We open the show with Dario Cueto meeting Eddie Guerrero in his office. Guerrero, as you might recall, was banished from the Temple at Ultima Lucha Dos. However, as he turned on his teammates, thus helping Cueto’s team to defeat them, Cueto has asked him here to personally thank him by reinstating him into his underground lucha promotion. Guerrero accepts the offer, saying that he has unfinished business here, as he came here to prove that he is the best luchador in the world.
Just then, Pentagon DARK forces the door open and slams it shut. He tells Dario Cueto that he is tired of waiting for a meeting with him and demands that he give him a match against his brother for the Lucha Underground Championship because he has “Cero Miedo!” Cueto likes this new intensity in Pentagon DARK and says that he will give him a chance to prove that he deserves a championship match. Next week, it’s going to be Eddie Guerrero vs. Pentagon DARK in the main event and the winner will be the number one contender for the Lucha Underground Championship.

MATCH FOR ONE OF THE SEVEN ANCIENT AZTEC MEDALLIONS
Dragon Lee vs. Will Ospreay vs. Dragon Rojo vs. Hijo del Fantasma
Hijo del Fantasma defeated Dragon Lee, Will Ospreay, and Dragon Rojo by pinfall to earn one of the Seven Ancient Aztec Medallions. Prior to this match beginning, Dario Cueto came out of his office to announce that he was feeling generous and that even though none of the luchadores in the ring had done anything yet to deserve an opportunity to compete for a championship, he would award the winner of this match an Ancient Aztec Medallion to help them get one step closer to attaining glory and fame in his Temple. With the stakes having been raised, this one was not only about impressing the Believers, but about booking their ticket into the match that would eventually decide who would hold the Gift of the Gods. As such, there was a sense of great urgency and the pace was so fast that if you were blink your eyes, you’d have missed something. The luchadores took to the air often, both inside and out of the ring. There was a sense that the winning pinfall would most likely come from out of nowhere and completely by chance. And that is what happened, as after 12-minutes of furiously paced lucha, it was Hijo del Fantasma who executed a quick Phantom DDT on Dragon Lee and pinned him seconds after he gave Dragon Rojo his Dragon Driver.

The Miz came out to the ring to hijack the show until such a time that Dario Cueto came out to meet his demands, which were plain and simple: another opportunity to win one of the Seven Ancient Aztec Medallions. But not just any opportunity – a fair opportunity. He argued that it was unfair to him to put him in a match with someone he could not have anticipated to be his opponent and therefore could not have prepared for.
Dario Cueto came out of his office and said that while he usually doesn’t like it when people try to challenge his power by hijacking the ring or forcing him out of the Temple, he is a reasonable man who can be swayed by strong arguments and he thinks that The Miz has one, so he’s going to give him another opportunity to win one of the Seven Ancient Aztec Medallions right now against a luchador for whom he should be prepared to face because he is a luchador who has been competing in Lucha Underground since before The Miz stepped foot in the Temple.

Mil Muertes vs. The Miz
MATCH FOR ONE OF THE SEVEN ANCIENT AZTEC MEDALLIONS
Mil Muertes vs. The Miz
Mil Muertes defeated The Miz by pinfall to earn the fourth of the Seven Ancient Aztec Medallions to be re-issued by Dario Cueto since Awesome Kong turned in the Gift of the Gods Championship. The Miz was running for his life for much of this contest as the “Man of A Thousand Deaths” played the role of the vicious hunter to perfection. Mil Muertes’ power and brutality are unmatched by few luchadores, so it was no surprise that the few advantages that The Miz had were earned when his run-away-and-catch-my-opponent-in-a-trap game plan did the trick. However, when it did not, it was bad news for him. The Miz needed a miracle, and “Classy” Freddie Blassie came down to the ring to try to provide him with one. As he had done so many times before, Blassie tried to play the difference makers, but he received a spinning chokeslam for his troubles, and his cane was used to split The Miz’s forehead open. After a Reaper’s Trident spear and a Flatliner directly into the center of the Ancient Aztec seal in the middle of the ring, Mil Muertes pinned The Miz for the win and Ancient Aztec Medallion. Not only did The Miz lose again, but he also received the lick of death from Catrina.

LUCHA UNDERGROUND CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Matanza Cueto vs. Awesome Kong
LUCHA UNDERGROUND CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Matanza Cueto vs. Awesome Kong
Matanza Cueto defeated Awesome Kong by pinfall to retain the Lucha Underground Championship. Awesome Kong put up a great fight. The two behemoths brawled around the Temple and into the hardwood bleachers where Kong gave Matanza a powerbomb, and some time later, Matanza gave Kong a gutwrench suplex. Kong was such a strong challenger that she earned a few 2-count pinfalls, including after landing a picture-perfect Awesome Splash. However, Matanza was too powerful a competitor to be kept down on the mat for a 3-count. He always battled back and drew a “Holy shit!” chant when he took Kong off the top turnbuckle with a superplex! In the end, Kong’s valiant effort was not enough to unseat the most spectacular “Monster” that Lucha Underground has ever seen. Matanza served up the Wrath of Gods to Awesome Kong to earn the victory and retain his championship.
Post-match: Following the match, when Dario raised his brother’s hand in victory, and held the key to his cell high in the air in his other hand, he was knocked down from behind by Nikki Cross! Matanza appeared not to know what to do as Nikki picked up the key, which had been knocked out of Dario’s hand. Dario implored Matanza to destroy her and he closed in on her, but she confidently stood her ground and held the key up in her hand. He stopped short of touching her. Instead, he stood frozen, as Dario got up and barked orders at him to give her the Wrath of the Gods. It was at that moment that he did the unexpected. He turned around, picked up his brother and gave him the Wrath of the Gods! Dario laid motionless in the ring as Nikki put the key around her neck then held Matanza in a sort of embrace, stroking his head and pulling it close to her chest. When they left the ring, Matanza lifted Nikki up into her arms and carried her kicking and screaming, presumably out of joy rather than fear, out of the Temple.
