The show opens with the new North American Tag Team Champions, Bret “The Hitman” Hart & Chris Jericho coming to the ring to cut a promo boasting about how they’ve proven to the world what they have been saying all along, which is that they are the best in the world at what they do – the best tag team there is, was and ever will be – and that holding the North American Tag Team Championship Titles is proof of that. They also boast about finally getting Edge & Christian in the ring and showing the world that these two ass clowns are not as great as they think they are. Edge & Christian come down to ringside and receive a pop when they announce that they are exercising their rematch clause want to take on Hart and Jericho, tonight! Hart and Jericho say they won’t defend the titles tonight, going on to say that they’re finally done with Edge and Christian and are ready to move on. Then, Rey Mysterio Jr. and Ultimo Dragon come to make their case for a title shot and so does the Vachon Brothers. The segment turns into a brawl that isn't broken up until the commercial break begins.
First Match: The new team of Rhino and Tajiri defeated Leo Burke & “Killer” Karl Krupp by pinfall when Tajiri pinned Krupp following a Buzzsaw Kick.
Second Match: Paige returned to action with a triumphant victory over Courtney Rush. Paige made Rush tap out to the Paige Tap Out. In a post-match interview with SoCal Val, Paige announces that she has her sights set on the Women’s Championship.
Third Match: Batista beats the Cuban Assassin by pinfall after giving him a Batista Bomb. After the match, Sensational Queen Sherri announces that she is hereby declaring that her Animal King is the number one contender for the International Heavyweight Championship and if anyone has a problem with that, then she welcomes that person to try to prove them wrong. Kurt Angle comes out and argues that their lack of integrity invalidates their claim and that he will gladly prove it. Sherri and Batista laugh at him and say that they aren’t afraid of the Olympic Gold Medalist, after all, Batista just beat him a few nights ago. Angle admits to it, but notes that Batista’s victory over him was tainted and pledges to make sure that Batista never becomes the International Heavyweight Champion.
Commissioner Billy Two Rivers comes out to the ring to make a few announcements. First off, he has decided to settle the question of who should face Bret Hart and Chris Jericho for the North American Tag Team Titles by holding a beat the clock challenge next week. The team that wins its match in the fastest time will earn a shot at the titles at Hellfire in Halifax! Next, he decides to settle the question of who should face Cesaro for the International Heavyweight Championship by holding a #1 contender’s match between Kurt Angle and Batista, which will also be held next week. However, it won’t be any ordinary match – it will be a steel cage match!
The segment doesn’t end there. Prince Nana and Rusev come to the ring to complain about the pervasive unfair treatment they have received and demand that Rusev get a chance to face Cesaro for the International Heavyweight Championship. Commissioner Two Rivers says that he’s been more than fair with Rusev, even giving him a chance to win the vacant title in a one-on-one match against Cesaro at Winter Warfare. As far as he’s concerned, Rusev needs to go to the back of the line and earn his opportunity all over again. Not happy with that answer, Rusev does the unthinkable – he gives Two Rivers a jumping side kick! Then, he picks up Two Rivers and sets him up for a swinging side slam. Prince Nana pleads with him not to do it, but he does it! Then, he puts the Commissioner in the Accolade. Many referees and security personnel come down. It takes a big effort to pry the Bulgarian Brute off of Two Rivers, who has to be taken out on a stretcher and leaves the arena in an ambulance.
Fourth Match: Owen Hart defeated Tyler Breeze by submission with the Sharpshooter, following a step-up enzuigiri kick that appeared to be a knockout blow. After the match, when Hart is celebrating, Pentagon Jr. attacks him, tossing him out of the ring and slamming him into the ringside barricade and the steel ring steps. Pentagon Jr. announces that he will sacrifice Hart to his master at Hellfire in Halifax!
Fifth Match: Gail Kim, Chyna & Jazz defeated Charlotte Flair, Natalya Neidhart and Ivelisse Vélez by pinfall when Kim pinned Charlotte after Chyna gave her the Pedigree. The referee lost track of who was the legal woman, and Kim immediately pounced on Charlotte as soon as Chyna finished giving her the Pedigree and rolling her over. Kim bragged a great deal about her team’s win after the match, while Chyna glared at her.
The new International Heavyweight Champion, the “Swiss Superman,” Cesaro comes to the ring to great fanfare. He is making his first televised appearance as the champion following his victory over Rusev for the vacant title. Cesaro starts cutting a promo about how he will take on all challengers and defend the title with honour, when he is suddenly cut off by the sound of “Dawn” by Richard Strauss. And then out comes the “Nature Boy” Ric Flair! He struts to the ring accompanied by three men in business suits, all of them carrying briefcases. Flair tells Cesaro that to be the man, you’ve got to beat the man and last time he checked, he was still the man – Woooo! Cesaro says that he respects Flair, but says that he won the International Heavyweight Championship fairly. Flair says that Cesaro can’t be the champion because he is still the champion and he has the proof right here. One of the men opens a briefcase and reveals the International Heavyweight Championship. Both men have the title! Flair says that he’s here with the best legal team that money can buy and he’s going on record, right now, as stating that there was no legal basis for stripping him of the title. In fact, he has the original title right here in his hands. He’s still the champion and Commissioner Billy Two Rivers could not strip him of the title just because he was in New Orleans attending to his duties as the Mash-Up Wrestling World Heavyweight Champion. Flair claims that Two Rivers made Cesaro his champion in a desperate ploy to avoid having a riot for advertising a match and an appearance featuring the Nature Boy without checking to see if the World Champ was already booked on official MUW business. He tells Cesaro that what he must now do is get out of the champ’s ring and to throw his little toy replica title belt in the garbage. Cesaro refuses to do, even under threat of legal action. Finally, Flair asks his lawyers for a conference, but it is just a ruse, as he grabs one of their large briefcases and hammers Cesaro in the head with it. Flair picks up the other “replica” title and leaves with both International Heavyweight Championship belts as the show ends.
