The show opens with a shot of a dark, dimly lit room. We see prison cell bars and a figure brooding in the shadows behind them. Then, a door to the room opens and Dario Cueto walks in. He has come in to tell his brother that tonight is finally the big night when he throws the biggest party in lucha history. He says that it is too bad that his brother couldn’t come up to see it, but he is sure that it will get loud enough for him to hear the entire event. Then, Cueto says he has a gift for him to mark the occasion and hands his brother a bottle of champagne through the cell bars. His brother holds it in his hands and looks at it, unsure of what it is or what it does. Cueto tells him it is champagne and it is meant for drinking. Then, he says he must go because it is time to start the show. The moment he walks out of the room and shut the door behind him, we see the champagne bottle get flung threw the bars and shatter against the door.

Elimination Tables Match
Aerostar vs. PJ Black vs. Tyler Breeze vs. Fénix vs. Juventud Guerrera vs. La Parka vs. Psicosis Ultima Lucha started out with a bang! In the Temple, we give the Believers what they want – and they also seem to want is tables! In this match, one luchador would have to avoid getting put through a table in order to win the Gift of the Gods. To do that, the winning luchador had to have more luck than six other luchadores. The odds of winning the Gift of the Gods was in no one’s favour.
The match got the Believers hyped up early with a display of seeming non-stop high-risk aerial attacks from the ring to the outside. Aero Star got it started by hitting La Parka like a cruise missile with a hands-free topé suicida. Next, Tyler Breeze took them both out with a plancha. Juventud Guerrera jumped into the fray by taking them all out with a springboard senton bomb. Psicosis was next to crash into the pile by executing a springboard Senton Psicosis (diving corkscrew senton bomb). Fénix really popped the crowd by executing a tight rope walk from the other side of the ring into a double-corner springboard moonsault to take everyone out! PJ Black, who was in full heel mode, indicated he was going to jump into the pile on the outside, but after bouncing off the ropes on the far side of the ring, put the brakes on, then turned his back on everyone and walked away, earning huge heel heat from the Believers. It also earned him a gift from the Chairman of Lucha Underground – a steel chair attack!
The first table introduced into the match was pulled out from under the ring about a minute and a half into the match, but nothing happened to it. It was not until about the seven-minute mark when a table finally made it into the ring and was stood up on its legs. The first victim was Juventud Guerrera, who attempted a springboard hurricanrana on Black, but ended up getting dropped through a table with a spin-out powerbomb instead. A few minutes later, Breeze tried to give La Parka the Unprettier, but he shoved Breeze into a superkick from Fénix, who then picked him up and placed him on a table, which was then destroyed by Psicosis, who executed a Psycho Guillotine leg drop on Breeze to eliminate him. Psicosis didn’t last much longer as La Parka, his sometimes tag team partner picked him up and knocked him out with a DDT onto the open seat of a steel chair. Then, he stood on the chair with Psicosis in his clutches and executes a leaping cradle piledriver from the chair through a table!
Several more minutes would pass with Aero Star, La Parka, Fénix, and Black engaged in a tough battle. Aero Star and Black, who developed a bitter rivalry were engaged in a brawl that saw Black get the better of Aero Star. After giving Aero Star an inverted crucifix cutter on the floor, Black went for a huge spot by laying him on a table and climbing onto the railing of one of the raised bleachers. Black went for a 450 splash, but Aero Star moved and Black crashed through the table! “Holy shit! Holy shit! Holy shit!” As per the rules of the match, as no one put Black through the table, he was not eliminated. Back in the ring, about a minute later, Fénix put La Parka through a table with a Spanish fly! That earned a big pop and a
“This is awesome!” chant broke out.
Aero Star brought a table into the ring, but before he could do anything with it, Fénix attacked him, and they ended up fighting back-and-forth. Aero Star seemed to be get the best of the exchange until he whipped Fénix to the ropes, which was when Fénix countered with a handspring rope-assisted slingshot cutter. Before he could capitalize, Black nailed with a springboard missile dropkick. Black was quick to set up the table, but he received the Déja Vu double tilt-a-whirl headscissors takedown from Aero Star, who then charged at Fénix but was sent over the top rope with a back body drop. Fénix saw Black getting up and went for a superkick. He evaded it and then nailed Fénix with an enzuigiri kick. Then, Black put Fénix on the table and executed a springboard moonsault on him to put him through the table.
Down to the final two! It is fitting then that the final two are Aero Star and Black, bitter enemies who began as trios partners in the very first match in the the Temple (See Cesaro, Aero Star & PJ Black vs. the Heenan Family in Lucha Underground S1Ep1). After a few more minutes of strikes and springboard attacks, Black pulls off an impressive handspring front leap to block his head from hitting the mat on a tornado DDT, then lifts Aero Star onto his shoulders and executes the ushigoroshi (adopted from AJ Styles). With Aero Star down and out, Black gets a table, sets it up in the ring and puts Aero Star on it. Black goes out and climbs the turnbuckle. Before he reaches the top, Aero Star gets off the table and hops onto the turnbuckles to attack Black. After some fists and headbutts are exchanged, it is Aero Star who wins the exchange by giving Black a Frankensteiner that sends him through the table! Aero Star does it – he outlasts six other luchadors to win the Gift of the Gods!
Winner of the Gift of the Gods: Aero Star ***
VS. Steel Cage Match
Sexy Star vs. Paige These luchadoras became big enemies and this match was a long time in the making. Sexy Star entered the ring with a ton of confidence and an overwhelming desire to finally get her hands on Paige. However, Paige wasn’t ready to let her do that so easily. Paige brought a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire with her to the ring. She got into a heated argument and a small scuffle with referees as she tried to enter the ring with the bat. She shook them off, but was hit with a running dropkick to the back, sending her baseball bat flying out of her hands. Sexy Star left the ring and beat her senselessly all around ringside, including giving her a hairpull toss onto the hardwood bleachers on the far end of the Temple. When she finally tosses her into the ring and pounded away at her face and head with fists, the cage was finally lowered on the ring. Sexy Star had her way with Paige for a solid two minutes before she went for the first pin of the match, which still only earned a 2-count.
As pinning Paige didn’t win her the match, it looked like Sexy Star decided to go over the top of the cage. As she got on the top turnbuckle and started climbing the cage, Paige rushed over and got her hands on her foot. She pulled Sexy Star back down to the turnbuckle and after some headbutts, hip tossed Paige off the top turnbuckle. After that, she connected with a missile dropkick and went for a pin that Sexy Star kicked out of at the count of one. Over the next few minutes, Paige went on the offensive. She wore Sexy Star down with kicks, suplexes and some holds the targeted the head and neck. None of that could get Sexy Star to give up or stay down for a 3-count, so Paige finally lifted Sexy Star over her shoulder and sent her face first into the side of the cage with a battering ram. When Sexy Star got up, Paige gave her a taste of her own medicine by dropkicking her in the back, sending her body slamming into the cage once more.
After Paige left Sexy Star laying on the ring apron, she went to the other side of the ring to climb out of the cage. Sexy Star stopped her from leaving, pulled her down onto the top rope. After elbowing her hard in the face, she fell back into the center of the ring where Sexy Star gave her a splash and then pinned her for a 2-count. The next couple of minutes saw them go back and forth, trading high impact moves and stopping each other from leaving the ring. Sexy Star dazzled the Believers by springboarding off the top rope and giving Paige a hurricanrana off the other top rope. Paige got the Believers chanting
“This is Awesome!” by lifting Sexy Star onto her shoulders and falling off the top turnbuckle with a Samoan drop.
After back and forth punches and headbutts, Paige leaned back and dropped Sexy Star with a side kick. She was going for the Paige Tap Out, but Sexy Star blocked it and managed to pull her to the mat into a cross-arm breaker. At that point, it looked like the match was bound to end, but Mr. Cisco and Castro Cortez, appearing for the first time in months, were climbing the cage. They entered the ring and attacked Sexy Star. Cortez hit her with his kendo stick and Mr. Cisco threw her into the side of the cage. He whipped Sexy Star into a superkick from Cortez, and then he climbed the top turnbuckle and gave her a diving senton bomb. They handed Sexy Star over to Paige, who then gave her a Ram-Paige DDT. Then, she made the cover. 1…2…3! Paige steals the victory with the help of Cortez and Mr. Cisco, and celebrates her win with them. But why?

Pentagon Jr. is kneeling in the center of a dojo. Around the perimeter of the room, a figure cloaked in a large hooded-garment – like monk’s clothe – walks around and gives Pentagon Jr. a speech. His master tells him that tonight is his final test. If he succeeds in destroying the legendary master of the dark arts, Vampiro, then he will prove he is worthy and ready to ascend to the top of the lucha food chain. There will be nothing that can stop him from achieve lucha immortality. However, if he fails, he will prove that he will never be ready to make that next step, and so his master he will have no choice but to forsake him in favour of someone more worthy. Pentagon Jr. tells him there is no one more worthy than him. He says that he will make his master proud because he has cero miedo! The master tells Pentagon Jr. to get up and go to the Temple. It is time for his final test.

VS. Twice As Good As You
2 Out of 3 Falls Match
Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Kurt Angle It’s time to find out which luchador is twice as good as the other. Our arbitrary unit of measurement is the number of pinfalls or submissions one can get over the other one.
The match begins with Angle and Nakamura grappling and exchanging many holds. There is no one better at working on the mat than the Olympic Gold Medallist, but the King of Strong Style shows an aptitude to work that style that seemed to surprise Angle. Back on their feet, an arm-and-collar tie up ends up with both wrestlers switching spots leaning against the ropes a few times before the referee interceded. Nakamura tried to get into Angle’s head by releasing him and leaving his head against Angle’s chest with his arms dangling as if in the wind. Angle was unimpressed and immediately tried to take Nakamura down, but got a knee lift in defence, and then several more knee lift strikes that backed him up into the ropes again. After this forced rope break, Angle didn’t wait for the referee to signal them to go back at it. He grabbed Nakamura around the waist, took him down and then went Greco-Roman on him until Nakamura’s only way to break free was to get out to the ropes and slide out to the floor.
Nakamura returned to the ring, and the action picked up, with both wrestlers trading holds and maneuvers, but neither one getting a clear advantage until a failed Angle Slam attempt was met with a roundhouse kick that missed, followed immediately by a spinning heel kick that connected. Angle attempted to get up, but Nakamura delivered a jumping knee drop to the back of head that kept him down. Nakamura was now in the driver’s seat and he focused his attack on Angle’s neck and head, a smart plan of attack considering Angle’s history of neck problems. When Nakamura went for a diving Bomaye off the top turnbuckle, Angle moved and then gave Nakamura a release German suplex. Then he gave him two more before putting Nakamura in the ankle lock. He quickly flipped onto his back and kicked Angle with his free foot to get out of the holds in a matter of seconds. Angle charged at him and got back dropped over the top rope and onto the floor. Nakamura met him with a suicide dive through the ropes, then took him back into the ring. After a slingshot crossbody into a lateral press only earned a 2-count. Nakamura blocked Angle’s on-coming attack and countered with an exploder suplex. He followed that up with a reverse exploder suplex and then delivered the fatal blow – the Bomaye! 1-2-3! Nakamura was up 1-0.
When they got going again, Angle was in desperation mode and could be seen frantically trying to tie it up as quickly as possible. He would give Nakamura an arm drag, leg drag or hip toss, then go for the Angle Slam but fail, and then execute a variation of a suplex instead and pin for a 2-count, then rinse and repeat. The strategy of constantly trying to force the Angle Slam was not working. Nakamura had clearly scouted it and was constantly blocking or escaping in mid-move. He became frustrated and decided to try something big. However, Angle’s high-risk maneuvers never seem to hit the mark. Angle had taken Nakamura out to the floor and gave him a German suplex on the floor. Then, he put Nakamura on a table that he brought out from under the ring, then climbed up to the top turnbuckle of the ring and went for a moonsault! Of course, Nakamura moved and Angle went through the table!
“Holy shit! Holy shit! Holy shit!” Now, all Nakamura had to do was get Angle back in the ring. Once he rolled him into the ring, he pinned him. 1…2… shoulder up!
So the match continued with Nakamura nailing Angle with several knee strikes while he was on the ground. He took Angle into the corner and lifted him across the top ropes, did a reverse somersault and ran in to connect with a big knee lift to the mid-section. Nakamura grabbed Angle and went for the reverse exploder suplex, but Angle landed on his hands and feet! This time he timed his attack perfectly as Nakamura was getting up and executed the Angle Slam! He immediately covered for the 1-2-3! Then, Angle rolled out of the ring for a breather on the floor. We’re all tied at one and now the next fall wins!
When Angle finally got to his feet, he climbed onto the ring apron, where he was met by Nakamura giving him knee strikes through the ropes. Angle and Nakamura jostled for leverage around the ropes. Who would succeed to pull off the suplex? Angle finally got the better of the exchange, but Nakamura twisted his hips and landed on the ring apron. Angle punched Nakamura and gave Angle some kicks to the legs in return. Angle managed to get Nakamura in a waist lock and tried to give him a German suplex off the ring apron, but Nakamura clung to the ropes with all his might! Nakamura gave Angle several back elbows to the side of the head to get him to let go and fall to the floor. When Angle got up, Nakamura took a running start and delivered a diving Bomaye from the ring apron to the floor! Angle appeared to be out cold. Nakamura pulled Angle’s lifeless body over to the ring and rolled him in. He pinned. 1…2… shoulder up! Wow!
Nakamura got up, went to the far corner and signalled he was going to give him another one. The anticipation in the Temple grew. Angle got to his feet. Nakamura charged at him. As he went for it, Angle did the unthinkable – he countered it into an Angle Slam! But, he was so out of it that he couldn’t make the pin right away. By the time he did, Nakamura got his shoulder up at 2.75! Angle got up and pulled his shoulder straps down. Oh-oh, he means business. Nakamura started to get up and Angle chopblocked him down and put him in the ankle lock. Nakamura spun around going for the ropes, while Angle kept pulling him back to the centre of the ring. Finally, Angle got down to the mat and applied a leg grapevine. However, Nakamura was stuck and it took all his strength to drag himself to the ropes to force a break. On a bad wheel, Nakamura got to his feet. Angle came over and Nakamura gave him a few shoot kicks with his hurt foot. Angle finally blocked one, but then Nakamura delivered an enzuigiri kick! He pinned, but Angle got a shoulder up. Nakamura brought Angle into the corner and kicked him several times before lifting him onto the top turnbuckle. After a battle on the top turnbuckle, Angle shoved him to the mat and gave him a frog splash! He covered. 1…2… shoulder up! Unbelievable!
Angle picked up Nakamura and gave him rolling German suplexes (they were slow this late in the match). He went for a final release German suplex on the last one, but Nakamura flipped in the air and landed on his hands and knees. As soon as Angle got back to his feet, he nailed him with an unexpected Bomaye, and immediately flopped his lifeless body down on top of Angle’s lifeless body. 1-2-3! Nakamura wins! Nakamura wins!

VS. VS. VS. Battle of the Bulls Tournament Finals
Dean Ambrose vs. Prince Puma vs. Bad News Brown vs. Baron Corbin Each of the luchadores in this fatal fourway match had to beat three other luchadores in a previous fatal fourway match to make it into tonight’s Battle of the Bulls tournament finale. However, unlike during the first round, this match is not one-final-to-a-finish, rather it is being contested under elimination rules. And the winner of the bout will win a “unique opportunity” courtesy of Dario Cueto.
The Believers became closely acquainted with the luchadores, as they took the fight out into the crowd on a few occasions. Corbin made the Believers at ringside disperse when he gave Ambrose a running hip toss into the wooden chairs at ringside. Meanwhile, Puma and Brown took the fight up the stairs and into the higher regions of the Temple. Brown gave Puma a snap suplex on the hard concrete and left him to go fight with his old Trios partners. Back in the ring, Corbin gave Ambrose the Deep Six and pinned him, but he kicked out. As soon as Corbin got up, Brown chop blocked him and then started working over his knee with vices, wrapped-leg knee drops, and seated sentons directly to the knee. Brown turned him over into a single-leg crab, but Corbin eventually made it to the ropes. Brown was forced to release the hold, and as he did, he got taken down with a diving clothesline by Ambrose. Brown got up and Ambrose took him down with a running crossbody block and then punched him multiple times. Ambrose got up, ran to the ropes, and as Brown used the ropes to get up, hit him with a front dropkick that sent him outside the ring.
Ambrose waited to line him up for a suicide dive, but as he was building up steam, Corbin cut him off with a running big boot. He went for the pin, but Ambrose kicked out. Corbin grabbed Ambrose and tried to set him up for the End of Days, but Ambrose fought his way out of it and managed to get Corbin on the mat with a double leg takedown, after which he proceeded to punch him repeatedly. When Ambrose got up, he was given a release German suplex from Brown, who then gave Corbin a side belly-to-belly suplex and a jumping knee drop. He pinned, but Corbin kicked out. Brown picked up Corbin and went for a whip, but it was reversed. Brown clung to the ropes, so Corbin charged at him, but ended up running right into a Ghetto Blaster! 1-2-3! Baron Corbin was the first luchador eliminated.
When Brown got up, he was met with a missile dropkick from Puma, who had finally returned to the ring. Puma went back to the top turnbuckle and hit Brown next with a diving meteora. As Brown was getting to his feet, he gave him a northern lights suplex followed immediately by a deadlift vertical suplex. He pinned him, but Brown kicked out at two. As Puma got up, Ambrose hit him with a front dropkick that knocked him out to the ring apron. Then, Ambrose gave him a running forearm smash to knock him down to the floor. Next, Ambrose gave him a suicide dive. As he went to pick up Puma, jumped off the ring apron and gave him a leg drop across the back of his neck! Brown stomped at both luchadores before picking up Ambrose and whipping him towards the ring apron. Ambrose swept off of the ring apron and rebounded to nail Brown with a variation of his Lunatic Lariat. When he went to grab Puma, he got a kick to the midsection to create distance between them, and then Puma rolled forward and leapt up to give Ambrose a jumping DDT!
Puma saw Brown stirring, so he grabbed him and whipped him into the turnbuckle post and then delivered a superkick. At this point, Brown was out on easy street, so Puma picked him up and tossed him into the ring. Puma climbed the turnbuckle and went for a 630-degree senton, but Brown put his knees up. Next, Brown gave Puma a Ghetto Blaster! Puma’s night is done. 1…2… shoulder up! No! Brown can’t believe it. After arguing over the count with the referee, Brown was taken down with a lunatic fringe elbow drop from Ambrose! Then, he gave Brown a snap suplex and then a tornado DDT! Ambrose covered and Brown barely kicked out. He was in trouble and everyone knew it. Ambrose picked him up and all Brown could do was shove him into the corner. He ran in, but got a boot to the face and then a bulldog. Then, Ambrose picked him up and executed Dirty Deeds! 1-2-3! Bad News Brown is out of the match.
That left Ambrose and Puma, the two crowd favourites, to battle it out for the win. And battle it out they did. They battle inside of the ring, and outside of it. Ambrose connected with two suicide dives in a row, but on the third attempt, Puma gave him a Pele kick as he flew through the ropes. They brawled until they reached the hardwood bleachers where Ambrose gave Puma a snap suplex. When Ambrose went to return Puma to the ring, Puma gave him a rebound headscissors takedown. Then, he entered the ring, ran to the far ropes and executes an over-the-top-rope corkscrew moonsault plancha! Back in the ring, Puma gave Ambrose a Benadryller to get a 2-count. Ambrose gave Puma a headlock driver to get a 2-count. Puma gave Ambrose the 630-degree senton, but Ambrose still kicked out. About a minute later, Ambrose executed Dirty Deeds, but Puma kicked out. What would it take for one of these luchadores to be triumphant?
It would take Ambrose going for a lunatic fringe elbow drop, only to have Puma duck his head, catch him and counter with a northern lights suplex transitioned into a deadlift vertical suplex, transitioned into Vertigo (a spinning sit-out scoop slam piledriver). 1…2…3! Prince Puma wins the Battle of the Bulls tournament and a unique opportunity from Dario Cueto!
Winner of the Battle of the Bulls Tournament: Prince Puma With the match over, the sound of a trumpet signaled the impending arrival of Dario Cueto. He exited his office with a briefcase in hand. Cueto entered the ring and congratulated Puma on his victory and then said that he pleased to offer him a very special unique opportunity. He told Puma that for winning the Battle of the Bulls, his prize was an opprtunity to compete in the main event of next year’s Ultima Lucha for the Lucha Underground Championship, and if he had already managed to win it before then, he would get to compete for the Mash-Up World Heavyweight Championship! Puma looked like he couldn’t believe his fortune and began to celebrate, but then Cueto said, or if he would prefer, he could have $250 000 in cash (he opened to briefcase to show it was stuffed with cash. Puma didn’t have to think about it, he said he wanted to main event Ultima Lucha Dos!
Cueto accepted his choice, but as with all his unique opportunities, there was one catch. Puma won a unique opportunity to compete in the main event at Ultima Lucha Dos. Now, is his opportunity – by winning one more match, he will compete in the main event at Ultima Lucha Dos. The mood in the Temple just turned upside down. Cueto called out for Puma’s opponent as he stepped out of the ring.
That’s when Puma’s old mentor, “Classy” Freddie Blassie showed up at the top of the stairs to tell all of the pencil neck geeks in the Temple that he has a new protégé, one whose star burns brighter than all the other stars on Hollywood Boulevard, and he’s about to make Prince Puma old news. Introducing:
The Miz!
Like on Lucha Underground Episode 8, when Prince Puma won the Lucha Underground Championship tournament finals, only to find out that he had to immediately try to defeat a fresh Vader, Prince Puma once again had his prize taken away from him. It was a short match that saw Puma pull off a hurricanrana and tornado DDT, both as desperation counters to The Miz’s offence. However, those were the only moves he would get in. Blassie’s new client took care of Puma mostly by giving Puma several shoot kicks to the chest, some running dropkicks in the corner, an Awesome Clothesline, and then the Skull-Crushing Finale! 1-2-3! The Miz and “Classy” Freddie Blassie take the briefcase full of cash. Their celebration is met with utter disgust from the Believers.
Winner of $250 000 USD: The Miz ***
A stretch limousine is seen in the back alley behind the Temple. A door to the Temple opens and we see Castro Cortez, Mr. Cisco and Paige leave the building. They approach the limousine and the window rolls down. We hear a voice say,
“Did you get the job done?” Mr. Cisco replies,
“Yes, boss!” “Perfect! Now, get in so we can get out of here.” Cortez and Mr. Cisco climb in and then the voice tells Paige to wait. She stops suddenly, but then a man emerges from the limo and makes out with her for a few moments before slapping her backside and telling her to climb in. He looks around to make sure the alley is empty and then gets back inside. The window goes up and the limo pulls away. And who was that man?

VS. VS. Lucha Underground Championship
Triple Threat Match
Ultimo Dragon vs. Cesaro vs. Chris Jericho There are huge ramifications attached to the outcome of tonight’s main event. First, the winner of the match will be the Lucha Underground Champion going into our second season in Mash-Up Wrestling. Secondly, whoever is pinned or submits will be banished from Lucha Underground. Third, whoever is not involved in the pinfall or submission may not compete for the Lucha Underground Championship at all during the second season of the show. The stakes couldn’t be higher for everyone involved. Whereas the three luchadores in this match have been battling with one another over the Lucha Underground Champion for nearly half a year now, it is only fitting that we cap off this 3-way rivalry with such large stipulations.
Perhaps to no one’s surprise, the match began with Cesaro and Ultimo Dragon taking turns knocking Jericho around the ring. It’s not like he didn’t deserve it. They capped off their extended two-on-one beatdown of Jericho by giving him an Asai DDT and a Neutralizer, one after the other. While it was clear that pinning Jericho would end the match instantly, it was also clear that neither luchador would let that happen and they would finally have to turn their attention to one another. As they grappled and began to trade holds, Jericho rolled out of the ring and to the floor. Cesaro and Ultimo Dragon went through an extended chain wrestling sequence ending in a stalemate. They began again and after another long exchange of hold punctuated by escapes, counters, and reversals, they ended up in a stalemate, which earned a respectful applause from the Believers.
Finally, the pace picked up with Cesaro sending Ultimo Dragon into the ropes. He came back and took Cesaro down with tilt-a-whirl headscissors. He took him down again witn another tilt-a-whirl headscissors. When Cesaro got up, Ultimo Dragon gave him the Dragon Combo of kicks, then picked him up and gave him a double underhook backbreaker and went for the first pinfall of the match, which Cesaro kicked out of at the count of one. Ultimo Dragon drove knees and elbows into Cesaro’s neck and spine to try to soften him up. When he finished up with that, he ran to the ropes and went for another tilt-a-whirl headscissors, but this time Cesaro countered it into a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker, and he pinned him for a 1-count. Cesaro began his comeback with some European uppercuts and then sent Ultimo Dragon flying across the ring with a gutwrench suplex. He picked him up and gave him another and another before pinning him. Ultimo Dragon kicked out at two. Then, Cesaro went to climb the turnbuckle, but Jericho got up and shoved him off the turnbuckle and down to the floor! Jericho, then climbed the turnbuckle and went for a missile dropkick, but Ultimo Dragon moved out of the way. He went for a running senton, but Jericho moved. Jericho attempted a running elbow drop, but Ultimo Dragon moved. Both of them got up and went for standing dropkicks at the same time. Then, they got up and paused in a stand off.
As the Believers cheered, the stand off was broken up by Jericho slapping Ultimo Dragon across the face and then giving him a side belly-to-back suplex. He ran to the ropes and gave Ultimo Dragon a flying forearm smash. Then he executed a double underhook powerbomb and pinned him by only placing a boot on his chest, while flexing and shouting
“I’m the king of the world!” Of course, Ultimo Dragon kicked out. Jericho went for a cross-corner whip, but Ultimo Dragon countered. He charged at him, but got a boot to the face. Jericho quickly hopped onto the second rope and this time hit the missle dropkick. He pinned, but Ultimo Dragon kicked out at two. Jericho brought him to his feet and went for the Codebreaker, but Ultimo Dragon blocked it and then turned over Jericho and put him in a reverse Indian deathlock. As Jericho struggled to get to the ropes, Cesaro came in and booted Ultimo Dragon to break it up. He back him into the ropes with European uppercuts and then clotheslined him to the floor. Cesaro turned around and received an enzuigiri kick from Jericho, who then pinned him. 1…2… kick out!
As Jericho took control, he went to work on Cesaro by giving him a series of backbreakers, culminating in a backbreaker submission hold. He broke the hold when he saw Ultimo Dragon climbing onto the ring apron. Jericho ran to the corner and nailed him with a corner-springboard dropkick. Jericho turned his attention back to Cesaro, laying into him with some chops and then whipping him. Cesaro clung to the ropes, so Jericho charged at him, and then went up and over with a back body drop. Next, Cesaro waited for Jericho to get up and then nailed him with a suicide European uppercut! When he got back to his feet, Ultimo Dragon took him down with an Asai moonsault!
Ultimo Dragon saw Jericho stirring, so he picked him up and rolled him into the ring. Next, he gave him a springboard hurricanrana into a cradle. 1…2.. kick out! Next, he ran to the ropes and then took Jericho down into a crucifix pin. 1…2.. kick out! Then, he went for a La Magistral pin, but again Jericho kicked out. After that, he gave Jericho his Dragon Combo of kicks and then gave him a bridging Aztec suplex. 1…2… kick out! Ultimo Dragon picked up Jericho and whipped him into the corner. He gave him a running dropkick and then whipped him into the opposite corner, where he gave him a running handspring back elbow, then pulled him out of the corner and executed a Tombstone piledriver! 1…2… Cesaro breaks it up!
Cesaro and Ultimo Dragon trade blows. Ultimo Dragon whipped Cesaro to the ropes, but got a springboard spinning European uppercut. Cesaro picked up Ultimo Dragon and after a double whip reversal, gave him a Very European uppercut! 1…2… kick out! When Cesaro got up, Jericho went for a Codebreaker, but Cesaro blocked it and then turned it into a Cesaro Swing! After several revolutions, he dropped Jericho and applied the Sharpshooter. Jericho tried to get to the ropes, but Cesaro pulled back towards the center of the ring. He was saved by Ultimo Dragon going for a springboard hurricanrana. Unfortunately for him, Cesaro saw it, let go of Jericho and counter with a powerbomb. Then, he sent him swinging and put him in the Sharpshooter. Ultimo Dragon was saved by Jericho, who gave Cesaro a one-handed bulldog and then a lionsault. 1…2… kick out! Next, Jericho applied the Walls of Jericho. Cesaro tried to get to the ropes, but Jericho pulled him back to the center of the ring. Cesaro held on just long enough for Ultimo Dragon to break it up by Jericho a one-handed bulldog. Then, he gave Jericho a lionsault, but Jericho kicked out of it.
Ultimo Dragon picked up Jericho and walked him into the corner. He nailed him with a bunch of kicks and then put him on the top turnbuckle. Ultimo Dragon attempted a Dragonsteiner, but Jericho held onto the top rope, and then performed a diving crossbody into a lateral press. The pinfall was broken up by Cesaro. He picked up Jericho and gave him some stiff European uppercuts until he knocked him down. Ultimo Dragon got up and Cesaro did the same to him. Then, he took him into the corner and put him on the top turnbuckle. He set up for a superplex. Jericho came into the corner and powerbombed Cesaro as he gave Ultimo Dragon a superplex. Jericho pinned Cesaro. 1…2… shoulder up! He pinned Ultimo Dragon. 1…2… shoulder up! Jericho cried out in frustration!
He took out his frustration on Cesaro by slapping him across the face and calling him a
“stupid idiot!” After a few slaps, Cesaro responded with a wicked European uppercut that made Jericho stumble backwards. Cesaro went for a running European uppercut, but Jericho moved and Cesaro hit Ultimo Dragon with it instead. When he turned around, he got the Codebreaker! 1…2… kick out! Jericho couldn’t believe it! However, instead of complaining about it, this time, he put Cesaro in the Liontamer. With the knee digging into the spine for extra leverage, Cesaro couldn’t go anywhere. He couldn’t move anywhere and teased tapping out, but refrained before seemingly passing out. However, as he appeared to pass out, Ultimo Dragon broke up the hold by putting Jericho in a Dragon Sleeper!
As he yanked back on the hold and then dug his knee into Jericho’s spine, it was obvious that Jericho could do nothing to escape. And after having knocked out Cesaro, it was obvious that there would be chance of being set free. In the end, Jericho tapped out. Ultimo Dragon was crowned the new Lucha Underground Champion! After Ultimo Dragon celebrated his victory and left the ring, Jericho made his final exit from the Temple to a chorus of
“Stupid Idiot! Stupid Idiot!” chants from the Believers.
