BCCW TV Episode #73 (Brand New World) [click here]BCCW Fight Night (LIVE from Dab St in Wax City) [click here]** AND NOW!! Ringside Commentators: Gordon Solie & Matt Striker
Backstage Correspondent: Renee Young"NYR2016"
Pre-Show KICK OFF!!Thank you for all the warm Birthday wishes! So tonight I reciprocate with a cavalcade of Dream Match delights! LIVE from Broken City MA State on the eve of a damn-near National Holiday in BCCW! The birth of our great founder, MSD! So enjoy this celebratory brunch and hold on tight! The Wax better than ever in 2016!** CUT TO VIDEO INTRO ** _________________________________________________________________Kevin FN Owens (2016) def. "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff (1986) (Heavyweight Last Man Standing)Fucking awesome 5-star opener full of ruthless aggression (just like Owens vs. Ambrose from WWE Royal Rumble 2016). Orndorff injures an arm during the course of the match that hampers his "Masterlock" and piledriver attempts, while Owens focuses on that pain to thwart Mr Wonderful. Climatic pop-up Powerbomb from Kevin FN Owens (through a table) for the finish. Ref counts to 10 on Orndorff before he can reach his feet! Kevin FN Owens is still hell-bent on shoving Commissioner Foley's weight-class decision ( that *stripped* KO of his Middleweight title) up Foley's fat a$$, and is using that anger to fuel his Heavyweight ascension! ** CUT 2 COMMERCIAL ** _________________________________________________________________Bella Twins & Alexxis vs. The Sisterhood (6-Woman Tag Team Bout)Another aborted "Rumble Seat" interview segment (featuring host Tony Rumble w/ guests The Sisterhood) leads to this encounter. The Bella Twins in their retort revealed longtime Sammi Lane-nemesis ALEXXIS NEVAEH as their new partner and this war began. But before Toxxis could tag into the match, constant ringside nuisance "Masshole" Mike McCarthy finally crossed the line enough to warrant a huge *SLAP* across the face from Alexxis! All hell breaks loose, the ref calls for a Double DQ, and "Masshole" grabs Alexxis by the hair preparing to punish her! ...leads to... _________________________________________________________________** BCCW Middleweight Championship **"Diehard" Eddie Edwards def. "Masshole" Mike McCarthy (w/ Tony Rumble)Until Alexxis' IRL partner "Diehard" Eddie Edwards rushes in for the save! Of course Rumble & Masshole manipulate the fiery Edwards to defend his MW title *right now* if he wants a piece of the Masshole! Eddie quickly agrees and turns McCarthy into roast beef, in what quickly amounts to a sacrificial squash match! You don't want to get "Diehard" fired up! In the end, Alexxis staves off Tony Rumble interference and Eddie finishes "Masshole" in short order! Eddie & Alexxis are the 1st Couple of BCCW! ** CUT 2 COMMERCIAL ** _________________________________________________________________ Bray Wyatt (2016) def. Nikita Koloff (1986) (Heavyweight Bout)Strong-style physical encounter that is punctuated by the appearance of Bray's 3 goon-squad members in the Wyatt Family. Nikita fights valiantly, and with the fans favor, but cannot overcome 4-on-one odds. Bray continues his twisted fight against American politics, both as a Heel (tonight against Nikita) and as babyfaces (his Wyatt Family opposing the Conservative values of JBL & Beer Money Intl). "Sister Abigail" to Nikita allows Bray and his Family to make the proud Russian "follow the buzzards!" ** INTERMISSION ** _________________________________________________________________AJ Styles (2015) def. Art Barr (1994) vs. Joker (2012) vs. Hideo Itami (2015) (Flyweight Fatal 4-Way)Just witness the pop AJ Styles got in Orlando for his surprise appearance at WWE Royal Rumble this month and you'll understand the level of devotion this man derives from the fans. In BCCW, Styles is redefining what a Flyweight (or "X-Division athlete") can accomplish with his fearless Weight Class diversions (kinda like a young BJ Penn). Match tonight is a high-octane showcase bout for all 4 men, but in the end AJ Styles stands head and shoulders above the rest with his ruthless Bullet Club-esque intensity. After a complex chain of counters & finishers, AJ hits his "Styles Clash" on Joker for the pinfall. Respect the Legend! ** CUT 2 COMMERCIAL ** _________________________________________________________________Tommaso Ciampa def. Weedman (Heavyweight Bout)Weedman is trying to lead a pro-pot rally for the great MSD's birthday, and tout the glory of Butane Hash Oil - when we are all rudely interrupted by the square-jawed party pooper Tommaso Ciampa (boooo!) Since turning on his "Boston Strongmen" brethren to seek individual glory, TCiampa has taken ex-partner Frank Scarpa *out* of BCCW and exhibited a vicious meanstreak. Tonight he rains on our parade of positivity, disses Broken City & trashes John Cena and (ex-partner) Frank Sexton for good measure! Weedman tries to defend the cause, but TCiampa even cheats in the end to beat him too! What a shameless, robotic, unhinged maniac TCiampa is! He's a "Sicilian Psychopath!" - and he wants BCCW gold! "Sicilian Psychopath" Tommasso Ciampa!** CUT 2 COMMERCIAL ** _________________________________________________________________Beat Down Clan def. Houston Heat (BCCW 6-Man Tag Team Bout)Our Main Event segment leads off with the Entrance & Theme of BDC, who are universally one of the most despised factions in BCCW. Everybody remembers Commissioner MVP's reign of terror, and looks forward to him receiving jailhouse justice in the BCCW prison-yard. Tonight that vengeance comes in the form of a fired-up Houston Heat trio, who suffered a backstage BDC beatdown last BCCW TV Episode. Booker T continues to remain the standout sensation for his team, and pique the crowds interest. But in the end, it is the dishonorable BCD who steal the victory (with an unseen steel chair strike to LAX Hernandez at ringside!) Big boos for MVP and his crew, who steal the show and celebrate their own coronation as "Gangsta Rap Kingz" of the BCCW 6-Man Tag Team division! Stay tuned for more action & adventure from Broken City, when we return for the PPV portion of "NYR2016!"** FADE OUT ** _________________________________________________________________

BREAKING NEWS!!** BCCW Champion John Cena injured; will not compete @ "NYR2016" - may miss BCCW's biggest show of the year ("Bedlam in Boston") entirely! ** BCCW.com has published an article on John Cena’s shoulder injury and subsequent surgery, which we noted was underwent successfully this past week in Birmingham, Alabama. The article features comments from Dr. Jeffrey Dugas at the Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center, who performed Cena’s surgery. Dugas had the following to say on Cena’s procedure: “He had a complete tear of a small portion of the rear rotator cuff tendon, the infraspinatus — toward the top-back of his shoulder — which I repaired. Also, there was a large piece of loose tissue in his shoulder that needed to be removed.” Dugas also revealed that the surgical team discovered some deterioration that had occurred in Cena’s AC joint and that was addressed during the procedure as well. Regarding recovery, Cena is set to work on his range of motion before he starts putting weight on the shoulder. No timetable for Cena’s return was provided, but as we previously noted, he could miss anywhere from 6-9 months and will miss "Bedlam in Boston". Dugas added: “The first hurdle is getting the cuts to heal and getting cartilage to form over the defect. After that, we’ll get back to function.” Stay tuned for more news as it develops & pertains to the now-vacant Heavyweight Championship! NWA TV 1-23-16 (Asuka strikes. ** BCCW has 6 recognized championships ** Heavyweight (225 lbs +) Middleweight (205 lbs +) Flyweight (under 200 lbs) Television title (catch weight) 6-Man Tag Team titles Woman's Championship** BCCW is a fight-fiction arena that blends the stylistics of Lucha Underground with UFC Fight Night: McGregor vs Siver from Boston ** ** Post match protocol calls for the bout winner to be granted a 90-second interview piece with in-ring correspondent Renee Young (like Joe Rogan in the UFC, Larry Nelson on AWA ESPN classic reruns, or MSD on previous Episodes of this very show). ** ** All matches sanctioned by Mash-Up Wrestling ** ** THIS IS BCCW!! **"New Years Revolution 2016"** RINGSIDE COMMENTARY TEAM ** Gordon Solie & Matt StrikerShit be fucked up sometimes. On the eve of my birthday, while standing on the precipice of great personal change, another link to my past was irrevocably tarnished. Seems like we were just mourning the anniversary of B-Sweezy's death when the homeboy Butch McKenzie done went crazy. The culmination of a million sins that led to a brutally disturbing murder scene in Norton and horrific head-on crash on Route 495. On my birthday, January 28th, the old homie was arraigned in Attleboro. The same day I was pissin in a cup and saying goodbye to the past, another bridge to our infamous "What Would U Do Crew" was torched forever. Shit will never be the same again.
Those sentiments continue tonite with a symbolic bonfire of the past, and a blazing toast to a new future. BCCW has undergone life-altering changes recently that has culminated with a *vacancy* of the Heavyweight Championship (due to injury). How that will affect tonight's card & scheduled Main Event remains to be seen, but Commissioner Mick Foley has promised us resolution. PLUS! A torrent of other title defenses galore! A Mash-Up Wrestling Faction Dream-Match between "Mount Rushmore" and the "League of Nations!" Blood! Guts! Birthday glory! Stay tuned as BCCW proudly presents "New Years Revolution 2016!"** CUT 2 RING ** __________________________________________________________________________BEER MONEY Intl vs. WYATT FAMILY (w/ Bray) (BCCW 6-Man Tag Team Bout) versus Wyatt Fam (consisting of Harper / Rowan / Strowman) are intimidating beasts, but Beer Money are pedigreed thorobreds. Entertaining opener between the "babyface" rebel Wyatts and ultra-conservative "heels" Beer Money (centered around JBL's pompous grandstanding). Beer Money outsmart their foes tonight and leave with the victory ("DUI" on Rowan for the pin, after he had just crushed JBL with a top rope splash). Winners: BEER MONEY Intl.** CUT 2 Breaking News Flash (as previously reported) **BREAKING NEWS!!** BCCW Champion John Cena injured; will not compete @ "NYR2016" - may miss BCCW's biggest show of the year ("Bedlam in Boston") entirely! ** BCCW.com has published an article on John Cena’s shoulder injury and subsequent surgery, which we noted was underwent successfully this past week in Birmingham, Alabama. Foley is here to discuss BCCW's official Heavyweight Championship decree, regarding its vacancy. There has been discussion of awarding the title to the #1 Contender - which draws the Entrance & Theme of "Powerhouse" Frank Sexton. Sexton appreciates the sentiment, but won't just *accept* a championship like that. It violates the code of Honor & Competition that Frank Sexton abides by. So cue the Entrance & Theme of Roman Reigns (BCCW Heel version) for the cocky retort. Until they're both answered by Bobby Lashley (big pop!), who incites the fans to roar for a battle! Commissioner Foley obliges by booking an impromptu Championship match tonight - Triple Threat bout! Lashley (yay!) vs. Roman (BOOOOS) vs. Sexton (CHEERS!) For the vacant BCCW Heavyweight Championship! Tonight in our ever-fluid, constantly evolving BCCW Main Event! BCCW Heavyweight Championship (Triple Threat Bout) TONIGHT!!!** Cut 2 Backstage promo from "League of Nations", in which they promise to defeat Mount Rushmore tonight and escalate their crusade to remove Flair's head from his body and the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP from around his waist! Then they're coming for the vacant Heavyweight championship, so whoever has that belt by the end of the night - consider yourself a marked man! **** STAY TUNED! **__________________________________________________________________________

STARDUST (2016) vs. HAYABUSA (2000) (Middleweight Bout) versus Good match, continuing their trend of recent BCCW encounters. Feud has taken creepy overtones since Stardust "took the head" of Great Muta in BCCW and now looks to do the same to Hayabusa. Energetic match featuring the daredevil dives of Hayabusa & comic book shenanigans of Stardust. Hayabusa catches Stardust in the midst of a "Beautiful Disaster" kick attempt, and counters with a "Falcon Arrow" (from the *top rope!*) for the pin! Winner: HAYABUSA** Cut to Video hype package on the Doom 2.0 vs. New Day BCCW title feud **__________________________________________________________________________** BCCW 6-Man Tag Team Titles **THE NEW DAY vs. DOOM 2.0 (w/ Woman) versus w/ Another wildly entertaining chapter in their BCCW title feud history. New Day provide the flavor, Simmons & Reed bring the credibility, Apollo has sheer athleticism & Woman brings the tantalizing (and deadly) distraction. In the end, the sheer obnoxiousness of New Day drives Doom 2.0 into a violent frenzy, and they overcompensate by double-powerbombing Xavier Woods through a table *he* helped set up just prior! Unfortunately for Doom, the outburst played right into New Day's hand and the challengers were instantly disqualified, to big boos from the fans! Therefore... Winners (and *still* champions): THE NEW DAY** Cut 2 video recap & Commentator summary / Horror movie hype package for upcoming Muertes vs. Abyss match **__________________________________________________________________________ABYSS (w/ Professor Sheldon Goldberg) vs. MIL MUERTES (w/ Catrina) (Monsters Ball Match) w/ vs. w/ Capitalizing on the violence of the previous encounter, this bout exceeds every viewers expectations for Xtreme vengeance. Not only do we get the standard staples such as chairs, tables & ring steps - we also get the added beauty (or horror) of thumbtacks, barbed wire boards & fire! A classic throwback to the XPW Remixed days of yore! TNA meets Lucha Underground on the bloody battlefield known as BCCW! After much violence & depravity, Mil Muertes finishes Abyss with a "Flatliner" for the pin - much like he did to Abyss' stablemate Kane. Fear the Reaper! Winner: MIL MUERTES** Cut to video recap & commentator summary / Backstage Renee Young interview with Mount Rushmore that quickly devolves into a shouting match between members! Strangler Lewis abruptly cuts the whole interview short! Back to ringside w/ Gordon & Striker! **__________________________________________________________________________Mount Rushmore of Mash-Up Wrestling vs. League of Nations (BCCW 6-Man Tag Team Bout) w/ versus w/ All-Star Conglomerate match, which each succeeding Entrance & Theme being more glorious than the last. Climaxes with the Entrance & Theme of AGPW Heavyweight & Mash-Up Wrestling WORLD Champion Ric Flair. The entire Mash-Up Wrestling universe is still buzzing about the events of WWE Royal Rumble 2016, when Gino Hernandez defied the odds to win a World Title Shot. Just exactly how these two stablemates (Ric & Gino) will coexist tonight is the main story. The secondary story is one of ascension for the BCCW "League of Nations", led by current Television Champion Sheamus (2016). They are the perfect multifaceted International stable to oppose the American capitalists in Mount Rushmore. Everybody gets a chance to shine during the course of the match, with a spotlight being shown on the growing friction between Flair & Gino. In the end, all Hell does break loose but it actually starts between valets. In this case, it is the growing cattiness between Adam Cole's cougar valet Sable & Gino's head cheerleader Baby Doll that explodes into a clothes-tearing brawl! In all the fracas at ringside, Flair winds up dodging a "Brogue Kick" from Sheamus that strikes Gino Hernandez in the head instead! BAM! The Handsome Halfbreed goes down from a shot meant for Flair! 1! 2! 3! Sheamus pins Gino Hernandez to win the match for his team! Winners: LEAGUE of NATIONSBut the *BIG* story postmatch - after the shenanigans between Sable/Baby Doll & Flair/Gino have subsided - is a shattering of BCCW's glass ceiling. Past sins come back to haunt the cream of the BCCW Main Event crop tonight, when a *new* faction elbows its way into the limelight. AJ Styles (2016!) 2015 "Best of the Best" winner Davey Richards [returning from injury caused by Adam Cole]! Reigning BCCW Middleweight Champion Eddie Edwards (2012)! They are "Bullet Proof" and they're here to let the world know (starting with Mount Rushmore *and* the League of Nations, who were both swooped from the ring by force) they will no longer be denied! "Bullet Proof"AJ Styles wants the TV Title! Davey Richards is gunning for Adam Cole's Flyweight Championship! "Diehard" Eddie Edwards holds the Middleweight Championship! A new force for light emerges in BCCW! ** CUT 2 Video Replay & Commentator reaction **__________________________________________________________________________

** Heavyweight Championship **BOBBY LASHLEY (2016) vs. (Heel) ROMAN REIGNS (2016) vs. FRANK SEXTON (1946) vs. vs. After a lengthy hype-video package, and elongated Entrance & Theme for each man, we're finally ready to start the bout. Immediately as the bell rings, Roman Reigns SUPERMAN PUNCHES Bobby Lashley right out of the ring! A hungry Roman Reigns wants the blood of Frank Sexton right now! Frank charges with a clothesline of his own, but misses and eats a neckbreaker from Reigns! Roman goes for the quick pin, but doesn't get it. Now Lashley makes his way back into the match and he's *PISSED!* Blaster Lashley captures Reigns in the corner and unleashes a torrent of MMA strikes & blows! Release fishermans suplex from the corner and Lashley is fired up! He clashes head-on with "Powerhouse" Frank Sexton in a lock-up battle for power! Sexton goes for a double-leg takedown as the crowd starts chanting "ROMAN SUCKS!" Sexton & Lashley exchange some catch-wrestling counters, but out of nowhere - Lashley dodges a Roman Reigns spear attempt that hits Sexton square in the chest! Sexton is driven to the outside, as Lashley & Reigns continue to do battle in the middle of the ring! "Dominator" from Lashley gets a huge pop from the crowd, but only a count of "2" from the ref. REIGNS hits a Samoan Drop on Lashley, but a powerbomb attempt on Lashley is reversed into a slingshot to the corner buckle! Frank Sexton rejoins the battle on the ring apron, and Lashley charges to meet him with a spear of his own. But at the last moment Sexton dodges - and Lashley shoots through the middle ropes like a rocket, before crashing and burning on the floor! Still on the apron, Sexton eats a knee to the midsection from Roman - but manages to backdrop Reigns right over the top rope to the floor! Huge pop for Sexton, as all 3 men begin to battle at ringside! BAM! Metal guardrails! SLAM! Steel ring steps! WHAM! To the barricade! After a humongous SPEAR to Lashley (from Reigns), Roman sets up "Powerhouse" Frank Sexton for a powerbomb... and SLAMS the Golden Age legend *through* the announce table! "HOLY SHIT! HOLY SHIT!" Roman Reigns is on a rampage! But another spear attempt from Reigns is immediately caught and countered by Lashley into a wicked spinebuster! Reigns escapes back into the ring, as Lashley follows and hits him with some stiff ground-n-pound. Running powerslam from Lashley only gets 2, so he snaps a Crippler Crossface on Roman trying to get a submission! Reigns struggles to break the hold, and when he can't, teases a tapout! But before Reigns can definitely tap out and end the match, Sexton reappears out of nowhere to put an Anaconda vice submission on Lashley! Fans are now chanting "SEXTON! SEXTON!" Frank breaks the hold as Reigns rushes him, and answers with a "Sedalis Cyclone" to Roman's face (similar to Roman's own superman punch!) POW! Trademark, bitch! Reigns is stunned, as a streaking Bobby Lashley shoots towards Sexton from the rear! But once again - Sexton manages to nimbly dodge Lashley, who SPEARS Reigns directly into the mat! A stunned Lashley staggers to his feet, only to eat a climatic "Sedalis Cyclone" (off the ropes) from Sexton! He collapses on Lashley from near-exhaustion! 1!.. 2!.. 3! UNBELIEVABLE! The crowd goes CRAZY! Frank Sexton has done it! Literally 70 years *to the day* (1/29/46) since Sexton won his last Title, he is Champion again! The BCCW Heavyweight division has a titlist to be proud of! Somebody who can pick up the torch left by John Cena, and blaze it towards new horizons in 2016! What's old is new again! Winner (and *NEW* BCCW Heavyweight Champion): "Powerhouse" Frank Sexton (1946)Pyro! Confetti! Streamers! Tears in the eye! Happy Birthday from Broken City! ** FADE OUT **

It is the oddest thing when you realize that you've just watched more matches on the card on the PPV pre-show than you watched on the actual PPV itself. I find myself wondering what was the thinking that went into making that decision. New Year's Revolution 2016 was a bit of a strange show from my perspective, and not only for that reason. I was really looking forward to seeing John Cena face off against the other Boston-area heavyweight, Frank Sexton. Cena's unexpected injury threw the event into a bit of disarray. There were several great 6-man tag team matches featured on the PPV. I enjoyed all of them quite a bit. BCCW's Trios division has come a long way from where it was a couple of years ago when the likes of Weedman and the Love Bros. was the best team in the division. My favourite singles bout of the night was Kevin Owens vs. Paul Orndorff in a last man standing match. It was the highlight of the night for me. I am very happy to see the "Powerhouse" Frank Sexton win the BCCW Heavyweight Championship. Defeating both Bobby Lashley and Roman Reigns in the same match to earn the title was a monumental task, one that was very much deserving of the title he earned. While I felt like there were some oddities in the way the show was booked, on the whole, I think it was another successful BCCW event.

Oddities? You're right! They do remind me a bit of our very own Mash-Up Posse! hahaha (but only if you're Giant Silva!) As for the pre-show being more hype, it was (not made very clear by me) an entirely different show on the night BEFORE the big PPV. So kinda like my two-night hype for Fallout Festival (coming in March!) I threw the Cena injury in as a spontaneous nod to contemporary events and turned Sexton into WWE's wishlist version of Roman Reigns (with the REAL Roman Reigns working as a Heel right beside him). As for the rest of the oddness & insanity? I can't explain it! Blame it on the wax! I'm lost on Dab Street in Wax City! Peace!
