"It's Back!"
Those are the first words you hear from a highly eager and excited Tony Schiavone, who runs down the first episode of ECW Hardcore TV, along with the dirty, and disrespectful Joel Gertner who also welcomes the fans with some pretty crude and interesting remarks.
KUSHIDA (2019) vs. X-Pac (1999)
This was an intense clash between two heavily different styles. Despite both having a wide range of aerial moves, they mixed that in with a variety of moves and different styles. Early in the match, X-Pac began to realize that he was definitely getting out of reach to win this match, and decided to resort to heel tactics, such as eye poking KUSHIDA when the referee didn't see, or throwing him into the exposed turnbuckle. X-Pac got a lot of boos from the fans as well as some inappropriate shouts yelled at him. X-Pac let these chants get the better of him, and he was busy confronting the opponents instead of paying attention to his opponent, KUSHIDA who nailed him with a picture-perfect right hand, and lifted him up high for the Back To The Future
Angelico and Jack Evans vs Rascalz (Desmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz) w/ Trey Miguel
With the "Extreme" in Extreme Championship Wrestling incorporated in this match, things got wild. The fans were on the edge of their seat with each daredevil move performed by any of these four men, and they used the wide variety of weapons under the ring including weapons around the arena to their advantage. This was a match where no one left unscathed, and showed people truly not only just about ECW, but tag team wrestling in ECW as a whole. In the end, it was the much younger and quicker Rascalz who were able to outrun Angelico and Jack Evans who were both collectively starting to get older and feel the effects of their high flying maneuvers they've done over the years. Rascalz took the victory with a beautiful standing moonsault, where Desmond pushed Wentz into Evans, wowing many of the fans.
Before the main event, Tony Schiavone and Joel Gertner went over the competitors in the match, before the fans were shocked by Paul Heyman! Heyman grabbed a mic and announced that despite him being contracted to the WWE, he made a deal which allows him to appear amongst the fans as ECW and also announced that he 100% owns ECW! With that being said, Heyman announced the winner of tonight's fatal four way match will go on to face the winner of another fatal four way next week to determine who will be wrestling for the ECW World Championship at the first ECW PPV, Heatwave!
Joey Janela vs Darby Allin vs Mark Andrews vs Chris Hero
The stakes were high for each men after the announcement of Paul Heyman, and everyone went at it. Chris Hero, despite having a much different styles contrasted compared to his opponents actually adapted pretty well, hitting some aerial moves of his own. Even though his bigger weight and style changing up caught his opponents off guard, it wasn't enough to get him anywhere close to a win. Joey Janela was the first person to incorporate weapons in the match, and hell broke loose from that point on. Chairs, tables, barbed-wire boards, you name it, wrestlers were being taken out with all kinds of weapons. A game changer in the match was when Hero power bombed Andrews through a chair, putting Andrews out for the rest of the match. It looked like Hero was going to take out Allin as well until Janela came and saved his suddenly mutual ally. Janela and Allin teamed up against Hero, and even nailed him with a double powerbomb through a table! It was down to Allin and Janela who battled back and forth, and put on a clinic for those familiar with their past work. After Janela countered Allin's signature Coffin Drop with a german suplex, and picked him up and followed with a brutal brainbuster, Janela finished Allin off by nailing a Package Piledriver and now qualifying for the main event at Heatwave for the ECW World Championship.
After a great show, and with Janela celebrating his victory, excited to be in the main event of Heatwave, Schiavone and Gertner sign the fans off and hope the fans are ready for next week's edition of Hardcore TV.
