The show opens with Samoa Joe entering Antonio Cueto’s office. It is their first official meeting. Antonio has asked to speak to Joe to find out what happened to his son, Matanza, after he and Joe brawled throughout the Temple last week. Joe says that he doesn’t know what happened to him. He tells him that they fought all the way outside into the back alley. Matanza knocked Joe down with a hard right punch after the gauntlet he wore electrified. It appeared that he was getting ready to hit him again when loud sirens could be heard nearby. As they were getting louder, Matanza refrained from punching him again and ran off. The last he saw him, he climbed over a fence. Antonio asks him if he was still wearing the gauntlet when he disappeared. Joe thinks so. Antonio thanks Joe for his time and hopes he has a good day. Joe says that they’re not done. He says that Matanza cost him his championship, so now he wants a match with Matanza – a Last Man Standing match. Antonio tells him that’s not a good idea. Joe says he doesn’t care, that his son should have thought of the ramifications of attacking him and costing him his title. Antonio says that what Joe doesn’t understand is that it isn’t a good idea for him because with that gauntlet, getting in the ring with Matanza means that Matanza is going to kill Joe. He scoffs at the very thought and says that the only person going to get killed around here is Antonio if he doesn’t get what he wants. Antonio relents and says that he’ll give Joe what he wants but he can’t promise him that Matanza will show up for the match as no one is in control of him now that he’s out there on his own.

Lucha Underground Trios Championship Match
Fénix, Aero Star & Drago vs. Will Ospreay, Dr. Wagner Jr. & Famous B
Fénix, Aero Star & Drago defeated Will Ospreay, Dr. Wagner Jr. & Famous by pinfall to retain the Lucha Underground Trios Championships. It wasn’t difficult for the champions to register another successful title defense as their challengers couldn’t get on the same page. Ospreay was at odds with his teammates from the start. It didn’t help matters much when Ospreay attempted a Pele kick on Fénix, who ducked out of the way, and hit Dr. Wagner Jr. instead. After that mishap, Ospreay received a springboard front-missile dropkick from Aero Star, knocking him out of the ring. Meanwhile, Drago took Dr. Wagner Jr. out of the ring with a clothesline and then took him down with a slingshot plancha, leaving Fénix free to give Famous B a Fénix Driver for the win.

Son of Havoc vs. Kevin Owens
Son of Havoc vs. Kevin Owens
Kevin Owens defeated Son of Havoc by pinfall in his Lucha Underground debut. This was a 9-minute contest that saw Owens and Havoc trade the advantage until they ended up outside the ring. It was during this brawl on the floor when Owens took complete control of the match. While Havoc started out the brawl with the advantage following a handspring over the top rope corkscrew moonsault, it was Owens finished it with the advantage following a powerbomb on the side of the ring apron. With Havoc in severe pain, it didn’t take long for Owens to finish him off in the ring with the Prizefighter’s Stunner. “Classy” Freddie Blassie joined Owens in the ring after his victory and proclaimed that he has found his Prizefighter and the successor to his legacy as the greatest fighter in lucha history, and his name is Kevin F’n Owens.

Antonio Cueto meets with the Ultimate Warrior in his office. Antonio says he could use his help again. He tells him how the plan to draw Matanza into the Temple by eliminating Nikki Cross worked, but then Samoa Joe interfered and now Matanza has disappeared. He needs his help getting him back into the Temple for a match between Matanza and Joe. When that match is over, he can get Matanza back under control. The only problem is that he has no idea what they can do to lure him back into the Temple. Ultimate Warrior says that he will help. He tells Antonio to let it be known throughout the city that if Matanza wants to see Nikki Cross again, he’ll have to the Temple to come face-to-face with the Ultimate Warrior. Antonio thinks that will work but says this will put his life in danger. The Ultimate Warrior tells him not to worry. Remember, he has come back from the dead once. He can do it again if he must. Just spread the word and Matanza will come.

Awesome Kong vs. Dragon Lee vs. Johnny Mundo vs. El Hijo del Fantasma
Johnny Mundo defeated Awesome Kong, Dragon Lee and El Hijo del Fantasma by pinfall. This match went about 12-minutes and saw all luchadores getting a period in which they were in control of the match. However, with multiple participants, it was difficult to get a conclusive pinfall for a count of three. Awesome Kong was denied the win twice after giving Mundo an Awesome Bomb and Dragon Lee her Awesome Splash. In both instances, someone broke up the fall. In the end, Kong was taken out with a suicidal frankensteiner from Dragon Lee, who leapt over the ropes to send her off the ring apron and onto the unforgiving concrete floor. With the two of them out of the picture, Mundo countered a charging attack from Fantasma with moonlight drive, then dragged him into the corner and executed Starship Pain for the win.

GIFT OF THE GODS MATCH
Prince Puma vs. Mil Muertes w/ Catrina
GIFT OF THE GODS MATCH
Prince Puma vs. Mil Muertes w/ Catrina
The match began with Mil Muertes staring straight at Prince Puma and making a hand gesture to bring it, so Prince Puma went at him with several punches. However, Mil Muertes seemed to absorb all his shots and fired back, using his power to drop his smaller opponent into the mat. After stomping a mudhole in him, he gave Puma an Irish whip and attempted a clothesline. Puma ducked it, then did a somersault evasion from a second attempt and took Mil Muertes to the mat with a kip-up headscissors takedown. He followed that with a big dropkick to knock Mil Muertes into the ropes. However, when he tried a running cross-body block, Mil Muertes caught him, executed a ribbreaker across the knee and then threw Puma into the air and drove him to the mat with a catch and release powerslam. He covered for a 2-count.
Mil Muertes picked up Puma and threw him out to the floor where he could be expected to do a lot of damage to Puma. The ensuing brawl saw both luchadores fight up into the hardwood bleachers where grabbed a sign for a fan and hit it over Mil Muertes’ head before giving him a snap suplex. Taking him back down to the Temple floor, Puma went for an Irish whip. Mil Muertes reversed it and Puma went straight at a high-rise bleacher retaining wall. Mil Muertes charged after him, but Puma took two paces up the side of the wall and landed behind Mil Muertes, dropkicked him into the wall and then gave him a Tornado DDT onto the floor.
It took Puma considerable effort to lift Mil Muertes’ deadweight off the floor and return him to the ring. He climbed onto the ring apron and went for a springboard 450-degree splash, but Mil Muertes put his knees up. After that, Mil Muertes executed a number of high-impact power moves in a row, including a running clothesline, a Samoan drop, a snap powerslam, a spinebuster, and a 180-degree chokeslam. He went for a pinfall after all this, but Puma kicked out at the 2-count.
Next, Mil Muertes went outside and brought a steel chair into the ring. He wedged it between the top two turnbuckles, then picked up Puma by the collar and tights and went to throw him head-first into the chair. Puma stopped short, then spun around and delivered a high-knee strike to the jaw of Mil Muertes. He knocked him down with a spinning heel kick. They got up and Puma caught him in the jaw with another high-knee strike. He ran to the ropes and attempting a cutter, but Mil Muertes pushed him away then pulled him for a release German suplex. However, Puma spun over in the air and landed on his feet. Then, he performed a jumping double-foot stomp to Mil Muertes’ chest. They both struggled to get up to their feet. Puma delivered a running European uppercut to Mil Muertes in the corner. Then, he somersaulted out of the corner and charged in again but was dropped with a stiff right fist that knocked him off his feet. When Mil Muertes went to pick up Puma, he received a standing dropkick. It staggered Mil Muertes, but didn’t knock him over. When Puma got back up, Mil Muertes went for the Reaper’s Trident, but Puma moved and Mil Muertes slammed his head into the chair wedged between the turnbuckles. Puma grabbed the champion and lifted him up into a fireman’s carry and then him the Pele kick. He went for the pin. 1…2… kick out!
After this, Prince Puma took control of the match, using his speed to his advantage by giving Mil Muertes a springboard tornado DDT, a northern lights suplex rolling into a deadlift vertical suplex, a leg hook belly-to-back suplex a corkscrew 450-degree splash. All pinfall attempts following these moves were unsuccessful. After a superman punch knocked Mil Muertes down and out of the ring, Puma brought the Believers to their feet with an over the top rope no-hands corkscrew moonsault plancha. After throwing Mil Muertes back into the ring, Puma went to the top rope and executed the 630-degree senton bomb. He pinned. 1…2… kick out! He couldn’t believe it. He decided to go back to the top rope to try it again. This time, Mil Muertes rolled in towards the turnbuckles and Puma landed hard on his back. It took a while for both luchadores to get up, but once they did, Mil Muertes ran through Puma like a freight train with the Reaper’s Trident spear. He picked up Puma by the throat, brought him into the center of the ring and executed the Flatliner. He pinned him. 1…2… shoulder up! Now, Mil Muertes couldn’t believe it, and neither could Catrina.
Mil Muertes tried dragging Puma into the corner, but he kicked at his head to gain separation. Then, a superkick, roundhouse kick and a jumping roundhouse kick all landed to knock Mil Muertes off his feet. Puma went to the top rope. Catrina raised the stone in her hand up to the air and Mil Muertes sat up. He hit Puma with some hard punches and then climbed the turnbuckle to go for a superplex. Puma blocked and after a few headbutts, knocked Mil Muertes down, but not off his feet. Mil Muertes tried to swipe at his feet, but Puma leapt overhead and rolled into a somersault up to his feet. Mil Muertes charged at him for another Reaper’s Trident, but Puma delivered a superkick to put him out on his feet. Then, he lifted him into a fireman’s carry and executed the Benadryller (fireman’s carry released into a roundhouse kick). He climbed the turnbuckle and landed the 630-degree senton, and then did it a second time for good measure. Then, he made the pin. 1…2…3!
Prince Puma defeated Mil Muertes by pinfall to win the Gift of the Gods!

The scene is a lone gas station on the side of a highway that cuts through a large desert landscape. A car pulls up. The service station attended comes out. The window rolls down and we see that King Cuerno is in the driver’s seat. The gas station attendant is Jake Roberts. Cuerno tells Roberts to fill it up. They make small talk about the weather. Cuerno says he’ll pay with his bank card so he goes inside with Roberts. As he’s paying, another car pulls into the station and waits for service on the other side of the pump. Cuerno gives it a long look. Roberts asks if he’s seen that car before. Cuerno tells him that he’s seen way too much of it. Roberts tells Cuerno that he’ll make sure to hold him so he can get the slip.
Cuerno goes back out to the car, acting as if he doesn’t recognize anything special about the other, and drives off. Roberts comes out to serve his next customer. It’s Magnum T.A. Roberts fills up the tank. Magnum pays with cash. Roberts drops the bill, then has to bend over to pick it up. As he does, he stuffs a gasoline-soaked rag into the tail pipe of the car. Roberts sparks a match and lights the rag on fire. He heads into gas station. Magnum senses something isn’t quite right, so he gets out of the car, walks around the back side of it and sees the entire tail pipe is on fire. He turns to look into the gas station and sees Roberts open the door and extends the double barrel of his shotgun out the door at him. Magnum wonders “what the fuck is going on.” King Cuerno pulls back into the service station, opening the passenger side door from the inside and yells at him to get in. Magnum looks at him stunned. Cuerno tells him to hurry up before he gets shot. Magnum jumps in and they kick up dirt peeling on out of there as Magnum’s car goes up in flames.
Magnum thanks Cuerno and asks him what he was doing there. Cuerno responds, “I could ask you the same thing,” without once taking his eyes off the road.
