SUMMERSLAM 2022: NIGHT 1 KICKOFF SHOW
Kairi Sane & IYO SKY vs. Aja Kong & Nyla Rose : Iyo Sky took out Aja Kong with an Asai moonsault. When she got back on the ring apron, she got back into the ring, she dropkicked Nyla Rose’s knees until she was caught up in the ropes. Sky hit a tiger feint kick. Kairi Sane made the blind tag and climbed the turnbuckle. Sky nailed the moonsault and Sane followed seconds later with an Insane elbow drop before pinning Rose for the win. After the match, Aja Kong entered the ring and took out both winners with Uraken spinning backfists and brainbusters. (9:23) -- Winners by Pinfall: Kairi Sane & IYO SKY

MACHO MAN vs. HEARTBREAK KID: Randy Savage vs. Shawn Michaels : Randy Savage went for a running bionic elbow smash, but Shawn Michaels ducked it, ran to the ropes and hit Savage with a flying forearm. Michaels did a kip-up and tuned up the band. Savage got up and Michaels went for the Sweet Chin Music. Savage got his hands up to block. Savage dropped Michaels with a clothesline before giving him a piledriver. Savage made the cover, but Michaels kicked out just in the nick of time. Savage climbed the turnbuckle and went for the diving elbow drop, but Michaels rolled out of the way. Once back to their feet, Michaels landed a Sweet Chin Music and made the cover. 1…2… Savage got a shoulder up! Michaels tuned up the band again and when he went for Sweet Chin Music, Savage connected with a standing dropkick. Savage blocked a right fist, then got Michaels with a hair-pull hangman and climbed the turnbuckle. He landed the diving elbow drop and made the cover. 1…2… Michaels got a shoulder up! Savage went to the top rope to go for another diving elbow drop, but Michaels put his knees up to block, and quickly transitioned to a small package pin. 1…2… Savage shifted his weight over so HBK’s shoulders were pinned. 1…2…3! THE ELITE vs. #DIY: Kenny Omega & Adam Page vs. Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano : Kenny Omega took Tommaso Ciampa down with a Kotaro Krusher, then lifted him onto his shoulders for the One-Winged Angel. Johnny Gargano entered the ring and hit Omega with a superkick for the save. Adam Page came in and gave Gargano a release German suplex. When he got up, Ciampa ran him over with a clothesline, then gave him a Fairy-Tale Ending. Omega gave Ciampa a rain trigger, then prepared for a V-Trigger. Gargano made a blind tag and intercepted Omega with til-a-whirl headscissors transitioned into a Garga-No-Escape. Page went to break it up, but Ciampa intercepted with a discus clothesline. Omega tried to get to the ropes, but as he got close, Gargano rolled over while keeping the hold locked in. Omega had no escape and had to give up. (17:34) -- Winners by Submission: #DIY
WWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: Adam Cole {c} vs. Randy Orton : Randy Orton countered a whip and executed a snap powerslam on Adam Cole that got a 2-count. Orton went to the corner and slammed on the mat with his fists. Bobby “The Brain” Heenan jumped onto the ring apron to argue with the referee, so Orton went over and grabbed him around the collar. Orton pulled Heenan through the ropes and set him up for a DDT, but Cole delivered a superkick to the back of Orton’s neck to stop him. He gave Orton an ushigoroshi then lowered his knee pad and hit him with a Boom! knee strike. Cole made the pin and got the win. (11:40) -- Winner by Pinfall: Adam Cole
WWE WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: Bianca Belair {c} vs. Ember Moon : Ember Moon had Bianca Belair in a Boston crab, but Belair powered up to a push-up position and crawled to the ropes. Moon climbed to the top turnbuckle. Belair lunged into the ropes to trip her up. Belair paused to take a breather, allowing Moon to get back to her feet. Belair went over and joined her on the top rope. She executed a Spanish fly and made the pin, but Moon kicked out at two. Belair lifted her into an inverted fireman’s carry. Moon broke free and executed a spinebuster. Moon went back to the top rope to attempted Eclipse, but Belair rolled out of the way. Belair hit her with a dropkick and then executed a K.O.D. She made the pin and got the win. (13:17) -- Winner by Pinfall: Bianca Belair
UWA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: FTR {c} vs. Harlem Heat : Booker T gave Cash Wheeler a roundhouse kick and then an axe kick. He followed it with a spin-a-roonie and tagged his brother. Stevie Ray put Wheeler in an elevated bearhug. Booker ran to the ropes, but Dax Harwood pulled don’t on the top rope, causing Booker to tumble out to the floor. Harwood jumped down and gave Booker a brainbuster on the floor. Stevie Ray dropped Wheeler and left the ring to chase after Harwood. Wheeler went to the ring apron and caught Stevie Ray with a diving forearm as he turned the corner. Wheeler and Harwood gave him a double suplex on the floor, then sent him into the ring. Wheeler tagged in Harwood, and together they executed the Big Rig. Harwood got the pin to retain the titles for his team. (16:31) -- Winners by Pinfall: FTR
HELL IN A CELL: The Undertaker vs. Sting : The Undertaker and Sting were brawling around on the floor when The Undertaker moved out of the way of a Stinger Splash in the corner of the cell. He got a table out and slid it into the ring. Seeing Sting’s open wound from slamming into the cell, The Undertaker throw big meat hooks at it. He took Sting into the ring and set up for a chokeslam, but Sting threw back elbows to break free. Sting dropkicked The Undertaker, who crawled to the corner to get up. Sting gave him a Stinger Splash and whipped him to the opposite corner, where he gave him another Stinger Splash. Sting brought The Undertaker out of the corner and gave him a Scorpion Death Drop onto a section of the ring steps. He made the cover. 1…2… kick out! Sting couldn’t believe it. He went and set up the table. When he turned around to go pick up The Undertaker, the Deadman sat up. Sting tried to get him with punches, but The Undertaker blocked and got Sting with his own. The Undertaker scooped him up and gave him snake eyes followed by a running big boot. The Undertaker picked him up and gave a Last Ride through the table. He made the cover. 1…2… kick out! The Undertaker couldn’t believe it. He looked at the steel steps, then down at Sting. He did the throat slit gesture, then brought Sting over to the side of the steps. The Undertaker got up on the section of steps, but Sting broke free from his grip and gave The Undertaker a dropkick to knock him off the steps. He got up and pounded his chest like King Kong. Sting hit The Undertaker with alternating punches and chops until he was backed up into the ropes and gave him a standing dropkick to send him over the top rope. The Undertaker landed on his feet. Sting climbed the turnbuckle and gave him a Plancha that knocked him into the side of the cell. Sting got out another table and slid it into the ring. He rolled The Undertaker into the ring and placed him on the table. Sting climbed the turnbuckle, shouted “Woo!” and went for the splash. The Undertaker got off the table and Sting went through it. The Undertaker picked up Sting and gave him a Tombstone onto the steps. He crossed Sting’s arms across his chest for the pin. 1…2…3! (26:05) -- Winner by Pinfall: The Undertaker
UWA UNIVERSAL MEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: Nick Aldis {c} vs. Brock Lesnar : After Kamille was banished from ringside, Aldis argued with the referee. Lesnar grabbed him from behind and executed a German suplex. He snapped off several more. He was ready to finish off Aldis. Lesnar lifted Aldis onto his shoulders but then saw “All Ego” Ethan Page and Scorpio Sky on the ring apron. Lesnar dropped Aldis to go after them. Sky got down, but Lesnar bieled Page over the ropes. Lesnar clubbed him a few times and gave him a F-5. Aldis tried to attack but Lesnar speared him. He made the pin, but Sky pulled the referee out of the ring. The referee barred him from ringside. As they argued on the floor, Lesnar saw Maryse Ouellet on the ring apron. It was a set up. The Miz – who hadn’t been seen in several months – entered the ring and hit Lesnar from behind with a chair. Lesnar stumbled for a moment but then turned around and glared at The Miz, who begged him off. Aldis crawled over and gave Lesnar a low blow. Lesnar bent over forward and The Miz hit him over the back of the head with the chair. Aldis executed a Treasure Chest on the chair. The Miz cleaned up the evidence and left. Aldis shouted at the referee to come back and he did. He made the 3-count. Aldis quickly grabbed his title belt and fled from the ring. The last scene of tonight’s broadcast saw Aldis and Kamille celebrating on the entrance ramp with The Miz, Maryse, and the Men of the Year. (11:18) -- Winner by Pinfall: Nick Aldis
