Mash-Up Minutes: Reports from the Atlantic Canadian Region MONCTON, NB -- There has been a flurry of activity coming out of the Atlantic region in the last couple of days. First, Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling has moved into a new downtown office space located on Main Street. AGPW's owner and founder Emile Duprée and its Chief Business Officer Slade are said to be very pleased with the new space. The move, they claim is a reflection of the continued success of the company, which necessitated a move into a larger space to house more staff. A flurry of roster activity took place on the Major League Baseball trade deadline. Apparently, Slade forgot that he is in the wrestling business, not in the baseball business. Tully Blanchard was signed to a new contract. Arn Anderson's contract was acquired from BCCW for the contract of Robbie E. Moreover, an additional agreement was made with BCCW to swap the contracts of Killer Kowalski for Goldust, however both men will continue to work for their previous employers until September 1. With Robbie E headed stateside, Rob Terry was released from his contract as creative had nothing for him. On the last episode of Dynamite Saturday Night, a set of tour dates for shows in Vermont and New Hampshire were falsely advertised. Mash-Up Minutes has learned that AGPW had originally announced its first ever shows in those states, but due a declining Canadian dollar driving up the cost of holding events south of the border and poor ticket sales for those shows, the company chose to cancel those dates and re-booked them in southern Ontario, where it has had a very successful run of shows over the past few weeks. The new event dates and locations are as follows: Thursday, August 7 – Port Colborne, Ontario Friday, August 8 – Welland, Ontario Saturday, August 9 – Niagara Falls, Ontario (DSN Live) Sunday, August 10 – St. Catharines, Ontario Finally, AGPW has thus far refused to comment on reports of AGPW Women's Champion Trish Stratus unauthorized appearance at "THE BIG EVENT" in Toronto, Ontario on July 27. There are reports that Stratus wrestled in a tag team match with Awesome Kong versus Natalya Neidhart and Taylor Wilde at AGPW's live event in Guelph, Ontario that very same day. Complicating matters further were reports that Stratus was seen in Hollywood, California that day. However, TMZ's very best paparazzi, who were hot on her trail have since claimed that the woman spotted in Hollywood and believed to be the AGPW Women's Champion was in fact not her. Rumour has it that the AGPW front office has been in consultation with its lawyers over the matter and are currently considering how it should respond, which includes but is not limited to pursuing legal action against the promoters of "THE BIG EVENT".

Thanks, Rick. I will add dirt sheet updates from time to time. I think it can give people some extra information about what I'm doing, but done from a little bit of a different perspective. When I post under the title "Mash-Up Minutes..." the news comes from a dirt sheet reporter. When I post using the AGPW banner, there is to be interpreted as an official press release from AGPW itself. So there are two different ways that I have and will continue to post news updates.
Thanks for reading!

BREAKING NEWS!
At the AWA house show last night in Brandon, Manitoba, the Varsity Club broke up in brutal fashion! After suffering a loss to the Dudebusters, Jack Swagger viciously attacked his partner Mike Rotunda, screaming that he was "tired of all the losing". He applied the "Patriot Lock" on Rotunda's right ankle for several seconds, and it took multiple officials to pull him off.
Swagger left the arena without comment.

Mash-Up Minutes: Reports from the Atlantic Canadian Region MONCTON, NB -- Word around the Mash-Up Wrestling Universe is that the decision by AGPW to hire The Blue Meanie and have him parody BCCW Heavyweight Champion John Cena on the August 9th edition of Dynamite Saturday Night was done in retaliation of what it believes was a decision by BCCW to make a mockery of AGPW Women's Champion Trish Stratus at the WWE/BCCW/AWA joint production THE BIG EVENT. That event took place in Toronto, Ontario, just one week before AGPW had scheduled TAKEOVER IN TORONTO. At THE BIG EVENT, a Trish Stratus look-alike competed in a multi-territory match, representing BCCW and was announced as the BCCW Women's Champion. It was previously reported here that AGPW's brain trust was not commenting on the incident, but we have since learned that it was seriously displeased by BCCW's actions and believes that the organization is still upset that Stratus chose to leave the company at the conclusion of her contract and took the Women's Championship with her. Mash-Up Minutes has learned that AGPW has filed an official request with the Mash-Up World Heavyweight Championship booking committee to book World Champion "Stone Cold" Steve Austin on October 11-12. There is no word on the company's plans, but one has to wonder if inter-territory relations between it and BCCW, WWE and AWA have recently turned sour. There is plenty of evidence to support this theory. Consider, for example, that BCCW, WWE and AWA hosted an inter-promotional supercard in Canada's largest city just one week before AGPW held its first supercard in the same city. In addition to that, there is the previously mentioned Trish Stratus controversy. Finally, BCCW, WWE and AWA are also hosting a follow up to THE BIG EVENT on October 19 in Montréal, Québec, called BATTLEGROUND II: Mayhem in Montréal. One has to wonder if AGPW moved to book the World Champion a week ahead of BATTLEGROUND II as a way to stop him from appearing at any BCCW, WWE or AWA live or televised events in the last weekend before BATTLEGROUND II in an effort to impede promotion of that event. Moreover, one has to consider whether AGPW is planning to try to steal each of those companies' thunder by turning the tables on them and holding its next pay-per-view supercard a week ahead of BATTLEGROUND II. In other news, AGPW will only publicly confirm three of the matches it has scheduled at this week's Dynamite Saturday Night. They include a battle between Awesome Kong and Natalya Neidhart, as well as The Stampeders versus Brute Force in tag team action. The third match will feature the AGPW debut of Tully Blanchard and Arn Anderson, who have both recently joined the territory and will reform their Brain Busters tag team. The Brain Busters are expected to be a huge boost to the AGPW tag team division, which has already undergone a major overhaul this summer with the split up of Magnus & Cesaro and the departure of long-time division heavyweights Mad Dog Vachon & Dino Bravo.

On behalf of the American Wrestling Association, we vigorously deny any allegations of impropriety, collusion, or unfair business practices. The AWA is simply, and always, devoted to promoting its brand and showcasing the hard-hitting, high-flying, bell-to-bell action that is the standard-bearer of the sport. To that end, the AWA would welcome the opportunity to work with Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling, or indeed, any territory in the MUW Network.

BREAKING NEWS
In a move that may or not be related to "two major announcements" concerning Canadian fantasy wrestling, BCCW & WWE are rescheduling their October joint-super show "Battleground II" to Sunday October 26th. BCCW officials (particularly Commissioner MVP) are citing security reasons as the premiere reason for the date change, as BCCW has run afoul of Canadian authorities in the past. How the WWE chooses to react will be a measure of Commissioner Muldoon's reserve and Shane McMahon's mettle.
Stay tuned as the story unfolds, and the REAL World Champion appears at "Battleground II" on October 26th.

Mash-Up Minutes: Reports from the Atlantic Canadian Region MONCTON, NB -- The latest news coming out of the AGPW HQ is that company brass is unconcerned about the latest industry news of a changed date for the huge WWE/AWA/BCCW supershow, Battleground II: Mayhem in Montréal, from October 19 to one week later on October 26. However, Emile Duprée and Slade are said to be unimpressed with WWE's attempts to paint AGPW as the reason for the date change. The most recent taping of WWE All-Star Wrestling featured an announcement from President William Muldoon, in which he cited "a recent complaint from Canadian Authorities from an undisclosed company," as the reason for changing the date of Battleground II. When asked for comment, a source from within the company, who would only speak to us on condition of anonymity, has told us that AGPW brass are "not happy with the veiled accusations" that it is responsible for the pay-per-view date change and believes that the organizers of Battleground II are "deflecting the blame away from themselves so they won't have to be held accountable as poor event organizers." That is the view from AGPW, which is said to hold the poorest opinion of BCCW and the role it is playing in Battleground II. Moreover, when asked if there was any truth to the story about complaints from Canadian Authorities pertaining to Battleground II, my source told me that AGPW has filed no official complaints and believes that other territories are free to hold events whenever they please, but that it would be no big secret that AGPW is less than enthusiastic about rival territories coming into Canada to hold huge shows in an area that AGPW has been trying to shore up as a part of its territory for the better part of the last year. However, my source did reveal that AGPW had considered filing an official complaint about the announcement of a Mash-Up World Heavyweight Champion match on Sunday, October 12, to be staged by WWE, when AGPW had long ago filed the proper paperwork with the championship committee to reserve appearances from the Mash-Up World Champion on AGPW programming on October 11 and 12, the latter date having since been revealed as the date of AGPW's upcomming MAYHEM IN MONTRÉAL 2014 supercard. Speaking of MAYHEM IN MONTRÉAL 2014, industry insiders believe that the announcement of this show was in direct response to Battleground II: Mayhem in Montréal. AGPW is said to be going all out in an effort to upstage the combined efforts of AWA, WWE and BCCW on their show, which is now being held two weeks later. It's also an attempt to steal away some thunder from their event in a burgeoning territorial dispute, which began in the summer when AWA, WWE and BCCW held "The Big Event" one week ahead of AGPW's TAKEOVER IN TORONTO in Canada's biggest city. AGPW believes that its gate suffered and industry insiders are saying that "The Big Event" had much greater ticket sales and gate revenue. Plus, there are rumours floating around that AGPW had to give away free tickets in the days leading up to TAKEOVER IN TORONTO to fill the upper level seating in the Air Canada Centre, this despite that the show was being headlined by Christian Cage, a native of Toronto, who was the company's top champion at the time.
