The show opens at the commentary table, as Ryan Williams and Mike Labonte go over the advancements of the last episode, and what will be happening tonight! Labonte talks about how he's really looking forward to seeing two of the best athletes in wrestling collide in tonight's main event, as Adam Cross takes on "The Eraser" Kevin Ultra, in what is sure to be a Hell of a match up! We then head backstage, where Christina Mauro is standing in with Adam Cross!
Christina Mauro stands hold the microphone, standing in a silver dress as Adam Cross stands close, wearing a black hood over his head, and looking very focused.
Mauro:
This is Christina Mauro here, and I'm standing in with "The Incredible" Adam Cross, who looks to advance even further in the Heavyweight championship tournament tonight; however, he will face of the biggest challenges perhaps of his career as he takes on "The Eraser" Kevin Ultra. Adam, how are you feeling tonight?
Cross:
Christina, I'll be honest, I've been hearing a lot of things this week from the fans, "the experts", everybody out there praising Kevin Ultra. Everybody wants to point to his opening round match and just how dominant he was, how he decimated his opponent, while I had a Hell of a fight with Jack Dagger in the main event. They point to that and say Kevin Ultra is the favorite, he's more cut throat, more ruthless, he's more devastating than Adam Cross. Kevin, tonight, all those people, they've lit a fire under me... you've lit a fire under Adam Cross, and tonight, I'm coming for a fight and I'm going to be the only man walking out!
Cross storms off, as Christina looks a little concerned.
Shane Frost vs. Vincent Void
Two heavy hitters collide here in the first round of the Cruiserweight title tournament, as the technically savvy Shane Frost finds himself across the ring from the Finnish striker known as Void. Frost would show his brains and attack the legs throughout the contest, but Vincent Void impressed the fans with his toughness and his technique, while drawing them in with his mystique and mannerisms. Frost would land some big shots late in the match, delivering a running elbow in the corner, followed by a Running Sliding Elbow to his standing opponent, but couldn't get the three count. Frost would pick up Void and go looking for the Frost Bite (Fireman's Carry Gutbuster), but Void would block it and deliver a standing Double Stomp, followed by a Spinning Back Kick to his kneeling opponent! Void would then head up top and look out, stone faced and ominously towards the crowd, before leaping off at a high altitude and crashing down on Frost with his Call to the Void (Diving Double Stomp), taking Frost out for the three count!
We head backstage, where we see one of the next competitors of the evening standing in by the name of Dean Archer. Archer is wearing a towel around his neck and a satin black bomber jacket.
Archer:
My name is Dean Archer, and that's a name you will be very familiar with soon here in TWE. You see, I'm "The Last of My Kind". I'm from a different school of thought than a lot of these failed gymnasts and karate drop outs. I'm an actual wrestler, who actually wrestles, and I don't need to flip or fly or do roundhouse kicks or any of that other crap to get the job done. I'm going to get my opponents down, and I'm going to beat them into submission. Tonight, I face a so-called "luchadore" or, as I like to call them, luchaBORE, who thinks he's going to fly around and get the better of me. News flash, kid, tonight, I'm going to make short work of you and I'm going to show the world that real wrestling is alive and well, the leader of the movement is Dean Archer.
With that, Archer crosses his arms and the shot fades out and back to the commentary table.
Kalypto vs. "The Last of His Kind" Dean Archer
Archer talked a lot of trash before this match, but Kalypto showed that he knows a thing or two about working on the mat and he created some problems for Archer. Archer would show some frustration and really began opening up on Kalypto with European uppercuts, headbutts, knees, and chops, before tossing him with a Gutwrench suplex for a two count! Archer would punish Kalypto on the mat before locking on a leg scissors submission, but Kalypto got to the ropes to break it. Archer would proceed to hit a Knee Breaker, but attempting another leg submission, but Kalypto would hurry and roll him up with a Small Package, getting the pinfall! Archer is shocked, as are the fans, and Kalypto runs from the ring, celebrating emphatically!
Archer pounds the top turnbuckle and yells at the fans to stop cheering, this is a travesty! Kalypto advances, but Archer now seems enraged.
Backstage, we get a shot of the creepy Ryu Merrick warming up, stretching and doing some yoga looking moves in his red and black facepaint.
Merrick:
Darren Gray thinks he's a smart man... his pride will be his downfall. His intellect will fail, as will his ambitions, and all that will be left is a husk that I have claimed.
Merrick dips down and seemingly crawls away from the view find as we head to the ring for our next match in the Heavyweight title tournament.
Ryu Merrick vs. "The Paragon" Darren Gray
Darren Gray certainly seems cautious in this contest, as Ryu Merrick moves and serpentines in the ring like few others have before him. Gray and Merrick lock up, but Merrick shows his speed and agility by clamping onto Gray and pulling him down into a Triangle Choke! Gray looks panicked and manages to get to the ropes! Merrick lays into him with downward elbows as the referee counts to five, eventually breaking it up, but Gray looks stunned. Merrick crawls and makes his way to his feet before running and doing a cartwheel, delivering a Roundhouse Kick to Gray in the corner that sends him out of the ring! Merrick poses for a moment as the fans cheer on this enigmatic figure! Merrick then crawls to the buckles and up, positioning himself on top. Gray senses it and heads to the apron, where he runs and catches Merrick with a leaping high kick that sends him flying from the top and smacking face first off the announcer's table, turning the tides! Gray then heads to the top turnbuckle and flies off onto Merrick with a Frog-style Crossbody to the floor, getting a big pop! Gray tries to keep the momentum going, lifting Merrick into powerbomb position and trying to hit a Running Powerbomb into the railing, but Merrick reverses with a Huracanrana to change the tides again! Merrick sends Gray into the ring and then heads up top, flying off with his Morningstar finisher, but Gray moves and sends him crashing and burning. Gray pulls himself together and looks like he's thinking about hitting his Punt Kick finisher. Gray rushes Merrick, but Merrick quickly gets to his feet and grabs Gray onto his shoulders, delivering a The Solstice (Fireman's Carry into Overhead Kick)! Merrick tries for the cover, but Gray kicks out somehow! Merrick moves oddly, swaying back and forth to get up with a sinister look on his face. Merrick picks up Gray and tries to hook him into something, but Gray reverses with a School Boy, which he rolls Merrick through as he quickly gets to his feet. Merrick is on his knees and Gray BLASTS HIM with a Superkick! Gray motions to the fans and then grabs Merrick, hooking him into and looking for a Powerbomb into the buckles again, but Merrick reverses, executing a Sunset Flip and then delivering a Standing Double Stomp to his chest! Merrick then picks up Gray again, hooking him in again, and this time he delivers the Iconoclast (Cross Leg Scoop Driver), holding him down for the pinfall, but somehow Darren Gray STILL kicks out! Merrick looks around, looking uncharacteristically stunned. Merrick grabs Gray by the legs and surfboards him, pulling his arms back, and then delivers a Surfboard Curbstomp! Gray looks out, but Merrick isn't done. Merrick drags Gray towards the turnbuckles and then taunts the fans, before crawling up the buckles. Gray, though, shows a burst of life and dives at Merrick, crotching him on the top! Gray then grabs the rope and leaps, kicking Merrick in the face! Gray then climbs up and grabs Merrick, lifting and hoisting him, twisting as he does and plants Merrick in the middle of the ring with a DIVING SUPERBOMB! Merrick springs off the mat, rolling to his hands and knees and looking very damaged, holding his back. Gray gets up, looking worn and bounces off the ropes, measuring him up and PUNT KICKING MERRICK STRAIGHT TO THE TEMPLE! Merrick does a spin and looks lifeless on the mat, as Gray drops back, hooking the near leg and the referee makes the count! ONE, TWO, THREE, IT'S ALL OVER, DARREN GRAY ADVANCES, BUT WHAT A FIGHT!
After the match, Merrick sits up, his eyes drawn down in the realization that he just lost. Merrick approaches Gray, his head cocked and he whispers to him and then turns and leaves. Gray looks unsettled, but he continues to celebrate before we head backstage.
We go backstage one more time, as Kevin Ultra stands next to a poster of Adam Cross.
Ultra:
Look at this man... this "hero". Standing up against all odds, taking all comers, all his little fans worshiping his every move and make believing that he's the best wrestler in the world. You see, Adam, you're not used to it, I know, but it wasn't you everyone was talking about, it was me... it was me they were impressed with, me that they were projecting to win this tournament, and after hearing your words tonight, I know it got to you. You're not used to not being the center of attention. You're not used to be questioned as to whether or not you're the best performer on any given night. But there's a new best, and he's far more dangerous, far more driven, and far less caring than you, Adam, and his name is "The Eraser". I don't feel pity or remorse, I don't show mercy. I won't be bought, I won't be reasoned with, and I will not stop, ever. The Heavyweight championship? It's not enough. I want your total destruction... I will ERASE, until there is nothing left.
Ultra slaps his hand across the face of Cross on the poster, leaving black paint splattered on it and making his face unrecognizable as we cut back to the ring.
"The Incredible" Adam Cross vs. "The Eraser" Kevin Ultra
These two both like to make an entrance, and after doing so, the fans went dueling back and forth with competing chants as they anticipated the first action of the match. This match began at a very high pace, and it never really seemed to slow down, as both men had something to prove and didn't want to let up. Ultra would show Cross no respect, bad mouthing him throughout and slapping him many times, trying to push him to go harder. Cross would unleash flurries of strikes, trying to break Ultra's face and body it seemed many times, but Ultra would somehow eat it like a monster and come back, maybe even harder, trying to knock Cross's head off, especially with his Sawed Off Knee Strikes (Short Arm Bicycle Knee), which he would use repeatedly to knock Cross for a loop. On the outside, Ultra would wrap a cord around Cross' throat and try to choke the life out of him before laying him across the announcer's table and blasting him with punches. Ultra would then go to the apron and run, leaping off the middle turnbuckle and going for a High Speed Moonsault on Cross, but Cross would dodge it and Ultra would smash through the table abdomen and waist first as Cross barely escaped, causing a lot of damage to "The Eraser"! Cross would roll into the ring holding his ribs, but would wait and stalk Ultra on the outside before running and twisting, leaping out with a Fosbury Flop to take Ultra down hard again! Cross would then pick up Ultra and whip him, slamming him so hard into the railing that he flipped over the rail to the floor! Cross would get the fans fired up, clapping and motioning to them, before removing his elbow pad! He would then run and leap, completely clearing the guardrail and smashed into Ultra with a Flying Elbow into the crowd! Both men lay out of the floor before Cross stirred and grabbed Ultra, but Ultra would gauge his eyes and deliver a DDT onto the concrete! From there, Ultra would grab a chair and try to choke the life out of Cross with it before throwing it down on him, hard! Ultra would twist his arm and then pull him into ANOTHER Sawed Off Knee Strike, before grabbing him and lifting him into the suplex position before dropping him chest first onto the guardrail, sending him flying back over ringside in a lot of pain! Ultra would set up a chair and measure up Cross before running and climbing up the chair, propelling himself off the guardrail, and hitting a Fame Asser variation to Cross onto the floor! Ultra would mock the fans and Cross, kicking him lightly across the face before sending him into the ring. Ultra would then slingshot himself over the ropes, springboarding off the middle turnbuckle and delivered a Moonsault, trying to keep Cross down but only getting a two count! Ultra calls for the end here, and picks up Cross by his arm, kneeing him to the head again and then hooking him in, looking for the Zenpakuto (Lifting Single Underhook DDT), but Cross blocks it and breaks free, blasting Ultra with strikes low and high before delivering a Roaring Elbow! Cross hooks the leg, but only a two count! Cross lifts up Ultra and seems to be looking for the Crossfire (Cross-Arm Powerbomb), but Ultra breaks free and hits another high knee, before pulling him in and hitting the Zenpakuto! Ultra hooks the leg, but "The Incredible One" somehow kicks out at two, and Ultra can't believe it! Ultra backs off and stalks Cross again, attempting to rush in with a knee strike, but Cross dodges it to the side, pushing Ultra away, before leaping up and delivering a Backflip Kick, taking Ultra off his feet! Cross rolls to the apron and lays in wait as Ultra pulls himself up on the ropes. Cross springboards, coming off with HIGH altitude and delivering the Incredible Elbowstrike! Ultra is knocked for a loop and Cross hooks the leg, but Ultra STILL kicks out! Cross lifts him back up and lands a couple of open hand shots and tries for a low spin kick, but Ultra dodges it and tries another high knee, but Cross dodges it and then leaps at him, taking him down with a leg scissors and he locks on the HEEL DESTROYER (Grounded Grapevine Heel Hook) and Ultra looks to be in anguish! Ultra looks close to tapping, but he fights it with everything he has, very animatedly pulling and pushing himself until he makes it to the bottom rope in the nick of time! Cross used a lot of energy there, but tries to keep the pressure on, kicking Ultra's leg and then again trying to pull him into the Crossfire, but Ultra drops to a knee. Cross pulls him up and tries for a Spinning Backchop, but Ultra catches him and delivers a fast Dragon Suplex, followed by a Shining Wizard, showing his amazing stamina! Cross is down and hurt, but somehow kicks out at two AGAIN, amazing the fans, as everyone is standing on their feet now. Ultra calls for the end and pulls Cross in, doing a throat slash motion before trying to lift him up into a Canadian Rack, but Cross reverses it, using a Sunset Flip to get a two count! Cross hurries as Ultra tries to hurry back to his feet, but Cross lands ANOTHER Backflip Kick, this time to the back of Ultra's head as he tries to get up, sending him back down to his hands and knees! Cross turns his back to Ultra and again does a backflip, but this time he sends his KNEES into the back of Ultra's head, smashing him face first into the mat! Cross then lifts Ultra off the mat, crossing his arms and hoisting him up, SPINNING AND DRILLING HIM WITH THE CROSSFIRE! He holds Ultra down, looking desperate, and the referee counts... ONE... TWO... THREE! It's all over!
The fans give both men a standing ovation! Chants for Cross echo throughout the arena. Cross celebrates and waits for Ultra to get to his feet. Cross tries to offer Ultra a handshake, and Ultra, who looks to the crowd, actually accepts... NO! NO, HE PULLS CROSS IN AND BLASTS HIM WITH THE BICYCLE KNEE STRIKE! He then pulls him in and delivers ANOTHER ZENPAKUTO! What a disgrace! kevin Ultra stands over Cross, smiling a sadistic smile and yelling, "ERASE!" as the show comes to an end and the cheers have turned to boos.
