The show opens with lead play-by-play commentator
Mauro Ranallo and expert analyst
Jeremy Borash here in Portland, Oregon, as we are ready for the next big outing from
Prestige Pro Wrestling! Just as they are starting go down the card, including a match tonight to crown the first ever North American champion between Drew Gulak and Juice Robinson,
"Opposite Ends of the World" hits and out comes the newly crowned PPW International Champion,
Buddy Murphy!
Murphy takes the microphone and excuses Mauro and Borash back to their little announce table, where those can't do go to talk about those who can... and the best man doing it today is standing in the ring right now, according to Murphy. He says there were many of losers, of "casuals" out there who didn't know who Buddy Murphy was, but they damn sure know now! And he says he's a fighting man's champion, a real man, and the best damn wrestler anywhere on this planet. He says tonight, he's willing to face anyone, any type of match, doesn't matter, he will overcome, because he is a TRUE champion, and backs down from noone!
Murphy waits a moment, and is met with the sounds of
"Battle Without Honor or Humanity" and out from behind the curtain comes a debuting
PAUL LONDON!
Half of the crowd gives a nice ovation for London, while the others are more polite but contemplative, as they not be as familiar with his body of work. London doesn't seem to care, as he looks out to the crowd and smiles a big smile. Murphy tries to cut off London from speaking, saying he wants a real fight, not some burn out, but London tells him emphatically to
SHUT HIS DAMN MOUTH, to the joy of the crowd! London says if he wants a real fight, a real test... well he's got one, and London says he's got news for Murphy... tonight, he doesn't think he's ready for that test in front of him, and he says his title run is going to be a short one, because tonight, Paul London wants to make his debut here in Portland, Oregon (CHEAP POP!) a MEMORABLE ONE, and that's why tonight, he is accepting Buddy Murphy's open challenge to fight "any man" in "any type of match", and answering that challenge with the match stipulation that put him on the map: A STREET FIGHT, RIGHT HERE IN RIP CITY!
The crowd goes nuts, and Murphy looks beside himself. He bites his lip, adjusting his title on his waist, and begins to get a steely look in his eyes and nods. He says if Paul London wants a street fight, he's going to give him all that he can handle... and Murphy says it's not his title reign that's going to be short lived, but London's LIFE, because he just made the biggest mistake he's ever made, and while these fans might beg him to "Please Don't Die"... the CHAMP will show NO MERCY tonight to this ignorant fool in front of him.
London smiles and mimes the belt around his waist, walking away as Murphy's music hits again and we've got a big main event set for tonight! Who could have seen that coming!?
Fatal Four Way Match
"Lucha Dragon" Kalisto vs. "Mad Dog" Oney Lorcan vs. Shane "Swerve" Strickland vs. "Prince Pretty" Tyler BreezeShane Strickland manages to win this chaotic match. It looked as though Lorcan would have this match won, blasting Kalisto to the back of the head with a BRUTAL Northern Lariat, but "Swerve" came off the top with a Double Stomp to Lorcan's back to break up the fall. Breeze would come in and try to deliver a Beauty Shot, but Strickland would duck it and deliver a Rolling Thunder Cutter to put him down for the three count!
Winner by Pinfall: Shane StricklandAfter the match,
BJ WHITMER hit the ring, alongside Oney Lorcan, and these two absolutely pummeled Shane Strickland. It looked as though they might deliver a Spike Piledriver when out to the ring ran
APOLLO CREWS to break up the beatdown, sending Lorcan out of the ring with a Flying Clothesline, followed by a dropkick to Whitmer to send him out of the ring! Crews tells them to come back in and fight, but Whitmer grabs Lorcan, who's looking rabid, and pulls him back, headlocking him and pulling him to the back, not wanting any part of Crews at this point. Crews lifts up Strickland and helps him regain his footing as the fans cheer them on.
Singles Match
"The Undead Bride" Su Yung vs. Xia BrooksideXia Brookside puts up a nice little fight in this four minute outing, showing off some agility and counter wrestling skills, but this match was about Yung. Yung is very creepy and gets over with this crowd through her paced but aggressive attack. Brookside would land a flurry of quick armdrags and dropkicks near the end, feeling like she might have a shot to win this one, but Yung spewed out a RED MIST into her eyes, followed by the visually impressive Panic Switch finisher to get the win.
Winner by Pinfall: Su Yung
Next out to the ring, we have
Chris Hero and
Steve Corino! Corino takes the mic and tells the ignorant, disrespectful hipsters here in Portland to shove their vapes up their ass and the avocados in their mouths, because the KINGS OF WRESTLING are here, and they deserve a little God damn peace and quiet as they address these simple peasants! Chris Hero takes the microphone and says they find each and every person here pathetic, but no more pathetic than the competition in the back. He says they are God's gift to tag team wrestling, and wrestling in general, and there is nobody that can stand toe to toe with them in this ring! That leads
Jay Lethal and
Lio Rush out, who get a nice pop from the crowd! Lio Rush has the microphone and says all he sees is a couple of saggy white boys who look like they missed leg day and had a few too many Heinekens, and he says they ain't gonna survive the LETHAL RUSH coming their way!
Tag Team Match
Lethal Rush: Jay Lethal / Lio Rush vs. Kings of Wrestling: Chris Hero / Steve CorinoRush and Lethal start off hot, taking the offense right to Hero and Corino and then isolating Corino in the ring. They take turns beating on Corino, who manages to catch an in coming kick from Rush and pull him up into a nice Sit-Out Powerbomb to buy him enough time to make a hot tag to Hero. Hero shows his agility and penchant for impact, coming in and hitting some dazzling moves and strikes before delivering a dive on the outside to both Lethal and Rush to actually get the fans on their feet and showing The Kings some respect! Back in the ring, Hero attempts to deliver a Rolling Elbow to Lethal, but Lethal ducks it and catches him with an Enzuigiri, followed by a Lethal Combination! Lethal tags out to Rush, who is up top, and comes off with the Rush Hour onto Hero! Corino comes in and dropkicks Rush in the head to break up the pin. Lethal flies in and catches Corino with a Springboard Dropkick. Lethal is feeling it, taunting the crowd and attempts to go for his Lethal Injection, but Corino counters it, rolling Lethal up with a School Boy and he's got a handful of tights, pulling it hard! Corino gets the three count, and the fans are booing as Corino and Hero leave the ring, smiling and looking relieved!
Winners by Pinfall: Chris Hero / Steve CorinoLethal is in the ring arguing with the referee about the tights, but he says he didn't see it as Mauro says it's a damn shame that Corino stole one for his team tonight.
Singles Match
Bea Priestley vs. Dakota KaiThese two women are some of the best strikers in PPW, but their personalities couldn't be any more different. Dakota Kai is trying to recover from a tough loss to World champion Asuka recently, and getting this win would have been a great way to get back on track. Unfortunately, the very determined and brutal Priestley had some different ideas. Priestley would show her toughness, weathering many of Kai's biggest blows throughout this match, and managed to reverse the TTYL into a Rolling Cutter in visually impressive fashion! Priestley goes on to hit a Double Curb Stomp, smashing Kai's head into the mat with both feet, and that was enough to put down the Kiwi for the three count!
Winner by Pinfall: Bea PriestleyPriestley gets on the microphone afterwards and says she taught this little bitch Kai a lesson, but she is ready for a title shot! She says wants the winner of Yim/Moon to decide who will be the next challenger to the International Women's title, and to decide who will be her next victim! Borash says that Priestley has shown some real growth since arriving here in PPW, looking better and better every outing, and says she could be a real threat to the title if she continues on this path. Mauro agrees, saying she definitely has the mean streak and one Hell of a finisher, it's hard to deny her as a title threat.
Singles Match
Austin Aries vs. "The Bruiserweight" Pete DunneNow this was a dream match, as Aries looked to make his debut here in PPW a successful one, while Pete Dunne looked to get back on the winning track to hopefully put himself into title contention. These two started with some solid back and forth chain wrestling, each man wanting to show up the other, as you're not likely to find two bigger egos in the back than either of these men. Dunne would attack the fingers of Aries ruthlessly, but Aries would show his survival instincts, clawing Dunne's eyes and even fish hooking his mouth at one point! These two would grapple all the way to the outside, where the elbows started flying back and forth. Aries would manage to send Dunne into the guardrail and deliver a Running Dropkick to smash him, much to the fans delight! Aries would then go inside and bring the fans in before rushing and flying through the ropes, delivering a beautiful high speed Suicida! Aries would try to send Dunne back into the ring, but Dunne would deliver elbows, followed by a European Uppercut and then a big boot to the side of his head, before smashing him into the guardrail in a furious flurry of offense! "The Bruiserweight" would then grab up Aries and deliver his X Plex on the apron, sending a shockwave down the spine of "A Double"! Back in the ring, Dunne would deliver a Tiger Driver, but only a two count! Dunne loads up and tries for a big Forearm shot, but Aries ducks it and catches him with a Complete Shot, rolled into the Last Chancery! Dunne is hurting, but manages to get his foot on the ropes to break it! Aries unloads with knee strikes to Dunne's head, before yanking him up and into a Brainbuster, but Dunne reverses with a kneestrike of his own! Dunne would grab Aries and deliver a Tombstone Piledriver, but only a two count! Dunne attempts to lock on a Kimura, but Aries fights it and lifts him up, slamming him back first into the turnbuckles! Aries tries for a Running Dropkick in the corner, but Dunne avoids it! Dunne delivers a Step Up Enzuigiri to Aries into the corner, followed by a German Suplex into the buckles! He tries for another cover, but Aries STILL kicks out! Dunne is calling for it, and attempts to deliver the Bitter End, but Aries breaks free, delivering an elbow strike, and he attempts to go for the Brainbuster again, but Dunne breaks free, only to have Aries hit a Spinning Back Elbow, followed by a Death Valley Driver! Aries hooks the leg, thinking he's got it, but Dunne kicks out, but Aries is trying for the Last Chancery again! Dunne, though, rolls through and manages to reverse it, and he's going back for the Kimura Lock, but Aries shirks it off, early. They run the ropes and Dunne attempts another Forearm Smash, but Aries ducks it and stops, catching Dunne with a Rolling Forearm as he turns, staggering him and allowing Aries to hit the Brainbuster! Aries takes a minute, shaking off the cobwebs, and proceeds to head up top. The fans are cheering him on, as he prepares to deliver the 450 Splash, but DUNNE GETS THE KNEES UP! Aries is stumbling, holding his ribs, and Dunne unleashes a Superkick that stuns him! Dunne then runs off the ropes and flips "A Double" inside out with the Lariat! Dunne yells out, calling for the end, and lifts up Aries, delivering the Bitter End! Dunne hooks both legs, desperate to put Aries away, and he gets the three count!
Winner by Pinfall: Pete DunneThe fans give both men a nice ovation, as that was every bit as good as we would hope for from these two! Dunne gets the microphone and says he doesn't bloody care if it's Buddy Murphy or Paul fuckin' London, he wants the next shot at the International title! Dunne throws down the mic and Borash says it's hard to argue with Dunne after that performance. He thinks everyone would like to see Dunne face either one of those men, and Mauro has to agree.
Singles Match
"The Shenom" Ember Moon vs. "The H.B.I.C." Mia YimThis was a very well paced match. Yim would take control early, taunting the fans of Moon as she grounded and pounded her before Moon was able to hit a reversal and pick up the pace. Moon would take Yim out of the ring with a headscissors, before flying out onto her with a Suicide Dive to get the fans going. Yim would manage to regain control on the outside and Moon into the turnpost HARD with a whip that sent her shoulder first into the steel. From there, Yim worked the arm relentlessly. Moon would manage to regain some control, but couldn't perform a Handspring into the corner because of her shoulder, leaving her open to further attack from Yim, who would go on to deliver Protect Ya Neck for the pinfall.
Winner by Pinfall: Mia YimAfter the match,
Bea Priestley would arrive on stage and have a stare down with Yim, as these two head into the next show to decide who will be the next challenger for the International Women's title. Borash points out that these two are among the most fierce and driven women in the division, so their match should be one not to be missed.
Tag Team Match
American Wolves: Davey Richards / "Die Hard" Eddie Edwards vs. Strong Style Thugz: "The Notorious 187" Homicide / Low KiThese two teams are near mirror images of the other, with Edwards and Homicide preferring hard hitting, hardcore action, while Richards and Ki are both well rounded strikers who like to implore more MMA aspects to their game. This made for a very fun and at times insane showdown, as these teams were extra stiff with one another and seemed to be out for blood in their debuts here. Edwards has been around PPW now for a little while, but has yet to pick up a win, so you could see the emotion in this match as he refused to stay down after eating big moves from both of his opponents. In the end, it was a pair of brass knuckles from Homicide that would actually take "Die Hard" down for the three count, getting huge heat from these fans, as Homicide and Ki live up to their thuggish persona to get the win tonight.
Winners by Pinfall: Homicide / Low KiAfter the match, Edwards has to be helped to the back by medical staff with a huge gash in his head, as Richards escorts him, very concerned for the well being of his partner.
PPW North American Title
Singles Match
Drew Gulak vs. "The Flamboyant" Juice RobinsonThese two men have both recently been challengers to Seth Rollins' World Heavyweight championship, and both men put up valiant, though losing, efforts in those contests. Now, as a show of respect to these men and how hard they've worked, they now receive the opportunity to become the first ever North American champion of PPW. Gulak is able to take down the bigger Juice early and contort his body in some nasty ways, slowly allowing the fans to get behind "The Flamboyant One" as he tried to make his way back. Juice would eventually gain some momentum and even send Gulak to the outside with a Crescent Kick. Juice would proceed to get up close and personal with the fans, taking Gulak into the crowd and delivering a big Body Slam onto the concrete before sending him back over the guardrail. Back in the ring, Juice would get a little funky, hitting a punch combination and then trying for his Implant DDT, but Gulak would reverse it and deliver an Inside Lariat for a two count to get things going his way. Gulak would proceed to deliver a Spine Splitter for a two count, before trying to lock on the GuLock, but Juice would break free and deliver a stiff Palm Strike, followed by a Fireman's Carry Gutbuster for a close two count! Juice would taunt the crowd and then go for the Pulp Friction, but Gulak would reverse and use an O'Connor Roll to take him over, followed by a Southern Lights Suplex, which earned him a two count! Gulak would go back to trying for his GuLock finisher, but Juice would manage to get to the ropes before he could cinch it in. Gulak would keep on the attack, stomping and headbutting Juice before delivering a Snap Suplex into the buckles! From there, Gulak would grab Juice and hook him like a Fisherman's Suplex, but Juice would fight his way out and deliver a brutal Left Hand Jab, followed by a whip and then a Twisting Samoan Drop for a two count! Gulak would stumble up in the corner and Juice would fly in with a Clothesline, followed by a Cannonball in the corner! Juice would try to hook Gulak in for the DDT again, but Gulak would twist out of it and deliver a knee, followed by a whip in the corner, leading to a clothesline from Gulak, followed by a clothesline to Juice's back, and both men are down! Both men rise to their feet, and Juice tries for another Palm Strike, but Gulak catches him with a headbutt to the chest, sending him back into the ropes. Gulak rushes Juice, but Juice goes low, pulling down the top rope and sending Gulak over! Gulak catches himself, though, and is on the apron. Gulak tries to strike Juice, but Juice blocks it and catches him with a Left Jab and then hooks him in and brings him over with an Indoor Suplex... he floats through and pulls Gulak up... SNAP DDT! Juice is feeling it, taunting the crowd and bringing them in. Gulak slowly makes his way up and Juice tries for another Crescent Kick, but Gulak ducks it and grabs him by the waist, but Juice rushes forward and grabs the top rope and flings Gulak off of him. Gulak is back to his feet and Juice proceeds to deliver a Straight Palm Strike to his face, turning him and stunning him all at once! Juice grabs Gulak from behind and twists him over... PULP FRICTION! Juice nails it and makes the cover! ONE, TWO, THREE! Juice Robinson has done it!
Winner by Pinfall, and NEW PPW North American Champion: Juice RobinsonAfter the match, Juice celebrates in the middle of the ring and takes a microphone. He says it's been a long time coming, but he's FINALLY got some championship gold, and he's the very first champion! He says that's not too fuckin' bad, but he says now, he needs to make this belt the best it can be, and being the most entertaining guy in professional wrestling today, having the best matches, night in and night out, he feels like the North American title will be THE title of
Prestige Pro Wrestling during his reign as champion! Juice doesn't finish for long when suddenly
"Here to Show the World" hits and out to the stage walks
DOLPH ZIGGLER!
Ziggler takes a microphone and says he thinks it's cute that Juice thinks he's the most entertaining wrestler in the world, having the best matches, when that distinction belongs to "The Showoff"! He says his record speaks for itself, and now that he's here in PPW, he wants the respect he deserves, and he wants to make that reign of Juice's a very short one. Juice doesn't take long to respond, saying OH HELL YEAH, he says if Ziggler wants to lose so badly, he's come to the right place, and Juice Robinson is just the man to do it! If he wants a shot at the champ, he's got it, next show, no problem, bring it on! Mauro and Jeremy can't believe the way this night has shaped up, as we now have Juice Robinson defending his newly won North American title against
DOLPH ZIGGLER of all people at the next show!
PPW International Women's Title
Singles Match
Mayu Iwatani (c) vs. Toni StormThis felt like a very real big time contest, as these two showed their ability to wrestle in every style and discipline, giving these fans a real treat. Iwatani has rather quietly had one of the best reigns as champion of anybody in the Mash-Up Universe, and it's because she can really do it all and nobody has been able to keep her down. Toni Storm is as exciting as they come in the women's division, and she's had a solid rise to the top. Mayu and Storm fond themselves at a stand still many times in this match, as neither woman could seem to establish a clear advantage, but the sheer fight and will of Mayu Iwatani to continue her reign as champion just never ceases to amaze. When she starts in with her heavy kicks and suplexes, it is a thing to marvel at. Storm, to her credit, would do what many could not do, and kicked out of the first Dragon Suplex put to her, but Mayu didn't let off the gas at all. Mayu would come charging in with a Running Kneescrape against the ropes as Toni looked for some sort of reprieve, and followed by with a vicious Axe Kick to the back of her neck, followed by a second Bridging Dragon Suplex to get the victory and retain her title!
Winner by Pinfall, and STILL PPW International Women's Champion: Mayu IwataniThe commentators note that there are two women in Mia Yim and Bea Priestley directly gunning for Mayu Iwatani, but Borash points out that when you look at her resume and who she has put down, especially her last two opponents in Jazzy Gabert and Toni Storm, and even recently beating Yim herself, it'll be very impressive to see anybody unseat the champion at this point. Mauro points out that she certainly seems to be made of something different and have a different gear that many of these women are hoping to find if they have a chance of ever hoisting the blue belt.
PPW International Title
No Disqualification Match
Buddy Murphy (c) vs. Paul LondonPaul London was looking to make a huge debut here, and he brought all the fire he could to the defending champion tonight. London was relentless in his attack, taking Murphy to the outside and actually spearing him right through the guardrail! Murphy would show his amazing power for his size, however, catching London who did a Moonsault off the apron and sending him into the turnpost with a LAWN DART to bust him wide open! Murphy would pull out a table from under the ring and pulled London up to the apron for a powerbomb onto it, but London would fight his way out and then kick Murphy, sending him back onto the table. From there, London would get on the middle turnbuckle and fly off with an AMAZING Shooting Star Press to smash Murphy through the table on the floor! London would go under the ring and grab a ladder bringing it into the ring, before trying to dive out onto Murphy, but Murphy would catch him with a chair shot in mid-air! Murphy would then take the ring steps and prop them against the guardrail before lifting London and delivering a Powerbomb into the steel steps! Murphy would set up the ladder in the ring against the buckles and bring London back in, attempting another Powerbomb but London would pull over it and catch Murphy in a Sunset Flip for a two count before dropkicking him in the face. Murphy would get back up and try to rush London near the ladder in the corner, but London would catch him with a Huracanrana, crushing Murphy's back into the ladder! Murphy would roll to the outside and London would run up the ladder and then flip backwards, down to the floor to catch the champion with a crooked Moonsault, getting a huge pop from the fans who would be chanting "LONDON! LONDON! LONDON!" as he lay on the floor, wiped out with a crimson mask! London would grab a chair and try to hit Murphy with it, but Murphy ducked it. London would turn and quickly throw the chair at Murphy, the champion catching it, and proceeds to deliver a Dropsault into the chair! London grabs Murphy by the hair and picks him up, only to catch a low blow from Murphy, who proceeds to pick up London into a Canadian Rack and sending him gut first onto the guardrail! Murphy then gets up onto the apron and then runs, flying off and catching London to the side of the head with a Bicycle Knee Strike! Murphy sends London back into the ring and grabs the chair and unfolds it, setting it up in the ring. Murphy sends a series of kicks into London, sending him into the chair in a seated position. Murphy then runs off the ropes, trying to knee London, but Paul dodges it and Murphy catches nothing by chair, toppling it on. London then catches Murphy to a drop toe hold to the edge of the seat, catching him throat/clavicle first! London's not done, as he runs off the ropes and goes on to DOUBLE STOMP MURPHY TO THE BACK WHILE HIS THROAT IS AGAINST THE EDGE OF THE STEEL CHAIR'S SEAT! That was sick! London still isn't done, blood dripping from him and finding the adrenaline to keep going, he runs and hits a Standing Shooting Star Press, thinking he's got it, but Murphy still kicks out! London grabs the ladder, now crooked and bent, and pulls it towards the center of the ring. London picks up Murphy and Body Slams him onto the steel chair, now folded up, and then goes to climb the ladder. The familiar "PLEASE DON'T DIE!" chants begin, as we can all guess what he's about to do. As London climbs the ladder, Murphy pulls the chair out from under his back and he has it in hand.... London is towards the top of the ladder... LONDON FLIES OFF THE LADDER, BEAUTIFUL SHOOTING STAR PRESS OFF THE WOBBLY LADDER, BUT NO! MURPHY HAS MOVED AND PLACED THE STEEL CHAIR WHERE HE WAS LAYING IN A NEAR INSTANT, AND LONDON EATS THE CHAIR ON THE LANDING! OH MY GOD! MAMA MIA! HOLY SHIT! London looks about dead here, but Murphy's not done. Murphy grabs the chair back up and unfolds it, setting it up as good as he can. He has a maniacal look in his eye as he picks up London and hoists him onto his shoulders with lighting speed... MURPHY'S LAW ONTO THE UNFOLD CHAIR, AND THE CHAIR IS BROKEN IN HALF, AS IS PAUL LONDON, AS GOD AS MY WITNESS! Murphy mercifully pins London now, who has lost a lot of blood, and it's all over. Buddy Murphy retains after one of the best matches we've ever seen here
Prestige Pro Wrestling.
Winner by Pinfall, and STILL PPW International Champion: Buddy MurphyThe fans are on their feet for a standing ovation, as London is barely moving and being checked on by officials. Murphy is in the corner, looking like he's about to collapse, but takes a microphone to address the crowd and Pete Dunne. He says this is exactly why he wanted to become champion, to have the best matches, the biggest wars, and to prove he is the best. He says Pete Dunne survived Austin Aries earlier in the night in one Hell of a match... but he's not ready for Buddy Murphy. Nobody is. Murphy throws down the microphone, and Mauro says it's hard to argue with that, as it's hard to think what it will take to stop the champion after seeing the punishment he took tonight. Borash says the punishment he took was one thing, but the scarier thing is the punishment he dished out, as Murphy was absolutely brutal tonight and will seemingly stop at nothing to keep that title around his waist. The wrestling world has been put on notice as we sign off from Portland and look to the next one!
Thanks for joining us, and good night.
