Live from Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Fla.
AEW Commentary Team - Taz and Jonathan Coachman (Coach also handles interviewing duties)
We get the AEW Dynamite logo on the screen, then cut to owner Tony Khan standing in the middle of the ring with a microphone.
Tony - “Good evening and welcome to the beginning of a new era in professional wrestling. The All Elite Era!” Cheers from the crowd. “I am extremely excited and honored to bring professional wrestling back to TNT. We have a tremendous and talented roster. During the next few weeks, we will reveal multiple championship belts and determine our AEW Tag Team, Women’s and Men’s World Champions.” At this time, “My World” hits and out walks Jeff Jarrett, carrying his guitar over his head. He walks with purpose to the ring and demands a microphone from ringside.
Jarrett - “Tony, I’ll save you a little bit of time. You’ve got your champion standing right in front of you. His name is J-E-Double-F J-A-Double R-E-Double T!”
Tony - “Jeff, this isn’t your daddy’s promotion. You can’t just walk in here and make yourself a champion.” Jarrett smiles and says something about the pot calling the kettle black before Tony continues. “In fact, I think you’ll start at the same place as everyone else here: The bottom. I hope you’re ready to fight, because the first match in All Elite Wrestling is Jeff Jarrett versus Peter Avalon.”
This leaves Jarrett seething. “Chilled Champaign” hits and out walks “Pretty” Peter Avalon in his robe, playing up to the crowd.
Match 1 - Jeff Jarrett vs. Peter Avalon
Avalon runs toward Jarrett with a clothesline. Jarrett ducks, moves behind Peter and hits The Stroke immediately. He gets the pinfall and wins in 6 seconds.
After the match, Jarrett grabs his guitar and starts to walk out of the ring. Peter Avalon is up and taps Jarrett on the shoulder. Double J turns around and smashes his guitar over Peter’s head, then walks out, leaving Avalon laying in the ring as we cut to commercial.
**Next week on Dynamite, Jeff Cobb takes on Brian Cage, and The American Wolves face off with SoCal Uncensored**
We come back from the break to find Matt Riddle riding his scooter backstage, whistling the tune of “Whistle While You Work.” He comes across Jeff Jarrett, who’s walking angrily toward his car.
Riddle - “Mr. Double J, Bro! Man, I used to love watching you when I was a kid, man! It’s such a bummer about your guitar, man. You’re such a great singer! I’ll tell you what I’m going to do. I’m going to set up a GoFundMe to buy you a new guitar! How does that sound?” Jarrett just scowls at Riddle, gets in his car and drives away. Riddle smiles his wide grin and waves at Jarrett.
Match 2 - The New Day (Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston) vs. The Butcher & the Blade
The New Day defeats The Butcher & The Blade in 7:08 when Kofi Kingston pins The Blade after hitting the UpUpDownDown with Woods.
After the commercial, “Kingdom” hits the loudspeakers and “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes emerges to a loud pop. He walks to the ring and grabs a mic.
Cody - “It feels great to be out here in front of a rabid fanbase. We have a lot of exciting things in store for All Elite Wrestling, and I can’t wait to get in the ring. Unlike Jeff Jarrett, I don’t expect anything to get handed to me. I will start the same way as everybody else in this company. I’ll start the same way my dad — the son of a plumber — did. From the bottom.” The lights cut out. When they turn back on, Malakai Black is standing behind Cody. Rhodes turns around and walks straight into a kick to the head. Black stands over Cody with a smile on his face.
Match 3 - Paige Van Zant vs. Jaime Hayter
Paige Van Zant defeats Jaime Hayter in 4:32 with an arm bar.
**Gable Steveson is in the crowd and is announced as All Elite.**
Match 4 - Matt Riddle vs. Dean Malenko
Matt Riddle locks in the Bro-Mission, which Malenko reverses into a small package to score the pinfall victory at 13:14. After the match, the competitors shake hands.
We are backstage with Cesar Duran, surrounded by Los Parks.
Cesar - “I am backstage here with LA Park, LA Park Jr. and Hijo de la Park, to put the rest of All Elite Wrestling on notice. Los Parks are here to win championships and advance the lucha agenda. Tonight, Jurassic Express is just the first speed bump on our way toward tag team supremacy.”
Match 5 - Scorpio Sky vs. Eddie Edwards
Scorpio Sky wins in 12:54 after hitting the Ace of Spades
**A promo airs for a special edition of AEW Dynamite, scheduled for April 27 — AEW presents Dynamite: Fyter Fest! Tag team champions will be crowned and the two AEW World Championship contenders will be determined.**
Main Event - Jurassic Express vs. Los Parks
Los Parks win in 21:33 after Hijo de la Park hits Marko Stunt with the Spanish Fly while Luchasaurus and LA Park are brawling on the outside and Jungle Boy has LA Park Jr. locked in the Snare Trap. Jungle Boy is unable to get back in the ring to break up the pinfall.
Following the match, Los Parks celebrate in the ring when the LAX theme song hits. Out walk Slice Boogie and Rivera of 5150, alongside Homicide and Hernandez of LAX, and Konnan with a microphone.
Konnan - “Odelay! Arriba La raza! Congratulations on your win, Los Parks and Cesar Duran. We heard you talking earlier about your plans to rule the tag team division, and we wanted to put out a little notice of our own. We are LAX, the Latin American Exchange. Between 5150, and the team of Homicide and Hernandez, you are looking at the first AEW tag team champions!”
The show ends with the members of the LAX stable standing on the entrance stage and staring down Los Parks in the ring.
