We open this week’s show outside a hospital. Rey Mysterio Jr. walks out on crutches, alongside his friend, Eddie Guerrero, who is pleased that Mysterio is being released. Then, he notes how the last time he had to come here, he never made it inside, a callback to when Jake Roberts kidnapped him before he could enter the building. Guerrero got revenge on Roberts, but the man who injured him, necessitating that visit to the hospital was Pentagon DARK. He never did pay him back for that, and muses that he probably should. But first, he wants to do his friend a favour, which is why he’s going to ask Antonio Cueto for a match against one of the members of PSE next week. Mysterio tells him not to worry because he has bigger things to focus on, namely challenging Prince Puma for the Lucha Underground Championship. Guerrero asks him who will get retribution for him. Mysterio says he’s going to do it himself after he assembles a team of luchadors that the sports entertainers simply cannot beat, which is why he needs Eddie to take him to Mexico. Eddie’s up for the road trip. He helps Mysterio into his El Camino convertible, pumps the hydraulic wheel lifts and then drives off.

Before our first match could begin, the Pinnacle of Sports Entertainment came to the ring and said that they weren’t going to allow the Cueto Cup tournament to continue. They re-iterated their claim from the week before that the tournament was a sham and that none of the luchadores in it deserved to compete for the Mash-Up Wrestling Men’s World Championship. Finally, Prince Puma, the Lucha Underground Champion appeared and said the entire group had no place doing what they’re doing. They challenged him to come to the ring to stop them. Puma said he knew the numbers weren’t in favour, so he wouldn’t be going in there without back up. However, before they could claim that he’s too scared, he said he’d make them an offer. If they leave the ring and let the tournament continue without interference, he’ll defend his Lucha Underground Championship against one of them next week. The three of them talked it over and decided to title shots for all of them. Puma said he could arrange that because none of them were going to beat him anyway. That upset the PSE members. Puma said that there was one catch. If any of the PSE so much as even stepped foot at ringside during a future Cueto Cup match, it cancel the contract and anyone yet to receive a title shot wouldn’t get it. The PSE decided it was a deal, and Roman Reigns stepped forward to say that he was going to take the first shot and win the title.

Pete Dunne vs. Sammy Guevara
FIRST ROUND ANTONIO CUETO LUCHADORES CUP TOURNAMENT MATCH
Pete Dunne vs. Sammy Guevara
This second week of round robin action started off with a bang. Dunne and Guevara went a solid 15-minutes with multiple near falls. Guevara did many death-defying things such a springboard shooting star plancha, an over-the-top-rope running moonsault plancha, and multiple moonsaults in the ring ending with a running shooting star press. He nearly won the match after executing an inverted frankensteiner and a back suplex transitioned into a falling DDT. Dunne was the type of luchador who could take all of this and then ask, “is that all you’ve got?” He fired back with offense befitting of his “Bruiserweight” moniker. His slingshot ring apron DDT was devastating, as was his snap release German suplex on the floor. He also executed a big moonsault plancha off the top turnbuckle. Back in the ring, he nearly won the match on a vertical suplex sit-out powerbomb and a Michinoku Driver. When the match finally ended, it came after Guevara crashed into the mat on a shooting star press attempt. When they both got up, Dunne took Guevara down with a step-up enzuigiri and then executed an X-Plex and made the pin for 1…2… kick out! As he tried to pick up Guevara, he was pulled into a small package. 1…2… kick out! When they got up, Guevara caught Dunne on the chin with a superkick. He went to the top rope and attempted a diving crossbody but Dunne slugs him out of the air with a 4-Star forearm. Then he slugged Jake Hager off the ring apron and into the front row with a hard running forearm smash before grabbing Guevara and executing the Bitter End! 1-2-3!
WINNER : Pete Dunne

He executed an inverted atomic drop, followed by a single-leg dropkick and then a running senton. After that, there was a powerbomb into a single-leg crab, transitioned into a STF. In the corner, he executed the CCS Enzuigiri and then took him out of the corner with a Uranage. Joe was back in business, but Cuerno had a comeback of his own. Mustafa Ali vs. Braun Strowman
FIRST ROUND ANTONIO CUETO LUCHADORES CUP TOURNAMENT MATCH
Mustafa Ali vs. Braun Strowman
It was a tough first round draw for Mustafa Ali. The Monster Among Men is a unique combination of size, power and speed, the likes of which only comes along once in a generation. He used his size, power and speed to run around the ring and send Ali flying into the second row of ring seats with a pounce. Strowman collected Ali, took him into the ring and gave him a biel throw across the ring. When Ali got up in the corner, Strowman ran in for a body avalanche, but Ali slipped through the ropes and connected with a rope-assited enzuigiri as he slammed into the turnbuckles. Ali went to the top rope and executed a diving tornado DDT. He pinned for a 2-count. Strowman being too big to drag into the corner, Ali decided to go to the top rope and try for a regular 450-degree splash, but he landed on Strowman’s knees. Right away after, Strowman scooped him up and gave him the powerslam to get the win.

FIRST ROUND ANTONIO CUETO LUCHADORES CUP TOURNAMENT MATCH
Aero Star vs. Drago
FIRST ROUND ANTONIO CUETO LUCHADORES CUP TOURNAMENT MATCH
Aero Star vs. Drago
It seems that these long-time Super Friends were friends no more. Drago was brought to the ring by Kobra Moon, who had him bound by a large metal collar to a leash made of chains. When she removed the chains, Drago stood still, as if he was studying his opponent. Aero Star tried shaking his hand, but Drago didn’t react. Aero Star appeared to be trying to get him to recall their friendship. As he did this, Kobra Moon shouted at Drago to remember who he is now, and who he always has been. When Aero Star got too close, Drago struck with some stiff right hands.
Like that, they were off. It was pure lucha libre, with plenty of arm drags, hurricanranas, headscissor takedown variations, dragon screw leg whips, and quick pinfall attempts and reversals. Drago flew out of the ring onto Aero Star with a topé suicida and a springboard corkscrew plancha. Aero Star flew out of the ring onto Drago with a step-up to the middle rope corkscrew moonsault plancha, and a springboard shooting star press. As they passed the 10-minute mark, Aero Star went for an imploding 450-degree splash, but Drago put his knees up to block it. Then, he went for a la magistral pin, which Aero Star kicked out of. After a strike combo consisting of punches and kicks, Drago ran to the ropes. Aero Star went for a dropkick, but Drago clung to the top rope to avoid it. When Aero Star tried to get up, Drago executed a running blockbuster DDT and pinned him to get the win.
After the match, Kobra Moon came back into the ring to put Drago in his collar. He resisted. She slapped him and Aero Star, who’d got up by then, came over to defend his friend, but then his friend spat red mist in his eyes. Kobra Moon took the opportunity to kick Aero Star below the belt and then give him a DDT. After that, she put Drago in his collar and led him away from the ring.
WINNER : Drago

Angelo Dawkins vs. Chris Jericho
FIRST ROUND ANTONIO CUETO LUCHADORES CUP TOURNAMENT MATCH
Angelo Dawkins vs. Chris Jericho
The veteran, Chris Jericho, used his lucha acumen to help him get an early lead, but his bigger opponent, Dawkins, threw his weight around to take the advantage with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex, a pounce and a spinebuster. He gave Jericho some stinger splashes in opposite corners of the ring. Unbeknownst to the referee, Jake Hager removed a turnbuckle pad, and later on, when Dawkins went back to that well, he hit the exposed turnbuckle. Stumbling out of the corner in a daze, he was in prime position to be served the Judas Effect. One 3-count later and Le Champion was moving on to the next round.
WINNER : Chris Jericho

FIRST ROUND ANTONIO CUETO LUCHADORES CUP TOURNAMENT MATCH
Mil Muertes vs. Andrade Cien Almas
FIRST ROUND ANTONIO CUETO LUCHADORES CUP TOURNAMENT MATCH
Mil Muertes vs. Andrade Cien Almas
Our main event saw the in-ring return of Mil Muertes. It was his first match sense Ultima Lucha Tres. He didn’t appear to have any signs of ring rust. He dominated for the first few minutes begin, but Zelina Vega inserting herself into the match allowed Andrade Cien Almas to mount a comeback. He executed a variety of moves focused on weakening Mil Muertes’ left arm, stomping on it, kicking it, manipulating it. It was all in preparation for his hammerlock DDT, a.k.a. La Sombra. Mil Muertes didn’t allow this drag on too long, though. He used his power to fight back. And when Almas tried to escape the ring to break his momentum, Mil Muertes went to the top turnbuckle and executed a plancha on him. After whipping Almas into the retaining wall of the high-rise bleachers, Mil Muertes was flipped on his back when Vega jumped off the ring apron and gave him a diving hurricanrana. After that, Almas faked a front kick and landed a discus back elbow to Mil Muertes before sending him into the ring and then executing a diving cross body off the top turnbuckle into a lateral press for a long 2-count.
They entered a sequence of trading moves and close pinfalls with Almas executing a springboard dragonrana, then Mil Muertes executing a snap powerslam, then Almas executing an inverted tornado DDT, then Mil Muertes connecting with a stiff right fist as a counter to a diving attack, then Almas shoving Mil Muertes into a tree of woe to block a superplex before executing a diving double foot stomp on him, then Mil Muertes getting out of the way of a running double-knee smash to the face and executing a 180-degree spinning chokeslam. All these moves were preceded by pinfall attempts that only earned 2-counts.
Later, Almas got Mil Muertes onto his shoulders and executed a forward fireman’s carry slam near the corner, which he followed up with a split-legged corkscrew senton and made the pin. Mil Muertes kicked out. When he picked him up and applied the hammerlock as the set up to La Sambra, Mil Muertes countered with a northern lights suplex. When they got up, Mil Muertes absorbed an enzuigiri kick and then fell forward to the mat, while leveling Almas with a stiff clothesline. When they got up, they traded blows. Almas reversed an Irish whip, sending Mil Muertes into the corner. Then he charged at him, but Mil Muertes burst out of the corner and hit Almas like bus with the Reaper’s Trident.
As he made the cover, Zelina Vega distracted the referee. When Mil Muertes got up, he saw Catrina standing on the ring apron on a different side of the ring. Sliding into the ring from behind, Damien Priest struck Mil Muertes in the back of the neck and on a calf muscle with a nightstick. Then, he gave Mil Muertes the Reckoning. After that, Almas picked up Mil Muertes and gave him La Sombra just to be sure he’d stay down. 1…2…3!
WINNER : Andrade Cien Almas

In the Oval Office, POTUS places a call to Agent VKM. He asks for a status update. Agent VKM tells him that things couldn’t be better right now. Now only are his field agents the Trios Champions, they’ve negotiated a way for all of them to get opportunities to challenge Prince Puma for the Lucha Underground Championship. POTUS is pleased. That gives them three ties. Really, they should only need one (because sports entertainers are better than luchadores). He can’t wait until the championship is delivered to him. Meanwhile, he’s had a briefing on something called the Gauntlet of the Gods. Apparently, this is an amazing, beautiful weapon of mass destruction. He’s been told it has the power to vaporize human beings with a single touch. Agent VKM knows of the weapon through reports from his agents in the field. POTUS says he wants Agent VKM’s unit to capture the Gauntlet and use it to eliminate the scourge of lucha libre once and for all. Agent VKM says that his wish is my command.
