BROKEN CITY CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLINGRingside Commentators: Gordon Solie & Matt StrikerI’ll go to war for mine, Rebel Army guard the border I’m in the trenches barking orders like I’m Sergeant Slaughter Pray to Jesus H. for mercy and plead your case Cuz on the frontlines - you’re dead the second that you see my face!** CUT TO RING ** __________________________________________________________________________** BCCW (Interim) TV Title Finals **GORGEOUS GEORGE (1950) vs RHINO (2001) versus Perhaps the most vain entrance ceremony ever (Georgie) is juxtaposed with the dark boiler-room promo of a half-blind (all mad) RHINO - who swears violent revenge. The whole TV title fiasco was a set-up from the start - with "Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers swearing to dethrone reigning champion Bill Goldberg (1998) by any means necessary. He employed the services of Rhino, who injured the Man - necessitating the institution of this "Interim" title. But what Rhino didn't know, was that Rogers had bet the farm on Gorgeous George Wagner becoming the new King of TV (again). Think of the ratings. When Rhino refused to be bought and sold like Hercules Hernandez to Ted Dibiase, he was ultimately blinded by a blast of Chanel #10 by George (see XPW TV Episode #13). Match is more "entertainment" than "sportz", with Rhino being physically impeded - and George going through comic extremes to avoid him and inflict his own punishment. Rhino gets a small measure of vengeance at the end by *FINALLY* catching former-agent "Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers with a GORE! GORE! GORE! (driving Rogers right out of his Alligator loafers)... but winds up succumbing to a small package from George (after being rolled back into place by Georgie's valet Gentleman Tornado). The Human Orchid steals a victory, and isn't shy about celebrating it. The Dallas crowd grows nauseous with his narcissistic pandering and dainty mannerisms (while they hum his theme song, catch his Georgie-pins, and buy his merchandise)! "Win if you can, lost if you must - but always cheat!" Winner (and Interim Television Champion): GORGEOUS GEORGE WAGNER** CUT ** __________________________________________________________________________** BCCW Flyweight Title **Low-Ki (2004) © versus Gus Sonnenberg (1929) versus Gus Sonnenberg is a pro footballer, winning the NFL championship with his team the Providence Steam Rollers (1928). While playing football in Providence, Sonnenberg was also training to be a pro wrestler. This is why Low-Ki has subtly attacked his character in the build-up to this match (claiming GSon's heart isn't in the game so much as his hands are out for a payoff). But GSon is wholly dedicated to his craft, and despite being just 5'7" and 200 pounds and having no background in the sport (to Low-Ki's eternal chagrin) - GSon has quickly became a sensation in fantasy wrestling. GSon changed the style of the sport with his signature move, the "flying tackle." (aka "Providence Steam Roller") - much as Low-Ki himself changed the game with his crisp array of MMA-inspired strikes and kicks 75 years later. GSon has become a main event wrestler for Boston-based promoter Paul Bowser, despite Low-Ki being the Flyweight Champion. This match has been framed by mutual respect, but the tensions between these two go back to Day #1 in BCCW. Here - they are finally able to let loose, and the result is an incredible timeline clash. From the leatherhead-era to the mats of modern-day ROH these two bring the action - and the fans are wholly appreciative. "THIS IS WRESTLING!" "LET'S GO LOW-KI/LET'S GO GSON"! and "BCCW! BCCW!" chants abound. In the end (after a tense back-and-forth battle), GSon reverses a hold and squeaks out a pinfall victory! Crowd (who had been cheering the action throughout) - explodes in unison with his victory, proving that for a time - GSon actually rivaled Jim Londos as the biggest draw in pro wrestling history! What's most interesting about the post match celebration - is Low-Ki subtly *DECLINING* to accept GSon's handshake of mutual respect! Low-Ki slips away angrily, letting GSon soak in his victory and give an inspiring post match promo about working hard and making dreams come true!!! Winner (and NEW BCCW FW champion): GUS SONNENBERG ** CUT ** ** CELEBRITY SIGHTING **
BCCW Pres Paul Bowser in the luxury box with special guests (and BCCW-sponsored UFC champions) GSP & JON JONES (fresh off his UFC 159 victory over Chael Sonnen - check out that gnarly toe!) ** CUT ** __________________________________________________________________________** BCCW Middleweight Championship **Alberto Del Rio © versus Wild Red Berry (Submission Only) w/ versus w/ Fulfills the intelligent mat-wrestling quota of tonight's show. Both men unrivaled in pure wrestling pedigree, and that brilliance is on full display tonight under the watchful eyes of the Fantasy Wrestling multiverse. The ringside presence of Damien Sandow & Ricardo adds the color & fan interaction, while Berry/ADR grapple over holds and counters. There are also exchanges between the two showing off ADR's legit MMA background - and Berry's legit boxing background. A true battle of champions. But in the end, Wild Red Berry shows why he's the original "Brain" of pro wrestling - by pulling a fast one with Sandow on Ricardo Rodriguez! Berry squeezes out a victory with his Gilligan's Twist submission finisher and liberal use of a white towel *thrown* in by Ricardo Rodriguez! NEW CHAMPION!Winner (and NEW BCCW MW champion): WILD RED BERRY!!Berry and Sandow celebrate their genius, and show why Berry had real-life affiliations with such groups as the Masons and Shriners! And now the fantasy wrestling version of the Illuminati! BUT - once again proving who has the *REAL* power in this game (see BCCW TV Episode #13) - the fans demand action - and BCCW VP Sheldon Goldberg is quick to oblige! He uses instant video replay to *OVERTURN* the decision (Dusty Finish!) and restart the match! Just like that the fans rejoice - the villains erupt - and ADR seizes the advantage with a lighting fast armbar submission! Berry has no choice but to TAP OR SNAP! HE TAPS OUT!! The match is finally over and the *REAL* champion has been decided!!Winner (and STILL BCCW MW champion): ALBERTO DEL RIO!! ** CUT ** __________________________________________________________________________** Money-in-the-Bank Match **feat. Ultimate Warrior, Dean Ambrose, Killer Kowalski, Mil Mascaras, Ryback & Paul London vs. vs. vs. vs. vs. This match is BCCW in a nutshell - love it or hate it. Obscure timeline clashes, polarizing characters and an over-abundance of sheer fantasy wrestling brilliance (and narcissism). Together it forms an ultimate nirvana of dream-match action. Talk about dream matches - this bout has them in spades. We see break-off action between London/Mascaras - Kowalski/Ryback (rehashing their recent break-up and feud) and Ultimate Warrior/Dean Ambrose over Dean's "Fantasy Wrestling Legend Killer" shtick... But perhaps the biggest tease comes at the end when Ultimate Warrior and RYBACK prepare to have their big showdown! (Fans go wild like it's the 1990 Royal Rumble again). Ryback still getting his share of "GOOOOOLDBERG!" chants, but now the power of Destrucity is staring him down with no fear! They never actually come to blows though - instead coming together over a mutually-shared destruction of Ambrose & Kowalski. Mascaras & London titillate us with daring, creative and high-flying ladder-related antics (at one point, London earns a "PLEASE DON'T DIE!" chant from the crowd) - while the others bring brute power spots to the ladder match presentation. In the end, a series of close finishes and teases results Killer Kowalski upsetting Warrior & Ryback (*FINALLY* about to get it on) - powerbombing London OFF the ladder through another one - and grabbing the MitB brief case for himself! Oh the horror! Killer Kowalski has just claimed a BCCW title shot! Winner: KILLER KOWALSKI ** CUT ** ** CELEBRITY SIGHTING **MSD enjoying the show with his idols: HUNTER S. THOMPSON! SHEL SILVERSTEIN! JACK KEROUAC!** CUT ** __________________________________________________________________________** BCCW HW championship **Sheamus © vs Crusher Casey vs Bruno Sammartino versus versus Heroes of Light clash in honorable combat. True warrior spirit, American resilience, and sportsmanship. Not to mention the always-favored good 'ol fashioned heavyweight slugfest. Times 3. Ass kickings from the 30s through the 70s all the way to 2013. Strength, size (Bruno's the *shortest*) and courage all evenly matched. It's an even bout, until the younger lion Sheamus rides the crescendo of fan support into a wave of momentum. Casey is driven through the ropes with a Brogue Kick, and after a brief exchange - the aging Bruno is reversed into White Noise for the pin! 1!.. 2!.. Casey couldn't get in the ring in time! 3!! Sheamus retains! Crusher still not defeated by Sheamus' hand, and 2013 HoFer Bruno goes out like Mick Foley Wrestlemania 2000. All 3 men shake hands and Bruno/Casey jointly raise Sheamus' arms in championship tribute! Classy display, and Sheamus is slightly moved to tears as he embraces both his idols. True passing of the generational torch between hard-working immigrant laborers who achieved the American dream... Winner (and STILL BCCW HW champion): SHEAMUS** CUT ** ** BREAKING NEWS **BCCW is coming to the City of Lost Angels for the most Xtreme night of the Fantasy Wrestling year... Anarchy, rebellion, desecration, violence and retribution... who will survive the West Coast meat-grinder? Stay tuned and find out, as BCCW presents...RETURN to the SCENE OF THE CRIME!! Coming in May! Stay tuned!! ** CUT ** __________________________________________________________________________The Axis vs Von Erich boyz (Loser Leaves Town Match) vs. This is the emotional main event of the night - and marks the fantasy wrestling return of the Original Von Erich trio. Huge local attention paid to this bout, with none other than MARK CUBAN himself acting as guest ring announcer (with some not-so-PC words for the Axis, as only Mark Cuban can deliver)! Von Erichs storm the gates - Axis fight back and bloody the Von Erichs - teenage girls swoon and faint in the crowd - a riot seems imminent - until the babyfaces (led by David Von Erich) mount the comeback and achieve ultimate victory. When the final pinfall is counted, the building erupts in cheers (confetti, streamers and posterboard raining down everywhere) and another important civil war is fought - and won - on Texas soil. The Axis are BANISHED (and the crowd responds with the "hey hey hey goodbye!" song as DeBeers/Schmidt & Borga are forced out of the building by security)! Winners: VON ERICHSTHE VON ERICHS WILL LIVE FOREVER! FREEDOM!!** CUT ** __________________________________________________________________________** Bully Ray (w/ T.O.X.I.C. promo): gangland burial for Cena tonight in Texas ** ** John Cena promo: End of the road, do-or-die situation - and Cena embraces the challenge ** John Cena (w/ Trish Stratus) vs Bully Ray (w/ Brooke Hogan) (World Title Shot on the Line) w/ versus w/ John Cena pins Bully Ray in old fashioned ECW-style brawl - featuring tables, blood, scantily-clad women cat fighting - and kick outs after finishing moves. Props, attitude & plain 'ol bad attitude - this is BCCW spitting in your face and then kicking you while you're down. Bully Ray drags the Dr of Thuganomics out of Cena (who embraces the hate his wigger-antics earned him) and goes Naughty by Nature on Bully's ass. Brooke Hogan is no athlete, but she looks damn good getting her dress ripped off and hair mussed by a ferocious Trish Stratus! In the end, Cena dodges a desperation steel-chair swing (fights off Aces & Eights interference with the help of Team 4:20 - see BCCW Happy 4:20) - and FUAA's Bully Ray to end any speculation of Cena's worthiness of a World title shot. Heroes of Light DO prevail with Hustle, Loyalty, Respect - and Cena proves once and for all why he is the face of BCCW - because we RISE ABOVE HATE.Winner: JOHN CENA __________________________________________________________________________** WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP **Lou Thesz © versus Rob Van Dam (Best 2 out of 3 Falls) versus Huge stakes here. RVD is crazy bananas bonkers over with the crowd - and Lou Thesz (w/ Strangler Lewis) are the epitome of overwhelming heel champion. Thesz starts with an arm ringer, takedown and collar lock that is wriggled out of by Van Dam - into a head scissors from Thesz. But RVD quickly rolls on top for a 1 count, and the crowd already chanting "RVD!" Thesz & Lewis stall, and discuss strategy at ringside. Back in - Headlock by Van Dam, hits the ropes and scores a shoulder block, trade leap frogs, before Thesz rudely kicks RVD out of the sequence! Van Dam reverses a corner whip, backflips, and springboards off the second rope into a crossbody on Thesz! No time to rest - RVD leg sweeps him - misses a somersault leg drop - and both men bounce up to their feet and stare each other down (crowd energy is electric). And so it continues - back and forth, up and down, over and out. This is RVD versus Jerry Lynn for the 1st time mixed with a little of Thesz' eternal battles with "Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers. Hold, counter-hold, space-age aerial attack, technical brilliance. They fight with no sign of tiring. RVD somersault pin Fall #1. Thesz press Fall #2. Referee Danny Davis is crooked, but not overtly so. Yet his presence alone is enough to sway RVD and infuriate the paying fanbase. In the end Thesz & RVD battle to a full 25-minute draw that has fans nearly exhausted trying to follow along. Match is a TIE - and Referee Danny Davis declares DRAW goes to the champion. HUGE letdown on the finish, though Thesz/Lewis are grateful to accept it. But not the fans! They want a finish - and BCCW Paul Bowser reciprocates - RESTART THE MATCH! NO TIME LIMIT! SUDDEN DEATH RULES, 1st man to a finish wins! Fans are delighted! RVD re-energized! Thesz/Lewis irate! Strangler Lewis actually tries to get his hands on Paul Bowser, which leads to the closest near-fall of the night on Thesz (fans/commentators/readers thought for *SURE* RVD had that pinfall - after nailing a picture-perfect 5-star). Instead, villains use the distraction to their benefit - RVD winds up getting pitched OFF the top rope by Strangler Lewis on the next attempt - and crash lands right into Lou Thesz' STF! RVD struggles, struggles, struggles... never taps... and finally passes out from the pain (Thesz' technical mastery + RVD's incredible flexibility makes the hold look extra-debilitating). Thesz wins the contest by Technical Ref Stoppage!! BIG TIME BOOS FOR THAT! Rain of trash! Thesz retains the title! Winner and STILL WORLD CHAMPION OF ALL FANTASY WRESTLING:LOU THESZFans and viewers get a small measure of revenge when John Cena crashes the party (full babyface reception now) and throws Thesz out on his ass with an FUAA over the top rope. FUAA to referee Danny Davis! That leaves the gate wide open for RVD to crush Strangler Lewis with a 5-Star frogsplash and send the fans home happy! Cena has Thesz in his sights! The world champion and Strangler Lewis stagger out of the arena while the fans and good guys rejoice in their moral victory.Stay tuned for more historic fantasy wrestling action as BCCW prepares to launch "Manifesto" - and MSD's Mash-Up Wrestling begins! EVENT HORIZON IS HERE! GO CALL YO MAMMA!!** FADE OUT ** __________________________________________________________________________

OK Night of Champions III here we go. The big one, the start of a new game, the universal implosion of negative energy into a billion... blah blah blah skip the hyperbole! We've got a card so let's see if it delivers:
I like the historical and cultural relevance of Gorgeous George, and Buddy Rogers was always known to have borrowed liberally from him. So the connection is there. I don't like him (or Fandando) but I respect what he's done. Even with the handicap Rhino is a beast to handle and it basically takes 3 men to cheat a 1/2 blind man out of victory. I see the Dark Powers granting Georgie his own doman but ultimately at what cost? I'm sure you have a reckoning in mind.
I am a huge Low-Ki mark and it's interesting to see the way you've used him against Gus Sonnenberg here. Even putting the black and white era football player over him in what I consider to be shock of the night. Even more interesting, Low-Ki refuses the handshake after a contest that was supposedly so framed in "mutual respect". Good match.
Nice false finish on the middleweight contest, although the more I read your back episodes the more I enjoy Sandow, Berry and their "Illuminati". The more I watch WWE TV the less I am enjoying the babyface version of Del Rio, although his loss to Ziggler was done superbly. So I'm hoping this isn't the last we hear from Sandow & Berry. Why wasn't David Otunga at ringside with them in the Firm?
Money in the Bank was my personal favorite. I was pulling for Ultimate Warrior but will settle for Kowalski, especially after the story-telling arc you've been on with him recently. I wondered where he was going to go after Ryback beat him clean and his so-called "killer stable" has proven to be a bunch of lackies. This win shows he failed a Dark Powers check and earned a "killer" reward. I can't wait to see what awaits him on the downside of that wish...
While Sheamus on screen WWE TV 2013 has grown a wee bit stale to me, I do like the rugged old school edge you've given him in your works. His win over these two golden era legends (I know Bruno, I'm trusting you on Casey) is huge for him and goes a long way towards legitimatizing the Heavyweight championship and solidifying BCCW as the place to go for hard-fought glory by honor. Nice show of honor from all three men to end.
The Triumph & tragedy of WCCW has always been one of my favorite DVDs so I'm glad you went with the happy ending here. I was on the edge of my seat dreading some kind of sick MSD swerve so I'm glad you Kept It Simple Stupid. At least for my sake. Those guys have gone through enough torment and torture as it was. Meanwhile the Axis is now banned from Texas, though not BCCW completely, so I'm guessing that's not the last we see of them.
John Cena beats Bully Ray in a WWE vs TNA match that had no right being as good as it was. You really let it all hang loose with blood spraying, tables broken and girls being stripped. Yet somehow I can see 2006ish-era Cena pulling something like this off. So Cena finally gets his shot at Thesz but where does this leave Bully Ray? And T.O.X.I.C?
Now the big one: RVD vs Thesz for the World championship of fantasy wrestling. One of a kind like the RVD DVD title. I like how evenly matched it stayed even with evil referee Danny Davis in the mix. Thesz wins by hook or by crook, usually both of them, and Cena gets the run in at the end to send the crowd home happy.
Overall it was another superb show and you got across all your main points without wallowing in self indulgent walls of text. One thing I noticed was no Insiders? I thought the Miz - Scott Hall - Blueprint union was going to be big news especially after Scott Hall invaded Fallout Festival but they weren't even mentioned here. No David Otunga either but that probably raises the score instead of lowering it. Good work, I approve. Even though I think GSP is far to fond of the wrestling aspect of MMA...
