WWE News & Notes
1. At Friday Night Smackdown on December 4, 2020, it was announced that WWE will embark on the most ambitious title tournament in Mash-Up Wrestling history. WWE will crown its first WWE Universal Champion at the Royal Rumble. 64 men will have a chance to win this championship. Both RAW and SMACKDOWN brands will have the opportunity to crown this champion with 32-man tournaments on both brands concluding on the RAW and SMACKDOWN shows the week before the big event. The Royal Rumble will take place Sunday, January 31 from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
2. A handful of free agents will be brought in over the next few weeks to fill out the RAW and SMACKDOWN brackets in the WWE Universal Championship tournament. This will be done because each brand is a few wrestlers shy of the 32 needed to pull off this 64-man tournament. It is unlikely that wrestlers brought in to round out the bracket will be extended full-time contracts.
3. Sources inside the WWE say that there are plans to introduce brand specific men's, women's and tag team championships. It has yet to be determined when these titles will be introduced or awarded, but it is believed that most if not all championships will be introduced before Wrestlemania.
4. WWE has announced dates for RAW and SMACKDOWN events through December and January. The schedule is as follows:
Dec. 7 - RAW from Centre Bell in Montréal, QC Dec. 11 - SMACKDOWN from KeyBank Center in Buffalo, NY Dec. 14 - RAW from Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, ON Dec. 18 - SMACKDOWN from Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, MI Dec. 21 - RAW from Canadian Tire Cenre in Ottawa, ON Dec. 24 - SMACKDOWN from XL Center in Hartford, CT (will air on December 25) Dec. 28 - RAW from Prudential Center in Newark, NJ Jan. 1 - SMACKDOWN from Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, IN Jan. 4 - RAW from Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, IN Jan. 8 - SMACKDOWN from Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, WI Jan. 11 - RAW from T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, MO Jan. 15 - SMACKDOWN from Heritage Bank Center in Cincinnati, OH Jan. 18 - RAW from Enterprise Center in St. Louis, MO Jan. 22 - SMACKDOWN from United Center in Chicago, IL Jan. 25 - RAW from PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, PA Jan. 29 - SMACKDOWN from Capitol One Arena in Washington, D.C. Jan. 31 - WWE ROYAL RUMBLE from Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA Feb. 1 - RAW from Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, MD Feb. 5 - SMACKDOWN from Nationwide Arena in Columbus, OH

CWF President Bobby Heenan will never be compared to Santa Claus, but he is definitely delivering main event matches before a short holiday break. Next week on Championship Wrestling from Florida, Drew McIntyre takes on Brock Lesnar in a 30-minute Iron Man match... and if McIntyre wins, he will get a CWF Southern Heavyweight championship match against Muhammad Hassan! Also, two weeks from now, CWF Florida champion Jack Brisco defends the title against the man he defeated, "Ravishing" Rick Rude - in a steel cage!
But that's not all. Starting on that episode of CWfF, Heenan has announced that a series of "stay or go" matches will begin to determine the 2021 rosters for both CWF and Championship Wrestling from Hollywood - and he'll have all of the details next week!

WWE News & Notes
1. Although first round competition in the massive 64-man WWE Universal Championship tournament has just complete, rumour has it that Vince McMahon has contemplated having the RAW and SMACKDOWN tournaments be exclusive to their own brands, with one tournament leading to the crowning of the Universal Champion and another leading to the crowning of the WWE Champion. Sources inside WWE say that Vince would rather have both tournaments end with their finals taking place at the Royal Rumble. Hopefully, a decision will be made sooner rather than later.
2. It has been said that WWE wants to stage two Royal Rumble matches, but is concerned that it won't be able to pull off the women's match on account of the fact that it would need to hire another ten women in the next month and it doesn't have the roster space to do so.
3. Tony Schiavone will be off TV for a few weeks to sell the attack on him by Kevin Owens, who himself will be off TV due to a kayfabe suspension. WWE is reporting that Owens was suspended for his actions on RAW last week. Rowdy Roddy Piper, who is currently feuding with Owens, has been announced as Schiavone's temporary replacement on RAW. John Bradshaw Layfield will fill in for him on the next edition of Friday Night Smackdown.
4. Most of the Hart Foundation missed Monday Night RAW this past Monday. Only Brian Pillman was at RAW to keep the Hart Foundation's feud with the Inner Circle going. Bret "The Hitman" Hart, Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart, Owen Hart and Davey Boy Smith had all gone to Calgary for Christmas and were unable to make it to RAW when their flights were cancelled due to inclement weather.
5. Roman Reigns has been out for a month after suffering an injury at the hands of WALTER. This injury was acknowledged on TV the week after it occurred. It is said that Rob Van Dam was hired to fill the spot in the tournament that was vacated due to his injury. Reigns isn't expected to return until late-February or early-March.

{The scene opens with a big banner of All Elite Wrestling standing in the background. We see the area is set up as a Press Conference. That is when suddenly out a side door and up to the podium shows up Tony Khan...A man that has been in the Mash-Up Universe before but seems to be holding a press conference. We see the reporters and fans watching as Tony takes time to greet everybody.}Tony Khan: Thank you everybody for the opportunity to be here and to take the time to join me today. I promise you that I am here with some MAJOR news but before I get to that I do want to address some questions I know that will be coming up and I want to say that when we first launched AEW the first time it was under the wrong type of leadership and what I mean by that is that I put my trust in people that I believe had our companies best interests in mind and I trusted a network that instead took advantage of this young start up company and they bled us dry but I promise that it will NOT be the case this time. I do want to go ahead and make some very exciting announcements. For the past few months I have been assembling a team of sorts. I have been working for months on this project and I am so proud to announce that All Elite Wrestling is back in The Mash-Up Universe. So I am sure that a lot of you have questions and I will be more than happy to address them one at a time but let me go ahead and make a MAJOR announcement. I have come to terms with these four men who will be serving as my EVP's. They will be overseeing the day to day, scouting talent, signing contracts, and getting this roster ready to rock it all out. Let me welcome Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega!!!
{Cody, The Bucks and Omega shake hands with Tony and show off for the fans in attendance and get a massive ovation! They play up the crowd a little bit before addressing the media. They all answer questions with the same basic answers. They are here to change EVERYTHING! They are here to "Revolutionize" the business. They all come across really well spoken, and the media seems to not be able to trip any of them up. Tony seems very pleased by this. The media ask a few more questions before Rhodes finally closes up this part of the conference.}
Cody: It's really simple. The Bucks, Omega and myself were all sitting talking one night and while we were waiting for some promoter in The Mash-Up Universe to give us a shot we decided that instead of just being used as pawns to get others over we decided together that we wanted to form our own promotion. Luckily, we knew just the right guy. Tony Khan is a man's man. He is a stand up guy and more importantly he is a good man. That in itself in this business is worth it's weight in gold. Now, I know we have many men who only care about making a profit, going to Hollywood, making movies....we are not that! At All Elite Wrestling we are going to SHOCK the world. We are going to show the world that it needs AEW because we are going to take over this business. We are the ones that are going to carry the torch to the future. We are the ones that are going to lead Mash-Up Wrestling into the year 2021 as the standard in professional wrestling! This is what it's all about. Making dreams come true, giving men who haven't had the chance to succeed an actual fighting chance. I promise you that as long as I have breath in my body that I will do whatever it takes to make AEW succeed and with having men that I know I can trust. I believe that we will achieve any dream or anything that is before us. So I am going to let Tony take us home but I promise everyone that hears this. AEW is coming! We are going to change the world!
Tony Khan: Thank you! That was beautifully said. Now, I am not going to top that and I am not even going to try that's for sure but I do want to just address something. I am sure that a lot of you have questions about a tv show, championships, rosters...and I will just go ahead for the sake of time and just address all of that right now. I have already signed some superstars to exclusive contracts. They have all already finished up all their indy dates and are clear and ready to compete. So we do have a roster. We even have some surprises as well to debut but they still have contracts to finish up before we can "officially" announce them as being All Elite. Now, as for the championships. I have decided that right now we are going to have 3 Championships in AEW. We are going to have The AEW World Championship, The AEW Tag Team Championship and the last championship will address my third thing I wanted to mention and that is the last championship in AEW will be the TNT Championship. Now, I am sure by the look on your faces you probably think that is some Hardcore Championship but it's not. The TNT Championship is the championship that is named after the network that we will be debuting our weekly TV Show on. That's right for the first time in many years. Professional Wrestling is back on Turner Network! We will celebrate that by announcing the TNT Championship. Now, I am sure that a lot of you are already wondering....well....who are the champions and I have decided that each championship will be awarded at our upcoming Pay Per View!
Tony Khan: That's right our first PPV will be titled AEW Revolution and I can go ahead and announce that every championship will be decided on that night in January. Now, as for the date that is TBD but we will announce that as soon as possible. Now, I am sure that a lot of you are wondering well who is going to be joining All Elite Wrestling and that answer is right here. I will close with this video introducing the superstars who are ALL ELITE! Thank you! Have a great night and we will see you for our debut episode of AEW Dynamite live on TNT!

WWE News & NOtes
1. In our last update, it was speculated that WWE might split its WWE Universal Championship tournament taking place on RAW and Smackdown into two separate tournaments, but that hasn't come to pass. That turned out to be false rumour. Sources inside the WWE now tell us that The winners of the RAW and Smackdown brackets will compete in a rare cross-brand matchup to determine the winner of the WWE Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble. The RAW and Smackdown finals are set to take place on the same show, prior to the Rumble match, with the champion being crowned in the night's main event.
2. It was thought that WWE wanted to have two Royal Rumble matches, one for each gender, however its women's roster is too small. This is said to be one of the reasons for holding three WWE Universal Championship matches on the same evening.
3. The first wrestler to confirm his participation in the Royal Rumble match is Rowdy Roddy Piper. A few other wrestlers who are now confirmed for the match include John Bradshaw Layfield, Keith Lee, Dominik Dijakovic, Bam Bam Bigelow, Owen Hart and Davey Boy Smith.
4. Mash-Up Wrestling Women's World Champion Asuka is schedule to appear at Royal Rumble. It is thought that she'll be competing in one final match against Nikki Bella. It is expected that there will be at least one other women's match on the card. The smart money is on a match between Rhea Ripley and Jazz, but Bayley vs. Ember Moon or Bianca Belair vs. Tenille Dashwood are other possibilities.

From: Mr. Paul Nitro- President of WCW To: MUW press and fans Re: WCW Cruiserweight Title Date: January 25,2021
Over the past two years, the cruiserweight title has produced great matches and memorable moments. However, it has become apparent that WCW is moving in other directions within their other championships, so therefore as of today I am defuncting the WCW Cruiserweight Title and releasing the cruiserweight wrestlers at their request. I wish these wrestlers the best of luck in future endeavors. Thank you.

Last night's CWF house show in Fort Lauderdale ended in shocking fashion. After the Nexus defeated the New Age Outlaws, Brad Armstrong, and the Dream Team (Dusty Rhodes and Billy Graham), the hellish quintet was interrupted by another faction, NeXT Evolution. In truth, they were more than interrupted - they were attacked! Ryback, Heath Slater, and Justin Gabriel bore the brunt of the assault, while Tom "RY" Carter took only a handful of shots. Curiously, Wade Barrett escaped any injury, and Triple H seemed more concerned with restraining him.

Breaking news: three members of the Nexus have left CWF! Whether it's injury-related, or there was dissention in their ranks, is still unknown... but Ryback, Heath Slater, and Justin Gabriel are no longer with the Florida-based territory.

From the desk of Buddy Rogers, Executive President of Championship Wrestling from Hollywood:
Next week, Championship Wrestling from Hollywood presents its first show live on pay-per-view. That night, we will crown our first CWH California Tag-Team champions, and we will also begin the process of determining the inaugural CWH California Heavyweight champion, and our West Coast Heavyweight champion as well.
So with no champions on the card, who will headline the card? What will possibly make people want to watch? I have the answer to that, and it's easily expressed in five words.
Brock Lesnar vs. Mike Tyson.
The rest of the card is as follows - all of the singles matches are qualifiers for the CWH California title. The winners move on, the losers will face each other in a ladder match on the first television edition of Championship Wrestling from Hollywood for the CWH West Coast heavyweight gold.
Darby Allin vs. Nick Nemeth Wade Barrett vs. Rusev Jeff Cobb vs. Timothy Thatcher EC3 vs. Rick Rude Muhammad Hassan vs. Buddy Murphy Big E Langston vs. the Rock
The CWH California Tag-Team championship will be decided in a fatal four-way match:
The Blond Bombers vs. the Dream Team vs. the Usos vs. the Varsity Club
