AEW Collision’s lead-in to Forbidden Door included the Road to AEW Dynasty (madstepdad.proboards.com/post/23612/thread)
Match 1 - AEW Tag Team Championships: The New Day © (14-7) vs. The OC (7-1)
- From the opening bell, it was a barn-burner with both teams looking to establish early momentum.
- The hard-hitting OC duo used their size and strength advantage early, using double team moves to batter Kingston and Woods. Anderson and Gallows were relentless, grounding the champions and cutting off their high-flying offense.
- However, the New Day weathered the storm and fired up the crowd. Kingston hit Trouble in Paradise on Gallows and Woods followed up with a top rope elbow drop for a nearfall.
- Momentum shifted back and forth at a frenetic pace. The OC answered with their Magic Killer double-team finisher on Kingston for another nearfall. Down the stretch, it was a war of attrition with all four men battling to gain the edge.
- In the end, Kingston and Woods combined for the Midnight Hour on Anderson to pull off the win in 14 minutes.
Their celebration was cut short by the Usos, who blindsided the New Day in a brutal post-match assault as the OC slunk off. The Usos hit the 1D on Woods, then double superkicks on Kingston before posing with the titles.

Match 2 - Extreme Rules: RVD (5-4) vs. Mick Foley (6-4)
- Tables were shattered into jagged splinters as Van Dam executed his Van Terminator dive through the wreckage onto the fallen Foley early in the match. The Hardcore Legend answered with a barrage of vicious chair shots, opening up a crimson mask on RVD's face.
- The competitors scoured under the ring for more plunder. Trash cans, kendo sticks, and a stop sign.
- Van Dam hit a succession of corkscrew senton bombs and a breathtaking Five-Star Frog Splash all crashing down onto the chair-laden Foley.
- Foley hit a spike piledriver onto the announce table.
- Both men made their way back into the ring where they slugged it out. Foley eventually hit a Double Arm DDT on a stop sign for the pinfall victory in 13 minutes.

Match 3 - Brian Cage (25-5) vs. Sammy Guevara (26-7) w/ Tay Melo
- Cage looked to overwhelm early, blasting Guevara with European uppercuts and a dead-lift suplex.
- Guevara responded with a step-up enzuigiri and a springboard corkscrew crossbody to batter Cage and buy himself some much-needed breathing room. However, Cage showed his incredible agility for a man his size, catching Guevara with a tilt-a-whirl powerslam.
- Guevara fired up the crowd with a flurry of superkicks and running knees that staggered Cage before Guevara hit a breathtaking shooting star press off the top rope for a near fall.
- Guevara returned to the top rope to look for a 630 splash, Cage got the ref’s attention briefly. As Guevara ascended the ropes, Tay Melo shockingly shoved him off, causing him to crash brutally to the mat. Cage didn't hesitate, immediately pouncing and hitting the Drill Claw for the treacherous 1-2-3 in 10 minutes.
A crestfallen Guevara could only look on in disbelief as Cage and Melo stood over him gloating. They reached the top of the ramp with Guevara looking heartbroken when Cage and Melo shared a kiss.

Match 4 - UWA Women’s Title Eliminator Match: Jade Cargill (42-0) vs. Isis the Amazon (3-0)
- From the opening bell, Isis looked to use her massive size advantage, muscling Cargill around the ring. The champion's usual confidence was shaken as she struggled to combat Isis' overwhelming strength, but couldn’t get the bigger woman down.
- Isis reversed a Cargill charge into a thunderous Samoan drop.
- Isis trapped Cargill in her patented Amazon's Grip submission hold in the center of the ring. Just when it looked like Cargill was fading, the champion dragged the giant by her hair towards the ropes, sending both women spilling to the floor as the referee began to count. Both women finally stirred at the 7 count. Cargill stood and stomped on Isis before rolling in the ring just before the count reached 10, maintaining her streak after a short but grueling match, in 6 minutes.
Outside the ring, Isis shouted that she’s not done with Cargill yet.

Match 5 - TNT Championship: Dean Malenko © (16-14) w/ Jake Hager vs. Wardlow (9-1) w/ Paul Heyman (and Shaquille O’Neal is at ringside, supporting Malenko)
- Accompanied by his loyal enforcer Jake Hager, the wily Malenko looked to use every trick in his book to counteract Wardlow's monstrous size and strength advantage. Early on, Malenko employed his technical wrestling to keep the beast at bay with pinpoint joint manipulation.
- The unrelenting Wardlow powered through, using vicious shoulder blocks to batter Malenko around the ring. He launched Malenko with a devastating back body drop before scoring with a pair of thunderous powerbombs that nearly spelled the end of the champion's reign, only saved by Hager pulling the ref from the ring, which drew a warning.
- The momentum swung wildly as Malenko relied on desperation and tenacity to survive Wardlow's onslaught. He hit a neckbreaker and trapped Wardlow in the Texas Cloverleaf, but the beast simply muscled out of the hold.
- The fight spilled to the outside where an unexpected factor came into play. When Wardlow inadvertently shoved Malenko into the Diesel, Shaq shockingly unloaded with a huge overhand right, dropping Wardlow!
- With the referee's back turned toward a complaining Heyman, Hager rolled the knocked-out Wardlow back inside the ring, allowing the opportunistic Malenko to capitalize for the huge pinfall victory after 10 minutes.
In the aftermath, a groggy Wardlow had to be restrained by officials, while Malenko gleefully celebrated retaining his championship with Hager and Shaq.

Match 6 - Barbed Wire Death Match: Scotty Flamingo (4-1) vs. Jon Moxley (10-7)
- With the ring ropes wrapped in coils of barbed wire, the opening bell set off a crimson-soaked spectacle of violence. Flamingo got the early advantage with a spinning backfist, then a drop-toe hold that sent Mox face-first into the ropes.
- Mox answered the assault by whipping Flamingo with bundled barbed wire lances, opening up gashes across his opponent's torso. The Purveyor of Violence then slammed Flamingo down onto a bed of barbed wire mats with two DDTs for a nearfall.
- Mox grabbed a barbed wire-wrapped baseball bat and swung full-bore at Flamingo, who ducked and hit a jumping spin kick, causing Mox to drop the bat.
- Flamingo raked the bat across Mox’s exposed chest, leaving behind a wake of crimson streaks. He followed up by choking Mox with stretches of barbed wire, slicing into his throat. He hit a piledriver for a pinfall, but Mox stood at the count of 8.
- Mox recovered to hit the Paradigm Shift on a bed of barbed wire and got a pinfall of his own, but Flamingo stood at 9.
- Flamingo would smash Mox in the head with a chair for another pinfall, but Mox stood at 8 again, and Flamingo started to pull at his hair.
- He lunged toward Mox, who hit another Paradigm Shift. But instead of going for the pin right away, he grabbed a 2-by-4 wrapped in barbed wire and smashed it repeatedly into Flamingo’s back. Mox lifted Flamingo back up into another Paradigm Shift and pinned him again. Flamingo stayed down for the full 10 count this time, and both men lay exhausted on the mat as medical personnel came into the ring to attend to them, following the brutal 25-minute match.
While the ring was cleared, we head to the back where the True Bloodline is standing with Taz, who asks about the Usos attacking The New Day earlier tonight. Rikishi speaks for them, and says that since he’s now leading the family, they’re actually going to start making waves in AEW. The tag team championships are the first piece of the puzzle. Taz asks what they’re going to do about Roman Reigns, who apparently has his eyes set on Jacob Fatu. Jacob steps forward and just says, “Roman Who?” before the group walks off.

Before entrances for the next match begin, we see a recap of the WCW Superbrawl match between Nick Aldis and Triple H, where WCW’s Aldis shockingly beat Triple H for the AEW International Championship, becoming the first non-AEW star to win the belt.
Match 7 - AEW International Championship: Nick Aldis © (1-0) vs. Triple H (4-1)
- Just six nights after his monumental upset over Triple H at WCW Superbrawl to capture the International Title, Nick Aldis had to run it back against the irate Game.
- But Triple H's mission for redemption was nearly derailed before the bell, as the returning Jeff Jarrett made a shocking return during The Game's entrance, viciously smashing his trademark guitar over the back of Triple H's skull.
- Despite the ambush, the defiant Triple H refused medical attention, determined to reclaim his championship from Aldis. The match went forth, but Triple H was clearly compromised, battling through the effects of the sneak attack.
- Aldis took full advantage, using his technicality and ring savvy to methodically pick apart and further punish the wounded Game. Triple H desperately tried to fight back, but Aldis was relentless.
- In the end, a well-placed Tombstone Piledriver from the champion put the exclamation point on another performance, as Aldis retained the International Championship in 10 minutes.
Match 8 - TBS Championship: Alexa Bliss © (14-5) w/ The Beautiful People vs. Britt Baker (10-2)
- From the opening bell, the numbers game was evident as The Beautiful People did everything to isolate Baker and cut off her attempted comebacks. Bliss utilized her speed and technical prowess to ground Baker while Madison Rayne, Velvet Sky and Angelina Love frequently provided illegal double teams while Bliss distracted the ref.
- Baker showed incredible resilience, finally managing to create some separation by dropkicking Love off the apron. She then scored with a headscissors takedown on Bliss into the Lockjaw submission hold for a great near win.
- But Baker's valiant efforts ultimately fell short when Rayne blindsided her with a cheap shot from the floor, allowing Bliss to follow up with Twisted Bliss for the pinfall victory to retain her title in 8 minutes.
An irate Baker protested to the ref, but was met with a vicious post-match beat down at the hands of the Beautiful People, as the ended by spray painting the word “loser” across Baker’s back.

Match 9 - The Elite (Omega & the Young Bucks) vs. Goldberg, Adam Cole & Kyle O’Reilly
- Goldberg recruited two shock debut partners - the cunning duo of Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly from The Undisputed Era.
- From the bell, the match erupted into chaos as all six men brawled. Omega steered clear of Goldberg, targeting O’Reilly with multiple V-Triggers before Cole broke it up with a brutal Last Shot Superkick.
- Goldberg eventually created separation, decimating Nick Jackson with a vicious Jackhammer and nearly taking his head off with a blistering spear through the ropes to the floor.
- The momentum swings were dizzying, as O'Reilly locked Matt Jackson in a crossface chicken wing while Cole hit a Panama Sunrise on Nick. But The Bucks responded, nearly regaining control after Matt scored with the Indietaker Double Underhook Facebuster on Cole.
- In the final sequence, Omega had Goldberg set up for the One-Winged Angel, but Goldberg countered it, and Omega spilled to the floor. Goldberg later hit the game-ending Spear on Matt for the 1-2-3! Match time: 18 minutes.
Omega and the Bucks quickly retreated, as Goldberg looked on, smiling, and knowing that he’s got Omega one-on-one at Double or Nothing.

Match 10 - AEW Women’s Championship: Sasha Banks © (18-4) vs. Kris Statlander (10-4)
- Banks looked to immediately impose her vicious striking, blasting Statlander with double knees in the corner. The resilient challenger fired back, hitting a meteora off the ropes for a nearfall.
- The momentum swung intensely as Banks tried using overhand suplexes and Raidenmakers to ground the agile Statlander. But the former alien warrior answered with an overhead kick and a stunning moonsault that had Banks reeling.
- Statlander kept the offense pouring on, connecting with a top rope splash and transitioning right into her Devil's Grip submission hold in the middle of the ring. Banks refused to quit, bleeding from the mouth as she broke the hold by biting Statlander's fingers.
- In a final burst of desperation, Statlander hit a pair of implant bodyslams on the staggered champion. However, when she went for a third, Banks countered into the Backstabber and followed up with the Bank Statement for the huge submission victory to retain the championship in 15 minutes.
Main Event - AEW World Championship: Cody Rhodes © (23-5) vs. Dustin Rhodes (5-5)
- From the opening bell, the disdain was palpable as Cody looked to brutalize Dustin physically and emotionally. The champion relentlessly mocked his brother, punctuating his verbal barbs with punishing knee strikes and a pendulum elbow smash that busted Dustin's nose.
- Dustin refused to go down. He battled back with vicious chops and a falcon arrow spiked DDT that nearly spelled the end for Cody's reign. However, the champion repeatedly bent the rules to shift momentum, raking Dustin's eyes.
- Dustin continued pouring on his unmatched intensity, hitting a Canadian Destroyer and an explosive Code Red powerbomb for another nearfall. Each time, Cody found a way to break the count.
- As Dustin had Cody ensnared in the Final Rites crossface chickenwing, the referee was inadvertently bumped, allowing Brandi Rhodes to strike with a low blow to Dustin to break the hold.
- This gave Cody the opening he needed. He set Dustin up in the corner, propping his legs on each rope…then hit the Shattered Dreams! After Dustin fell to the mat, Cody dragged him to the middle of the ring and hit CrossRhodes, as the now-recovered ref counted the pinfall, giving Cody the win at 18 minutes.
The post-match celebration was short-lived, however, as the arena was plunged into pitch darkness with flashing storm effects on the screen. When the lights returned, the Icon Sting was in the ring, pointing his trademark black bat towards the frightened champion as the crowd went wild!
The awestruck Cody retreated in fear as Sting stood tall in the ring and Dynasty came to an end.
