AEW Dynamite
Feb. 7, 2024
AEW World Champion Cody Rhodes kicks off the show by coming to the ring alongside his wife, Brandi, as the crowd sings along to his theme song and cheers for him. He seems to bask in the cheers for a few moments.
Cody - “I’ve had a couple of weeks now to decompress. To digest my win over Malakai Black; and to think about how I reacted to Sammy Guevara’s comments. Sammy, if you’re back there, I have something to say to you face-to-face.” Guevara comes out alongside Tay Melo to mostly boos, though not as overwhelming as they used to be. They get to the ring and Guevara stands across from Cody, who continues, “I let the pressure get to me a little bit. You were right. And I was wrong to sucker punch you. We are the hottest two stars in AEW today. And, I have to say, you absolutely deserve a shot at the World Championship.” Cody extends his hand, and Guevara thinks about it briefly before accepting it. Cody pulls him close. “But know this: After my wife and child, this championship means everything to me. You can have your shot at Revolution, but Cody Rhodes is leaving Houston as AEW World Champion.”
Before Guevara can reply, JBL’s music hits and he walks down to the ring and stands between the two with a big smile on his face.
JBL - “I can get behind this match, but there’s one problem. Sammy, you’re already the TNT Champion. And while I’m not opposed to there being a double champion around here, I am feeling just a little bit feisty. I’ll grant you this match — but you have to vacate the TNT Championship. You can never get another shot at the TNT Championship. And if you don’t leave Revolution with the World Title, you’ll start back from the bottom of the ladder. I’ll give you to the end of the night to decide.”
JBL goes to walk away, but Guevara calls after him to stop. He speaks briefly to Melo, then walks over to JBL with the TNT Championship.
Guevara - “I’ve poured everything into this title over the past year. But I can’t pass up the opportunity to win the World Championship.” He hands the belt over, then turns to go nose-to-nose with Cody. “It’s all on-the-line. I’ve given up everything to come after you. Now I can’t lose.” We cut to commercial.

Match 1 - Matt Riddle (8-7) vs. Jungle Boy (6-8)
Riddle wins with BroDerek at 6:10. After the match, he reiterates that he’s here to win the Face of the Revolution ladder match and put Jeff Cobb out of action the same way Cobb put him out of action.
—
Coach and Pat McAfee run down tonight’s card, including The OC vs. Blackpool Combat Club, Kris Statlander vs. Madison Rayne and tonight’s main event - a six-man tag pitting The Elite against the Bloodline team of Roman Reigns and The Usos.
—
As Triple H is entering the arena, Brian Cage comes out of nowhere with a lead pipe across The Game’s back. Cage viciously attacks him, eventually hitting an F5 onto a catering table before security gets there, alongside Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander, to calm Cage down and pull him away.
—
Match 2 - The OC (4-1) vs. Blackpool Combat Club (Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta) (0-0)
Before the match, we see footage from recent weeks of Claudio and Wheeler getting laid out by an unseen group, later revealed as Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson of the OC. The match never even gets started as The OC rush BCC during their entrance and the teams brawl through ringside and out through the crowd.

Promo for this weekend’s Collision, featuring the Owen Hart Cup semifinals matches of Jon Moxley vs. Scotty Flamingo, and Wardlow vs. Dean Malenko, as well as a contract signing for Jade Cargill vs. Bianca Belair. Tony Khan will also be on-hand with an announcement about the newly vacated TNT Championship, as well as another major announcement.
—
Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks — The Elite — are out to the ring next to a chorus of boos. Omega says that it’s completely unfair that he has to face both Goldberg and Roman Reigns at Revolution. Goldberg should be suspended anyway, and Reigns is showing that he’s lost a step recently. He doesn’t even belong in the same ring as Kenny Omega.
—
Match 3 - Kris Statlander (8-2) vs. Madison Rayne (13-7) w/ The Beautiful People
Statlander and Rayne have a good back-and-forth match until Statlander looks like she’s going to win, and the Beautiful People attack to draw the DQ at 9 minutes. While they’re beating Statlander down, Britt Baker runs out with a chair to clear the ring. She and Rayne — who will face off in the finals of the Owen Hart Cup at Revolution — stare each other down, while Baker helps Statlander to her feet.

We follow backstage, where the OC and BCC are still brawling. Gallows powerbombs Yuta on the hood of a car, while Castagnoli has Anderson in a Big Swing before letting go and walking into a boot from Gallows.
—
Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood are out next to a loud ovation from AEW fans.
Cash - “We are FTR, and we are not here to play games. We are not here to make friends. We are not here to entertain you. We are here to dominate you. We are here to destroy you. And we are here to revolutionize AEW.
Dax - “So, AEW, get ready. Get ready for the arrival of FTR. Get ready for the rise of FTR. We are FTR, and we are the present and future of tag team wrestling. And that's not a catchphrase, that's not a slogan, that's not a gimmick. That's a fact. That's a promise. That's a threat. And that's FTR.”

Match 4 - Solo Sikoa (2-1) vs. Miro (5-2) - winner gets a spot in the Face of the Revolution Ladder Match
High-impact move after high-impact move as both men try to end the match early. Sikoa hits the spike, but Miro is able to roll out of the ring and recover. Miro wins after hitting a Bulplex (Oklahoma roll transitioned into a release German suplex) and a follow-up Machka Kick, at 11:30.

DX is backstage, with Triple H getting taped up around his midsection. He is seething and wants revenge on Brian Cage. Road Dogg says they’ll get it, but in the meantime, the Outlaws have a Championship Eliminator match this weekend against Benjamin and Alexander. If they win, they’ll be a part of the title match at Revolution. Together, they’ll take everything away from Natural Selection.
—
Match 5 - RVD & Sabu (5-2) vs. The Butcher and the Blade (3-11)
RVD & Sabu get the win in 4 minutes with Sabu locking in the Arabian Clutch on the Blade.
—
The OC and BCC are continuing to brawl through the arena.
—
The Bloodline is backstage. Roman Reigns says that Omega thinks that Reigns has lost a step and doesn’t belong in the same ring? He reminds Omega that they fought to a double count-out in December, and while he didn’t want to share the joy of crushing Omega with Goldberg, the bottom line is that he is going to crush, smash and stack both men in two weeks. Tonight will just be a preview.

Main Event - The Elite vs. Bloodline (Reigns and the Usos)
(Going to pick up at the end of the match, after about 15 minutes of action.)
Omega and Jimmy trade punches and chops in the middle of the ring, until Omega hits a knee strike and a snap dragon suplex. Omega tags in Nick, who hits a 450 splash on Jimmy for a near fall. Nick sets up Jimmy for the BTE Trigger as Jey pulls Omega off the apron and sends him into the steel steps.
Reigns gets in the ring and hits Nick with a spear, but Matt makes the save. Matt superkicks Reigns and goes for the Meltzer Driver on Jimmy, but Reigns pulls Nick off the top rope and hits him with another spear.
At this time, the OC and BCC spill back out into the arena, still fighting right down and into the ring. Reigns spears Gallows! Then he turns into a V-Trigger, and now it’s turned into a 10-man brawl in the ring as the ref throws out the match.
JBL appears on the stage, waving his arms and calling people out from the back as security and some other wrestlers rush out to help put a stop to the proceedings. As chaos reigns in the ring, Kenny Omega escapes up the ramp…only to run into a spear from Goldberg. The show ends with Goldberg standing over Omega and the ring engulfed in a brawl.
