Tag title #1 contender match: SCU (1-2) vs. American Wolves (3-0)
The American Wolves defeat SCU in 8:34 after Edwards hits a superkick into a German suplex from Richards, pinning Kazarian.
The Hurricane (0-2) vs. Shawn Spears (0-1)
Spears gets the win in 5:04 after a C4.
Women’s gauntlet match -
Riho runs the gauntlet, from first to last, pinning Brandi last. Paige VanZant didn’t wrestle, as she was attacked by a disappointed Serena Deeb during her entrance and couldn’t compete. Deeb had just been DQ’d after refusing to break a hold on the ropes. She maintained that she didn’t know Riho was on the ropes and couldn’t hear the ref counting.
Double or Nothing main card
Live in Las Vegas, we get a panning shot of the crowd, with fireworks, before zooming in on Taz and Coach at the announce table.
Taz - “Good evening, and welcome to AEW Double or Nothing in Las Vegas! We have a great card for the night and a hot crowd! They’ve already seen a lot of great action tonight.”
Coach - “That’s right, Taz. In case you missed the buy-in — and I can’t imagine why you would have — we saw the American Wolves become the number one contenders to the tag team championships, and Shawn Spears and Riho both assert themselves in dominant fashion.”
Taz - “We will finally crown the first ever AEW World Champion. As a suplex machine myself, I have to find myself pulling for Jeff Cobb just a little bit.”
Coach - “I don’t know if you want to let Jeff Jarrett hear you say that too loudly. Moving on, we’ve got two huge tag team matches. The Steiners will defend the tag team championships against The New Day in a matchup between all-time great teams. Plus we have the next chapter in the rivalry between LAX and Los Parks.”
Taz - “That match should be fire. Also tonight, we have a cage match between Malakai Black and Cody Rhodes; an I Quit match between Dean Malenko and Matt Riddle; Jade Cargill defending the Women’s Championship against Michelle McCool and Gable Steveson taking on a motivated Brian Cage.”
Coach - “With that, let’s head to the ring to get the night started! Our first match is the tag team tables match between LAX and Los Parks!”
**A brief recap video showing the feud between the two stables from the last two months airs, including Los Parks kidnapping Konnan and costing LAX a shot at the tag team championships.**
Tables Match - LAX (Homicide and Hernandez) vs. Los Parks (L.A. Park and L.A. Park Jr.)
While Los Parks are making their entrance, Homicide and Hernandez run from the back and attack them. They brawl on the entrance ramp, with LAX having the upper hand. Eventually, Hernandez rolls Park into the ring and continues his control with a splash into the corner, then a clothesline and a body slam.
Outside the ring, Park Jr. starts to turn the tide on Homicide and Irish whips the smaller man into the barriers. He lifts Homicide up and drops him face first onto the barrier. As Park Jr. turns around to look toward the ring, Hernandez is running and jumps over the top rope into a suicide dive that takes Park Jr. out! All four men are recovering. Park Sr. is up in the ring. He sees the three outside the ring and climbs to the top rope. The three on the outside stand up and Park jumps off into a cross body block that knocks all three down.
Park gets up and looks under the ring for a table. He sets it up at ringside, and then goes to grab Homicide. Park lifts Homicide up into a powerbomb, but Hernandez stops it with a kick to LA Park’s gut. Park drops Homicide and Hernandez catches him, then swings Homicide around so that he kicks Park in the face. LAX then rolls into the ring and beckons the Parks into the ring. They walk around to opposite sides of the ring and then slide in.
LAX is on them right away. Homicide hits a Falcon Arrow suplex; Hernandez hits a brainbuster. And they’re in control for a little bit. Hernandez bear hugs Park Sr.; Homicide locks in a sleeper on Park Jr. Eventually, Junior is able to stand up out of the sleeper hold and snap mares Homicide over his shoulder. He then cuts Hernandez’ legs out from under him. Junior drop-kicks a charging Homicide; Park Sr. hits Hernandez with a spear! Park Jr. lifts Homicide up into a powerbomb position and walks to the side near the table. Before he can follow through, Slice Boogie and Rivera run to ringside. Boogie hops up on the apron and pushes against Homicide’s back, which helps him land on Park Jr.
It turns into a four-on-two assault by LAX on the Parks. Hijo de la Park runs out to aid his relatives and it’s a big brawl in the ring! Now Park Jr. lifts someone up and tosses him over the ropes and through the table! But it’s Slice Boogie, so the match is still on. Hijo and Rivera start brawling, and they go through the crowd. So we’re back to two-on-two. Hernandez slides a table into the ring and sets it up. Park Jr. and Hernandez spill to the outside, while Homicide and Park Sr. fight in the ring. Spear to Homicide! Park lifts Homicide and puts him on the table, and goes to the top rope!
Park jumps off the rope, but before he hits Homicide, Hernandez has slid into the ring and pulls Homicide off the table. Park Sr. crashes through the table, giving LAX the win at 18:12. They celebrate the victory, with a still-dazed Slice Boogie.
**While the crews clean the ring, we get a recap of the Cage-Steveson setup. Brian Cage brutally attacked Olympic gold medalist Lou Banach in Iowa, which prompted Steveson to formally challenge Cage to a match at Double or Nothing. Earlier this week on Dynamite, the two came face-to-face and exchanged blows before Cage rolled out of the ring.**
Gable Steveson (1-0) vs. Brian Cage (2-1)
The bell rings and Gable goes straight for a double leg takedown, which Cage blocks by extending his legs backward. Cage wraps his arms around Gable and lifts him up into a powerbomb — and tosses him straight into a turnbuckle! Gable looks shaken. Cage moves quickly over to Gable and picks him up into the F’n’5! Instead of going for a pin, Cage lifts Gable up into vertical suplex position and hits the Drill Claw! This brings up the pinfall. 1…2…NO! GABLE STEVESON KICKS OUT! Cage is stunned and complains to the ref.
Cage turns around and goes to pick Gable up for another F’n’5, but Gable recovers and elbows Cage in the head until he gets off his shoulders, goes to Cage’s back and hits a belly-to-back suplex. Gable sits Cage up and locks in a full nelson. Cage struggles to his feet, but Gable keeps the full nelson locked in. He hits a Dragon Suplex on Cage, which makes the crowd erupt! Gable pops up and waits for Cage to stand. He goes for the Olympic Slam, but Cage grabs the ropes. The ref starts counting to 5, and Cage low blows Steveson while the ref isn’t looking!
Cage hits a Northern Lights Suplex, then heads to the top rope! He jumps off and hits a flying elbow drop! Pinfall. 1…2…NO! Gable kicks out again. Cage starts stomping on Gable until the man on the ground grabs his ankle and twists. He pulls Cage down and locks in the Ankle Lock! Grapevines it in! Will Cage tap? He gets to the ropes! Gable legs go and waits for Cage to stand up. He slips behind Cage and hits the Olympic Slam! Pinfall. 1…2…3…Gable Steveson pins Brian Cage at 9:34. Gable celebrates the win, then walks to the back. In the ring, Cage is upset. He goes to the ref and grabs him by the collar. He goes to lift the ref up in a powerbomb, then thinks better of it. He puts the ref down and apologizes. As Cage starts to walk away, he has second thoughts and hits a disco lariat on the ref. He turns the ref over and hits the curb stomp on the ref! Cage walks out as medical professionals attend to the ref.

Coach is backstage with Jeff Cobb.
Coach - “Tonight we will crown the first AEW World Champion. I am standing with Jeff Cobb, who will face off with Jeff Jarrett later tonight. Mr. Cobb, do you have any final words to share before the match?”
Cobb - “Thanks, Coach. I’m going to let my work in the ring speak for itself. Unlike Jeff Jarrett, I don’t need to rely on sneak attacks, smashed guitars and lackeys to win. I’m going to prove tonight that I am the best wrestler in AEW, and I will walk out of here as AEW World Champion.”

A package airs that recaps Malakai Black and Cody Rhodes’ feud to this point, from Black’s continued sneak attacks. To their match on Dynamite that saw a masked House of Black interfere with mist. The reveal of the House of Black members, including The Butcher, the Blade and Billy Kidman, then Cody Rhodes defeating the Butcher to earn a rematch with Malakai Black. He chose a cage match.
Cage Match (pinfall, submission or escape)
Malakai Black vs. Cody Rhodes
As the bell rings, the competitors stare across the ring at each other and start to circle around the ring, neither wanting to make the first move. Cody finally starts walking toward Malakai, only for Black to circle away with a smile on his face. Cody stops chasing and yells, “fight me!” and turns his back. Black moves quickly toward Cody for a clothesline, but Cody does a Pele kick to Black, knocking him down. Black rises and Cody dropkicks him down. Up again into another dropkick. Up again, and this time Malakai backs out and dodges the kick.
Malakai moves to Cody and locks in a side headlock. Cody tries a back-body drop, but Malakai rolls through into a side headlock takedown. Cody scissors his legs around Black’s head to break out of the hold and they’re standing up and they get face-to-face. They exchange punches until Black blocks a punch, then Irish whips Cody to the ropes and hits a spinning backfist. He picks Cody up and whips him into the corner, where he works on Cody’s stomach. Cody reverses and puts Malakai in the corner, then goes up top for 10 punches. Black stops him on punch 6, and powerbombs Cody to the mat.
When Cody gets up, Malakai goes for the Black Mass, but Cody ducks, goes to Malakai’s back and hits a Russian Leg Sweep; lifts Malakai up and hits a DDT. Cody rolls his kneepad down, bounces off the ropes and hits his exposed knee on Black’s face. Cody lifts Black up into position for the CrossRhodes, but Black shoves out, bounces off the ropes and hits a jumping knee strike onto Cody’s face. DDT to Cody, then Black sits on him and starts wailing on Cody’s head. He lifts Cody up, grabs the back of his head and tosses Cody face first into the cage. Cody stumbles back into a Black Mass! Malakai goes for the pin. 1…2…NO! Cody kicks out of the Black Mass!
Malakai goes to the corner and takes off the turnbuckle pad. He lifts a still-dazed Cody up and whips him to the corner chest first. Cody is hurt, and Malakai hits a belly-to-back suplex for another 2-count. He lifts Cody again and tries an Irish whip into the exposed turnbuckle, but it’s reversed and Malakai goes back-first into the buckle. As he stumbles away, Cody springboards off the ropes and hits the Cody Cutter! 1…Malakai kicks out!
They stand and exchange blows. Cody works Malakai over toward the corner with the exposed turnbuckle. Malakai reverses him, grabs Cody by the back of his head and smashes him into the exposed turnbuckle. Once. Twice. Three times, and Cody is busted open! Malakai drops Cody, then spreads some of Cody’s blood on his chest. Malakai stands with his foot on Cody’s chest, and Cody kicks out barely at 2.
Malakai looks frustrated and Cody is barely moving. Black decides to climb out of the cage. He’s three-fourths of the way up when Cody gets to his feet. Cody climbs after Black and starts punching him in the midsection. Black loses his grip on the cage as Cody pulls him off and crashing to the mat. Cody moves over to stand on the top turnbuckle and waits for Malakai to stand, hitting a cross body block. Cody hits a Tiger Driver ‘98 and goes for the pin! 1…2…NO! Malakai kicks out.
Cody gets Malakai into position for the CrossRhodes as the other 3 members of the House of Black walk out from backstage. He stares at them, blood running down his face, and hits his move. 1…2…NO! Another kickout! Cody is beside himself and starts stomping on Malakai. He lifts him into another CrossRhodes, and hits two of them consecutively. Instead of covering Black, Cody decides to climb the cage from the corner. As he gets two the top, the House of Black members congregate below where he’s going to climb down.
Cody stands on the top of the cage and looks down at them, then back at Malakai laying in the middle of the ring, and then out to the crowd. He flips off the Butcher, the Blade and Kidman to a huge cheer from the crowd. Then he leaps off the top of the cage into a moonsault that hits Black perfectly. But it’s taken a lot out of Cody, as he rolls on the mat, clutching his stomach. Finally, Cody crawls over to Malakai and drapes his arm over him. 1…2…NO! Black barely gets his shoulder up.
The two competitors eventually get back to their feet and grapple with each other. Black gets another side headlock takedown and holds Cody down. He makes eye contact with the Blade, who slides something in the ring. Black grabs it, and it’s a pair of handcuffs! Black digs one end of the handcuffs into Cody’s open wound, causing Cody agony. He is able to drag Cody over to the corner, where he cuffs Cody’s wrist and attaches it to the cage. This wakes Cody up as he grabs after Malakai. But Black backs away. He feints hitting the Black Mass, but backs off and just smiles at Cody. Black walks to the other side of the ring and climbs the cage. There’s nothing Cody can do except look on in fury. Malakai smiles back at Cody before finishing his escape. Malakai Black defeats Cody Rhodes at 26:34 by escaping the cage. Cody looks dejected as the House of Black walks to the back, and officials undo the handcuffs.

We are backstage with Tony Khan. “I wanted to take just a moment to thank all of the fans in attendance and watching around the world! This is All Elite Wrestling’s first pay-per-view, and I’m determined to make it a night to remember. We’ve got a surprise debut later tonight, as well as three huge title matches still to come.
“I also wanted to officially reveal the AEW World Championship belt, which will be awarded tonight to either Jeff Cobb or Jeff Jarrett!” Khan opens a briefcase and shows off the belt.
“I do have one other order of business that I just can’t wait until this week’s Dynamite to take care of. For the most part, I’ve been hands-off when it comes to doling out discipline in AEW. However, I can’t let what Brian Cage did tonight stand. You can’t willfully harm an official in our ring. Brian, you are suspended indefinitely and barred from any AEW event.”

A brief package recapping the Steiner Bros.’ Tag Team Title win airs, followed by the New Day earning a title shot and the two teams’ video game tournament that almost ended with Scott attacking Xavier before Rick pulled him away.
AEW Tag Team Championship Match
Steiner Bros. © vs. The New Day
Rick Steiner and Xavier Woods start the match. Woods extends his hand and Rick shakes it as the bell rings and they tie up. Rick overpowers Woods and shoves him down. They tie up again, and Rick shoves Woods to the ground. Woods responds with a couple of quick kicks to Rick’s stomach, then Rick catches his foot — only for Woods to hit an enziguri that brings Rick to his knees. Xavier hits a quick DDT and goes for a cover that just gets 1. Woods tags Kofi in, and Kingston jumps to the top rope and springboards into a crossbody block.
Rick catches Kofi and hits a fallaway slam. Kofi gets up, and Rick knocks him down with a running shoulder block, then tags Scott in. Scott takes control with a gorilla press slam, then hits a delayed elbow drop, followed by a few push-ups. This lets Kofi recover, and he tags Woods back in. He chops the back of Scott’s legs, bringing the big man down. He jumps on Scotts back and locks in a sleeper hold. After a short while, Steiner stands and drops back onto Woods to break the hold. Woods runs toward Scott, and Scott hits him with a tilt-a-whirl slam. He then hits a series of suplexes on Woods — belly-to-back; northern lights; belly-to-belly — then moves and locks in the Steiner Recliner. He wears Woods down, and Woods is almost out until Kofi dropkicks Scott to break it up.
This brings Rick into the ring, and the Steiners briefly double-team Kofi until Woods recovers. Rick and Xavier spill to the outside, while Kofi and Scott fight in the ring. The ref starts counting Woods out. He gets to 7 when Woods hits a shining wizard on Rick, and he slides back in the ring to help Kofi out against Scott. They hit a double Russian Leg Sweep, following it up with an elbow drop by Kofi and leg drop by Xavier. Kofi gets tagged in officially and continues the offensive with the Boom Drop.
Kofi goes to the top rope and hits a double foot stomp on Scott’s chest. Goes for the pin and gets a 1. Kofi works Scott into the corner and gets him to the top rope. Kofi tries for a hurricanrana, but it’s reversed into a powerbomb by Steiner! Scott dives off the middle rope and hits an elbow drop. He drags Kofi over to his corner and tags Rick back in. Scott holds Kofi in the electric chair position and Rick hits the diving bulldog — the Steinerizer! Rick covers Kofi, while Scott heads off Woods. 1…2…3! And the Steiners retain the tag team championships in 12:33! After the match, the two teams shake hands, and The New Day raise the Steiners’ hands.

Jeff Jarrett is backstage with Shawn Spears by his side.
Jarrett - “Jeff Cobb, your speech was really cute earlier today. You talk about letting your work in the ring speak for itself? The only work in the ring that means a damn is whoever has his hand raised at the end. And, tonight, Double J is going to have his hand raised and that AEW World Heavyweight Championship belt clasped around my waist!”

Next is a video promo recapping Matt Riddle and Dean Malenko’s feud - Malenko rolling up Riddle during the first Dynamite; Riddle breaking out of the Cloverleaf and defeating Malenko a month later, followed by Malenko’s post-match beatdown of Matt. Riddle then challenged Malenko to an “I Quit” Match. The video ends with Malenko holding the Cloverleaf on Riddle at the end of this week’s Dynamite.
“I Quit” Match
Matt Riddle vs. Dean Malenko
The bell rings and Riddle runs straight toward Malenko, who ducks out of the ring. The crowd chants for Riddle, as he beckons Malenko back in. In the ring, they lock up and Malenko maneuvers to Riddle’s back with a wristlock. Matt twists out and tries to Irish Whip Dean to the corner, but Dean hangs on and drags Matt down, and locks in an arm bar.
They mat-wrestle for a couple of minutes, exchanging holds from arm bars, to headlocks; Malenko locks in a Boston Crab and holds onto it for about a minute before letting go and stomping on Riddle’s back. He gets Riddle over to the corner and lifts him to the top rope. Malenko hits the Exploding Gutbuster off the ropes, and Riddle is writhing in pain. Malenko immediately goes for the Texas Cloverleaf, but Riddle rolls over and kicks him off.
Matt gets up and hits a running knee strike, into a bulldog, then an armbar. He elbows Malenko in the head and goes to lock in the Bromission! Dean wiggles out and knees Matt in the head. He lifts Riddle up into a gutwrench powerbomb, then locks in a bow-and-arrow - continuing to work on Riddle’s back. He lets go of the hold, then lifts Riddle up into a brainbuster, but Matt flips behind and hits a German suplex! Malenko rises and Riddle hits the Bro-to-Sleep into another German suplex. Matt bounces off the ropes and hits the Bro-ton, which also aggravates his back.
They both get up. Dean kicks Matt in the gut and hits the Double Underhook Powerbomb, then locks in the Texas Cloverleaf. He yells at Matt to “quit!” Matt replies “Never!” and Dean leans back further. After more than a minute, Dean gets frustrated and breaks the hold. He goes out of the ring and gets a steel chair. Back in the ring, he slams the top of the chair on Riddle’s back repeatedly, then locks in the Cloverleaf again; this time, Riddle is able to grab the ropes, which gives him leverage to break the hold. Riddle pulls himself to the outside to recover, but Dean follows.
Dean whips Matt into the barrier, then they spill over into the crowd to brawl. Riddle dodges a clothesline and hits a third German suplex. He lifts Dean up and hits the BroDerek on the concrete! Matt grabs a mic and asks “Are you ready to give up, bro?” and Dean just shakes his head. They brawl back to ringside and into the ring. Malenko DDTs Riddle and goes for the Cloverleaf again, but Matt rolls over and kicks him off. He runs to the turnbuckle and hits the Floating Bro, followed up by a Bicycle Knee Strike to Malenko. And Riddle locks in the Bromission in the middle of the ring!
Malenko struggles to break the hold, but Riddle just cinches it in further. Dean tries wiggling out, but Riddle elbows him in the head and strengthens the hold. The ref brings the microphone over, and Dean finally mutters “I quit” at 28:15. Riddle breaks the hold and the two lay on the mat, exhausted, while the crowd chants for Riddle. He stands and waves to the crowd with a smile as he limps to the back.

AEW World Championship Match
Jeff Jarrett (4-0) w/ Shawn Spears vs. Jeff Cobb (4-0)

Cobb stands up out of the sleeper and rams Jarrett into the turnbuckle to break the hold. He climbs on Cobb and starts punching him. 1…2…3…4…5…6…7…8…Cobb stops it at 8, then shoves up and knocks Jarrett off the ropes and spilling to the floor! Spears goes over to check on Jarrett. Cobb beckons Jarrett to get in the ring, but Jarrett wants him to back off before he’ll enter the ring. Cobb acquiesces and Jarrett slides in.
Jarrett runs toward Cobb with a lariat, but Cobb stands his ground and Jarrett bounces off. Cobb headbutts Jarrett, then hits a belly-to-belly. He picks Jarrett up and hits a gutwrench suplex; keeps the hold and hits another one; and then a third. Cobb covers Jarrett and gets a 1-count. Cobb keeps on the offensive and lifts Jarrett into a vertical suplex position and holds. Holds. Holds. And drops back with the delayed vertical suplex. Cobb hits the Slamfest - a standing moonsault, followed by a standing shooting star press. And covers again. 1…2…No! Jarrett kicks out!
When Jarrett rises, Cobb grabs him and whips him to the ropes to set up the Tour of Islands, but Jarrett bails to the outside for another breather as Spears checks with him. Jarrett rolls back in and hits a quick dropkick on Cobb. Snap suplex onto Cobb; then a swinging neckbreaker. Jarrett goes for a Figure Four. And he locks it in! He leans back to put more leverage on Cobb, who won’t give in. Finally, Cobb turns over and breaks the hold. He stands up slowly, and Jarrett cuts his legs out from under him. He locks in another Figure Four and holds it in. This time, Cobb is able to drag Jarrett to the ropes, where he breaks the hold.
Jarrett slides behind a hobbled Cobb, and he hits the Stroke! Jarrett covers. 1…2…NO! Cobb kicks out, and Jarrett is beside himself. He slides out of the ring and searches under the ring for his guitar. He gets in the ring and goes to hit Cobb with the guitar, but the ref gets in the way and wards him off. While the ref is distracted with Jarrett, Shawn Spears slides in the ring with the championship and tries to smash Cobb with the belt - but Cobb dodges it and hits a belly-to-belly suplex, sending Spears rolling out of the ring.
Jarrett approaches Cobb and goes for a double-leg takedown, but Cobb dodges it. He grabs Jarrett by the throat. Chokeslam! He lifts Jarrett and whips him to the ropes and hits the Tour of the Islands! He goes for the cover. 1…2…Spears pulls the ref from the ring! Cobb is upset in the ring and yells at Spears. While the ref is chewing out Spears and tells him to go to the back, someone from the stands has entered the ring! Cobb turns and sees the man, who hits him with a huge clothesline! The camera gets a better look at the man -
Coach - “Is that…That’s John Bradshaw Layfield! What the hell is he doing here!?”
Taz - “I don’t know, Coach. And I don’t like it. But not for nothing, that was a Hell of a clothesline!”
JBL slides out of the ring as Jarrett hits a second Stroke on Cobb and the ref is re-entering the ring. Jarrett goes for the pin. 1…2…3! Match time: 21:33. Jeff Jarrett is the AEW World Champion!
