AEW Dynamite
March 6, 2024
The show starts right away with the Bloodline’s music hitting, as the crowd jeers and the five Fatu family members emerge from backstage — Rikishi, Jacob, The Usos and Solo Sikoa. Rikishi is dressed in a suit and tie. The rest are in wrestling gear. They get to the ring, and Rikishi grabs the mic and basks for a moment in the crowd's jeers. As he’s talking, he paces the ring and highlights each member of the group.
Rikishi - “Let me introduce the world to a force that runs thicker than any championship gold. These warriors are bound by blood, honor, and a hunger for dominance.
Jimmy, Jey and Solo? They are MY progeny. Jacob? The Samoan Werewolf is my nephew, and the man I have poured my blood, sweat and tears into training. Tonight, Jacob will take on Shawn Spears in the main event.
Together, we are the True Bloodline, a brotherhood forged in sweat, sacrifice, and the echoes of legends past. We’re not just here to win titles; we’re here to claim our birthright — the very soul of professional wrestling.
Roman Reigns, you are an imposter. You’re a man who was chosen a long time ago to represent this family in professional wrestling. But you’ve earned nothing; and you don’t represent the Samoan Wrestling Dynasty. If you ever show your face in AEW again, we will crush you.
As for the rest of All Elite Wrestling, consider this your warning: The True Bloodline isn’t just knocking on your door; they’re kicking it down. And when the dust settles, the wrestling world will know that blood runs thicker than gold.”
The group poses in the middle of the ring, fists raised in the air.

Pat McAfee and Coach run down tonight’s announced matches, including Hook vs. Darius Martin, the main event and Logan Paul making his singles debut in a match against Carlito.
—
Match 1 - Hook (21-6) vs. Darius Martin (0-0)
Hook wins with the REDRUM at 7:33.

Sammy Guevara and Tay Melo are out next, drawing a huge ovation from the crowd. Guevara thanks the crowd for their support and apologizes for not winning the World Championship at Revolution. He vows to kick Cody’s ass for how he treated both himself and Melo, and promises to take the title off of Cody and embarrass him. This draws out general manager JBL, who reminds Sammy of their agreement — Sammy Guevara didn’t walk out of Revolution with the championship, so he gets to start from the bottom. But JBL is feeling generous. He’ll let Sammy get started on his climb right now.
JBL introduces Guevara’s opponent for the night, calling him the bottom of the barrel: A returning Peter Avalon.
Match 2 - Sammy Guevara (24-7) w/ Tay Melo vs. Peter Avalon (1-11)
Guevara wins with the GTH in 40 seconds. He doesn’t spend any time celebrating as he and Melo walk up to JBL, who is still standing ringside. He tells JBL that he’ll play the game right now; but mark his words: Sammy Guevara will be AEW World Champion in 2024.

Matt Riddle is backstage with Taz, who asks if he has a response to Jeff Cobb’s attack on Collision. Riddle says that Cobb has broken the bro code for the last time. Riddle is just in AEW to have a fun time, and it hasn’t been a lot of fun getting beaten up by Cobb recently. He wants another shot at Cobb, next week during St. Patrick’s Day Slam. But it’s going to be with the lights out, bro rules and falls count anywhere. Cobb wants to give Riddle a tour of the islands? It’s time for Riddle to dish out a tour of pain of his own.

Match 3 - Carlito (2-1) vs. Logan Paul (0-0)
Commentary notes that this match was set up after Carlito hit Paul with a Backstabber a couple weeks ago before Revolution, then spit an apple at Paul this past weekend and gave him another Backstabber. Paul demanded a match as soon as possible from JBL.
Paul attacks Carlito during his entrance, and they brawl into the ring to start the match, then back out of the ring and through the crowd for a double countout. As they spill backstage, staff members pull them apart.
JBL walks up as they’re yelling back-and-forth at each other. He yells at Paul that he gave him a chance tonight and he blew it. But JBL is all about money — and Tony Khan is all about giving fans what they want — and Paul vs. Carlito is both what fans want (editor’s note: just roll with it…) and it’ll make some money. He makes a match for next week during St. Patrick’s Day Slam. And if either or both of them are disqualified, they’ll be suspended indefinitely.

AEW World Champion Cody Rhodes’ music hits, and the champ walks out to loud booing, alongside his wife Brandi. Cody’s trademark dyed-blonde hair is now black. He’s wearing a suit and carrying the championship on his shoulder. He gets to the ring and grabs a mic. He says that before he gets to what he wants to say, he has a video he wants to share.
The video shows Cody getting attacked by Goldberg at Winter is Coming in December 2022, then cuts forward through various highlights of Goldberg continually attacking and eventually taking the championship off of Cody in February 2023 at Revolution.
Rhodes - “I hope that all of you paid attention with your listening ears. While I, the American Nightmare Cody Rhodes, was doing everything the right way and being the all-American good guy, you fans CHEERED when Goldberg attacked me unprovoked repeatedly. Hell, I even heard some boos occasionally directed at me. But I kept my head down, earned another title shot and took advantage. But this time? I decided that I would do whatever it takes to keep this title and make it the most sought-after championship in all of professional wrestling. Two weeks ago, it took kicking that upstart Sammy Guevara square in the balls. And if that is what it takes to keep the championship moving forward, that’s what I’ll do.” He pauses and looks out at the fans, who are booing. “Don’t jeer at me! You did this. You made me take this step. I was happy to be the smiling, blonde Ken Doll that said and did the right things. I would have reminded all of you to say your prayers and take your vitamins. I would have continued being a man my daddy would be proud of. Then I thought of something: I am more of a man and a better champion than Dusty Rhodes ever was.” He holds up the AEW World Championship. “Today is day 180 of my current reign as AEW World Champion. Dusty Rhodes was a world champion for a whopping 112 days across his entire career. And yet you people cheer every time his name is brought up. It makes me sick, how much you celebrate mediocrity.”
Dustin Rhodes’ music hits, and Cody’s brother emerges from backstage. He gets to the ring and stands face-to-face with Cody.
Dustin - “Cody, I’ve stayed quiet through all of this. For the most part, I let you do your own thing while I do mine. But I’m not going to let you stay out here and denigrate our dad’s legacy.” Cody holds up his hand and tells the crowd what denigrate means, in case that hasn’t been covered by their 8th grade education.
Dustin punches Cody in the face! As Cody stumbles away, Brandi gets in between them. Dustin throws up his arms and walks away, as Cody glares at him.
—
Match 4 - The OC (5-1) vs. Los Parks (5-14)
The OC get the victory in 8:23 with the Gallows Pole on L.A. Park. After the match, the Blackpool Combat Club hits the ring to exact revenge on the OC for their recent attacks, but Gallows and Anderson slip away before the BCC can get to them.

We see a recap of the Wardlow-Triple H segment from last week. An International Championship match is announced for St. Patrick’s Day Slam.
—
Match 5 - Madison Rayne (13-9) w/ The Beautiful People vs. Michelle McCool (7-12)
Rayne gets the win with the Rayne Check (Guillotine Drop) in 5:20.
After the match, Britt Baker, Kris Statlander and Paige VanZant hit the stage. Statlander has the mic and challenges Alexa Bliss to a rematch for the TBS Championship. She was going to demand that the rest of the Beautiful People be barred from ringside, but she’s got a better idea: Let’s have an old-fashioned Lumberjack match, with Bliss’ ladies on one side, and Baker and VanZant on the other.
Bliss confers with her group, then agrees to the match for next week, noting that this is the last chance Statlander will get.
—
Main Event - Jacob Fatu (0-0) w/ Rikishi vs. Shawn Spears (13-8)
Spears proves to not be a pushover, but the Samoan Werewolf prevails in the end following a pop-up Samoan Drop and a Mighty Moonsault for the win in 12 minutes.
