ECW Hardcore TV - Moving to The Paramount Network! (12/10/19)
"Welcome to the new and improved ECW! But it seems we have a new threat.."
We are welcomed to the usual opening of Hardcore TV by Tony Schiavone and Joel Gertner; but they clearly put over the fact that this show opened up with Contra Unit instead of the Hardcore TV intro. Schiavone puts over the fact that Jacob Fatu and his pack of hooligans have banded together to take over Hardcore TV; now that Fatu is the ECW World Champion, having beat Joey Janela on the Halloween special of ECW Hardcore TV. With ECW finally back on TV, Schiavone is excited to get back to calling some amazing matches!
Tyson Kidd vs Teddy Hart
Before this match; a video plays backstage earlier before the show started with a dispute between Kidd and Hart. Tyson says Teddy is a failure to the Hart Family and despite not being a formal member of the family he's gonna teach him some respect and what the family is all about. That's entirely this match; as Tyson Kidd makes his debut and works over some submissions and stretches Teddy out. In the middle of the match; after Teddy gains advantage following a distraction by Brian Pillman Jr that starts to give Tyson the opening to speed up and hit some faster moves. After reversing an attempt at a powerbomb Tyson drops Teddy down and locks him into a sharpshooter! Tyson almost has the submission if it isn't for Davey Boy Smith Jr nailing him with a vicious clothesline; near taking his head off. The match is over and 2/3 of the ECW World Tag Team Champions are beating the piss out of a defenseless Tyson Kidd until their challengers; Public Enemy come running down the ring with chairs! The Hart Foundation flee away and Davey Boy and Pillman Jr help a limping Teddy Hart to the back while Public Enemy watch them walk away and help Tyson Kidd up.
After discussing the match that happened and our main event tonight of KUSHIDA vs Baron Corbin to determine the challenger of WALTER's ECW Television Championship admist all the recent ECW controversy, they are interupted with a backstage segment of none other than Baron Corbin. Corbin takes to the camera; explaining how he is more than deserving of an ECW TV Title shot, and there's no way WALTER should even be champion right now because he took his title shot. But that's fine because tonight he will defeat KUSHIDA and then go on to face WALTER where if he can't beat that big freak.. He'll put his job on the line.
Grizzled Young Veterans vs Dudley Boys
Under the usual ECW extreme rules; the Dudley Boyz and Grizzled Young Veterans are instantly off to a brawl. James Drake and Zack Gibson feel they have a lot to offer after losing their number one contender match to Public Enemy. They put up a good effort against the Dudley Boyz, but once the Dudleys get in their groove, there's no stopping them. Despite trying their best to overwhelm them, it goes the other way around as D-Von and Bubba throw both Drake and Gibson around and use chairshots and kendo sticks to their advantage. After the match seems to have come to a standstill, that's when Bubba and D-Von introduce tables! Unfortunately Drake and Gibson nail them with chairshots as they're setting up, seemingly Bubba having forgot he had opponents while he waited on D-Von. Drake and Gibson tried to put Bubba through the table but Bubba threw Gibson off of him and lifted Drake up for D-Von to intercept with a 3D through the table! That's all that she wrote as the Dudley Boys win their first match here in ECW to a very loud response.
As Schivone and Gertner hype up that brutal tag match, before we get to the main event of determing WALTER's next challenger, we are interupted with a video package hyping the debut of someone coming to ECW very soon..
Gertner is especially excited, saying Austin Theory is one of the biggest acquisitions to ECW in recent time and he is going to very clearly be pinpointed as the future of this company. Schiavone mentions that they should wait whether if this kid is all talk or not before we go about hyping his debut in here. He says Theory has all the potential but will that get to his head or not?
Baron Corbin vs KUSHIDA - Winner faces WALTER for the ECW Television Championship
Baron Corbin comes down to the ring tonight, ignoring the clear jeers and boos of the crowd and focused on KUSHIDA who runs down and he instantly attacks. Corbin is in control of the match for awhile, beating down on KUSHIDA who never stood a chance because he was attacked the moment he stepped foot into the ring. Unsurprisingly, Corbin is the first to introduce weapons, despite the Television title scene is more focused on pure wrestling, but does that matter to Corbin? Clearly not. Corbin beats KUSHIDA over the back with a steel chair, showing clear red welts. Corbin continues this, but when he finally turns to taunt to the crowd that gives KUSHIDA enough time to fight back. After ducking a desperation chair shot to the head by Corbin he punches the chair straight into his face! While Corbin is down on the ground, potentially knocked out KUSHIDA is tending to his hand that he may have injured off that punch to the face. KUSHIDA tries to shake off his pain and continue his momentum throughout the match, but the pain comes back when he nails Corbin with the same punch, but hunches over holding his fist. Corbin was able to brace for the punch this time as he lies in the corner, rocked but still aware of what's going on. Corbin sees the opportunity and as soon as the hurt KUSHIDA turns around to Corbin he's met with an End of Days straight onto the chair! Corbin covers KUSHIDA, One..! Two..! Three..! The fans clearly aren't pleased but that doesn't matter as Baron Corbin is going on to face WALTER for the ECW Television Championship!
Corbin yells at the crowd; telling them that he told them so. Corbin raises his arms up in celebration, but suddenly that stops as the theme song of WALTER pierces through the PA boxes. WALTER makes his slow walk down to the ring, with the ECW Television Championship strapped around his waist. WALTER walks up the steps, grabbing onto the ropes and enters the ring; requesting a mic from one of the ringside workers. WALTER congratulates Corbin on his efforts; and while his methods were not very honorable.. He will give him what he wants. The ECW Television Championship match. But.. He did see what Corbin had to say earlier. He said that Corbin would beat KUSHIDA and then go on to face WALTER, and if he doesn't beat him he'll put his job on the line. So WALTER wants exactly that. He won't agree to the terms of a title match unless Corbin puts his job on the line for the ECW Television Championship.
Corbin looks at WALTER; shocked and dumbfounded. Corbin paces around, cursing that it isn't fair he has to put his job on the line, but he takes one more look at WALTER. Corbin takes a mic from a ringside worker and tells him he will put his career on the line, but WALTER best watch out, because Corbin will do anything... And he means anything to win that ECW Television Championship. Corbin shoves the mic into WALTER's chest, stepping out and holding his arms out in victory, as the fans boo. Schiavone and Gertner write us off as next week we will be seeing WALTER vs Baron Corbin for the ECW Television Championship!
