This week’s show opens inside of the Temple dungeon, where we find Matanza Cueto caged inside of his dark prison cell. Dario Cueto enters the room. Matanza sees him and walks over to end of the cell. Dario walks up a few feet from the cell and starts talking to him about how hurt he was that Matanza gave him the Wrath of the Gods. As he continues, he reveals says that he has made a million sacrifices for him over the years. Thus, the greatest hurt was not receiving the Wrath of the Gods but learning how ungrateful Matanza is for everything Dario’s done for him. Whether it was protecting him from the wrath of their mother and literally saving his life, turning him into a man so violent that he can defend himself against virtually anyone, or making him the greatest luchador in the world. Dario goes on to say that because of what Matanza did, he was forced to go out and find the one luchador as violent as him to take away his championship, so he did. Finally, Dario tells his brother that he’ll have a lot of time to think about the mistakes he’s made, repent for his sins, and ask the gods for forgiveness, as he’ll be locked away in this cell until the day he can once again trust his baby brother, that is, if that day ever comes.

Ultimo Dragon, Will Ospreay & Son of Havoc vs. Dr. Wagner Jr., El Hijo del Fantasma & Sexy Star
Ultimo Dragon, Will Ospreay & Son of Havoc vs. Dr. Wagner Jr., El Hijo del Fantasma & Sexy Star
Ultimo Dragon, Will Ospreay & Son of Havoc defeated Dr. Wagner Jr., El Hijo del Fantasma & Sexy Star by pinfall in this trios match. It was revealed on commentary by Matt Striker that Ultimo Dragon, Will Ospreay and Son of Havoc had all asked for rematches against Dr. Wagner Jr., so Dario Cueto decided to book a trios match and Famous B found El Hijo del Fantasma and Sexy Star willing to team up with the doctor of bad medicine. As one could expect, there was plenty of high-flying action from the opening bell to the closing bell. All the tecnicos had their sights set on getting payback on Dr. Wagner Jr. and they did just that when Ospreay executed an OsCutter, then Ultimo Dragon executed the Asai DDT, and Son of Havoc finished him off with a shooting star press. However, Wagner did not suffer the indignity of getting pinned because the Beautiful “Nurse” Brenda climbed onto the ring apron to flirt with the referee while Famous B put Wagner’s foot on the bottom rope as Son of Havoc tried to pin him. As a consequence, Famous B received a superkick from Ospreay. The distraction was enough to enable Wagner to kick out of the pinfall and then escape under the ropes and leave the ringside area to receive medical assistance from the Beautiful “Nurse” Brenda. With the rudos facing a three-on-two situation, Sexy Star freaked out and left ringside, leaving Hijo del Fantasma all alone to take the pinfall loss after succumbing to Will Ospreay’s Storm Breaker finisher.

El Mariachi Loco vs. Taya Valkyrie
El Mariachi Loco vs. Taya Valkyrie
Taya Valkyrie defeated El Mariachi Loco by pinfall to win her debut match in the Temple. The two luchadores began the match by exchanging holds. El Mariachi Loco eventually started to use his superior speed to put the newcomer on the defensive. At one point, he nearly won the match, scoring a long 2-count after giving Taya a springboard missile dropkick. However, Taya fought back and would go on to win the match after giving El Mariachi Loco a running double knee attack in the corner, followed by a northern lights suplex, curb stomp, and then the Road to Valhalla.

The scene opens with a shot of a Japanese dojo. Pentagon DARK walks into the centre of the room and calls out for his master. A few moments pass with no response, so he calls out to him again. From out of a dark corner of the room steps Vampiro in his long, black robe. Pentagon wants to know why he’s been summoned here. Vampiro wants to know why he isn’t showing him the proper respect by kneeling down before him. Pentagon says he’s completed his training and they are now equals. Vampiro tells him that if that were the case, he’d have won the Gift of the Gods and his number one contender’s match. Instead, he’s been nothing but a bitter disappointment. Pentagon DARK tells him that is not so but Vampiro responds by shouting the question, “Then where is your gold?” in his face.
Pentagon strikes Vampiro. He falls down but starts to laugh. He tells him that his inability to control his anger and let it work for him is pathetic. Pentagon says that he is in control of his anger and that he used it to strike him down. Furthermore, he refuses to be a student any longer as he is much better than that. In fact, now, it is time for him to become the master. Vampiro says he senses there is still too much fear in him to become the master, and it is his fear that prevents him from winning when it matters the most. Pentagon DARK denies him, saying that he has CERO MIEDO! Vampiro dares him to prove it.
Pentagon proceeds to beat Vampiro down. Vampiro takes the entire beating without returning a single blow, however, he doesn’t even try. When Pentagon gets him in position to break his arm, he tells Vampiro it was too easy. Vampiro lets out a sadistic laugh and says that making him think he’s in charge was too easy.
Just then, Pentagon is grabbed from behind and thrown into one of the walls by another man wearing a long, black robe. They trade strikes and blocks for a while before Pentagon knocks the other man down. When he goes to land another strike, he’s flipped into a chokehold. Pentagon fights out of it and continues to battle, but he eventually misses a thrust kick attempt and gets taken down with a neckbreaker. He’s then given a piledriver and then placed in a headscissors while applying a stomach claw that eventually makes me cry out in pain and beg for the man to stop it. He lets go, gets up, and throws his hood back to reveal it is “Classy” Freddie Blassie, who says, “You’re not a master because a true master never gives up. You’re nothing more than a pencil neck geek.” Then, Blassie spits on Pentagon’s face before stomping on it. When Blassie’s done, he walks out of the dojo. A moment later, Vampiro walks over and looks down at his unconscious student. He shakes his head in disgust, then puts his hood up and leaves the room.

Cheeseburger vs. Dragon Lee vs. PJ Black vs. Super Crazy
Cheeseburger vs. Dragon Lee vs. PJ Black vs. Super Crazy
Dragon Lee defeated Cheeseburger, PJ Black, and Super Crazy by pinfall to win this fatal fourway match. This fatal fourway match blended high-risk, high-reward lucha maneuvers with stiff striking offensive maneuvers, and a few high impact power moves. Super Crazy was the most death-defying participant in the match, as he performed a moonsault onto Lee and Black from off the band platform that is above the Temple’s floor entrance. After taking them out, Super Crazy looked to finish off the smallest man in the match, the one they call Cheeseburger, but he nailed a Shotei Palm Strike from out of nowhere to nearly steal the match. Unfortunately for him, Black grabbed him by the foot and pulled him out of the ring and then gave him a sit-out powerbomb on the floor that effectively removed him from the match. After a few more minutes of action, Super Crazy tried a moonsault on Lee, but he got his knees up and then gave him Desnucadora! He couldn’t capitalize as Black hit him with a superkick. Black lifted Lee into a fireman’s carry, but Lee broke free and after trading some blows and ducking a discus clothesline attempt, Lee got Black with a thrust kick to the abdomen and then executed his Dragon Driver on him for the win.

Samoa Joe vs. Johnny Mundo
Lucha Underground Championship Match
Samoa Joe vs. Johnny Mundo
Samoa Joe defeated Johnny Mundo by submission to retain the Lucha Uuderground Championship in his first title defense. Mundo answered the open call and he put up a spirited challenge. They began the match by exchanging holds, but Mundo eventually picked up the pace as he took control. He used his speed to strike quickly, then run away and hit Joe again and again. This continued until he got Joe into the corner and went for a running attack that was countered into a St. Joe Slam! From there, Joe hit Mundo with an inverted atomic drop, single leg dropkick, and running senton bomb to take control of the match. Joe slowed the action down. He used a combination of submission holds and power moves to wear the Mayor of Slamtown down until he set up for a Muscle Buster and was kicked away and then taken down with a diving blockbuster. Although labouring, Mundo rallied with a variety of kicks, knee strikes, and acrobatic offensive maneuvers, but an attempt to execute Starship Pain came too early, as Joe rolled out of the way and then locked Mundo into the Coquina Clutch the moment they both got to their feet. Mundo tried to get to the ropes, but he was pulled away from them and taken down into a body scissors. With the ropes out of reach and no hope to escape Joe’s clutches, Mundo had no choice but to tap out.

Dario Cueto is seen exiting the Temple through the back alley. A long black limousine is parked under the lone street light. He walks over to it and knocks on the door. It is opened from within. He climbs in. Los Angeles City Councilman Delgado greets him as he sits in. He tells him that he’d like to introduce him to someone. Seated across from them, off camera is the mysterious dark lord. Cueto tells him it is a great honour. The dark lord speaks briefly in a gruff voice. He tells Cueto that he’s redeemed himself with great aplomb, and as a result, he believes he is ready to carry out the next stage in their plan. He orders Delgado to give Cueto the device. Delgado produces a large briefcase, hands it over to Cueto and tells him to open it. He opens the briefcase and stares at what is inside with a look of wide wonder. Delgado asks him if he’s sure he’s picked the right one to turn it on. Cueto tells him that he has no doubt, saying that his chosen one will prove he’s the perfect choice to turn it on when he wins Aztec Warfare III.
