AEW Collision
March 2, 2024
On commentary tonight: Taz and Pat McAfee
The New Day’s music hits and the new tag team champions hit the arena, alongside Big E. They’re all smiles as Xavier Woods plays his trombone, and Kofi Kingston and Big E each dance down the aisle. In the ring, they talk about being the best tag team in the business because they have the most fun.
They’re interrupted by Natural Selection. Shelton Benjamin says the New Day are just a bump in the road, and they’re going to get the titles back in two weeks on Dynamite. Woods and Kingston nod at each other, agreeing to the match.

Match 1 - LAX (10-9) vs. Public Enemy (3-5)
LAX gets the win when Hernandez hits the Border Toss on Rocco Rock at 8:39.

Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta of the Blackpool Combat Club are out next. Mox grabs the mic and first congratulates Wardlow on his victory last week. He wants another shot at the big man, but he’s got another issue to deal with.
Mox - “Scotty Flamingo, you are picking a fight with the wrong man. I don’t know what kind of personality crisis you’re going through, but I can promise you that you’ve never faced a man as dangerous as me. Next time you come at me, hit me in the face. Make sure I can’t recover. Because if you make that mistake again, your career will be over before you can say, ‘nevermore.’”
The BCC heads to the back. As they’re on their way up the ramp, two men hop the railing and attack Castagnoli and Yuta with chairs. It’s The OC! Mox turns to attack and they scatter.

Match 2 - Bianca Belair (8-3) vs. The Bunny (1-5)
Belair wins with the KOD at 2:49.

Scotty Flamingo is backstage, standing with Coach. “I think Jon Moxley has me confused with someone else. Scotty Flamingo is the prettiest man in AEW. He’s not some loner, grungey, hardcore plebian. And turnabout is fair play, my friend. You see, you were only in the finals of that match because you punched me with a closed fist. You see this bruise on my eye? This blemish to my perfect face? That’s your doing, and that’s why you got a boogie board to the back of your head. Face me again, Mr. Mox. And you’ll find out that the future is…Flamingo!”
As he finishes, Carlito walks by, eating an apple. He looks at Flamingo and says he isn’t very cool. Before he can spit, Logan Paul walks up and gets in Carlito’s face. He tells Carlito that he hasn’t forgotten that surprise Backstabber a couple weeks ago. Carlito smiles, takes another bite of apple, and spits it straight in Paul’s face! Paul recoils and lashes out with a punch! Carlito dodges it easily as Paul is blinded; the punch catches Coach in the face and knocks him out, as Carlito hits a Backstabber and walks off.
—
Match 3 - Matt Riddle (9-7) vs. Dante Martin (0-0)
Riddle gets the win at 8:12 after high-flying antics from Martin. They show respect after the match. As Riddle celebrates afterward on the turnbuckle, Jeff Cobb enters the ring. Riddle turns around into a Tour of the Islands. Cobb grabs the mic and says that Riddle apparently didn’t get the message the first time. He blames Riddle for costing him the TNT Championship last week and says that, this time, he’s going to put Riddle out for a lot longer than just a couple months.

After the break, McAfee is in the ring. A table is set up with two Owen Hart Cup trophies. McAfee welcomes the Women’s Cup winner first, Britt Baker. The DMD comes out and accepts the trophy before vowing to come after the Beautiful People and Alexa Bliss’ TBS Championship.
This brings out the heel stable, and the Beautiful People, and Bliss gets to the ring and stands face-to-face with Baker, as McAfee leaves the ring. The Beautiful People surround Baker, as Bliss tells her to keep their names out of her dirty mouth. The DMD shrugs and swings her trophy at Bliss! She breaks the trophy on Bliss’ arm, then the rest of the group attacks and beats Baker down. Rayne hits the CrossRaynes, then Bliss loads up for Twisted Bliss when Kris Statlander and Paige VanZant run down and clear the ring. They help Baker to her feet, and the two groups stare each other down as we head to commercial.
—
Back from break, and the carnage from before is cleared. McAfee announces the winner of the Men’s Owen Hart Cup, Wardlow. The big man comes out alongside Paul Heyman and accepts the trophy. Heyman grabs the mic.
Heyman - “I am proud to introduce to you, the winner of the inaugural Owen Hart Cup and future AEW Champion — WAAAAARDLOW! Now, first: Scotty Flamingo. You drew the ire of this man by interfering in his match and tainting his victory. Now, everybody in Houston and around the world knew that Wardlow was winning the Owen Hart Cup. We don’t care how pretty you think you are. You don’t interfere in Wardlow’s matches without suffering some consequences. But my man Wardlow has some other business to take care of first: By virtue of winning the Owen Hart Cup, Wardlow gets a shot at either the TNT Championship or International Championship. I’ll let the man himself reveal who his next victim will be.”
Before Wardlow can speak, “Time to play the Game” hits and AEW International Champion Triple H makes his full entrance, including the water bottle spot. He gets in the ring and smiles at Wardlow briefly before glaring over at Heyman, who cowers away.
Triple H - “Now, I’m not sure what your line of thinking is Wardlow, but I thought I’d come out here and give you some advice. You remind me a lot of another young, musclebound, hard-hitting superstar who made waves with a brutal powerbomb about 20 years ago. And you both have a helluva spinebuster. I’ve got a proposal for you to think about. You could take that trophy and turn it into a match for the TNT Championship against Dean Malenko. That’s a match you’ll probably win with relative ease — no offense to the Iceman. Or…Or you can choose to go after the International Championship against The Game. I’m not foolish enough to think that you don’t have a shot against me. I know exactly what I’m walking into. The question is, Wardlow: Do you have the balls to turn down a sure thing like the TNT Championship for the chance at beating The Game?”
Wardlow considers it briefly before nodding his head and telling Triple H that he’s on. Wardlow is coming after the International Championship.
