AEW Dynamite - Dec. 14, 2022
Match 1 - Madison Rayne (4-1) w/ The Beautiful People vs. Serena Deeb (7-4)
Rayne gets the win over Deeb with a roll-up in 4:42. Deeb had her hand on the ropes, but Angelina Love knocked it off before the ref saw.
Sammy Guevara and Tay Melo are backstage. Guevara says that Winter is Coming will be a joyous day in their household, as he takes a step toward winning the Dynamite Diamond Ring, and Tay becomes Women’s Champion.
Match 2 - Dean Malenko & Peter Avalon (2-1) vs. The Outsiders (1-1)
The Outsiders come out and give a promo about gnats. Scott Hall asks the crowd if Peter Avalon is annoying. “Survey says, you’re a gnat.”
Avalon starts the match, but quickly tags in Malenko, who gets in a few shots on Hall before getting overpowered by both Hall and Nash. When he tries to go back for a tag, Avalon pulls back his hand and walks off, leaving Malenko to the Outsiders, who teamed up and pinned Malenko after 7:14 after the Jackknife Powerbomb. After they left the ring, Avalon returned with a microphone and a chair. He said that Malenko didn’t appreciate him; that nobody appreciates him. And it’s time for him to make people appreciate him, starting with Malenko. As Malenko stands, Avalon hits him over the head with the chair, then leaves the ring as medics come from the back to check on him. RVD and Sabu also run out to check on Malenko.

Next week during Winter is Coming, Taz has a special presentation for Hook.

Match 3 - Samoa Joe (2-2) vs. The Hurricane (1-4)
Joe defeats The Hurricane with the Muscle Buster in 4:59, then grabs the mic afterward.
Joe - “You can try to avoid me all you want to, Jake Hager. But I’ll keep coming for you. I’m a dangerous man. You don’t want me hunting you down, making you look over your shoulder all the time. I want my shot at the All-Atlantic Championship; and I’ll get it one way or another.”

Malakai Black appears on the screen behind a chain link fence, in the dark. He has a message for Raven. It’s a mistake to lock yourself in a cage with the leader of the House of Black. Just ask our current AEW World Champion. Black is going to tear Raven to shreds next week, and then turn his attention toward Hook.

Match 4 - Sasha Banks & Jade Cargill vs. Beth Phoenix & Tay Melo
As the match nears its end, Banks tries to spear Phoenix, but Phoenix dodges and the spear connects with Cargill. Phoenix tags Melo in while Banks checks on Cargill. As she rises, Cargill hits her with a forearm, followed up by a powerslam, before storming off, while Melo and Phoenix double team Banks. Melo gets the pinfall after Phoenix hits a Glam Slam and Melo hit a vicious kick to Banks’ face. Match time: 9:04.
After the match, Cargill returned to the ring and attacked Banks while Phoenix and Melo went to the back. She hit her Jaded Finisher twice in the ring, then took Banks to the outside. Before she could do it on exposed concrete, she was stopped by officials and grabbed a mic.
Cargill - “You took the first shot tonight, Sasha. This is what you get when you mess with the best. I’m going to take care of Tay Melo next week. Then I’m coming after the UWA Women’s Championship.”

Cesar Duran is backstage with his Natural Selection stable of Brian Cage, Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander. He promises a championship victory for Benjamin and Alexander against the Steiners, and says that Big E had better steer clear of Cage during the Dynamite Diamond Battle Royale next week, or there will be trouble.
Match 5 - Nick Jackson (0-1) w/ Matt Jackson vs. Cedric Alexander (0-1) w/ Shelton Benjamin
Alexander gets the win with the Kick to Kill (Fireman’s Carry-overhead kick) after 8:58, following a back-and-forth match.

Samoa Joe is leaving the building with his duffel bag, when Jake Hager blindsides him with a pipe to the leg. Hager yells that the championship is his, and he’s never giving it up. But if Joe wants his shot, he can have it next week. Assuming he can still stand.

The Dynamite Diamond Battle Royale is during Winter is Coming next week. It will feature 10 of AEW’s top stars, including Brian Cage, Big E, Sammy Guevara and MVP, in an over-the-top-rope battle royale. The final two standing will face off during Dynamite: Beach Brawl in January to win the Dynamite Diamond Ring.

Main Event - Chosen Bros & Cody Rhodes vs. Beer Money & Jeff Jarrett
The action is fast and furious, but the heels get the upper hand after JBL distracts the ref and Shawn Spears hits a C4 on Riddle on the outside. Beer Money teams up on Rhodes, and Jarrett pins him after hitting 2 Strokes at 12:49. Following the match, The Apex teams up on all three in the ring, and even dispatches the Young Bucks, who try to help. The show ends with JBL holding Rhodes up for Jarrett to hit him over the head with a guitar and leave him laying.
