The show begins with a knock on Dario Cueto’s – er, Alberto El Patron’s – office door. He tells The Crew to answer it. It’s Prince Puma and he wants to speak to Alberto. He says that he’s hopeful that with new management around here, he’ll get fairer treatment than he did when Dario Cueto was in charge. Alberto believes he’s a fair man and asks Puma what he’s looking for. Puma recounts what happened to him at Ultima Lucha, where he won the opportunity to main event Ultima Lucha Dos, but had it taken away from him due to a twist that he thinks was orchestrated by “Classy” Freddie Blassie. Puma wants to avenge his loss in a fair one-on-one contest and he wants to be in the Ultima Lucha Dos main event. Alberto tells Puma that he will wrestle The Miz in tonight’s main event, and if he wins, then he can be in the main event of Ultima Lucha Dos. After Puma leaves, Mr. Cisco and Castro Cortez give him a look of confused suspicion. Alberta looks back at them with a grin and tells them that he won’t win.

Cesaro defeated Baron Corbin by pinfall. The former Lucha Underground Champion was in excellent form in his first match since losing the championship at Ultima Lucha. He stunned his larger opponent with an array of European uppercuts, including when he got the crowd to count along as he whipped Corbin from one corner to the other and followed with a European uppercut each time. After eight of those, Corbin put an end to that by stepping out of the corner and giving Cesaro the Deep Six. That gave Corbin the chance to mount a comeback, but a plan to superplex Cesaro failed, with Cesaro shoving him from the top rope and nailing him with a diving European uppercut, instead. A few minutes later, after being in the Cesaro Swing, Corbin found himself in a Sharpshooter. He made it to the ropes, but he didn’t make it much longer in the match, as a missed running clothesline led to him receiving a standing dropkick and then the Neutralizer.

Pentagon Jr. defeated Eric Young by pinfall. Although he was ostensibly the rudo in this match, Pentagon Jr. was heavily cheered. Eric Young received a nice pop for his first appearance in the Temple. The veteran put up a solid fight, attacking Pentagon Jr. with a variety of suplexes, while occasionally going for something more high-risk from the top rope, like a diving clothesline and a front missile dropkick. It even looked like he might win the match with a bridging wheelbarrow suplex, but Pentagon Jr. lifted a shoulder up at the last moment. Pentagon Jr. was extremely methodical with his offense, preferring knife-edge chops, open-palm strikes/chops, and shoot kicks to Young’s calves and thighs. He targeted his limbs and periodically threw something with more impact at him, like an implant DDT and a death valley driver on the ring apron that was executed late in the match. Within a minute of executing this move and ramming Young’s head into the turnbuckle post, Pentagon Jr. won the match using a Pentagon Driver.
Following his victory, Pentagon Jr. grabbed a microphone and announced that he is planning his next sacrifice – the Lucha Underground Champion, Ultimo Dragon! On commentary, Matt Striker looked to Vampiro for his thoughts. Vampiro said that he’s shooting for the stars too quickly. Pentagon Jr. then said that if Ultimo Dragon does not come out and grant him a title match, he’ll sacrifice Eric Young to his Master. When he didn’t appear, Pentagon Jr. dropped the microphone and grabbed Young, who fought with him just long-enough to prevent his arm from being broken, as Ultimo Dragon finally came out and told Pentagon Jr. that if he released Young, he’d get the title match he’s looking for, next week. Pentagon Jr. let go of Young, who rolled out of the ring and stumbled away looking completely disoriented.

Just outside the Temple walls, near the back-alley entrance/exit, we see the “Macho King” Randy Savage get out of a car, wearing his royal crown and holding his royal sceptre, items he regained after defeating Eddie Guerrero at Ultima Lucha. He is seen by some of the Believers who could not get in to the packed Temple. They rush over and ask for autographs. He decides to perform a public service for his “loyal subjects” and obliges them. Then, the door opens and the “Swiss Superman” Cesaro walks out. Suddenly, the Believers bolt over to see the former Lucha Underground Champion and ask to get his autograph. He starts signing autographs, but is suddenly attacked by Savage. In a fit of jealous rage, he throws him against the wall and then whips him head first into the hard metal door. As he carries out his beating, Savage says things like, “How dare you try to upstage the Macho King?!” and “Nobody challenges my claim to the throne! Nobody!”

Paige defeated Lluvia by submission. Paige was in control for most of this match, but Lluvia found a few moments of life and nearly won the match with a springboard crossbody into a lateral press, and again later when she executed a wheelbarrow bulldog and made a quick cover to get a 2-count. A late match rally showed promise for the popular luchadora, but Paige put an end to it with a Paige-Turner and then put Lluvia in the Paige Tap-Out.
After winning the match, she was joined in the ring by Mr. Cisco and Castro Cortez, who helped her put the boots to Lluvia. Sexy Star came out to try to make the save, and while it looked like she might succeed, the 3-on-1 situation was too much for her to handle. It led to her getting some kendo stick shots from Cortez, a diving senton bomb from Mr. Cisco and a Ram-Paige DDT from Paige.

We see a disoriented Eric Young stumbling around a dark corridor. He’s holding his head and calling out for anyone to help him find the locker room. Between being in the Temple for the first time and taking some nasty bumps on the head, it’s little wonder that he’s dazed and confused. He hears a voice call out “Come this way! Come this way!” He follows the voice until he reaches a door and opens it. He walks in and sees an open room with prison cell bars in it. This is the room where Dario Cueto used to keep his brother. Young says, “WTF,” under his breath and then turns around to see the door slam shut. Then, the light in the room begins to flicker and the sound of loud laughter can be heard. Young grabs at the sides of his head and falls to the floor.

The Miz defeated Prince Puma by pinfall. Prince Puma overwhelmed The Miz early on with his speed. He was quick with his attacks, which consisted of various kicks, headscissors, hurricanranas, and flips. Even when The Miz tried to escape the barrage by exiting the ring, he couldn’t catch a break, as Puma took him out with an over the top rope corkscrew moonsault plancha!
To stop this match from being a route, “Classy” Freddie Blassie had to interfere on behalf of The Miz. After Puma rolled The Miz back into the ring, Blassie hit Puma between the shoulder blades with his cane. Blassie quickly made his getaway, but Puma followed and got a baseball slide from The Miz, who came outside and began his comeback by ramming Puma into the turnbuckle post and giving him a suplex on the floor. For the next several minutes, The Miz was in control. He tried to win the match with a figure four, but Puma eventually reversed the pressure and forced a rope break. The Miz went for the Skull-Crushing Finale, but Puma slipped free and gave him a Pelé kick.
Puma’s comeback was fast and it culminated with a long 2-count on a northern lights suplex transitioned immediately into a deadlift vertical suplex. After that, Puma went to the top turnbuckle, and that’s when he was shoved off the top turnbuckle. A group of luchadores wearing Los Perros del Mal t-shirts began their assault, all unseen by the referee as Blassie distracted him (not that it would matter anyway, as there are no disqualifications in the Temple). They were identified by Matt Striker and Vampiro as Perro Aguyao Jr., Héctor Garza, and Daga. They sent Puma back into the ring, where The Miz grabbed him, gave him the Skull-Crushing Finale, and pinned him for the win.
After The Miz won, he quietly left the ring and disappeared with Blassie as Los Perros del Mal continue their attack on Puma. Aguyao gave Puma a Perrito Driver (low blow). Daga gave him a belly-to-back inverted falcon arrow, Garza gave him Tornillo (a corkscrew moonsault), and Aguyao finished him off with La Lanza (diving double-foot stomp). Alberto El Patron emerged from the office, entered the ring with a microphone and said that this Temple now belonged to Mexico, and that means that it won’t be Prince Puma in the main event of Ultima Lucha Dos, it will be Alberto El Patron!
