Hey everybody, I have some unfortunate news to pass along. Rick54 was a friend through another message board and I got word yesterday that he passed away on August 16 at his home in Mississippi at the age of 69. As he posted here fairly consistently for the last 8 years, I just wanted to let you all know. Rest in peace Richard.
(If this is better suited for another forum, please feel free free to move it as I was not sure where I could post something like this and it seemed like the best location. Thank you.)

Thank you for giving us the information. I wasn't around as long as Rick was, but did interact with him and he was a great owner for us when he was here. Our condolences to his family and friends.

Wow, thanks for letting us know. That is quite the blow. I've been writing on this forum since around 2016, so most of his tenure, and he will certainly be missed. He was a kindred spirit, for sure. Rest in peace, brother.

He was a constant on here and it was certainly easy to see when his favorite era was. Sorry to hear the news, he'll be missed.

No problem, Joe. I didn't want you guys thinking he had just logged off and lost interest or something like that. And yes, fifthhorseman he loved this hobby and old school Mid South and Gulf area wrestling, although he also liked the new era of women's wrestling as well. I believe Cowboy Bill Watts was his favorite. I am glad the shows here exist as it should give me a lot of fresh reading material for his work if I'm ever feeling nostalgic for his work.

Yes, he loved the old territory wrestling, but he also ran some stellar women's promotions. He always seemed to enjoy some of the work I did with my joshi writing, which was a rarity. I appreciated him for that. We both really liked Takako Inoue. I think I will watch one of her matches here soon, in light of this news.

That sounds good! I think I'll join you and watch one of her matches as well. It hadn't occurred me to give YouTube a go and check out some of his favorite workers but I like that idea.
