Live from the G. Rollie White Coliseum in College Station, Texas
Ring Announcer: Gary Michael Cappetta
Interviewer: SoCal Val
Referees: Tommy Young, Joey Marella and Charles Robinson
Gorilla Monsoon and Wade Barrett welcome everybody to the show. Shane McMahon has played roulette with the match-ups announced for Destination Dallas III to present some interesting and different match-ups for tonight. David Von Erich and Charlotte Flair, who have UWA title shots, will team against Kurt Angle and Taya Valkyrie, the WCW U.S. Men’s and Women’s champions. In non-title bouts Perfectly Wonderful will face the Rock ‘n Roll Express and Steve Austin will square off with Kevin Von Erich. But our first match has never happened before anywhere in the world.
“Macho Man” Randy Savage defeated Michael “P.S.” Hayes with Jimmy “Jam” Garvin by pinfall at 14:11. Garvin kept interfering until Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson came out to get in his face. Hayes slid to the floor to backup Garvin. Savage does a slingshot plancha out onto the Fabulous Freebirds. Suplex on the floor. He slides Hayes back in and finishes with the flying elbow smash.

David Von Erich meets with Charlotte Flair about their tag match later. Flair tells David to stay out of her way, she’s only going to be out there because Shane McMahon booked it and she doesn’t want to jeopardize her UWA Universal Women’s Title shot at Destination Dallas III. Von Erich tells Flair she might act big and bad, but she doesn’t need to. She’s the greatest women’s wrestler he’s ever seen and she could probably beat half the men in the locker room based on skill alone. Flair seems surprised to hear him say that. “You respect yourself, that’s clear. Now you need to let others respect you too. If you just let the fans support you, like they support me and Kevin, you might find it feels pretty good. Because the Von Erichs have found love and respect to always be hand in hand.”

Wendi Richter defeated Kamille Kaine by reverse decision at 6:45. Kaine is wearing a headband, which she never does. Kaine pushes Richter into the near corner on a True Colors DDT try and delivers three headbutts to the stomach. Richter seems really shook up by that. Reverse whip into a short range spear gets the pinfall. However, Tessa Blanchard runs out and surprises Kaine from behind as she celebrates and takes off the headband and breaks it open to reveal it’s metal lined. Referee Charles Robinson didn’t detect this on the pre-match patdown. He reverses it to a DQ win for Richter. Kaine isn’t happy.

SoCal Val has Hulk Hogan on the interview stage. L.A. Knight countered Hogan’s challenge for a WCW Wild Card Title shot with a shot at the WCW Trios Titles the nWo have if Hogan can find two more partners. “I’ve got 7.54 million partners in all the little Hulkamaniacs out there, but I know they can’t all get in the ring with me as much as they want to. So, I called in the two biggest Hulkamaniacs I could find and said, ‘hey, come hang and bang with me in Dallas on Feb. 25,’ and they said, ‘you got it, brother.’” Hogan introduces Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake and Tugboat Thomas.
L.A. Knight comes out with Will Hobbs and Karrion Kross. “This is who you get? I knew you would be scraping the bottom of the barrel, but this is beneath the barrel, yeah. You’re digging through the ground and halfway to China to dig up these two dummies, yeah.”
Beefcake challenges Knight to a Wild Card Title match where the loser gets a haircut. Knight says they’re not doing that, but the two big men can get in the ring tonight with Will Hobbs vs. Tugboat Thomas.

Brian Pillman defeated “The Model” Rick Martel with Asuka by pinfall via Air Pillman at 9:32. Viper Pillman watched from the entrance stage. Martel dodges a flying crossbody and Pillman slides to the floor. Asuka kicks Pillman on the outside while Martel has the referee distracted. He goes outside to get Pillman. He goes to whip him into the ring stairs, but Brian reverse and Martel sandwiches Asuka between the steps. Pillman with a leaping bulldog on the floor. He rolls Martel back in and gets his finish.

SoCal Val has “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes on the interview stage. “Steve Austin, we’ve been doing this tango for too long, baby. We’ve got one more dance to do and it’s going to be Feb. 25 at Destination Dallas III, daddy. We’ve talked about who’s the better Texican. We’ve talked about who’s the better wrestler. We’ve talked about who’s got more heart, more smarts and more passion. We’ve talked about who wants the WCW World Heavyweight Title more. In a few short days, the time for talking is over and the time for action is at hand. All the conjecture will be answered, daddy. Everything we’ve been warring over, spilling our blood, sweat and tears over will be over. And it will be in a Texas Death Match, and there’s nothing I want more, daddy. It’s not the beginning of the end or the end of the beginning for you, Austin. At Destination Dallas it’s the end of the end.”

“The Prizefighter” Kevin Owens defeated One Man Gang with “Number One” Paul Jones by pinfall at 8:45. Eddie Gilbert comes out while Jones has the referee distracted. Gang tries to whip Owens into Gilbert on the apron for a shot, but Owens reverses and the heels collide. Gang stumbles into a Stunner for the victory. Owens goes after Gilbert after the match and chases him to the back.

SoCal Val has “Macho Man” Randy Savage on the interview stage. “The Freebirds can flap their little wings and fly away, yeah. Because the Macho Man has his radar programmed for Jake Roberts and Destination Dallas III, yeah. The Snake likes to talk about choices, what he chooses to do and not do, yeah. Well, a very smart man once said free will is nothing but an illusion. Do you know who said that, Val? (she shakes her head no) I did, just now, yeah. Another smart man once said there are only two things certain in life and that’s death and taxes, yeah. Do you know who said that? (Val shakes her head no again) Trick question! It was me again just now. Well, there are only two things you can do against me in the ring, Jake Roberts. That’s nothing and like it. Dig it!”

Owens is still chasing Gilbert in the back. He rounds the corner of a hallway and Owens follows right into a double big boot from the Powers of Pain of Warlord and Barbarian. They give Owens a double team powerbomb on the concrete. Jones appears with One Man Gang. Gilbert might have paid them off for their help, but OMG isn’t happy about Gilbert causing him to lose out there. Gilbert does the ‘what is that’ with finger point distraction and then runs in the other direction.

“Powerhouse” Will Hobbs defeated Tugboat Thomas by pinfall via rotation spinebuster at 6:46. Knight and Kross run out to help with a beatdown after, but Hogan and Beefcake then enter and force the heels from the ring. Beefcake works his clippers and points at Knight.

Perfectly Wonderful (“Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig and “Mr. Wonderful” Paul Orndorff) with Col. Robert Fuller defeated The Rock ‘n Roll Express (Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson) by pinfall of Orndorff on Morton at 8:17. Morton gets distracted by the Fabulous Freebirds running out and yanking Gibson off the apron and beating him up on the floor. Orndorff hits Morton in the back of the head with a running forearm. Inverted atomic drop sets up a running clothesline. He finishes with a piledriver.

Jake “The Snake” Roberts is on the interview stage with SoCal Val. “Normally, I don’t listen to Randy Savage when he talks because he says nothing of value. But, tonight he did say something that piqued my interest. Free will is an illusion. That’s something philosophers have pondered for years. Well, Jake Roberts is the master of his own destiny. There is no such thing as fate, no such thing as luck and no such thing as God, although you’ll be praying to him, Savage, at Destination Dallas III. I choose to face you at Destination Dallas III and I choose to finally you put you out of your misery.”

“Stunning” Steve Austin with Col. Robert Fuller defeated Kevin Von Erich by pinfall at 13:30. Austin gets the hot shot, but the second rope elbow drop misses. Kevin with three dropkicks. Austin tries to bale, but Kevin grabs him by the leg and delivers a couple elbows to the knees. Scoop slam off the ropes. Kevin goes up top, but Fuller shakes the ropes so Kevin crotches himself. Superplex by Austin wins it.

Magnum TA is on the interview stage with SoCal Val. “A lot of people have been calling me crazy for challenging Chris Jericho to a 30-minute Iron Man match at Destination Dallas III. Well, I’m crazy like a fox. Jericho thinks he’s God’s gift to wrestling, but I’m the devil’s gift to wrestling. I’m big, bad and dangerous to know. I’m tired of playing games with someone who treats all of professional wrestling as his personal joke. This is serious business to me. A lot of people think Jericho is living rent free in my head. If that’s true, and it isn’t, he gets evicted at Destination Dallas III.”

There is a knock on the nWo locker room door. Maria Kannelis-Bennett goes to answer it and asks who it is. A voice says candy gram. Channeling the dumb Maria days and liking candy, she opens the door and it’s Hulkamaniacs. Beefcake is brandishing his sheers and wants L.A. Knight, but numbers get to the faces and they get driven back out the door. Just like a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic’s, Knight’s hair is perfect and no strutting and cutting is going to change that.

“The Yellow Rose of Texas” David Von Erich and “The Queen” Charlotte Flair defeated “The Ultimate Olympian” Kurt Angle and Taya Valkyrie with Maria Kanellis-Bennett by submission at 17:29. Valkyrie tries to hit Flair with the Road to Valhalla, but she fights the arms getting hooked and Valkyrie turns it into a wheelbarrow face jam. Tag to Angle. He cockily taunts Von Erich and then goes for the Angle Slam, but Flair drops into an inverted DDT. Tag to David. He’s a house of fire. He gets the Iron Claw. Valkyrie tries to interfere, but Flair spears her. Angle is still fighting as David presses him to the mat. Flair swoops in and locks Angle in the Figure Eight while Von Erich is still working the claw and Angle taps out. Barrett correctly points out that should have been a disqualification. Monsoon said that was too good of an opportunity to pass up. David and Charlotte stand with arms raised in the air and Flair has a look on her face of “okay, that feels pretty good.”
