WCW Nitro on Netflix Episode 2
Taped from Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida
Commentary: Gorilla Monsoon and Wade Barrett
Ring Announcer: Gary Michael Cappetta
Interviewer: Missy Hyatt
Referees: Tommy Young, Joey Marella and Charles Robinson
The episode opens with Kurt Angle in the ring. He’s been on the shelf since Destination Dallas III with the rebranding and shake-up of WCW being no excuse. Angle is going to make his own place in the new WCW and issues a Kurt Angle Open Challenge for the WCW U.S. Title.
It’s answered by Brian Pilliman. Angle tells Pillman he previously answered a Kurt Angle open challenge and it’s only one per lifetime. Pillman reminds Angle that he won Angle’s Olympic gold medal from him last year from an open challenge. Pillman says Angle is scared to face him. Angle says he’s can’t, he doesn’t make the rules. Pillman “you literally do make the rules. It’s the Kurt Angle open challenge.”
Angle backs up the aisle jawing at Pillman. Randy Savage then comes out and grabs Angle from behind and tosses him back into the ring. Savage and Pillman have been allied recently, including Savage coming to Pillman’s aide in a match with Chris Jericho.

Missy Hyatt has the WCW World Heavyweight Champions of Harlem Heat of Booker T and Stevie Ray. Booker talks.
“We don’t care anything about Bruce Prichard shaking the tree and letting things fall where they may for the new WCW. Harlem Heat is still the WCW World Heavyweight Tag Team Champions and that’s all we care about. But, suckas got to have something to do. We look around at the tag team division here now. We see the New Foundation has the UWA Universal Tag Team Titles. We see the Rock ‘n Roll Express have the U.S. Tag Team Titles. We got the world tag team titles and that feels like one set of tag straps too many. (Stevie Ray throws in a “damn straight.”) So, we are challenging the Rock ‘n Roll Express title vs. title, a unification match. Can you dig that, suckas?”

Missy Hyatt has WCW World Heavyweight Champion “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes and he talks about Jake “The Snake” Roberts
“I’m going to pull the curtain back here a wee little bit. There’s a term we like to say in the back among the boys, it’s that there are some guys, daddy, who can talk the fans into the building. That’s Jake Roberts, baby. I admit he’s a silver tongued devil with the emphasis on devil. The people hear what he says and then they want to see the match, but then, daddy, Jake Roberts doesn’t deliver. Jake Roberts doesn’t get the job done in the ring. He didn’t against Chris Jericho when he was UWA champion, he didn’t recently against Randy Savage and he didn’t against the American Dream at SuperBrawl…”
Rhodes is cut-off by Roberts attacking him from behind. Rhodes takes a DDT on the concrete. Roberts looks to put Damian on Rhodes, but security and backstage officials come out and stop him.

Jake Roberts is in the back and talks to the camera. “Dusty Rhodes, you said here earlier tonight that I’m nothing but talk. I can talk the talk, sure, but I can walk the walk too and slither the slither. I showed that to you here tonight. I spoke the loudest and best word I know, DDT. That’s Damian’s Dinner Time. He’s hungry and you Rhodes would be a big meal for my Damian.”

Gorilla Monsoon explains a Captain’s Match, which was something from the old days. Two leaders of a tag team or stable will have a singles match where all other members are banned from ringside.

Missy Hyatt rushes up to Magnum TA as he tries to leave the studio and asks what’s going on. “A lot of people know that Tessa Blanchard is my stepdaughter and I’ve done nothing, but treat her like a real daughter. However, when she needed a tag team partner, she doesn’t come to me. She sides with a Canadian nobody I’d be ashamed to tag with. Little lady, all this was, was me putting you and Garvin in your places.”

We come back to Missy Hyatt have Hulk Hogan at the entrance stage holding the WCW Wild Card Title.
“It’s been a wild, strange journey here in World Championship Wrestling, brother. Back to when this was Continental Championship Wrestling. I was Thunderlips, I was Hollywood, I was Immortal. Now, I’m just plain old Hulk Hogan with Hulkamania running wilder than ever, brother. I’m saying the prayer, I’m doing the training, I’m taking the vitamins and I want all you Hulkamaniacs out there to do the same. Because what is anyone here in the WCW going to do, jack, when the 24-inch pythons of the new Wild Card Champion runs wild on you.”
Missy points out a big box off to the side that was delivered earlier for Hogan. He reads the card. “Dear Hulkster. I might be gone, but I’m not forgotten. Please, accept this token of my esteem for you and all the little Hulkamaniacs. A reminder that big things do come in big packages. Love, L.A. Knight.”
Andre the Giant then blasts out of the box and beats Hogan. He picks him up and choke tosses Hogan through the remainder of the box. Andre grabs the microphone roughly away from Missy Hyatt. “Hulk Hogan, it is not over between you and me. I have come to WCW to do two things. To claim your title belt and to claim your soul.”
