head, before mounting his back and locking him into a Rear Naked Choke! Tanahashi is trying to fight it off and his trying to roll on the mat! Shindo is calling it, saying it's not looking good and that liver shot may have did him in. Tanahashi clutches his fists, feeding on the crowd, before pulling at Kawada's arms more, trying to get a gasp of air, and then digging in his heels and pulling himself up... he's got all over Kawada's 240 or so pounds on his back, and he's going for the ropes... and he desperately gets them, trying to cling on, but he can't, as Kawada pulls him back, but wait! His feet arm still in the ropes and he has them wrapped around the bottom rope, trying not to let go! The referee is counting to five, but Kawada is incensed and doesn't seem to care! His eyes are wide and his toothless mouth is wide open, yelling out as he tries to squeeze the life from Tanahashi! The referee calls for the bell before trying to break the hold! This match is over, Toshiaki Kawada has been disqualified and Tanahashi's body is going completely lifeless!
Officials rush down to the ring, and the commentary team all stand up, not sure what to do as Kawada seems to be trying to kill Tanahashi. Kawada finally lets go, and shoves everybody back, soaking in the boos as he walks to the back, flipping off the crowd and telling them they can all go to Hell! We head back to the commentary team, where they can't believe the outcome of that match, and hope that Tanahashi won't suffer any permanent damage from Kawada's actions tonight.
#1 Contendership to the MUW World Women's Championship - Best of 3 Falls: Manami Toyota defeats Yoshiko Tamura in a a truly classic match. Tamura has been one of the most hated yet effective women in ISPW thus far, and these fans find her despicable. Her and Toyota have traded wins in tag team bouts, but it was time to see who was really at the top of the class here in women's wrestling for ISPW. Tamura would start off attacking the neck of Toyota in a truly ruthless tactic, sending her to the outside of the ring and delivering a DDT on the floor, followed by a Piledriver in an attempt to knock out Toyota for a count out in the first fall, and maybe take her out of the match entirely. Toyota would fight her way back up before the 20 count from the referee, and fight back against Tamura, landing dropkicks, followed by a Bridging German Suplex for a two count. Toyota would manage to kick out of a Rolling Elbow from Tamura, as well as a Bridging Double Wrist Suplex. Toyota would catch Tamura with a Missile Dropkick, followed by another Missile Dropkick, sending "The Boss Bitch" to the outside in retreat, only to have Toyota deliver a Front Flip Suicide Dive to wipe her out and get the fans going! Back in the ring, Toyota would try for her Rolling Octopus Pin, but Tamura would kick out. Tamura would catch Toyota in the corner with a Sunset Flip, only to have Toyota roll through it and flip over it, holding Tamura down for the three count! There is a thirty second break between falls, and the commentary team feels like Tamura is going to come into this next fall with a lot of fire and they are right. Tamura goes low and takes out Toyota's leg, before attacking her neck even further. Tamura chokes Toyota against the ropes and sends her to the apron. Toyota tries to fight back, delivering a high boot to Tamura's face, but Tamura smashes her with multiple elbows, followed by a DDT onto the ring apron! Tamura would then grab Toyota and deliver a Full Nelson Slam into the guardrail, driving her neck first into the steel! From there, Tamura sends Toyota back into the ring and grabs her, looking for what appears to be Double Wrist Suplex, only to sit out and drive Toyota down right on the back of her head with a sick head drop maneuver! Tamura covers, hooking the leg and she gets the second fall! Toyota looks like she might be too out of it to continue, as Tamura looks winded but evil in the corner, sneering at her opponent. The thirty seconds is up, and Toyota is barely hanging on in the corner. Tamura rushes in and smashes her with an Elbow Strike, and pulls her out, hitting a Bridging German Suplex and looking for the win, but Toyota manages to kick out, screaming and holding her neck in agony. Tamura is slow to get up and shows Toyota no respect as she tries to pick her self up, facewashing her nonchalantly, before slapping her across the face. Toyota is angered and finds some energy reserves to pop up and blast Tamura with a series of inside forearms before running off of the ropes. Toyota goes for a dropkick, but Tamura sidesteps it and shoves her down, diving down to grab her, but Toyota gets to a seated position and elbows Tamura backwards in the face, switching the waistlock and lifting Tamura off of the mat. Tamura tries to fight it, leading Toyota to clutch both of her wrists and take her over with the Japanese Ocean Suplex, but Tamura manages to kick out at two! Toyota pounds the mat in frustration, and the fans are cheering her on. Toyota lifts up Tamura and tries to pull her up onto her shoulders for the Japanese Ocean CYCLONE Suplex, but Toyota buckles and Tamura drops down, as she holds her neck in pain. Tamura runs off the ropes and hits a Rolling Elbow to the back of Toyota's head, trying to pin her down afterwards, but Toyota bridges out somehow, showing her strength and courage through the pain! Tamura can't believe it, arguing with the referee before heading to the turnbuckles. She sizes Toyota up, stalking her prey as Toyota pulls herself up on the ropes. Tamura rushes again, trying for yet another Rolling Elbow, but Toyota ducks it and catches her with a Big Boot to the face, and Tamura's stunned! Toyota elbows her to the back of the head and then gets her into position again, lifting her up on her shoulders and yelling out, fighting through the pain now, and she delivers the OCEAN CYCLONE SUPLEX! ONE, TWO, THRE-NO!!! TAMURA KICKS OUT SOMEHOW! Toyota can't believe this, and both ladies lay on the mat, exhausted as the fans are on their feet cheering them on. Both ladies pull themselves up to a knee, and they continue fighting, throwing open hand strikes back and forth. Toyota gets to her feet and kicks Tamura to the chest. She grabs Tamura by the head and spins her around, grabbing her by the waist, but Tamura sends an elbow backwards before dropping and pulling Toyota into a pin attempt, but Toyota kicks out at two. Both women are back up pretty quickly and Tamura is quick to lay into Toyota with an Elbow Strike, but Toyota fires back with a kick to the face, and then grabs Tamura and grabs her by the arm and pulls it across her body, grabbing her other arm between her legs, and DRIVES HER TO THE MAT ON THE BACK OF HER HEAD WITH SOME KIND OF MODIFIED FISHERMAN'S BUSTER! Toyota sits on her chest, raising her arm and the referee makes the count as the fans cheer and she gets the three!
It takes a little over a minute, but Tamura rolls out of the ring in defeat after that exhausting loss as Toyota stands on the ropes, the adrenaline running through her as she now has a date with Charlotte Flair, challenging for the MUW World Women's Championship, and nobody can say she didn't absolutely earn it tonight!
ISPW International Championship: CIMA defeats Munenori Sawa to become the first ever International champion. Sawa had the fans solidly behind him throughout the match, but much like his match at "Indestructible", CIMA was able to earn some respect from both Sawa and the crowd tonight for his skills and ability, as Crazy MAX and all other outside interference was barred from ringside. CIMA would try to get into Sawa's mind early, stopping and stalling, mocking him and taunting the fans, but Sawa would eventually catch up to CIMA and get this match going. Sawa would punish CIMA on the mat with his BattlARTS style, smothering him and causing him to go to the ropes multiple times as Sawa pounded his head and ribs with open hand shots, before laying into him with a series of kicks. Sawa would lock on a Figure Four, and CIMA would try to reverse by rolling, but Sawa would overroll it to reverse the reversal and cause CIMA to get to the ropes to break it. CIMA would go to the outside in retreat, and Sawa would wait patiently on the inside, trying not to make a mistake. Back in the ring, CIMA would get going and actually mount some offense, delivering a Running Double Knee in the corner, followed by putting Sawa on the top turnbuckle. CIMA would land his Venus palm strike, followed by the Iconoclast, but Sawa would manage to kick out. CIMA would try for a Superkick, but Sawa would catch it and take him down, locking him up into a leg grapevine that caused CIMA to go to the ropes once more. Sawa would pull from the crowd as CIMA was hobbled, feeding on their energy before rushing CIMA and delivering a high impact dropkick in the corner! Sawa would would deliver a Fisherman's Suplex afterwards, but just a two count! Sawa is trying to call for the end, and goes for his Wind Up Punch, but CIMA sidesteps it and hits an Enzuigiri, followed by an Arm-trap Roll-up, showing his technical skills, but only a two count! Both men get up to the mat, but CIMA hits an armdrag and rolls up Sawa again with a very slick pinning combination, but Sawa still gets out! CIMA rushes back up and grabs Sawa by the back, but Sawa slips out and down to the mat, sending kick up into the face of CIMA! Sawa is back up and delivers a Corkscrew Roundhouse Kick, taking CIMA down, but only gets a two count on the pin attempt! Sawa is calling for the end again, and tries to lock up CIMA on the mat with an Octopus Hold, but CIMA breaks free and delivers a Superkick to Sawa, sending him falling backwards into the buckles. Sawa is sitting against the bottom buckle, and CIMA rushes in and delivers a Double Knee Strike, smashing SAWA into the buckle! CIMA heads up top as Sawa tries to regain his footing. CIMA is looking for the Meteora he used on Kanemoto to get into this match, but Sawa rolls and ducks it, as CIMA rolls and stop himself from crashing and burning. CIMA runs at Sawa and Sawa tries for a high roundhouse kick, but CIMA ducks it and keeps running, leaping and springboarding off of the middle turnbuckle. CIMA spins as Sawa has turned and is looking at him, and CIMA catches him with a Codebreaker! Flying Codebreaker from CIMA there, and Sawa is down! CIMA heads to the top rope and he's perched up there... MAD SPLASH! CIMA NAILS THE MAD SPLASH! CIMA hooks the leg and it looks like it's over, but NO! Sawa kicks out and he's like a pitbull, grabbing onto CIMA's arm and he's got him into a FUJIWARA ARMBAR! Sawa is yelling out and trying to snap CIMA's arm, but CIMA manages to get his foot on the rope to break the hold! Sawa gets up holding his chest, but he waves his arms to get the fans into it. CIMA is on a knee against the ropes. Sawa heads over and unloads one... two... three big shoots kicks to his chest, and CIMA is holding himself against the ropes in pain! Sawa loads it up as CIMA turns, and he delivers the WIND UP PUNCH! CIMA IS DOWN! Sawa slaps the knee, and he's calling for the Shining Wizard! He goes to the corner and measures up CIMA as the fans are chanting him on! CIMA is up to a knee and Sawa rushes him, trying to deliver the Knee Strike, but CIMA ducks it! Sawa is staggered as CIMA rolls to his feet. Sawa turns and rushes at CIMA, but CIMA grabs him and tosses him into the buckles chest first! Sawa turns, leaning against the buckles, and CIMA runs in and delivers a DOUBLE KNEE STRIKE, smashing him into the buckles again, and Sawa is seated against the bottom buckle once more! CIMA stumbles before walking across the ring with a purpose, getting on the apron. CIMA looks out and yells, "CRAZY MAX, MOTHERFUCKERS!" before leaping up and springboarding... FRONT FLIP COAST-TO-COAST DROPKICK RIGHT ACROSS THE FACE OF SAWA! YUJI SHINDO IS GOING WILD ON COMMENTARY, AND THAT WAS AWESOME! The fans are chanting for CIMA now, in an odd turn, as he gets to his feet and pulls Sawa up off the bottom rope, where he is leaning with his chest and arms, effectively knocked loopy. CIMA pulls Sawa to his feet and calls for the end, lifting him up and delivering the SCHWEIN! HE DROPS HIM ON THE BACK OF HIS HEAD, AND CIMA COVERS! ONE, TWO, THREE, AND WE HAVE OUR FIRST INTERNATIONAL CHAMPION!
After the match, Shuji Kondo and Masaaki Mochizuki, CIMA's brothers in Crazy MAX come out and celebrate with him as he holds the highest crown in ISPW, and is the first to ever do it. Once Sawa can regain his footing, he gets up and stares down Crazy MAX in the center of the ring. Kondo and Mochizuki look to CIMA, asking if he wants them to beat Sawa down. Sawa holds up a hand in retreat and calls for a microphone.
"CIMA, you are a crazy bastard... your friends and you, you've caused everybody Hell on this roster since day one. And it might kill me to admit this, but you've worked your ass off every time it counted, and tonight, you out worked me. Just to be clear, we will meet again, and I will never give up. Enjoy it now, because one day, that belt will belong to me. Tonight, however, is your night... so congratulations."
Sawa offers his hand as the fans cheer. CIMA looks to Kondo and Mochizuki, looking a little unsure, before smiling and taking Sawa's hand and shaking it out of respect. Sawa raises CIMA's hand briefly, before bowing out and letting him have his moment before we head back to the announcer's table. Teioh puts over the effort those two put into that match and how important it was to see a clean, decisive finish to begin this next chapter in ISPW history. Uematsu talks about how impressed she's been with the action on this show so far, but says two of the biggest matches are still yet to come, and the one she wants to see maybe the most is up next. Shindo reminds everyone of the history between the "Alliance of Violence", Akira Hokuto and Bull Nakano, and their opponents tonight Aja Kong & Mariko Yoshida, and how it all lead to them having a street fight to settle the score.
We then head to the ring, where all four women are wearing street clothes and weapons a strewn around the ring. These competitors, as well as these fans in attendance and everyone watching at home, are ready for a war.
Street Fight: Aja Kong & Mariko Yoshida defeat Akira Hokuto & Bull Nakano in a truly violent affair after Kong pinned Nakano with the Uraken Backfist. These women would go on to use anything not nailed down to attack each other and cause punishment, as this situation has boiled over and there was no love lost between these two teams. Yoshida and Hokuto even made it back into the streets outside, where Yoshida actually delivered an Air Raid Crash off the hood of a car onto the sidewalk, effectlively taking "The Queen of Violence" out of this match. Old rivals/friends Kong and Nakano were left heavy hitting on the inside of the ring, and Nakano was bloodied but trying to end things. Nakano would set up a table and put Aja Kong on top of it before heading to the top rope. Nakano would amaze the crowd with her athleticism, as the big lady flew off the top with a Moonsault, trying to smash Kong through it, but Kong manage to roll and that sent Nakano through the table with tremendous force, hurting her in a bad way. Nakano would roll to her feet and grab a chair and try to wildly attack Kong with it, but Kong would deliver a Uraken Backfist into the chair, smacking it back into her face and causing her to drop it as she stumbled from the impact. Kong would yell out, fist clinched, and deliver another Uraken, this time right behind the ear, and Nakano was knocked out cold and bloody in the center of the ring as the referee counted to three and these fans chanted her name!
Yoshida would make it back to the ring and embrace her mentor, as they celebrated the victory in the ring! Hokuto can be seen hobbling back down to the ring through the crowd, also bloodied and holding her ribs, but she doesn't seem ready to admit defeat. Hokuto rolls into the ring and tries to tackle Kong and take her down, but Kong sprawls and shoves her away. That's when Yoshida unloads a URAKEN BACKFIST OF HER OWN, KNOCKING OUT HOKUTO RIGHT NEXT TO NAKANO! Kong and Yoshida stand over Hokuto and plant their boots on her in a sign of supreme disrespect as these fans continue to cheer them on.
We head back to the commentary table, as Shindo, Teioh, and Uematsu go over that wild match and some replays of the action. They then get ready for this historic main event, as Seth Rollins is set to defend his World championship against Katsuyori Shibata isn what is sure to be a very heated contest.
MUW World Heavyweight Championship: Seth Rollins (c) defeats Katsuyori Shibata by way of pinfall after hitting a Small Package Driver. The fans were torn on this one, as dueling chants broke out for both men, but the chants for Shibata definitely sounded louder as the ISPW star looked to bring the World Heavyweight title to Japan, something no Japanese wrestler has yet to do. Rollins would smugly try to shake Shibata's hand before the match, but Shibata refused, turning away and getting into his corner, cold as ice after blowing off some steam backstage with a little destruction of property. The bell sounded and Rollins would try to tangle up with Shibata, but Shibata would just begin to unleash rapid fire shoot kicks to the left leg Rollins, sending him into a retreat to the ropes, trying to get some distance. Shibata would then shoot and take the leg of Rollins and tie him up, clobbering him with downward heel strikes as he had a grapevine applied to the leg. Rollins would continue to be smothered with the technical ability of Shibata until finally getting to his feet, where he delivered an Enzuigiri that sent Shibata out of the ring. Rollins would taunt the crowd and pump his fist before looking like he might dive out onto Shibata, but Shibata pulled a Samoa Joe like move, just simply walking away nonchalantly, looking unimpressed by Rollins, who kind of shrugs and asks him what's up, and tells him to get back into the ring. Shibata rolls back into the ring and Rollins tries to stomp him, but Shibata manages to grab his leg and then take him over with a Dragon Screw, before standing over the champion and unloading multiple soccer kicks to his left thigh and then taking him over into a Half Boston Crab! Rollins is in a lot of trouble in the middle of the ring, but manages to pull himself to the ropes, where Shibata let's him go. Rollins is very hobbled now, but Shibata keeps going, dropkicking him to the left leg to take him down, before stomping and soccer kicking his leg further. Shibata lets Rollins get to his feet, and proceeds to run and deliver a Single Leg Kick directly to the knee of the left leg, flipping the champion inside out! Shindo says that Rollins' nickname is "The Architect", but it seems like it was Shibata who had the game plan coming into tonight's match, and Rollins' has barely had any offense! Shibata tries to call for the end and attempts to lift Rollins onto his shoulders, but the champion rolls off his back and tries to roll him up with a School Boy, but Shibata kicks out at one. Rollins is quick to get up and tries for a Superkick, but Shibata catches it and pulls Rollins down, tying up his legs and pulling him over with a Bow and Arrow Stretch! The champion is hurting very bad now, but he refuses to quit, so Shibata eventually lets him down. Shibata runs off the ropes and delivers a Penalty Kick to Rollins, attempting a cover, but only a two count, as Rollins shows his fighting spirit and the fans clap for the champion now. Shibata lets Rollins get to his feet, hobbling badly, and Shibata delivers another shoot kick to his left thigh, and it hits with such force that Rollins wobbles and falls back down again, opening him up to further stomps to the face by Shibata. Shibata grabs Rollins from behind and lifts him up, hooking his left leg and pulls him over with a BRUTAL Bridging Regal Plex! The referee makes the count and the fans think he's got it, but NO! Rollins somehow manages to kick out at two again, and nobody can question the heart of the champion, that is for sure! Shibata sneers and runs off the ropes as Rollins tries to get back to his feet, and Shibata delivers a Penalty Kick right to the back of Rollins' left leg, flipping Rollins backwards again, and the champion is down once more! Rollins is sitting in the center of the ring holding is leg in agony and Shibata runs off the ropes, trying to deliver another Penalty Kick to the chest of Rollins, but Rollins falls back to avoid contact, before rolling up to his feet and delivering a Superkick to the leg of Shibata, taking the challenger down to a knee. Rollins pulls back and tries to deliver a Superkick to the kneeling Shibata, but Shibata ducks and rolls away. Shibata is back to his feet, but Rollins rushes him and delivers the Sling Blade and the fans go crazy! Rollins is up and hobbled as Shibata tries to pull himself up, and Rollins manages to run at about half speed to catch him with a Curb Stomp! Shibata is planted, and Rollins falls back, hooking the near leg, but NO! Shibata gets a foot on the ropes and he's managed to survive the Curb Stomp! Rollins is exhausted and hurting, limping as he tries to lift up Shibata and hit something more offensively, but Shibata throws Rollins' arms away from him, and begins LIGHTING HIM UP with open hand strikes and low kicks, sending Rollins back down to the mat in absolute anguish! Katsuyori Shibata sees his destiny now, he has out wrestled the best in the world, and he knows he is about to be champion. All he has to do is put an end to this. Shibata grabs Rollins and delivers a knee to his face from the clutching position, before grabbing him and lifting up onto his shoulders. Rollins, though, didn't get the memo about Shibata being about to beat him and starts kicking his legs and laying into the side of Shibata's head with elbows. Shibata can't pull off the Go 2 Sleep, as Rollins manages to break free. Shibata turns, slightly dazed from those elbows, and Rollins catches him with a Superkick flush to the jaw! Shibata is staggered and falls backwards into the ropes, but holds himself up and stumbles forward. Rollins grabs him into a front facelock and hooks him in... he lifts him up... SMALL PACKAGE DRIVER, AND HE'S GOT SHIBATA HOOKED TIGHT! ONE, TWO, THREE!
After the match, the commentary team can't believe what they just saw, but it's true. Seth Rollins came into this match the heavy favorite to win it, but he sure doesn't look like he just won a fight after that beating he took. Katsuyori Shibata absolutely punished the champion and proved he belonged in that ring with him, no doubt about it, but Seth Rollins never gave up on himself and pulled it off.
Rollins is given his title as Shibata stands in the corner, head in his arm and trying to figure out where it all went wrong. Rollins is celebrating on the turnbuckles with his title as the fans cheer him on, still favoring the left leg, when Shibata grabs a microphone.
"Seth Rollins... you counted me out before this match. You belittled me and this challenge, and I'd like to think I changed your mind about me and ISPW as a whole. A couple of things go a little differently, and I'm the one wearing that title at the end of the night. But Seth, you proved something to me and all of these people... and that is you are truly a great champion, and you have no lack of fighting spirit... which is what this company is all about. And I hope one day I can challenge you again for that title... and a few things go a little differently. But until then, great luck in your travels, and long live 'The King Slayer'."
Rollins takes the microphone from Shibata, smiling and hobbling.
"Man, you wrecked my leg, I hope you know that. Damn it... and I appreciate the words, and to all of you fans out there and everyone in the back, I will be back and I will take on anyone who earns a shot at this title and give them everything I've got! And you fans will absolutely get your money's worth! Shibata-san, you are a warrior, and I'm going to have some serious bruises for the next few weeks to remind me of that... but buddy, you were in here with the best, and I'm not ready to give up this belt yet. But you have earned my respect, and who knows, maybe next time you'll get the breaks and be walking out with this title... but I wouldn't bet on it."
Rollins smiles now.
"Speaking of things going a little differently, I'm going to offer you my hand now and maybe this time you'll take it."
Rollins puts out his hand again, and Shibata looks down, smirking and shaking his head before placing his hand in and the two men shake out of respect. You can see Shibata mouthing, "Next time" to Rollins and Rollins says, "Any time." Shibata leaves the ring and Rollins holds up his title as this show comes to an end.
