Mash-Up Minutes News & Rumours from Around the Mash-Up Universe Hi everyone, MSD and I have been discussing a news and rumours thread for quite some time. Originally, the idea was to have a Mash-Up reporter whom you could send real or fake stories about your product/company. However, filling that roles has proved difficult. As a consequence, we've decided to start a thread where you can post any news or rumours about your product/company, if it interests you. For example, this could be stuff that you would like people to know about, but can't or won't be reported on your wrestling shows because it would seem out of place. Feel free to post in this thread as often or as little as you would like (or never, it's your choice). It is really up to you how you choose to use it, that is, if you want to use it all. You may choose to post your news and rumours as press releases that originate directly from your Public Relations team, or from the mouth of the President of your company (eg. you), or to post it as news or dirt-sheet report written by a Mash-Up Minutes reporter assigned to follow your territory (as I will choose to do, most of the time). The most important thing to note is to just have fun with it. Post your news or rumours, respond to the news and rumours of others, do whatever you'd like. It's free for any member of Mash-Up Wrestling, including our show recap/reviewer Karl Hugo, to use. Just be aware that this isn't a thread that any of us are going to use to report or inform everyone of rule or policy changes to Mash-Up Wrestling, should such things ever happen. This is all just news and rumours about each of our wrestling companies, kayfabe or not. Nothing more, nothing less. You shouldn't have to wonder too much about how to make use of this thread. However, after having read this introduction you find that you are still unsure of how to use it or you have any questions concerning the use of this thread, don't hesitate to ask MSD or I.

Mash-Up Minutes: Reports from the Atlantic Canadian Region MONCTON, NB -- On the latest episode of Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling on ASN, Emile Duprée announced that a tournament would be held to award the International Heavyweight Championship title. Mash-Up Minutes has learned that it will be a 16-man tournament and that the first half of the first round matches are scheduled to take place on the next edition of Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling on ASN. There are 15 men confirmed for the tournament. They are: Al Snow, Bo Dallas, Chavo Guerrero, Chris Candido, Cuban Assassin, Dean Malenko, Dino Bravo, Elix Skipper, Eric Young, Junkyard Dog, Leo Burke, Mad Dog Vachon, Marc Mero, Petey Williams, and Robbie E. The final spot will go to either Lance Storm or René Duprée, pending the outcome of their match on Saturday, June 8. It has been rumoured that Emile Duprée will be looking to start an 8-team tournament to crown the Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling North American Tag Team Champions and that he may have that tournament begin before the International Heavyweight Championship tournament has concluded. There is no word yet on when it would begin, but sources have noted that it likely won’t start up until after the first round of the International Heavyweight Championship has ended, thus freeing up some talent to fill up the field. It is probably a good idea to bank on that rumour, because Mash-up Minutes’ sources have also stated that Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling’s Chief Business Officer, Slade, is currently in negotiations with Bell Media – owners and operators of ASN – to try to line up a 3-hour prime time special for a weekend in July. It has been said that Slade and Duprée want to try to have a live telecast to stage an historic evening in which it plans to award both of its major championship titles. Mash-Up Minutes will report more on this story as it develops. Mash-Up Minutes has also learned that Johnny Devine will be out of action for at least a month after having suffered an injury. Details of the injury are unknown at this time, but it is believed that the ending of his televised match against Marc Mero was devised to explain his absence over the next several weeks. Rumour also has it that Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling may be interested in swapping its first round draft pick. Duprée and Slade are said to have had many meetings concerning their draft strategy for the upcoming “Summer of Madness” expansion draft. They are said to be interested in a number of wrestlers who are available in the draft, but don’t believe that their company is making enough revenue yet to sign many of the bigger names who will be available in Monday’s draft. The company is trying to be prudent with its capital, so it might be open to swapping its very favourable draft position to acquire a wrestler with some name value, but who does not command a main eventer’s salary. If a trade cannot be arranged, it may then either surprise everyone by using its picks to draft talent that isn’t expected to go so high or gamble on picking up a marquee name in hopes of flipping his rights to another territory in exchange for someone with a contract that won’t be as much of a drain on its financial resources. All eyes have turned west towards a tumultuous uprising. The recently concluded BCCW PPV "Return to the Scene of the Crime" has set the figurative fantasy wrestling horizon aflame. Killer Kowalski cashed in his MitB briefcase to become BCCW Heavyweight champion. Violent factions like the Insiders, Rotten Wildaz & T.O.X.I.C. continue to wreak havoc. While Lou Thesz has retained the only WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP in fantasy wrestling by nefarious means. BCCW management has been up all night and in contact with various state athletic commissions to find resolve these controversies. Expect a forthcoming announcement on the next BCCW TV.
Everybody wants to know where is Ultimate Warrior?? Another dispute (over money & TV face time) has forced a walkout. Already infuriated over the loss of his 6-Man strap via ridiculous & corrupt politics (that was not BCCW's fault), Ultimate Warrior demanded a last-minute pay raise and increased air time. He walked out of the company immediately after his MitB loss @ Night of Champions III. Where he turns up (IF he turns up) next is anybody's guess.
Finally, the big news. "Summer of Madness" Expansion Draft is complete and heralds a time of explosive creative potential. All of these landmarks (or are they "landmines") are just potholes on the road to the biggest show on earth (and beyond): BCCW presents BiB3. The supercard to end all, and the biggest event in fight-fiction today.
** BREAKING NEWS **
The Homecoming: BCCW returns to Boston MA for the PPV Supercard of the Year...
This is the Oscars, Grammys, KotDM, Wrestlemania & Woodstock all rolled into one.
Everybody that's anybody in fantasy wrestling will be in Boston on this historic night.
COMING IN JUNE!!

The online rumor mill has been spinning for the past week with rumors that the "Pretty boy Pitbull" Kenny King has finally reached a deal with the organization. If the rumors are in fact true then we can expect to see King on TV before the UCW's next big PPV show High Voltage. And as the scope of the UCW continues to grow so do the alliances.. could their be a huge stable war in the coming months? Well according to online blog sites there just might be one on the horizon.. but we won't believe it until we actually see it.. The original plans for the UCW World Heavyweight title picture still called for JBL to win the title at Locked & Loaded but instead of going on to feud with Shawn Michaels he was set to battle the Undertaker in a series of matches leading to a Hell in a Cell match at the next big PPV show.

Mash-Up Minutes: Reports from the Atlantic Canadian Region MONCTON, NB -- I'm stepping out of the fantasy world for a moment and jumping into the real world to report that, one month after my revival of Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling in the Mash Up Wrestling Universe, a real world revival of Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling has begun. René Dupré has moved home after a long time spent in Japan and has been working with his father to bring the promotion back to life. It help it's first show in five years just last week on June 3 in Cocagne, New Brunswick. Here's the web address to a news story about it (including video): globalnews.ca/news/613562/atlantic-grand-prix-wrestling-is-reborn-in-the-maritimes/The reporter made one error - AGPW didn't fold in the early nineties. It folded in 2001 and came back for what was supposed to be a one off summer tour in 2008. By the way, thanks to René's Japanese connections, the title bouts for this summer's AGPW tour will be fought over an All Japan Pro Wrestling singles title - no joke! I'm sorry if you can't click on the web address. You might have to copy and paste the address into a web browser. Yesterday, some of the formating on The Place to Be appears to have changed and I can't insert BB Coding into my posts anymore unless I already know the codes (and I don't know the codes for creating links). It was a big pain in the ass for posting my June 8th AGPW show, last night Originally Posted June 9, 2013

Mash-Up Minutes: Reports from the Atlantic Canadian Region MONCTON, NB – Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling has been busy acquiring additional talent to add to its roster. It has the cupboard stacked with talent who’ve signed contracts and are set to debut over the course of the summer, but it is still looking to add to its ranks. Recent signings have included local giant Robert Maillet, who has previously wrestled in the Maritimes as The Acadian Giant and in WWF as Kurrgan; Playboy Magazine cover girl, Maryse Ouellet, from Montréal, QC; former Smokey Mountain Wrestling tag team greats, the Heavenly Bodies; the Canadian-born co-headliner of the very first Wrestlemania (billed from Scotland), Rowdy Roddy Piper; and the biggest coup of all – “Macho Man” Randy Savage and his lovely wife, Miss Elizabeth. Immediate and long-term plans for its newly acquired talent are not yet known. However, one thing that we can tell you is that Mash-Up Minutes has learned that “Macho Man” Randy Savage has been signed to a per appearance deal. AGPW’s Chief Business Officer has said that the territory cannot yet afford to pay Savage on a full-time basis, unless it chose to forego any more free agent signings or released current talent from their contracts, and he doesn’t believe that either of those things would be in AGPW’s best interests at this time. Details of the number of appearances and the duration of the exclusivity of his territorial rights are not known. However, my sources have said that AGPW is open to allowing Savage and Elizabeth to take bookings in other territories as a way to raise a few extra dollars and to get its name extra exposure in other markets/territories in North America. Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling has also hired SoCal Val to join its television broadcast team. She debuted on this week’s episode of Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling on ASN. She is expected to take over the roll as the company’s backstage report. Word has it that AGPW has been getting feedback from its fan base, who felt it was a “a little bit too low rent” to have the play-by-play team appearing in a backstage interview one second and then be back at the broadcast table to call a match, the next. Although the shows are taped, adding an extra on-air personality will improve the quality of the production and make it more believable that the show airs live. Mash-up Minutes has more news about the rumoured 3-hour hour live telecast being negotiated between Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling and Bell Media. There are definitely plans in the works to put together a supershow for this one time television broadcast. Sources has told me that Slade recently travelled to Halifax for in-person business meetings with representatives of ASN and with management of the Halifax Metro Centre, which is the largest arena in all of Atlantic Canada. Moreover, sources say that television tapings have not been booked for July 12, which would be the night that it would be expected to tape its television programming for the next 2 weeks (July 13 & 20). Mash-Up Minutes: Reports from the Atlantic Canadian Region MONCTON, NB – It is now official: Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling will broadcast a live wrestling event from the Halifax Metro Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on Saturday, July 20. The live event has been dubbed PRIMETIME LIVE, simply because it is set to air live and in prime time on the Atlantic Satellite Network (ASN). This event promises to crown the organizations first International Heavyweight and North American Tag Team champions. Many other marquee contests are expected to be announced with nearly the entire card being revealed by the conclusion of the July 6 edition of Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling on ASN. Mash-Up Minutes has also learned that AGPW does not have a set of television tapings booked during the early part of July. A source within the company has noted that preparation and planning for AGPW's first super card and live television broadcast has become the head office's primary focus. As such, the decision has been made to air a retrospect/recap episode of key events and matches during the first 10 weeks of AGPW's revival in it's regular late night time slow on Saturday, July 13. The hope is that it'll get dedicated fans and new viewers excited about watching the live event to air a week later. Word out of AGPW's head office in Moncton is that Chief Business Officer, Slade, is said to be surprised and happy by the television ratings and revenue boosts from the month of June. Apparently, ratings and revenue growth month-over-month from May have far exceeded expectations. He's said to be very pleased with the health of the company in it's early days and believes that this bodes well for the future growth of the company - including signing bigger names and expanding its territory into neighbouring regions - perhaps even sooner than expected. Mash-Up Minutes: Reports from the Atlantic Canadian Region MONCTON, NB - - Last night, on the 08-17-13 edition of Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling on ASN, Sean Morley announced that the second PRIMETIME LIVE will air on Saturday, September 21. There isn’t too much that is known about the company’s booking plans to date. There are two tag team matches that have been announced for the card. First, the North American Tag Team Titles will on the line when the champions, Montréal Mafia, face Team Canada’s Petey Williams & Eric Young. Second, Magnus & Antonion Cesaro are set to battle Al Snow & Chavo Guerrero. What we also know is that Dean Malenko will defend the International Heavyweight Championship against either Leo Burke or “Marvelous” Marc Mero. Nothing more is known about the card at this time. However, we can fairly reliably predict that Rowdy Roddy Piper versus Yoshihiro Tajiri will be added to the card in the coming weeks. Mash-Up Minutes can also confirm that sources from inside of AGPW are saying that a third edition of PRIMETIME LIVE has already been requested by ASN and that the network has officially reserved a 3-hour block of airtime for it on Saturday, October 26, 2013. AGPW is in the process of trying to determine where to hold the event. Once that decision has been made, the event should be made official. Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling released TG Stone and the Southern Boys from their contracts this week. Stone was employed with thee company for less than a month, but was not happy with his role within the company and he was let go. There is no word for why the Southern Boys were released. Rumour has it that AGPW’s Chief Business Officer is currently in talks with more than one television network regarding AGPW’s television programming contract. Mash-Up Minutes has learned from its sources that its current television contract with ASN was only signed for a 6-month run. It is believed that the network would not commit to a longer period at the outset because it had doubts as to the drawing power of a local professional wrestling broadcast, but it has done so well in the ratings that it is looking to renew its deal. However, my sources have told me that Slade is talking to other networks as well either to try to sweeten the pot in its talks with ASN or, as some people working in AGPW’s head office in Moncton have stated, Slade has ambitions to spread AGPW programming nationwide and may be investigating whether that is an option. Mash-Up Minutes: Reports from the Atlantic Canadian Region MONCTON – There is a lot of news coming out of Atlantic Canada right now. First, the second PRIMETIME LIVE 3-hour live wrestling programme will air one week from today, on Saturday, September 21, 2013. The event will be televised live from Harbour Station in St. John, New Brunswick. There are eight matches featured on the card. They are: International Heavyweight Title Match “The Iceman” Dean Malenko {C} vs. “Marvelous” Marc Mero
2 Out of 3 Falls Leo Burke vs. Test
No Disqualifications Match Yoshihiro Tajiri vs. Rowdy Roddy Piper
North American Tag Team Title Match Montréal Mafia {C} vs. Team Canada’s Petey Williams & Eric Young
Junkyard Dog vs. “Killer” Karl Krupp
Lance Storm vs. Blue Blazer
Al Snow & Chavo Guerrero vs. Magnus & Antonio Cesaro
Chris Candido & Chris Hero vs. The Cuban Assassins
Rumour has it that there are some more surprise appearances in store for the event. There is no reliable information coming out AGPW’s head offices to indicate who might be appearing at the event. However, many bigger drawing superstars have been signed recently – Christian Cage, Ted DiBiase, Owen Hart and Samoa Joe, to name a few – so we can expect to see an injection of star power on AGPW’s regular weekly programming in the near future. Related to that last post, AGPW has been very aggressive about scouting and signing female talent. My sources tell me that AGPW wants to establish a new female division before the end of the calendar year. Rumour has it that among professional wrestling’s female ranks, AGPW has come to terms with Fabulous Moolah and Canadians Gail Kim and Taylor Wilde. Where has all of the capital come to expand the roster and sign some bigger stars to contracts? My sources are telling me that AGPW’s Chief Business Officer has come to terms with Rogers Communications on a new television deal that was contingent upon the organization using at least half of its new operating capital to bring some more star power to AGPW in anticipation of the launch of its new weekly TV show in November. The 6-month deal with ASN is set to expire on October 31, 2013. From all accounts, the deal has been a smashing success. Word is that an extension of the deal is being worked out. Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling is in the dubious position of having two television deals in place to air the same show as the company wasn’t able to find a national carrier for its flagship weekly wrestling programme. However, ASN, which is part of the Bell group, will continue to broadcast AGPW throughout Atlantic Canada, while Rogers Communications has penciled in a Saturday night primetime time slot for AGPW in the rest of the country (from Québec to British Columbia) on its Citytv brand. AGPW is said to also be interested in trying to arrange a deal to broadcast its weekly programming on one Québec’s French language television stations. Since Atlantic Grand Prix will be going national starting in November, its weekly TV programme will be rebranded. A rebranding of the programme’s name is necessary since ASN is now the junior television broadcasting partner of AGPW and the rights to its programming will be airing on Citytv across the rest of the country. There is no word as to what the new name of its weekly programme will be. One more piece of news to pass along is that ASN and AGPW have officially announced that a third and final edition of PRIMETIME LIVE will air on Saturday, October 26, which is the last time that ASN will be the primary carrier of an AGPW supercard. Future supercards are rumoured to be moving into the realm of pay-per-view, which will be co-financed by Rogers Communications, which is one of the largest cable television providers in the country (in addition to owning various television broadcasting entities such as Citytv). The tentative timeline is for the first such supercard to take place in December. Mash-Up Minutes will have more details on all of the new changes to the business side of Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling’s operations as they become available. Originally Posted September 14, 2013

There has been a "leaked" version of the upcoming BCCW vs WWE supercard floating around ever since Vince made his statement on WWE TV. BCCW would like to neither confirm nor deny it's existence, but instead to chastise these redditdolphin bastards with a knack for "insider" information. Word continues to make the rounds about internal "sabotage" but BCCW remains a united front (despite the public spats between key management figures as of late). All signs point towards a calamitous occasion on the horizon as these two super powers finally collide after so many years of cold war...
