AEW Collision - St. Patrick’s Day Slam
March 16, 2024
AEW World Champion Cody Rhodes starts off the show, accompanied by his wife, Brandi, who is holding the belt. Cody is dressed in a black suit and his hair is black. He says that he’s only here today to fill out contractual obligations, and calls out his brother so they can get this over with and get out of this hellhole. Dustin comes out, wearing all white. He gets in the ring and stands face-to-face with his little brother.
Dustin - “What the hell happened to you, Cody? You feed off of the fans. You love performing for them. And, now, what? You’re a little butthurt because some of them cheered for Goldberg? You’re a disgrace to the Rhodes family name.” Cody grins before responding.
Cody - “I’m a disgrace? Look in the mirror. Two Rhodes stand in this ring right now. One is a world champion; the other is a washed-up has-been who was never a true contender. One relishes the opportunity to embarrass himself on national television; the other left the comfort of the big corporation to strike out on his own, make a name for himself and ascend to the top of this business. I’m not a disgrace to the Rhodes family name, Dustin. I embody the spirit of the DIY ethos our dad embodied. But I do it without looking like a fat slob.”
Dustin - “Hey, I did what it takes to survive in this business. If it took painting my body gold and getting shoved over in a portapotty, I obliged. Because it was best for business, memorable and entertaining. That’s really what dad taught us. You seemed to be okay with it when you were tagging along with me way back when.”
Cody - “Tagging along with you? I was abandoned by dad with my older, creepy-ass brother and his kinky wife. You didn’t care that I was there. You tried to ditch me every bit you could.” Dustin replied that that was just because Cody was a punk with a fake chip on his shoulder. Cody shoved him, and Dustin responded by tackling Cody to the ground, where they kept rolling back and forth as Brandi tried separating them. Dustin stood up off Cody and held his arms up; and Cody kicked him in the groin from the mat, then stood and hit the CrossRhodes, posing over Dustin with the championship as we head to commercial.

Match 1 - AEW Tag Team Championships: The New Day © (13-7) vs. Natural Selection (Shelton Benjamin & Cedric Alexander) (16-3)
The champions outlast the challengers in this rematch for the tag team titles. Benjamin nearly gets the win after hitting a Paydirt on Woods, but it’s broken up. Kingston gets the final pinfall after a Trouble in Paradise in a 15 minute match.
—
Kris Statlander, Britt Baker and Paige VanZant are backstage. Baker and VanZant promise to keep the Beautiful People in line and give Statlander a fair shot to win.
—
Match 2 - Sammy Guevara (24-7) w/ Tay Melo vs. Eric Young (1-6)
Guevara gets the win with the 630 Splash in 6 minutes. He mimes climbing the ladder after the match and says he’s on his way back up to the top.
—
Alexa Bliss is backstage with the rest of the Beautiful People. She looks at each of them and says that she’s walking out of Boston as the TBS Champion. She’ll take care of what is needed in the ring. They’ll know what to do whenever Statlander leaves the ring.
—
Match 3 - Jon Moxley (10-6) vs. Scotty Flamingo (2-1)
This is their second one-on-one match, booked after Flamingo complained that Mox used a closed fist to beat him during the Owen Hart Cup tournament. Mox tried keeping things physical, while Flamingo kept his space and used a lot of springboard attacks. He got the victory by untying a turnbuckle pad. As the ref repaired the turnbuckle pad, Flamingo hit Mox with a pair of brass knuckles and got the pinfall victory at 18 minutes.
—
TNT Champion Dean Malenko comes to the ring with Jake Hager. He says that he is the best champion in all of AEW. While he’s in the middle of talking, Logan Paul’s music hits, and he walks out to challenge Malenko. Malenko shrugs him off, as Paul enters the ring. Hager steps up to Paul; they jaw back and forth. Hager tells Paul he’ll have to go through him before he can get to Malenko, and Paul replies, ‘gladly.’ He wants the match now, but Hager says he’s not dressed. They’ll fight later. Paul stares daggers at Malenko, as the champion and Hager leave the ring.
—
Match 4 - Kenny Omega (9-3) vs. Goldberg (10-2)
Omega stays on the outside as soon as the bell rings. Goldberg eventually gives chase, and Omega dives under the ring. Goldberg tries giving chase, but someone underneath the ring sprays a fire extinguisher in his eyes. Suddenly, it’s the full Elite attacking Goldberg and the ref throws out the match. The Young Bucks hit the BTE Trigger on Goldberg, and Omega hits a One Winged Angel on him through an announce table.
—
After the break, we see footage of medics trying to put Goldberg on a gurney. He pushes them away and storms off to the back, yelling for Omega.

Main Event - TBS Championship: Lumberjack Match: Alexa Bliss © (13-5) vs. Kris Statlander (9-3) - Madison Rayne, Velvet Sky, Angelina Love, Britt Baker and Paige VanZant are lumberjacks
The lumberjacks/jills keep things pretty close to even on the outside. Bliss tossed Statlander out a couple times near the Beautiful People, but Baker and VanZant would rush over to get them to let Statlander re-enter the ring quickly. Statlander nearly got the win with the Big Bang Theory. After Bliss kicked out, she rolled out of the ring, only to find she was right by Baker, who hit her with a Superkick! This brought the rest of the Beautiful People around to the side, and the five women not part of the match started brawling.
In the ring, Bliss hit back-to-back Twisted Blisses for the win at 16 minutes. As she was posing with the title after the match, Baker slid in the ring and locked in the Lockjaw! As Rayne, Sky and Love slid in the ring, Baker let go and rolled away, saying that she’s next in line.
