MUW: WWE All-Star Wrestling: 7/11/2014
(From the 7/4/2014 TV Tapings in Dover, De.)
Before the show starts, we get a VTR from the office of President William Muldoon from Dover that was taped on 7/10/2014:
"Hello, WWE Fans. I have an exciting announcement that will shake up the Wrestling World. As many of you know, last year's battleground pay-per-view was an historical moment in the history of MUW as two organizations, the WWE and BCCW battled it out for supremacy. Well, I am proud to announce that this breeding ground of interpromotional competition is back. The next MUW pay-per-view will be BattleGround II: Mayhem in Montreal. It will take place at the Forum in Montreal, Canada on October 19th on pay-per-view. But, I say why wait for the pay-per-view! This past week, I have succesful reached an agreement with not only BCCW, but the AWA promotion based out of Minnesota, to have a talent exchange program where any star can compete for another promotion for a determined period of time and both promotions will be a part of BattleGround II. Based on this agreement, I have negotiated to have a special live event at the brand new CNE Stadium in Toronto, Canada, which will be home to the CFL's Toronto Argonauts on Sunday July 27th, which will be called "THE BIG EVENT" and for those fans that want to attend the show, tickets will go on sale Monday morning at 9 a.m. and we will be showing you highlights of this event the following week on television and I have signed a double main event for this supercard. First, AWA World Champion Daniel Bryan will face WWE World Champion Bruno Sammartino with the winner to get an MUW WOrld Title Match at the Maple Leaf Gardens the night before BattleGround II. Then, the MUW WOrld Title will be on the line as John Cena will challenge Stone Cold Steve Austin for the title. I will have more information about this event and BattleGround II in the following weeks. Thank you and enjoy All-Star Wrestling!"
Mark Lowrance welcomes everyone to the show and announces that in the main event today, The Bolsheviks will face Tony Atlas/Rocky Johnson. Also, Stan Hansen/Bruiser Brody will be in action,as well as Bob Orton Jr. and Nick Bockwinkel.
1st Match: Nick Bockwinkel beat Damien Wayne in 6:03 with the piledriver. Then, he tells Mean Gene that he will make Larry and the Wizard the two dumbest looking chickens in the WWE and be so ashamed of themselves that they will leave the WWE as fast as their chicken legs will take them.
Commercial Break
2nd Match: Mason Ryan beats Bob Orton Jr. w/Grand Wizard in a major upset in 6:33 with a powerslam as Orton took the rookie too lightly and pulled him up from several pin attempts. Then, Mason tells Mean Gene that it was his dream to come to the WWE and that the dream will bear fruition with being champion.
Commercial Break
3rd Match: Stan Hansen/Bruiser Brody beat Mike Jackson/Duane Gill in 2:09 when Hansen beat Jackson with the lariat.
Commercial Break
Main Event: Rocky Johnson/Tony Atlas beat the Bolsheviks in 10:21 when Johnson beat Zukhoff with the boston crab.
