Vader defeated Prince Puma by pinfall. This match went over thirty minutes with the action going back and forth. Near the end of the match, Bobby “The Brain” Heenan stole “Classy” Freddie Blassie’s cane and hit Prince Puma with it when he was on the floor and Vader was creating a distraction for the referee. Moments later, Vader bodyslammed Prince Puma and gave him a Vader Bomb. He pinned Puma, but he kicked out. Meanwhile, Blassie got his hands on Heenan, but before he could get his revenge on the weasel, Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard arrived and attacked him. Back in the ring, Vader gave Prince Puma two more Vader Bombs, but Prince Puma would not give up. Then, Vader went for a moonsault, but Puma moved out of the way. He tried to rally, but Vader quickly regained control. After giving Prince Puma a powerbomb, Vader took him into the corner and gave him three more Vader Bombs before pinning him, this time for the win. After that many Vader Bombs, Prince Puma had to be taken out of the Temple on a stretcher.

Sensational Sherri enters Dario Cueto’s office and demands Samoa Joe’s blood. Cueto isn’t interested in giving her what she wants, citing that Batista failed the first time he gave her what she wanted. Sherri says that Joe was lucky last time and argues that he wouldn’t survive an encounter with “The Animal” if they were locked inside of a cage because there’s no way to escape from him. Cueto likes this idea and says that next week, Batista and Samoa Joe will fight inside of a steel cage until someone can’t get up, but if Batista fails, then both he and Sherri will be banished from the Temple.

Bad News Brown defeated Matt Sydal by pinfall. Sydal battled Brown hard. He popped the crowd with a big moonsault plancha from the turnbuckle to the floor and he came close to winning the match when he executed Aftershock. Later, Sydal attempted a springboard corckscrew moonsault, but Brown got out of the way and then hit Sydal on the chin with a thrust kick. After that, Brown gave him a double underhook powerbomb. That was the turning point in the match. A few minutes later, Brown executed the Ghetto Blaster and pinned him for the win.

Beth Phoenix defeated Cameron. This was Phoenix’s debut match and she had a very easy go of it. Phoenix dominated Cameron with big power moves, such as a military press slam, delayed vertical suplex and a sidewalk slam. After about three minutes, she executed the Glam Slam and pinned Cameron to pick up the win.

Cesaro defeated Ultimo Dragon by pinfall to retain the Lucha Underground Championship. This was an evenly contested match through the first ten minutes of the bout. However, the momentum went in Ultimo Dragon’s favour after he gave Cesaro an Asai moonsault that saw them land on the bottom of the concrete stairs. Cesaro was clearly favouring his back and Ultimo Dragon explointed this weekness by giving him a variety of backbreakers and applying different submission holds like the Boston crab, Mexican surfboard and a bow-and-arrow submission hold. Cesaro refused to quit. When Ultimo Dragon set up Cesaro for a Dragonsteiner, Cesaro held onto the top rope to block and then performed a diving European uppercut. Ultimo Dragon knocked over the referee as he was falling. When both wrestlers recovered, Ultimo Dragon gave Cesaro the Asai DDT, but he was then taken out with a missile dropkick by Chris Jericho! The self-proclaimed King of the World followed that up with a one-handed bulldog, lionsault and Codebreaker. After Jericho left the ring, Cesaro got up and found Ultimo Dragon trying to get to his feet. He grabbed him, executed the Neutralizer and pinned him for the win.
