We open the show to find Dario Cueto talking on the phone in his office. He says that that the first part of the plan was a great success. Tonight, he’ll execute the second part of his plan. There is a knock on the door, so he says he has to go and hangs up the phone. He calls out to enter. In walks Prince Puma. Cueto greets him, noting that he hasn’t seen him in a long time. Puma tells him that he isn’t here to exchange pleasantries. He’s here because he wants something from him. A match against Mr. America. Cueto says that while he’d love to see it, he won’t book it because he doesn’t want to invite the Real Americans back into his Temple. Puma says that he might as well let them back in because he’d be foolish to think they won’t be coming back. Cueto laughs and says they were so embarrassed last week that they wouldn’t dare show their faces in his Temple ever again. Puma tells him that he’s making a bad assumption because they haven’t left Boyle Heights. Cueto wants to know how he knows that. Puma says this is his neighbourhood and he keeps a watchful eye on everything that is going on it. Not only does he know where they are, he says that they’re planning their return. Cueto takes a drink, then looks at Puma and tells him to make sure they get this message: Dario Cueto invites them back into the Temple next week for a trios match against a group of luchadores that still have a score to settle against them – Prince Puma, Ultimo Dragon, and Awesome Kong.

Son of Havoc vs. Dr. Wagner Jr. w/ Famous B & Beautiful Brenda
Dr. Wagner Jr. defeated Son of Havoc by pinfall. Just as in his previous matches, Dr. Wagner Jr. won with help of Famous B and the Beauty Brenda. The match went back and forth and it looked like Son of Havoc might have pulled off the victory after rebounding off the ropes to execute a cutter on an unsuspecting Dr. Wagner Jr. However, Dr. Wagner Jr. was able to kick out. It was when Son of Havoc went to climb the ropes for a high risk maneuver that Famous B got involved grabbing a hold of his foot as the Beautiful Brenda flirted with the referee. Just as Son of Havoc finished shaking Famous B off him, Dr. Wagner Jr. jumped up the turnbuckles and executed a super belly-to-belly suplex! After that, he gave Son of Havoc the Wagner Driver and pinned him for the win.

Dario Cueto stood in the ring with the Gift of the Gods belt and announced that it was time for all the holders of the Seven Ancient Aztec Medallions to come to the ring and place their individual medallions into the belt, thus securing their spot in the Gift of the Gods match for next week. One-by-one, Rey Mysterio Jr., Johnny Mundo, Paul London, Hijo del Fantasma, Mil Muertes, “Macho King” Randy Savage, and Pentagon DARK place their medallions in the belt. Once that was done, Cueto had another announcement to make. He wanted to give the Believers a little preview of what was to come next week, so he decided they would have a 7-luchador battle royal, and the winner would get to pick the stipulation they believe gives them the best advantage to win the belt.

Paul London was the first luchador eliminated from the match by Pentagon DARK, who had the Believers chanting CERO MIEDO! when he gave the hand gesture before giving London a package piledriver. After that, he picked him up by the hair and threw him clear over the top rope.
Mil Muertes was the next luchador eliminated after he plowed through everyone with either a Reaper’s Trident, a stiff right fist to the side of the head, or a spinning chokeslam. As he appeared to be the biggest threat to everyone else’s chances of winning the match, the other five luchadores made a pact to team up against him. They took turns nailing him with a variety of strikes and power moves before finally Johnny Mundo and Randy Savage both grabbed him and sent him over the top rope.
Hijo del Fantasma and Pentagon DARK were eliminated at the same time when they were each trying to throw the other one over the top rope only to match the “Macho King” Randy Savage run over and dump them both over with a double running clothesline.
“Macho King” Randy Savage was eliminated next after he thought he had eliminated Rey Mysterio, then went across to the other side of the ring to try to toss Johnny Mundo out of the ring. As Mundo wrapped his legs around the ropes and pushed against the ring apron with his hands, Savage leaned over to try to force him over the top rope, but he was dumped over top by Rey Mysterio instead.
Rey Mysterio Jr. was eliminated last by the winner of the battle royal, Johnny Mundo, who moved off the middle rope to avoid receiving the 6-1-9, and then delivered a thrust kick to Mysterio’s chin, sending him falling off the ring apron and onto the floor. As the winner of the match, Johnny Mundo got to pick the match stipulation and decided that the Mayor of Slamtown’s best chance of winning the Gift of the Gods would be to climb a ladder and retrieve it.
Therefore, next week, Rey Mysterio Jr., Johnny Mundo, Paul London, Hijo del Fantasma, Mil Muertes, “Macho King” Randy Savage and Pentagon DARK will compete in a 7-LUCHADOR LADDER MATCH FOR THE GIFT OF THE GODS!!!

“Classy” Freddie Blassie stands at a bathroom sink. He examines the bruises and welts on his face that have yet to heal since he was assaulted two weeks ago by his former client The Miz. As he looks in the mirror, he hears the voice of Vampiro call from behind him. Blassie turns to see him and tells him that he’s thought a great deal about the offer to introduce him to Vampiro’s master. He believes Vampiro to be a very wise man and thinks that he’d like to learn the wisedom he’s learned from the man who taught it to him. Vampiro asks him if he’s certain. Blassie says that he can’t let death take him when he isn’t the best version of himself. Vampiro likes his answers and tells him he’ll introduce him to his master, but first he must turn around and look closely into the mirror at the man he is today. Blassie turns and looks closely in the mirror. He cannot see that Vampiro is walking up behind him. When he stands directly behind Blassie, Vampiro tells him that this man is the man that he’ll never see again. Then he grabs Blassie by the shoulders, leans in and bites into his neck. Blassie screams out in pain. When he is done, Vampiro releases Blassie, who then drops to the floor. He wipes the blood away from his lips as he looks down on the fallen old man and says, “Welcome home, master.”

Lucha Underground Trios Championship Title Match
The Super Friends vs. MexiCools
Fénix, Aero Star & Drago vs. Juventud Guerrera, Psicosis & Super Crazy
The Super Friends defeated the MexiCools by pinfall to retain their Lucha Underground Trios Championships. This exciting trios match was supposed to have already happened a few weeks ago, but it was interrupted by the Real Americans. Having dispelled them from the Temple, Dario Cueto decided to rebook the match, and the Believers were the real benefactors of that decision. High-risk, high-flying, aerial acrobatics were on full display with everyone flying over the top rope at one another at multiple points during the match. Both teams make frequent teams and showed off some innovative double and triple team maneuvers. The end saw a rapid fire highlight reel worthy executing of maneuvers with Drago missing a diving headbutt on Juventud Guerrera, and then receiving a Juvi Driver instead, followed by Fénix running the ropes from one turnbuckle to another to jump out to the floor and take out Psicosis and Super Crazy with a diving corkscrew plancha while Aero Star gave Guerrera a springboard tornado DDT, and then finished him off with an imploding 450-splash for the win.

Dario Cueto makes his second in-ring appearance of the night to apologize to tell the Believers for the fact that the Lucha Underground Championship has barely been defended this season. For one, the number contender, Eddie Guerrero, seems to have dropped off the face of the earth. And two, the current champion, once a proud fighting champion has turned into a puny, little coward since he turned his back on Dario for Nikki Cross, and this is unacceptable. There needs to be a new champion! One who is ruthless, aggressive and more violent than even his own brother has ever been!
Nikki Cross comes out to confront Cueto. The key to Matanza’s cell hangs from a rope that she is wearing around her neck. She says that Matanza is no coward and that now that he has found true love, there is no one in this world who can match his ruthlessness, aggression or penchant for violence. She tells Dario to find any luchador in the world to step into the ring with Matanza and he will make them feel the wrath of the gods.
Cueto is happy to do just that, saying that he knows someone who can defeat Matanza and then points to the entrance when Samoa Joe appears. He walks into the ring. Nikki Cross laughs and says that Matanza will gladly finish off whatever was left of this Samoan Submission Machine after his match against Braun Strowman. Cueto says she’s going to get a chance to find out what is left of him because he’s going to make Joe earn the right to face the champion by competing in a number one contender’s match right now – against Nikki Cross! RING THE BELL!

Samoa Joe vs. Nikki Cross
Samoa Joe vs. Nikki Cross
Samoa Joe defeated Nikki Cross by referee’s decision to earn a match versus Matanza for the Lucha Underground Championship next week! Cross was caught completely off-guard by the announcement that she would be facing Joe. As such, she was instantly dropped by a vicious headbutt. She stumbled back up to her feet and tried to defend herself against Joe’s barrage of strikes, but she could do little to stop them. Backed into the corner, Cross received the CSS enzuigiri kick and was then hoisted onto the top turnbuckle and set into position for the Muscle Buster! Joe hit it and pinned but let go at the count of two. Instead, he let Cross stumble to her feet. Cross laughed the entire time she got up and was even laughing after she was put in the Coquina Clutch and choked out to the end the match. She did not submit, but passed out, and the referee called for the bell. Joe held on about 10 seconds after the bell just to drive the point home that he's as vicious as they come and he fears no one, least of all “The Monster” Matanza Cueto. After Joe let go, he pulled the cell door key from around Cross’ neck and tossed it to Cueto, and then hand gestured that the belt will be his next week.
