Mark Lowrnace and Jim Ross welcome everyone to the Royal Rumble and on the pre-show, Chris Benoit will battle Dick Murdoch and Mr. Perfect Curt Henning will battle Billy Robinson. Also, we will hear from Bruno Sammartino and Jake Roberts about their big WWE Title Match tonight.

1st Match: Chris Benoit beat Dick Murdoch w/Mr. Fabulous Tony Ulysses in 10:08 with the crippler crossface.
Mean Gene interviews Jake Roberts, who says that n Leo’s pride will lead to the final destruction of the Living Legend and the snake to the victory at the Royal Rumble. Trust me.

2nd Match:Mr. Perfect Curt Henning beat Billy Robinson in 10:08 with the perfect plex.

1st Match: Combat Toyoda w/Grand Wizard beat Bull Nakano w/Paul Jones in 12:34 with the powerbomb. After the match, Combat piledrivers Bull on the floor and leaves her laying.
2nd Match: The Rock beat Jerry the King Lawler in 13:08 with the rock bottom. Before thet the rock will bout, lawler proclaimed that the rock was going to smell what the king was cooking!
3rd Match:WWE World Television Title Match:(Last Chance Match)- Nick Bockwinkel beat Bully Ray in 13:08 when he nailed Bully into the ringspot shoulder first and rolled him up and used the tights to get the win.
4th Match: WWE Tag team Title Match: The New Age Outlaws beat the Road Warriors in 14:08 when Gunn beat animal after nailing Animal with the title belt after power slamming Road Dogg.
5th Match: WWE Intercontinental Title Match: Masked Superstar beat Tommy Rich in 13:54 with the neckbreaker.
6th Match: WWE World Title Match(winner gets spot in the Rumble match, whether the title changes hands or not.) Bruno Sammartino beat Jake the Snake Roberts by countout in 14:55 when Roberts was rammed back first into the steel post and Bruno DDt’ed Jake on the floor and made it back in before the ten count.

Main Event: Royal Rumble Match- Winner gets shot at MUW World Champion at Wrestlemania 2.

This leaves Rck and Bruno and both men hit their finishing moves. First, the Rock hits the Rock Bottom and thn Bruno surprises the Roc with the over the head backbreaker as Rock was trying for another Rock Bottom. With the backbreaker, Bruno dumps the Rock over the top rope and wins the 2015 Rumble and gets the shot at the MUW World Title at Wrestlemania 2.

Not unlike this year's real life Royal Rumble, the WWE made some very curious decisions in booking this show. Whereas the general consensus is that the WWE gave us a fantastic title belt and a poorly booked Royal Rumble match, I think wwefan did it the other way around.

I think this Rumble match was great. The sheer amount of star power in it is something that the real life WWE cannot give us. You have so many studs and main event caliber wrestlers in this match that it was hard to pick a winner. A match like this one was everything that the real WWE should have given us. We got lengthy performances out of both Mr. Perfect and Bruno Sammartino, the eventual winner, plus Kevin Nash was put over by eliminating people left, right and center. Also, The Rock, with a late entry, came in and immediately started cleaning house, making it to the final two. You can't give us a better final three than Kurt Angle, The Rock and Bruno Sammartino. I enjoyed all of this.

And it was most definitely Bruno's night to shine. However, while the end of the night turned out alright, the booking of the WWE Title match was strange. Bruno had to win to get into the Royal Rumble and he achieved that goal via countout. By I find it surprising that he would just give Jake "The Snake" a DDT on the floor and leave him there for the countout victory rather than attempt to win the title in addition to earning a spot in the Royal Rumble. I guess it was a necessary move to make sure that the WWE Title can still be defended at Wrestlemania II, but it's still an unsatisfying way to end the match, at least in my view.

Another interesting development is that the New Age Outlaws are still the WWE Tag Team Champions, but may be breaking up. I'm not sure of what to think about that. Here, you have Billy Gunn nailing Animal with a title belt and pinning him for the win, but only after he gives his own partner a powerslam. Will they have a new gimmick as reluctant tag team champions that fight each other, but always retain the title, or are they going to actually break up? If it is a gimmick thing, I don't think it suits them very well. If they are breaking up, will we see the titles vacated? A title tournament ending at Wrestlemania II might be cool.

And in the strange but true column, there were two matches that clocked in at 10:08 and two more that clocked in at 13:08. Not just one pair of matches running the exact same time, but two in one night! That's absolutely insane! I don't know if we'll ever see something like that happen again.

It's always great fun to see what wild and wacky Royal Rumble combinations you can up with as we have literally the entire wrestling universe to pull from. I really enjoy how you have managed to make it a yearly tradition to pull talent from other organizations for some really big cross promotional appearances.

But the big story was all the new look talent arriving in WWE since the big WCW/WWF shake up, particularly the Rock. He beat Lawler earlier in the night, then went on an elimination tear, at one point eliminating 4 guys in a row! I was having flashbacks to Royal Rumble 2000 until he ran into the Italian Strongman at the end.

Sammartino already proved he has Jake Roberts' number earlier in the evening, now it's all but assured he get a fair title shot once and for all at Wrestlemania! Another great effort, and despite a few typos here or there, it was very easy to follow and a hell of a ride. If only the real Royal Rumble had been this satisfying!
